The first thing you notice when you step into the office is all the interesting do-hickeys. A lot of them are similar to the ones that had been in place when Cassandra Rae was headmistress but, there were a number of new ones as well. The most notable aspect of the space was the seemingly disorganized nature of it. Books, parchment, quills, ink, instruments, cauldrons, phials, and all number of items littered the shelves and any other flat surface available. You couldn't see the top of the desk and it was surprising that the seats were even available. Aside from the chairs (or at least most of them), the only thing not covered in various bits and pieces is the elegant baby grand piano stuffed in a corner of the crowded room.

The headmaster is a tall, relatively young, wizard with unkempt robes and dirty plastic glasses. He looks more like the auror he'd been than the headmaster he's become, a big brother rather than an authority figure. He smiles as you walk in (assuming you got past the gargoyle, that is

).

Pepe cleared his throat when Kazimeriz sat down. "Er... if you don't mind, I think it might be best if I had a private audience with the student, Professor. I doubt he'll be more forthcoming with me than with you if you're listening in."

Kazimeriz looked surprised and momentarily hurt. Offended. He recovered quickly, however. "Of course. Headmaster." he said coolly, nodding smoothly as he got up and stalked out of the room, glaring at Jake as he moved into the area outside Reynard's chambers. He drew up a chair and sat to wait.

Wondering if maybe Kazi had had another bout of crying, Jake looked uncertainly at the man, biting his lip. Grrrrr! Scawwy teachahs! It was no wonder Jake took to glaring at others, when that was the only way people seemed to look at him. Feeling an unnerving calm wash over him, Jake headed through the door to the office and let it swing shut behind him, all the while chewing on his thumbnail.

Pepe realized he was still barefoot and took the moment between Kazimeriz's leaving and the student's entering to slip into (honest to goodness) his fuzzy, gray, bunny slippers. He smiled as the Hufflepuff boy stepped in. "Come on in and have a seat, Mr. Upstead."

Jake figured it was best to just... pretend he wasn't looking at them. But... he couldn't stop STARING! Bunny slippers... dude. Not saying anything, Jake nodded and did what the man said, kind of staring off into space a little.

Pepe, Headmaster Bontecou, walked around his desk and plopped down into his seat. He found his glasses and put them back on. Ah. He could see!! "So... Give it to me straight: what the heck is Kazimeriz going on about?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! That eyebrow raise was rather alarming in Jake's opinion. Had he not been sitting already, Jake's knees probably would have shook in fear, but... maybe not... because Jake was just... bleh.

"Ahhhhh," Jake mumbled, leaning back in the chair a little. "I... I dunnuhhhh," he stated, words a little more slurred than usual. "I couldn't hear, you know... through the door. Ahhhhh, something about Lawson's lessons maybe?"

Whooooo kneeeeew?

"Well, I just thought maybe you had some idea why he felt it necessary to bring you up here. To be honest, I really don't know myself. He is an old man, after all," Pepe said.

"I dunno," Jake shrugged, fiddling with a little piece of thread that was slowly unravelling itself from the hem of his sleeve. "He keeps forcing me to tell him stuff... and I don't want to... or I can't remember. Him... Lawson... they're both obviously as bad as each other, though Kazi seems to think they're like... opposites or something."

Don't look at me, dude.

"I see," Pepe said, though he didn't really. How odd. "Well, if you can't remember anything then I suppose you're free to go, Mr. Upstead. Perhaps you should refrain from attending to Professor Lawson's lessons for the rest of the week. I can give you a pass if you'd like." And in the meantime, it seemed the headmaster had some investigating to do.

"Mkay, sir," Jake nodded, voice a tad far off. He was mega distracted recently... rawrr. "Errr... maybe," he added, referring to the staying away from Lawson's lessons. He kind of... wanted to go? No. Needed.

"I can go now, sir?" Jake mumbled, pushing himself up and out of the chair, though, admittedly, it hardly made a difference to his height.

"Yes, you may go and tell professor Kazimeriz that I'll catch up with him later. I have some other urgent matters to attend to," he explained, got up (still with his grey, fluffy bunny slippers) and moved into a dark corner of the office, seeming to examine a section of bare wall.

"Thanks sir," Jake nodded quietly, before backing away and out of the room without further ado, glancing at Kazimeriz as he walked away and biting his lip, resisting the urge to grin. "Says he'll catch up later," he mumbled, before scurrying away.

Kazimeriz narrowed his eyes and then nodded. Very well. He would corner the headmaster later and find out what was really going on here. He stood, vanishing his favourite chair and shuffling out of the corridor.

Daphne entered the office feeling that perhaps she made a wrong decision by accepting the Headmaster's offer. He seemed like a fine fellow--for the exception of having wet his pants. Still struggling with herself about whether to ask him how he had managed to do that, Miss Hopton massaged one of her sore wrists. "You have a very...."

Errrrr. What did one say in such a situation?

"You have an office."

Yes, let's point out the obvious.

Headmaster Bontecou heard the Dumbledore portrait chuckle while Phineas merely sneered at the poor girl. "Ah, yes. Yes, I do. Kazimeriz did a great job fixing it up, too," he grinned. THe office was (miraculously) still pretty neat and tidy, though the desk was back to being the disaster area that it had been before his absence. He gestured to a couple cushioned chairs. "Why don't you two take a seat and I'll be right back with the grapefruits," he said before heading over to a small laddder-like staircase which led to his private rooms.

"When he says WET his pants," Plymouth started after plopping down into chair, "you think he means he fell in a puddle?" The school WAS flooding, after all. "Or you think he means... tinkle tinkle?" Plymouth had mad respect for the Headmaster, but.... reallly? Wet his pants?

Delicately, Daphne took a seat, wincing slightly as her knees bent. Oh, yes, a good night's rest would be needed--and ice packs. The last time she had been so sore was when Davis insisted she began to do laps around the duck pond as part of her Tae Kwon Do training.

It was horrible.

"For the Headmaster's sake I would hope he was unfortunate enough to land butt first into a clean puddle," enthused Daphne but the way her brows arched almost into her hairline, it was obvious she felt the truth was different.

Headmaster Bontecou just seemed like the kind of guy to have issues with bodily fluids. "He seems a bit, well," drawled out the blond and circled a finger round her temple.

Unwell.

He found the box of grapefruit quickly enough and hurried back down to the kids. He brought them by hand, just in case. He figured they'd seen enough of his summoning skills already. So, the headmaster handed Mr. Morgan a huge knife (more like a fancy short sword) and then put three plates on a spot he'd cleared on his desk. Finally, he extracted three ripe grapefruits from a box and put one on each plate. "If you'd do the honors, Mr Morgan?"

Plymouth's eyes went as wide as the little plates. "That's a weapon, Sir. I could chop an ear right off with that..." But, he reached out for it anyway. THen put it down on the floor slowly.

Plymouth loved the Headmaster, but he'd just attacked Daphne with pants. He didn't want objects that could IMPALE them around. "I usually just use my fingers. Look, like this. It's a little messy," Plymouth glanced at Daphne, "but.. safer..."

Was that--Yes, it most definitely was. Daphne smiled politely at the Headmaster but was careful to inch her body slightly, while still on her seat, away from Morgan and his sword.

"What?" she whispered at Plymouth who kept looking at her. Fixating her eyes on the grapefruit on the plate, Daphne wrinkled her nose. "That...involves using my fingers."

Errrrr. Helloooo. She had just done her nails.

The headmaster laughed outright and then picked up the "knife". He sliced through the grapefruit like butter, halving it, and then cutting around the edge to make it easier to extract the flesh of the fruit with the grapefruit spoon he removed from his pocket and handed to Miss Hopton. "Now, what else can I do for you two? Need a get out of detention free pass?" he suggesed with a wink.

"You have one of those?" Plymouth asked with genuine curiosity. He never actually meant to get in trouble, but sometimes... Plymouth did things. Usually for good reasons, but sometimes things happened. He was a boy, after all.

Plymouth broke into his grapefruit with enthusiasm, with slurpy sounds, all the while sending little glances towards Daphne.
