The first thing you notice when you step into the office is all the interesting do-hickeys. A lot of them are similar to the ones that had been in place when Cassandra Rae was headmistress but, there were a number of new ones as well. The most notable aspect of the space was the seemingly disorganized nature of it. Books, parchment, quills, ink, instruments, cauldrons, phials, and all number of items littered the shelves and any other flat surface available. You couldn't see the top of the desk and it was surprising that the seats were even available. Aside from the chairs (or at least most of them), the only thing not covered in various bits and pieces is the elegant baby grand piano stuffed in a corner of the crowded room.

The headmaster is a tall, relatively young, wizard with unkempt robes and dirty plastic glasses. He looks more like the auror he'd been than the headmaster he's become, a big brother rather than an authority figure. He smiles as you walk in (assuming you got past the gargoyle, that is

).

OOC: Any posts from those who do not go through the Gargoyle's Entrance and either know the password or escorted through will be deleted without warning or notice.

While everyone else seem distracted by their hands and/or the return of one of Plymouth's favorite teacher - Bontecou - he moved around to kneel by her chair. He was already grinning something ridiculous. "Can I come with you, CellBell?" Plymouth asked carefully. "I'd like to, if you don't mind." And then of course if the other adult peoples didn't mind. "And you can hold my hand so you dont' need your fingers to walk. Then, when you get better, we'll go straight to the Great Hall and get mashed potatoes and then your shoes and then we'll RUNNN around in white on the grounds. I'll show you the floods. We can throw rocks." MMhmmm. Plymouth bounced a little from his squatted position. Mmm airnuzzles hadn't ever been more welcome.

Pepe raised an eyebrow at the girl's antics before the pristine nature of the office distracted him. Merlin's beard! He hadn't seen the office this clean since he took over the previous term. How was he supposed to find all his stuff? Well, he had been considering cleaning up, anyway, hadn't he? "Ah... Well, don't mind me and thanks for cleaning the place up," he smiled at Kazimeriz, thinking it might be better to ignore the crazy girl and her attendants.

I think we can safely say that Jake stood wayyyyyy out of the way. He was scared. Dead scared. Heck, he was freaked out. Cela was like... all bleh... Plymouth was freaking out, Kazi was CRYING!

Wondering if anyone even noticed whether or not he was still there, Jake, wide-eyed and shocked, took a step backwards. He'd just been staring...

Wow.

Kazimeriz nodded at Reynard. "My pleasure, and the least I could do in gratitude for loan of the space. I -- be still, Mr. Upstead-- I am always honored to stand in for you when needed, but it is very good to have you back, Reynard. Now, if you will excuse us... Cari, perhaps you could take Mr. Morgan and our young Miss to hospital? Headmaster, I would like a private audience with you later, to discuss some pressing matters, but unless you have need of me at the moment, first I would like to address a disciplinary matter with Mr. Upstead... which I will tend to as I walk him back to where he belongs." He glowered at the boy as he spoke.

He didn't really register what Kazi was saying, not at all, in fact, for Jake was still in shock. That had been... scary, and he wasn't even sure about what exactly he'd witnessed. The only thing he was aware of was Kazi being all 'be STILL, DUDE!', or words to that effect... and then something woth the word Dissplinarrarary.

Or something.

Jake caught no look, no tone. He was stuck in his thoughts, still staring over at Cela.

It's so rare that Caroline and Professor Kazimeriz get along.

It creeped her out.

"Certainly, Professor." she agreed awkwardly. "Celandine, did you want to come with me now? Plymouth can come to if he wants."

Cari crossed to the door and waited for Plymouth, Celandine and her boundless enthusiasm to catch up with her.

"Oh, and Headmaster, if you find a spare moment, would I be able to talk to you about Nurse Byron? Or well... the lack thereof?" she asked, sort of as an afterthought. She'd become sort of used to her absence after two months. She'd even moved into the main office.

"Yes! I totally DO want to come with... where are we going?" Cela stood up and bounced over to Caroline, actually managing a little cartwheel in the small space between them. "You are really pretty, miss. Do boys stare at you all the time and distract you from your studying too?" Cel was now hopping on one foot and tugging on her skirt while attempting to touch her nose with her tongue.

"OhMyFrickenLife," Jake babbled out, fidgetting even more and stepping further backwards. Cela was acting different to normal... it was mega scary. He couldn't stop a whimper as he tried to separate himself from everyone... try to blend into the background.

Plymouth was oddly quiet again as he got up and followed. He sent Jake a look, but just passed him and went to stand out in the hall and wait for Cela. He wasn't exactly sure how to act towards her yet, but he was disgustingly glad she was okay.

Plymouth left the office, grinning at Cela's antics.

Caroline snorted back a giggle. "Once or twice, when I was your age," she admitted, as her patient and her friend exited past her.

She nodded her head politely at the Headmaster and left the office, she didn't want Celandine and Plymouth to get too far ahead of her.

He'd been given a look. And he didn't react.

Nervously realising he was now alone with the Headmaster and Kazimeriz, Jake went even more wide-eyed than before, and started edging towards the way out of the office. If anyone asked... he was juuuuust getting a headstart...

... even though he didn't know where they were going.

Kazimeriz raised an eyebrow... He knew they had been flooded out only all too well. He sighed. Lupa's office... All those stairs. Grand. "Indeed, if you think this is the best solution then of course I acquiese to your wisdom." He nodded. "I shall move my things in at once. Come, Upstead. I need a word with you. I shall return later, Reynard. Good to have you back." He half-bowed to the Headmaster and led the way out of the office, grabbing Upstead by the ear and dragging him out with him.

ooc: I have received Zoe's permission to 'move' Jake this way, to clear out your office for you.

Kazimeriz rapped on the door and poked his head in. "Headmaster; I apologize for returning so soon but I need to have a word with you most urgently."

Okay... so maybe the man WOULD come back this soon after leaving. Who knew? Not Jake. Staring sullenly at his shoes, Jake lingered behind Kazi, unable to stop the tiniest of pouts from making its way onto his face.

Kazi had a new name.

Stupid old goat.

"Sir..." Jake tried again, keeping his voice down so Bontecou wouldn't hear him. "Sir, I don't want to go in there."

Kaziimeriz ignored Upstead. He didn't want to go in? Oh, boo hoo, poor Mister Upstead being asked to do things he doesn't want to do. Time to man up, Upstead. He heard voices and it took him a moment, but he finally pulled his focus away from his meditation and unwrapped his arms, placing his hands on his waist as he opened his eyes. Before turning to the guests he straightened his legs and finally stood. He took a deep breath and then turned on his heel. They were awfully blurry.... He blinked. "How can I help you?" he asked, trying to remember what he'd one with his glasses.

Kazimeriz gave Jake a glare to indicate he should stay outside the office, then strode into the room, coming in and seating himself in his usual chair in Rey's office. "Thank you, Headmaster. It seems that Mister Upstead-- who is waiting outside-- is having a problem with respecting authority. I had called him to my office to address a prior issue and he failed to appear, and states that he simply 'did not feel like' attending my detention. This behavior is out of character for Mr. Upstead in my experience..." Typically a mere glare from Kazimeriz would make the boy toe the line pretty well, after all.

"Further, he has been impertinent and rude... and he adamantly refuses to answer my questions with regard to the nature of private 'lessons' that Professor Lawson has been administering... Despite the fact that Lawson's lessons are somewhat questionable in nature; Upstead did reveal that the man has been menacing him and even hung him from the ceiling by his undergarments during these 'sessions'. Given Upstead's history as victim of bullies, I am concerned for his safety and well-being, but also concerned about the disrespectful attitude toward authority that Lawson's influence is apparently inspiring in him." Kazimeriz furrowed his eyebrows; this situation was obviously most dire, that villian Lawson was obviously up to no good and was using Upstead in his campaign of evil, no doubt plotting to bring down Kazimeriz, perhaps the entire school!

"His safety, yes, and also the negative influence Mr. Lawson's lessons appear to be having on his attitude toward authority figures. However, I cannot know the extent of the damage being caused to his psyche because the boy simply refuses to speak about the nature of what Lawson is doing in these so-called 'lessons'-- that alone is a red flag that something is not right. I suspect dark and nefarious activities are at play, Reynard. Surely you recall the case of the professor in Australia who was caught trying to create a student coalition of neo-Death Eaters? I would not be surprised if Lawson was in league with that line of thinking, given the company he keeps. I would hate for the Upstead boy to be drawn in by such an unscrupulous figure." He scowled, thinking of the evil that was Team Truebridge and Lawson. Truebridge... the man who had taken a cheap shot, disabling him permanently to get his friend a position at the school. Conspiracy was obviously afoot; surely his fellow ex-Auror could see that as well as he could.

Kazimeriz contemplated for a moment. "That would be helpful, absolutely. However, Lawson probably will be on his best behavior if he knows you are on to him, so perhaps another, more stealthy approach might be better...?" A mole, perhaps. An idea occurred to Kazimeriz. A way to watch Lawson and Truebridge. They could use Upstead...

"As for Upstead, in an effort to encourage him to speak, I have told him that he may face disciplinary action up to and including expulsion if he fails to answer to what is going on in those lessons, and whatever Lawson is doing in there is so troubling that even that was not enough to move him to speak. So I would like to ask for your assistance in finding out definitively what is going on."

"You have a pensieve, do you not?" Kazimeriz raised an eyebrow, looking at Reynard. His mouth drew into a small smirk. Surely the most logical way to get to the truth of the matter would be as evident to Bontecou as it was to Kazimeriz. After all-- he had experience with interrogation and intelligence tactics. He knew what must be done here.

"Yes, yes of course." Kazimeriz nodded, pursing his lips and furrowing his brows a bit. Hasty? Surely there is nothing too hasty when student safety-- perhaps the safety of the entire school-- is at risk. Lawson and Truebridge are madmen; why can you not see this? he thought, baffled at Reynard's calm attitude. "I do hope he is a great deal more forthcoming with you... Lawson's got his claws in deeply with the boy, I fear. I caution you to be firm with the child; nothing less seems to affect him." Kazimeriz rose and went to the door.

"Upstead. The headmaster will see you now." Kazimeriz said, then strode back to his chair and sat down to listen.
