Maybe it was a good thing she said that. Jane has never ever spoke her mind out loud, like EVER. But she could tell he felt the same way too. She retracted her hand for a second and put them on the bench, neatly. What Christian said next shocked her even more. It shook her!Mentally. She felt dizzy all in a second of his last sentence. Was a 15 year old girl suppose to feel this type of emotion? She opened her mouth to protest but nothing came out. She looked him in the eyes, speechless. She was in the middle of trying to say : 'You didn't even ask' and 'yes' that she ended up saying:

"Ughhermess,"Jane didn't know what she said. She randomly blurted out weird stuff now? What was Christian playing at? But he totally rocked her world.

He reached for her hand again. Looking int her eyes and smiling he spoke in her mind again. "Sorry love, I jumped the gun. I really like you. Will you go out with me?" He closed his eyes for a moment praying she'd say yes, having no clue that she heard that too.

Jane let out a giggle and took her hands away again. It always gave her some sort of buzz which she fears might fizz up her hair to the roots. But at the same time, it's a warm and fuzzy feeling, like butterbeer, she thought.

"Yes!!"Jane said and smiled. She blushed a little, but swung her hair across her cheeks.

Christian smiled and bit his lower lip. He so wanted to kiss her right now. But that would so land hem in Detention. He decided to be good for now. "So we've got COMC next right love?"

"Yeah it can be. I really dont like history." Naomi said. "Which kinda sucks cause my mom, even though she is a witch took on a muggle profession as the curator of the British Museum of Natural History. So she really likes history, my dad, who is a muggle, really like history, as does my older sister but I just cant stand it." Naomi sighed. "What about you? What is your blood line?" Naomi grabbed a piece of toast and spread raspberry jam over it and took a bite.

"Actually, it's HOM,"Jane smiled knowing just what he thought a moment ago. She didn't fancy the thought of adding more -ve points to the count. Anna won't be happy, she thought.

"Let's go,Chris,"Jane said, seeing Naomi is well acquainted with Dragobert.

Dagobert poured himself a glass of orange juice as he listened to Naomi explain her family's love for history.
Man she talks a lot, he could not help wondering, but maybe she's nervous talking to me. Can't say I blame her.
Her question prompted him to stop his trail of thought.
'Oh, um, my dad's a muggle and my mum's a witch like your parents. My dad works for a bank and my mum owns a robes shop at Diagon Alley. I have a sister too but she's younger than me.'
Dagobert took a sip of his juice and noticed how two Gryffindors were flirting with each other. He could not help but wrinkle his nose at the sappiness.
'So what do you for fun around here?' he asked trying to avoid looking at them.

"Ummmm... do my homework..." Naomi said with a half smile

Chris took her hand and let her lead him to their next class smiling softly.

Dagobert raised his eyebrows in surprise, 'You're joking right?'
He turned to look at her and properly and noticed that she had this odd smile on her face. She has to be messing with my head, who could possibly find homework fun?

"Well its just that I was gone for a year and then came back so i really dont know alot of people around here so i dont do alot besides my homework." Naomi said hanging her head slightly

'Well you know me now,' he said with a smile, 'I'm sure we can find something more fun to do.'
Dagobert patted his stomach with satisfaction, he was quite full now.
'Are you done eating? Maybe we could go to the lake, I've heard about this giant squid and I'd like to check it out.'

Jane stood up and half lead Christian to the exit but she almost forgot about just ditching Naomi there. She stopped dead in her tracks, smiled and turned to where Naomi was at, still conversing with Dagobert.

"It's nice meeting you, Naomi. I'll see you in the Common Room, then. We've got History Of Magic,"Jane waved a big wave. She turned to Dagobert too.

"See you around, Dag,"she added, smiled and skipped away.

While he waited for Naomi to reply, an owl, swooped in and dropped a copy of the 'Daily Prophet' on his lap. He felt his ears becoming pink, his mum must have subscribed him without telling him. He liked to keep the fact that he actually read the newspaper a secret since he mainly made fun of people for reading. The owl had become impatient with him and started pecking at his ear.
'Alright, alright,' he said taking a couple of coins out of his robes with annoyance, 'Just go now!'
The owl pecked him one last time and swooped off while all Dagobert could do was glare. He heard one of the sappy Gryffindors say goodbye to Naomi and was slightly startled when she said bye to him too, especially when she used his nick-name.
'Yeah, see you around,' he grunted, eying her and the boy that was holding her hand. He was so tempted to add in 'I hope not as much as I just witnessed now' but thought it'd be better not too.

Christian heard Dagobert's thought and he was still holding Jane's hand which means Jane heard it too. The little firstie had no idea who he was dealing with. His Ice blue eyes went dark and he was just about to lunge at the kid and ask him what his problem was.

Jane pushed herself in front of Christian. She smiled and mouthed a 'No' to him and to make sure he doesn't do what he was about to do, she whispered something that sounded as sappy as before like: "No, love," and gripped his hand really tight to pull him away, but before that, she shot a look at him.

She turned to Dag and Naomi.

"Not as much, Dag,"she smiled at him. She walked behind Christian, making sure he doesn't turn back.

He waited till they were out of earshot before he whispered to her. "He's lucky you stopped me. Nobody makes comments like that toward my girl and gets away with it. He'll have bulbadox powder in his pyjamas tonight." Christian growled lowly, still mad at the ickle firstie.

It took christian a few minutes to calm down, Anna would kill him and as a fifth year he was supposed to be a leader to the firsties. Ugh it just irked him that that one couldn't keep his thoughts to himself.

Did I say that out loud? he wondered to himself. He was pretty sure that he had kept the last part to himself.
Weird, he thought looking quite bewildered and also noticing how the boys eyes seemed to have darkened, maybe he just doesn't like guys talking to his girl.

He watched as Jane tried to subdue the angry Gryffindor. His eyebrows arched in surprise though when he heard what she said next. He must have said the last part out loud, why else would she have just said that? Before he could say anything back, Jane and they boy began walking away.
There's something strange about those two, he thought to himself, and I'm going to find out what it is.

Jane smiled again, turned to Christian and whispered "He won't," Jane then looked back to send Dag a mischievous grin that bared her sparkly white teeth, which continued to sparkle when she turned back to Christian to talk to him about Herbology. It was probably her last visit to the dentist that her teeth were dazzling.

Rolling his eyes, Christian sighed. It was his instinct that made him want to throttle the kid for his thoughts. Merlin's Pants he was mad. He held tight to her hand. "I'm sorry baby, his thought just made me angry."

Jane flashed a dazzling smile at him and Dagobert was momentarily distracted. It was quite a pretty smile, he had to admit and it added to the mysterious element surrounding those two. He sighed. Dagobert really did not like being kept in the dark about things, he always wanted to be in the know but these two confused him.
All this thinking is making me hungry, he thought while he grabbed a stack of pancakes from the table.

What's got his panties in a twist, he couldn't help thinking to himself, you'd think I'd made a move on his girl or something.

"Pancakes are good for him, love. Leave him be for now, he's not worth house points and Anna's lecture,"Jane whispered again to Christian while smiling some more. She had some sort of promised herself and Anna..in a way that she would do homework and stay out of trouble for the whole year. It's Anna's last year!!

Christian leaned down and whispered in Jane's ear. "Get me out of here baby before I go ballistic on him." He whispered. Then putting his arm around her waist he waited for her to lead the way.

Jane wasn't smiling as much now. In fact, she noted that certain tone in Christian's voice that told her he was serious. She didn't even dare to dwell on this further, almost already knowing what he was thinking. She pushed her back against him,as if to protect from an oncoming attacker, but that was just so he won't attract that much attention from Dag. She waved goodbye to Dag and turned around, facing Christian. She gave him a hug and took both his hands. She walked out of the Hall backwards, with her facing Dag and still leading Christian with both hands.

Dagobert watched the two 'lovebirds' go with an amused look on his face. He found it interesting how he got to Christian with out really even doing anything.
Wonder what'd he do if I actually did try,' he imagined while chewing on his pancake. Dagobert did not want to push it right now, he had just started at this school. He would say see how far he could push it when he was more comfortable with his surroundings and maybe when he had more friends to back him up. For now, he was going to be on his best behavior, well at least he would try
