"Nice to see you too!" he said with a laugh, staggering as she hugged him. He gently extracted himself from her grasp sat down beside her placing the chips in his hand onto a plate. "I'm good, been a bit... off in my own world lately though," he said with a small smile. "Things have gotten a little weird at home," He shrugged, "But hey," he said, turning to face her, "What about you? How's it going?" he said, with a small grin.

Still alive? What an odd way to put it, although, considering recent events at Hogwarts, it wasn’t all that surprising. Perhaps, just perhaps, news of the castle’s flooding had reached the public. Daisy wondered if her own parents were worried about her. Isador, the younger of her older brothers, of course, wouldn’t be, but perhaps Leander the eldest would be. She made a mental note to write home to him later.

“Thanks,” Daisy replied taking the milk from the girl and poring herself a goblet. “I’m Daisy,” she responded in kind as the girl identified herself and then folded up and put her letter away.
“Hi,” Daisy said primarily out of courtesy seeing as this too, was another member of her house that she was no familiar with. After all, the boy hadn’t really said hi to her, seeing as the greeting ‘long time no see’ implied a familiarity and a previous engagement between two people. Furthermore, the following squishy hello-hug scene that erupted before Daisy made her feel a bit uncomfortably out of place.

She turned her attention to devouring her turkey sandwich on her plate. Once that was gone, she scanned the Great Hall for someone else she knew. The two across the table from her deserved some sort of privacy for a quick ‘catch up’ and if they wanted her to participate in the conversation, they would engage in her in due course.

I wonder were Roland, or Booger Boy is? It’s been a bit blah lately.

"I've been good." she smiled. She reached over and stole one of his chips. "Ha, sorry, I only wanted one." she laughed. "So how much have you missed?" she asked him. "There's been a lot going on here at Hogwarts, both socially and magically." she explained. Dem thought for a moment when he mentioned being in his own little world. It made her think of Kairi, and how she had dissppeared for some sort of quest. Merlin, I miss her. she thought to herself.
"Nice to meet you, Daisy." she smiled and poured herself a goblet of milk. It looked good at the time.

Lizzie walked down the hall, looking at people who sat by the tables. Suddenly she came across Dem and Jesse. With a little smile she sat down beside Jesse and hugged him. Hi Jesse, haven't seen you in long she said softly. Turning to Dem she said I just spoke to Chris.. You should have heard how bad he felt, he really wanted to tell me he was sorry for dating Paris.. she studied her friend, wondering how Dem would react. She hadn't been to happy about how Chris had handled things, and Lizzie didn't know how upset Dem still was about it. She just felt slightly empty inside, but at least they weren't fighting anymore...

Dem stared at Lizzie for a while, comtemplating what she had said. "How did he handle it?" she asked. There were different kinds of sorrys. Sorry's that were pitiful, sorry's that were forced, sorry's with only slight meaning, and sorry's that were truly meaningful. Dem, growing up with so many siblings, had seen every sorry.

Vivianne again sat at the Gryffindor table to join her friends. "Hi everyone," she greeted as she took her seat. She gladly piled her plate with food - a pudding and a muffin. She saw Lizzie and remembered what she had just heard lately. She didn't want to start the conversation about that. "Hello Lizzie, Dem," she smiled at her friends whom she haven't talked to in ages. Seeing daisy was there too, "Hi Daisy."

“Hmmm? Oh – you too,” she replied bringing her attention back to the Gryffindor table. She eyed the boy next to her and was about to ask them both a general question when another girl walked up behind Demetria.
Daisy felt that this time she was encroaching too far into someone’s personal life, although why people had to air it out in the middle of the Great Hall was a mystery all of it’s own. It seemed like every other day there was some sort of dating drama and from the looks of it, the girl across the table seemed too young to have a boyfriend.

Then again, maybe Daisy just came from a traditional family where her brothers threatened to beat up any boy – friend or otherwise – she brought home. Furthermore, her mum’s occupation tended to scare off people as well. After all, who wanted to eat dinner while Romanian Longhorns buzzed the house and bellowed their matting calls?

“I’m going to go,” Daisy said slipping her apple into her pocket. She eyed all three of the people again as if to tell them with her eyes, ‘sorry don’t want to intrude upon your personal quarrel here. Please forgive my turning tail.’

“Perhaps I’ll see you around sometime Demetria. Um…guy.” She had over heard the girl yell his name, but for the life of her couldn’t’ remember what it was.
And then as if answering her prayers, someone she knew popped up. "Vivianne" Daisy said with more enthusiasm then she meant to express. “Where have you been?”

So Dem had met Daisy already however her smile faded a little when she heard Daisy bidding goodbye to the others. She just arrived and had just joined them. Her face again split into a wide smile when she noticed the changed in Daisy's attitude, "I've been lurking around. The castle's too big," she told her. "You're leaving?" Via asked her. She didn't want her to leave though. She just felt comfortable when she was with her.

”Well, I was thinking about it.” She glanced at the three people nearby wondering if she really wanted to stick around and hear about people love lives. Honestly, sometimes she thought she was living in a wizarding soap opera with the way students went about here. “But I don’t have to.”

She sat back down pulling her apple out of her pocket and placing it back on her plate. “You’ve been lurking have you? You know that can get you into trouble. Who knows? Booger Boy might try and come rescue you from your own prowling or something odd like that.”

Lizzie looked thoughtfully at Dem for a while. She shrugged slightly and said Well he cried and told me he didn't want to lose me as a friend she told her best friend, wondering if that was what she had thought of. Or was Dem indicating to the way Chris hadn't told Lizzie about his new girlfriend before she heard of it from other people? She had no idea, so she just watched her for a moment before adding And what he apologised for was really that he himself hadn't told me about Paris... I think.

Lizzie gave Via a smile as the girl joined them. Hi Via! How've you been lately? she said. They hadn't spoken in long. She could tell by Via's eyes that the girl was aware of what Lizzie and Dem were discussing, so she didn't bring it up.

Lizzie turned to face the girl who suddenly spoke. She wasn't familiar with her, but the girl gave her an odd look as they spoke of Chris, and wondering why Lizzie studied her for a while. Then she said Hi there, I don't think we've met. I'm Lizzie. She smiled friendly at the unknown girl, who apparently was a friend of Dem and Via.

Via followed Daisy's vision and she might have known what she wanted to avoid. "Good," she smiled. She watched her pull an apple form her pocket, "Ahuhh..." she agreed for the first question. At the mention of Booger boy, "Hey... you aren't over him yet. The scene had been weeks ago." She scratched her chin, "Maybe you were the one who got addicted to him now," she continued. "He wasn't interested in me though so he wouldn't appear around just so i get in trouble but just incase you're with me..." she paused, "...and somehow trouble might find us then he might pop out of thin air." Via loved to tease her about that Ravenclaw boy.

Via turned towards LIzzie's voice and answered, "I've been good LIz." She was glad to see her smile. Really am i expecting her to be sad? STop it Via, she snapped herself.

“Over him? The boy nearly killed me with that mask.” She paused. “Didn’t I tell you it smelled like a fish donut? It was terrible! Kinda hard to forget, let along get over, a smell like that.” She turned to the other girl who had introduced herself. “Hi Lizzie, I’m Daisy.” She gave her a wave then chomped into her apple which made a crisp sound as her teeth closed around it.

She chewed in silence for a moment contemplating Vivianne’s comment. Maybe she did like him. In some way, he reminded her of – someone she knew, she just didn’t know who exactly and of course that person didn’t have a germ-phobia. “Just cause he wasn’t interested in you,” she said after she swallowed her bite of apple. “Doesn’t mean he’s not interested in saving you from the invisible baddies and germies of the world. Pass the crisps would you?” she motioned to the bowl of potato chips at Vivianne’s elbow.

Lizzie looked at Via, answering her Well that's great. A little of the smile had left her face, but she wouldn't be sad around her friends. Besides, she and Chris had talked about it now and that made it easier to think about..

Looking at the girl she'd spoken to briefly she said Oh well hi Daisy. Nice to meet you.

She thought about the mask for a moment... Kill her with the mask? Daisy's next statement answered the query on her mind. Eeeek... What? "Eeeewww," she said as if she had smelled it. Now she knew why.

She again stared at Daisy as she ate a part of the apple, "I so hated apple," she muttered. And as her friend didn't said a word for a while, "See?" she giggled. Giggling was all part of her... really? "You're starting to like him... or you already like him," she whispered. "A hand sanitizer will do if ever," she laughed. "Like there are a million.... billions of germs out there," she said as she picked with both hands the bowl of chips.

Daisy had been enjoying her food and she haven't touched the food she had put on her plate. Her stomach was rumbling so she started eating.

He gave her an evil look as she stole one of his chips, and nudged her playfully in the side. "One chip," He shook his head, "I will miss it," He grinned at her, before eating one himself. "I've missed a lot, by the sound of things," he said with a small smile, pouring himself a glass of pumpkin juice. "Nothing's ever quiet at Hogwarts, and I suppose, when you drift off for a bit, you find yourself missing everything that's interesting," He shrugged and took a sip. "You ok?" he asked. She'd gone a bit quiet, as if in deep thought.

"Hey," Jesse gave her a small smile as they broke apart. Lizzie. He'd missed her too. He'd missed a lot of people. But, he didn't know if it was just him or, did she seem a little sad? He figured something must of brought her down, and a sort of answer came soon enough. Chris? Dating Paris? Then that must mean that... him and Lizzie weren't going out anymore. He blinked. She must have been pretty torn up. He frowned; and by the looks of things, he hadn't been there to comfort her. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a chocolate frog, before carefully slipping it into her hand under the table. He winked at her, before taking another sip of his pumpkin juice. A chocolate frog... Trust him.

Ok, so Dem knew about it too, and she seemed, y'know, angry. At least Lizzie's other friends had been there for her. He quietly cursed himself under his breath. She's always been there for me, and he hadn't been there for her. Deciding against asking about what had really happened (only hearing snippets from conversations could lead to a misinterpritation) he ate another chip.

"Hey," Jess said, as another person joined the table. He wasn't sure if they'd met before so he hastily introduced himself. "I'm Jesse," he said with a nod, "Third year Gryffie,"

Lizzie watched Jesse, he seemed to be deeply in thought. As she recieved the chocolate frog from him she realised he must be wondering about Chris, and she gave him a little smile that said "Feel free to ask if you wonder". She had already told Dem and Shay, so why not Jesse. He was after all one of her best friends.

”Yeah, you too,” she said taking the potato crisps from Vivianne. She dumped a bunch onto her plate and gave Vivianne a death glare. Daisy Petrus, did not like boys. Especially boys odd phobias like germs. If there was one thing growing up with older brothers had taught Daisy, it was the boys were trouble. Big trouble. More trouble then they were worth.

She took another crunchy bite out of her apple and then put it down on her plate as the boy across from her started talking.
“Hi Jesse,” Daisy said picking up a crisp. She sure was learning a lot of names today and knowing her, she’d probably forget them all the moment she left the Great Hall.

Conversation had dulled a bit and Daisy looked around at the people sharing the area of the Gryffindor table with her. They all looked sad or nervous as if there was a Chinese Fireball behind them all threatening to eat them if they moved or smiled or laughed.

Seems like a change of subject is in order. she thought to herself. She cleared her throat.

“Crrrrr-ommmpphfff,” she covered her mouth then shrugged. “So, how’s everyone getting onl with our new housemates?”

Via didn't know what to say to her. She might slip some unnecessary word so instead of saying something she just busied herself with her food. She couldn't resist herself so she said, "Liz, i hope you're fine. It'll be okay." Via so knew that the girl could handle the situation well. She just wanted to tell her she cared about her - about them both - coz they were her friends.

Via's attention was caught by a familiar face she couldn't remember where she had seen. Just then the boy introduced herself, Juliet came into her mind. "Ohhh.... You're the skater boy in Diagon Alley, right?" she said smiling. She told Juliet she haven't seen him yet. Well, now she could tell her she have seen him already. "Via...." As far as she remembered Juliet had introduced her as Vivianne. "Vivianne!!."

She had just passed the chips when Daisy dumped a bunch on her still filled plate. She tried to complain, "Noooooo," but was too late. "I'm not going to eat all of those," she told her without even looking coz her brown eyes are just fixed on the chips now piled on her plate. She was distracted and so she didn't knew what had happened next but she heard Daisy asking how's it going with the Slytherin's joining them at the towers.

She started munching some chips, if she couldn't finish all of those atleast she had touched it a bit. "The.. ISshllytherins," she said as she munched. She wasn't supposed to be talking when she was eating -just forget about manners now - she wasn't being graded though. Just those beady eyes looking at her if there were. "It was actually fun hanging out with them." Cool, she hasn't stayed much in the common room now because it was too crowdy. And again to mention she preferred wandering. She had friends from that house and she hasn't got the chance to talk to them up at the towers.

Jesse looked at her. That small smile could have meant many things, but he guessed it meant he could ask, if he wanted to. He looked about him. They were in the middle of the Great Hall, not really the best place to ask about something like this. He'd grown up with three sisters and they'd told him all the rights and wrongs of relationships, much to his displeasure. Lizzie and him could talk later. He didn't want to bring up any bad memories or sad thoughts but his curiousity was itching to be resolved.

He turned back to face her, giving her a look that said, Only if you want to. He ate another chip, another idea popping into his head. "Hey, er, Lizzie? I got some homework that I kind of need some help with. Would you mind, maybe, coming down to the small cliff later on? I suppose I seriously need to pay more attention in my classes," He smiled.

"Haven't really been up to the common room much," he said with a small shrug, "It's kind of weird seeing all the Slythies in there though," He grinned, "Not that I'm complaining,"

He grinned. "Yeah," He remembered now. She was Juliet's friend. He hadn't seen her yet. They'd have to catch up some time. "Nice to see you again Via," He frowned slightly, "Via or Vivianne? Which do you prefer?" he asked with a sheepish smile.

“It’s odd to see them around and it’s crowded. I hope they fix the flooding problem before it reached the Great Hall. I wonder where we’ll eat if it does reach her. And for that matter…where have the elves been cooking from?”

She glanced down at her plate eyeing the food and wondering if it was cooked up in the owlry. Then she shrugged, not worried too much about it. After all, she’d eaten weirder at home. Her father wasn’t exactly a world famous chef.

Lizzie could tell from Jesse's eyes that he was curious, but as always he was very careful not to make anyone unhappy by saying the wrong things. She nodded thoughtfully at his invite to meet her later, saying Sure thing. I need to catch up on some homework too, and joined in the subject he changed into. With a little shrug she said I couldn't agree more Jesse. I have kept out of the room mostly. Not that I don't like the slytherins, some of them are really nice.. she went silent, thinking of Paris, and gave Jesse a "I'll tell you later-look".

But I did meet a rather nice Slytherin called Theo.. she said with a little smile. So I don't mind sharing the common room with them, really.

Giving her friend a soft smile and a thankful look, Lizzie said Thanks Via. She didn't wanna get deeper into the subject again, so she just showed in her smile how much that meant for her to hear from the girl. Just to know she had friends who cared cheered her up a bit.

Via grinned when she heard Jess. Haven't really been up to the common room much.

HAh She wasn't alone after all. "Yeah it's still a little bit odd for me. Although company would be nice."

WHy was everyone she meet having trouble on what to call her? "Via will do," she smiled. "It was great seeing you again. Haven't seen you since that DA trip."

And another point for Daisy... just like what Via had in mind. "What's with Hogwarts this term?" she added to Daisy's questions. "Maybe they can float..." she said as she continued eating. To her surprise, she was almost done with the chips. SHe had eaten much... much more than her usual. "They must have transferred to an empty room. They're magical inside and out unlike wizards. They can probably produce food with the snap of their fingers."

Hogwarts' big enough for all of them. They could have picked some empty room and used magic on it for the flooded ones. Since the other two houses have joined the houses up the towers, it gave her an idea, "oh... oh... this one..." she said almost laughing. "Nothing..." she continued. She sooo should restrain herself from talking. When she was with Daisy she couldn't.

Such a funny thing.

"Maybe the cooking materials are just on the corridors and they have used invisibility cloaks on them so as not to be seen." That wasn't a good idea though.

She again smiled at her. She knew how that felt. Much more than that.

He nodded, "Thanks," and gave her a greatful smile.

"Yeah, I've met a few and they seem decent enough. It's just, there's double the students in there, and it seems way too crowded. It's much nicer when there's space, and room to y'know, be yourself," He shook his head and grinned. "I guess that's why I spend a lot of time outside now," He looked at Lizzie as she fell silent and gave a subtle nod, understanding that he would find out later. It was as if they were having a private and silent conversation that only consisted of only looks and body language. He smiled at the thought.

He grinned and nodded, "Sorry, I guess you get that a lot," He could tell by her facial expression that she did. "Yeah, was pretty interesting wasn't it? So, how you been?" He rubbed the back of his neck another thought coming into his head, "Hey, um, Via? If you see Juliet, tell her I said hi," He chuckled lightly. Skater boy. If his sisters heard that he'd never live it down.

The vision of a dozen or so house elves cooking under invisibility cloaks poked into Daisy’s head. She imagined one cloak slipping off the pointed ears of Argle and then the house elf’s head bobbing along as if it were a balloon floating on the wind. “Weird,” she said with a twitch of the shoulders snapping herself out of the vision. “You’re right. They’re probably in an empty room which makes me wonder where the smoke is going. Must be a place with a big oven,” she reached over and grabbed a cupcake as if to emphasize this point.
”It is crowded. The other day I went in there to do some reading for history of magic and I couldn’t find a single chair was that was unoccupied. They were all taken up by the Slytherins.” She ripped the lining off her cupcake with the tip of her tongue sticking out from between her pressed lips. “Say, what do you think they’re going to do with our secret entrance once they’re gone? I mean, I don’t know about the rest of you, but I don’t know how to get into the Slytherin Common Room.” Not that she was certain she’d want to. “It’s not particularly fair that they’ll know how to get into ours right?”

She glanced around the table hoping nobody got the wrong impression. She liked Slytherins, Roland in particular. He seemed nice and even offered her some butterbeer as an ice breaker. But tradition was tradition. She wondered if they’d put up a new portrait over the hole of if they’d maybe move the entrance all together. How odd would that be next year? She thought to herself. Coming back from summer holiday to find out the entrance I’ve used for the last 4 years has moved. But what other solution was there? The staff surely wouldn’t use a memory charm on all the Slytherin students…or would they?

No, Daisy assured herself. Too many things could go wrong.

Yeah I know Lizzie agreed. It gets slightly crowded.. Now that she thought of it, she hadn't spent more than the few seconds it took to walk from the dorm to the portrait hole in the common room for the past few days. She was much to afraid of who she might bump into.. Or rather which two people..

Deciding she couldn't stand the great hall much longer - it was way to crowded and loudly by now - Lizzie decided to start doing all the homework she had saved for later. Hey guys she said to the crowd around. Sorry but I've gotta go now, I'll see you all around, ok? She turned to the new girl she'd just met, saying It was nice meeting you Daisy, I'm sure I'll see you around. Eyeing Jesse she quickly said If want to do that homework now Jess, it would be a good time. I could need some fresh air... and she got up from the table waiting to see if he'd join her now or later.
