MUGGLE STUDIES LESSON 3

SUBJECT – It will definitely have to do with WATER

DATE: Beginning 5:00 p.m. GMT (12:00 noon EST, 9:00 a.m. PST) Saturday, July 25. Homework will be assigned, and the class will run for a few days. Don’t worry!

First, I would like to announce that due to an unfortunate chain of events, Muggle Studies class will be held on the 3rd Floor of Hogwarts (in the Charms classroom area, which Professor Ashby is kindly letting me share) rather than the usual location.

Apparition Lessons
Lesson 2 Information

*Lesson 2 will be for students of all ages (1st - 7th), as the topic is Side-Along Apparition (and the older ones need someone to practice on :P).

Important Notice: This is the second and final Apparition lesson to be held at Hogwarts this term. Apparition 3 will be held for 6th and 7th years only, and they will be transported via side-along apparition to the Ministry of Magic. While there, they will actually take the Apparition test to qualify for a license. Kris and Tiff have graciously set it to where when you pass, we can edit your Apparition license into your post profile the same way OWLs and NEWTs are done. All participating 6th and 7th years who complete and pass the Apparition test will receive a license in their post profile.

In the meantime, Lesson 2 will be for all students 1st - 7th years. Get ready for...

The muggle game of baseball!

Our groundskeeper, Mr. Masterson, has graciously agreed to assist us with this lesson. Game points will be scored and turned into gold stars. As with last lesson, gold stars will be turned into house points---so come on out, prepare yourself for apparation, and maybe earn a few rewards for your house while you're at it!

When: Lesson 2 will begin Sunday, July 26 around 3 PM EST.

Where: On the grounds of Hogwarts (thread will be created Sunday)

--------------------

OOC: Regardless of whether or not you attended lessons last term, you may still attend the new lessons. If you didn't attend Apparition 1 this term, no worries. You may, of course, attend this lesson.

MUGGLE STUDIES LESSON 3 HOMEWORK

There are 5 questions, worth 2 points each. There is an extra credit question at the end worth up to 5 points.

1. Name one favorite place where the muggles enjoy vacationing which is located near the water.

2. Refer to the textbook referenced in the first post of this thread. Which water sport sounds the most fun to you?

3. What muggle food do you think would be the most fun to eat by the seaside?

4. What is one disaster which could cause flooding inside a muggle building?

5. Besides the water sports, what is one more reason the muggles like to be by the sea that you can think of?

Extra credit -

Why do you think the muggles see the merpeople as being overly attractive? (Just a brief reason is fine. You don't have to write an essay for this!)

Please owl your answers to me, Slytherin Fox, on or before 12:00 midnight EST Monday August 3, 2009. Please include your screenname, house and user number (your user number can be found by highlighting your mouse over your name and looking towards the bottom of your screen.)

"Your homework, due at the beginning of next class, is to practice the spell with a partner or two. Do not practice alone, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to find a partner. First and second years, be sure to find a partner who is at least a fourth year. The spell is bestiar (body part), and think of the body part of the animal you want as you have the other student cast the spell on you. Send the links of you're posts doing the homework to Waddles with all the usual stuff.
