She wanted to whoop as their combined efforts finally stopped the merman in his tracks, and right before he poked Anna with his trident. "Where is Posiden when you need him?" she muttered side stepping another grindylow.

She was just glad Anna was alright and so was Chris. And she actually had a hand in protecting the Head Girl. She should get a box of chocolate frogs for that. She was easily the smallest person up there, not to mention the water was up to her waist and everyone else was kicking around in calf deep water!

There wasn't time for a victory dance, not when there were more merpeople out there, just ready to strike. And even the grindylows, they were dangerous. The water was up to his thighs now but he didn't care, he had helped save Anna woot! Looking around now he waited until things started up again. Where was his hyperness when he needed it?

She let out a frustrated huff of annoyance and turned toward the Head Boy who was mumbling something. Nathaniel's floating form followed Bunbury's glance and the upside-down boy's head came oddly close to making contact with Clifford.

Rolling up his sleeves, Clifford waded a little toward the adults. "Professors, shouldn't we get some of the younger students away?" He asked, slightly breathless. By younger students he meant the ones that kept THROWING themselves at the merpeople like little psychos.

"YEAH, Head Boy CARDEN, here, take this one and lock him up somewhere! And Dani Devouche and any other idiots who try using 'sectumsempra' on the merfolk!"

And with that order, she lowered Nathaniel down until he was less than a foot of the ground. She released the mobilicorpus spell and then the boy was Clifford's problem.

Plymouth escorted Evolette towards the shrieking and... "Holey Harpoons, what.." Plymouth reached for Evolette's hand and his wand. "Maybe you should head back... I'm going to go see... WHY IS EVERYONE SHOOTING everyone ELSE??? We come in PEACE!!"



Hmm. Why are there merpeople wanting to see the Headmaster would have probably been a smarter question, but Plymouth wasn't thinking straight. Plymouth pulled Evolette close to him and held up a peace sign with his other hand. His wand into his mouth (Yes, Lawson, be proud that he at least BROUGHT his wand).

Just as she'd casted her spell, she suddenly became aware of a few of her friends dashing to her rescue. Nate was congratulating her, and she momentarily glanced up and tossed him a thumbs up sign. She couldn't look away for too long, though. Merlin knew what this creature would try and do to her if she became distracted for too long.

Then there was Clifford...the guy she'd just determined really wasn't so bad after all. He'd saved her from the merman just as she'd saved him from the terrifying water. Lyra and Chris had been there, too. Lyra, of course, being the one who'd referred to her as Banana. Chris has bravely fought the merman off with nice spellwork of his own, too. "Th--Thank you, guys," she said, a smile forming on her face despite the current circumstances. It was good to have friends.

"Ha! Take that, you overgrown fish!" she called out, cackling loudly as she watched him fall victim to the many spells casted at him at once. With her wand still raised, she spun around, looking to see if any other creatures dared to come her way.

Chris grinned slughtly as Anna thanked him and the rest, "You're welcome. Now what else do we do?" he said looking around at the chaos.

Great. Nathaniel was NOT done talking to BunButt. He'd take care of it later. He did not like the whole floating thing. Not at all. Actually it was making him.. sick. Just then he barfed ALL OVER her and the Head Boy.

There was nothing he could do now. He'd already puked alll over BunButt and the Head Boy. This was not helping his case was it? "JUST.LET.ME.FIGHT!" he managed to spit out. He would totally fight their way.. even if it was the lame way..

What on earth was going on?

Evolette blinked as she followed Plymouth, and apparently, he was just as confused as she. Her eyes jumped from person to person, and she only barely felt Plymouth take her hand, or pull her closer to him.... she was too distracted by the goings on!

....What if the mermen kidnapped her? She was AWFULLY pretty... who wouldn't want to kidnap her?

EEP! She clung tighter to Plymouth's hand. EEEEEP.

He did not like the way that Merman looked at Reese at all. But fortunately it turned from her.. to go after Anna.

Hearing Reese sigh, he turned to her and gave her a big hug. It wouldn't really do much, but it might comfort her.

Please do as the Professor asked and defend the entrance to the Headmaster's Office."

She didn't have time to talk medical.

Holding her breath to guard against the gross smell, Anastasia quickly vanished the barf off both herself and Clifford. It was the least she could do for that boy considering he WOULD be taking Nathaniel off her hands.

"And you are NOT fighting because you don't know how to fight smart! You should be casting relashio at all the grindylows, not jumping on mermen!" she told the kid with one fist on her hip. She could have continued the lecture but just then Annie spotted some Slytherin girl and Plymouth Morgan pop up like la-de-dah.

"YOU TWO --- don't just stand there looking pretty, keep the grindylows from getting to Bontecou's office! C'mon!"

Honestly, sometimes these children made her feel like she was surrounded by idiots.

Well, ok, at least Anna and Reese weren't hurt. And the big bully of a merman was now unconscious in the water. Good. He deserved it for being mean and hitting on Reese!

"Are you ok?" he asked Reese, looking around at the other merpeople who were around them still. WHERE HAD THE GRINDYLOW'S GONE? Their abscence made him uneasy, and he couldn't see them anywhere. Hopefully they left to go find another big bully to tag along with?

Clifford blinked at Bunbury.. and the kid that clearly had a deathwish. She wanted him to.. what was that? Lock him up somewhere!? Was she insane? How on Earth was he meant to do that?

"What the...?" EWWWWW!!! The Head Boy very nearly emptied his own stomach the Gryffindor decided to PUKE all over him! Completely forgetting he could easily perform magic to clean the mess, Clifford ... flailed. Like a girl.

Until Professor Bunbury cleaned him that was. He still didn't like her from that last Herbology lesson. Hmpf.

Now he was stuck with a kid who didn't want to be stuck with him? Great.

"CAAAAAAAARRRRRRRROOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIINNNNNN NEEEEE!!!" he yelled as she attended to the wound. "Merlin woman you could have given me a little more notice than that." Yeah he was such a girl at times. Marcus waited until she was finished and he turned around and faced her.

He shot her a look that clearly said 'I'm not going anywhere.' "Nope I am staying, the kids need some kind of direction anyway."

He moved through the water and he could see one of the Merpeople floating in the water. "Nice work. But don't get complacent there are more around here somewhere. Don't let them get through the door and don't provoke them." He pointed to his shoulder that now held a large bandage. "You see what happens when you do. Defend the door and just hold them off."

The height of the water and Paris lack of height was brining the grindylow closer to face. "Relashio!" she shouted at them. This was a good time to rethink that enlarging charm on her legs.

She moved from her hiding place back in front of the Headmaster's door. They had to protect his office at all costs, and as long as she was holding on to her wand she would protect Hogwarts. "Stupfy!" she fired at grindylow that was moving toward her faster than she liked. She looked around to make sure no one was in dire need of help.

ZOMG MERMAN COMING AT ANNA'S WAY. Cam was prepared to attack the fishman himself, using nothin' but his bare aaarms. WRESTLE the thing, all right but ... he figured using spells would be mooore effective. And then basically EVERYONE came to Anna's rescue and the stupid fishman dieded! WEEE! He glanced at the still-bleeding Lawson and grimaced. The nurse woman was tending to him right? NOPROFESSORDEATHPLZ. Oh if there WAS another death this term, his parents might even stop him from coming to this school. And if it was a professor... definite no to Hogwarts. Evarrrr.

Water. Going. Higher. It wasn't THAT high to reach his head but... still. Fear. Cam waded closer to Clifford's direction--he knew how to swim right?! Right. He just assumed he did.

...and someone barfed. EWWWW EW EW he tried his best not to get near the water where it happened, wading closer to Anna. Where there any grindylows near?!

"DIEEE YOU FISHES! DIE DIE DIEEEEE. I can pollute this water if I want to!" he threatened the ones still alive and conscious. Yup. He could. He COULD. "STUPEFY! STUUPEFY!" he yelled at random directions.

Aislynn remained calm, she expected as much coming from her. "I am not going to defend the entrance," she said. "I am not going to fight, I can help out here. There are bound to be more injuries, you might get overwhelmed."

Aislynn saw some of the merpeople go down, "Perhaps we should help them too? Perhaps their minds are corrupted. If we show them compassion, perhaps we'll get it in return. They...they..." she didn't know what to say, but she hated the thought of all the fighting going on around her. This was insane. There had to be a way to handle things without wands and spears.

"Yes, because I MEANT to puke on you." he said as he shot BunButt a evil look. Maybe he did mean it maybe he didn't. "Maybe you should have not ya know, HUNG ME UPSIDE DOWN!" he half yelled at her. "Maybe they should have grabbed YOU by the throat. Oh dear Professor BunBUTT!" he grinned. "I think you would have freaked out like I did."

"My bad, dude." Nathaniel said to the Head Boy. He didn't mean to puke on the guy. He didn't knoow him. He busted out laughing when the boy FREAKED out though. That was very humorous.

Plymouth changed his wand to his Peace Sign hand and swished it in the water. "But how do you know they don't want to just talk to him, Professor B? I like to talk to him." Err.... "Protego!" Plymouth made a shield for himself and his Evolette McKenna. He tugged her with him and waded towards the door.

"Everyone just think positive! That's what my mom says!" Plymouth turned his shield on the .. Merpeople. It's not like they could send owls or fish, so maybe they were making a house call? "Stick with me, Evolette McKenna! And we'll defend this here door!"

WOo whatever. Plymouth just did what Professor B said to do. He didn't want her hurting anymore lilies out of anger.

.. what was CLifford doing? Flapping? Did it help? Plymouth started flapping too. CLIFFORD WAS A MAN, and Plymouth knew this, so it must the thing to do. FLAPFLAPFLAP Go away Merpeople FlAPFLAPFLAP

Satine had stood back behind the group of older students to insure she was out of their way...there was nothing worse than getting in the way of those that were actually making a difference. She had decided to bring up the back just in case a grindy or a merperson broke through the front lines. Then she heard Professor Bunburry tell some students to keep the grindy's at bay, so she decided that this was a job for her. Eventhough she was a firstie, she was very talented and decided her talents could be of service at the door.

She ran over to the door avoiding the older students who were doing a great job holding off the merpeople. As she ran, she flicked her wand out of her wrist holster to be prepared for anything.

When she reached the door, she joined the other two students already there in fighting off the grindys.

"I'm here to help!" she said taking a defensive stance with her wand at the ready.

"Stupefy!" she yelled loudly as she pointed her wand at a particularly slimy grindy that had reached out for her as she approached. The grindy flew backwards. She smiled at her self and started sending more spells towards the grindy. Yes this was a great way for her to help.

Evolette, interrupted from her thoughts by a rather annoying Bunbabbit, simply kept looking, trying to figure out what the heck was going on. She had no idea.. she'd just got there. And.... and... MERPEOPLE.

The door. Fine. She would help defend the freaking door... but she'd better not get her hair wet.

She tugged at her wand, pulling it out of her pocket... but immediately became distracted when Plymouth started flapping...

Had EVERYONE gone mad?

When snob arrived and stated her lame case, all he could do was snort. Typical of her to suggest something like that. when the things wanted to eat them?! "What happens if we help them and they try to eat us again? Or stab us? Like Professor Lawson."

When Reese felt something wrap it's arms around her, she wanted to scream. She thought she was getting attacked, again. But, then the thought hit her that merpeople couldn't wrap their arms around humans. Could they? She sure hope they couldn't! She slowly turned her head to face the thing that wrapped it's arms around her and she sighed when she saw it was Torin. "Torin," she said as she returned his hug. She was scared, yes. Knowing that that merthing wasn't the only one out there, made her cling tighter to Torin.

Reese let go of Torin and turned towards Jack. "Yeah, I'm okay," she answered. Her eyes wandered back to the unconscious merperson. "Thanks for standing in front of me," she said, direction that thank-you to both Torin and Jack. She leaned against the wall and looked at Torin then to Jack. "Where do you think the Grindylows went?" She asked. Right when the question left her mouth, she looked down at her feet. She didn't want to be attacked by a grindylow!

Rave nodded at the Professor who spoke. Her translation of what he said? Get between the Merpeople and the door and dont let them pass. So, sloshing as she walked, Rave made her way over to the door way, turned her back to it and kept on her guard.

He smiled as he hugged Reese. "If I didn't stand in front of you, I would be a bad best friend." He winked at her. Then he headed over to the office door. "Bunbury said to guard the door, so we must." He was such a suck up for her. Sigh.

"I dunno where the Grindylows are, Reese," he added to her question. He didn't really care either as long as they were far away from him and Reese.
