He smiled for the second time from the time they had met. Good thing. Alice knew he was thinking of something in his mind related to their previous conversation. She wished she could read his mind. His small figure nearly equal to her height never got tensed up except the quick emotions for the cookie thing. Alice wondered why she was doing all this investigations!! But she had no clue about her own odd behaviour.

"Thank you." Alice said, admiring his kind nature besides the possessiveness over his mother's home made cookies. But all her smart mind was wanted to taste that cookie to find out how it taste alteast. She broke the silence again, "Do you have lotta friends here at Hogwarts?"

Ruby smirked when he mentioned Sakura's cryptic ways "yes she has a tendancy to do that doesn't she?" Ruby thought about what he had said and replied "at this moment i am willing to try anything" she looked out of the window and sighed and said out loud "anything to take away the fact i murdered my uncle"

"You do know that memory charms if performed wrong can damage your psyche and cause more damage and pain than you felt before they were performed. If someone isn't careful they could wipe your entire mind and then where would you be?" he asked raising a brow in a question. "You only did so because of the murders he committed. Let the dead bury the dead and the living celebrate their lives. Mourn the losses because they are many but celebrate the good times because they are few." He told her, butchering a few muggle quotes.

Theo smiled at her, "You are welcome." He looked down at the rest of the cookie in his hand, and shook his head, "I don't have any friends really. I know the Gryffindor Prefect and the Slytherin prefects. And also Lyra and Paris. But I don't know if they are my friends."

"Love you too Tasha." She smiled at her and nodded. "Guess we would have alot of fun. Like when we were little." She grinned at her renembering the times they were always together before Tammys hogwarts days.

"Feeling alot better now Ive told you. I was going to write but I had to go through their stuff and that so I wasnt up for writing. I was going to I promise."

Ruby nodded "i know that they can go wrong Reid," she sighed and said "my mother believed that Zxaviour was on the rightous side and it destroyed her when she found out it was i who had killed her brother, " Ruby thought about what he said and nodded "i kinda agree with that but it was hard covering up the fact i used an unforgiveable and my Professor was there" she looked at him and asked "do you know what house you want to be in?"

"As I'm joining in my sixth year I've already been sorted. I'm proud to say I made it into Slytherin." he informed her with a smirk. "Dumont right? I'm sure he thought that the ends justified the means, after all he got his family back didn't he? I know that your mother was upset but she loves you more than she loves her brother and she will get over it eventually." Reid said while shrugging nonchalantly.

Sarah looked around and saw a girl and a boy talking she smiled as she opened the door to the compartment they were in. "Mind if I join you?" She asked hoping that they wouldn't mind, she had been looking for some people to talk to for ages and until now she had only met one person. She hoped that they wouldn't tell her to go away.

Alice felt her stomach rumbling both at the smell and the sight of the cookie. The smell was delicious, mouth watering. Unawaringly she rubbed her stomach, not knowing when was the food trolley or whatever they called would come.

She started bitting her nail now, kept the cookie in the other hand carefully. "Oh." she mouthed, amusing at some of the new names she heard in her life for the first time. "I have none so far," her voice was calm, expecting the bat to return.

Ruby smirked and said "Slytherin eh well at least i can chat to you in the evenings eh?" she thought about what he had said and replied "yes Dumont he is the Muggle Studies professor, i hope my mother does get over it."

"You can come find me whenever you wish to speak, if you know a girl called Shana then you may sometimes find me with her." he said while nodding in agreement.

Reid turned his head slightly when the compartment door slid open. He immediately readjusted his features into a pleasant easygoing grin. "I don't mind if you sit with us but it is really up to my companion." Reid told her keeping his tone light and friendly, making sure not to scare the little girl, it was not good to make a bad first impression.

Ruby smiled and said "thank you i know Shana too"

Ruby looked at the girl that had walked in and sighed and pointed to the seat next to Reid

"You need to take the raisins out. Eddie doesn't eat the cookie," Theo said, as she seemed to be holding it out. "That is why I eat the cookie, and he eats the raisins."

Alice nodded, "Okay." she picked out the raisins from the cookie, keeping them on the seat beside her. "Do you have any other pets except Eddie the bat?" she looked at him, handed over the half cookie back to him once she finished up the work.

But the bat was not there. She felt slightly disappointed. "I think I should have bought a pet for my own," she admitted honestly, leaned in to rest her forehead on her knees. Feeling like she was going to faint without food.

Theo smiled. "He'd prefer it if you held them in your hand. He likes the warmth. The seat is a bit cold." He took the cookie back and put it back in the little plastic bag, and then in the trunk.

"I only have Eddie. I bought him in first year. Nia has an owl, and I didn't want one. And Eddie was small like me. He will stay small though, and I will grow lots, like my daddy." He smiled and patted the bat on his shoulder. He picked him up and held him in his hands. "He is cute really. And doesn't hurt people." He rested the little bat on his finger, so that he could get the raisins from Alice.

Sarah looked at the big boy and was a bit scared but when she first saw him. but when he smiled she smiled back. "Hi I'm Sarah." She said as she looked at him, she was a bit nervious of him but tried to relax and smile. She went and sat down next to him. Hoping he wouldn't mind.

Sarah looked at the girl and smiled. "Hi I'm Sarah Winchester." She said as she held out her hand for her to shake.

"No. But my Aunt Naomi is ill. So, her daughter my cousin stays with us. Her name's Regina. She's nine year old." She asked, curiously,"You transferred, right? Where did you go earlier?"

"She's interesting and kinda sweet. She didn't like my height too much though." he mused slightly. "Hello Sarah, I'm Reid Hemingway," he said in a soothing tone of voice. The same tone he used with the startled or frightened animals he sometimes encountered. He had learnt that it helped with calming them down and he was applying the same principal here.

Alice smiled. He was talking like an owl expert. She was listening him with wide eyes. "Wow. You're so fond of owls. Are not you?" she picked up the raisins from the seat and held it in her palm so that the bat could pick up easily.

"Is your dad tall?" Alice watched Theo as he beamed when he mentioned about his father. "And I know the bats didnt grow fast," she shared her lil knowledge about the owl.

"Hello Eddie..come on..here.." she called out the bat, with her palms opened.

"I hope she gets better soon." She smiled. "Some School, I can't remember the name of the place." She giggled, "I'm no good with names." She smiled. "I had to come here when my mum and dad died." She said as she tried to keep the tears from coming. "I live with my aunt and uncle."

Theo shook his head, "No I don't like owls. They are scary and poop alot." Nia's owl liked to bite him, so he only used it on special emergencies. And his mummy sent her owl, with the cookies.

"He is really really tall. He is huge. Like as tall as a door," he smiled, "I want to be as big as my daddy when I am older."

"Eddie will always be small. It is the type of bat that he is," he said, "He is a Spotted Winged fruit bat. They only grow to be 5cm tall."

The little black bat flew towards Alice and stole the little raisin off her hand, he then returned to Theo's shoulder to eat it.

Mia cursed herself mentally. Why was she always so tactless!" I'm sorry", she said. She squeezed Sarah's hand as though to comfort her.

Alice giggled. "Ofcourse i agree." she nodded her head, " We had one back home. But she was dead in that tragic accident with my parents, " she looked bit sad of thier pet owl's sudden demise along with her parents.

Alice imagined Theo as tall and huge like a door in future. The thought made her giggle again, "Why you want tobe as tall and huge as your dad?" she had no idea why he did want it, honestly. But it was his wish. She didnt know she was becoming a talkative in quick span of time.

Her mouth fell open when the bat flew down and picked up a single raisin from her palm without hurt her. "Wow. She's brilliant!" she almost shouted in amusement.

"Because I am only small. One day I want to be bigger than Nia. That is all," Theo frowned. He had always wanted to be bigger. Being small was for when you were young, but Theo was 13 now, and still looked like an 8 year old.

He nodded, "He is really cool. He sleeps upside down on my bedpost at night. He is funny as well."

Sarah looked at the Mia. "It's okay, you didn't know." She smiled as she tried to keep the tears from coming. She looked at Mia and smiled when Mia squeezed her hand, she decided to try and get Mia to thinking about something else. "So what you going to do when you get to hogwarts?"
