Lizzie's eyes widened slightly, but then again she wasn't very surprised. She sobbed once, feeling completely forgotten, ugly, useless and lonely. Get a grip of yourself Liz! she thought to herself. He didn't mention it to me she mumbled, but still she completely understood him. Good way to end a relationship, huh? "Sorry but I'm in love with someone else"... Right.

Just as she thought she understood him, her mind changed completely and she took a deep breath trying to calm herself down. Paris you say? she asked Marcus quietly. Paris the quiddich player... Her eyes dropped to her hands again as she remembered the time Chris had tried to teach her how to fly, and tears appeared again.

I'm sure he planned to tell you... sooner or later. Marcus said the words hesitant, not wanting to upset Lizzie but still wanting to keep her real. But it'a a bit odd how they're dating just a day after he broke up with you... He wanted nothing against Chris, but he cared a lot more about Lizzie's feelings. When she asked about Paris and then seemed to drift off into thoughts his eyes narrowed and he studied her face. You're not planning on doing anything stupid now Liz..? he asked, taking a good grip around her wrists. Leave it and forget about Chris and Paris. Otherwise you'll just be sad. You wanna talk about something else? He looked down and noticed how hard he was holding her arms in his hands, her tiny and fagile arms... Sorry he mumbled and let go, keeping one of her hands in his. You'll be ok Liz.

Shana walked down to the first floor,What she was doing here was un-known.She still hadnt found Jake or Cam so mabye thats what she was doing buut oh well.Shana sung quietly to herself,no matter how tone deaf she told herself she was she couldnt stop singing.As long as no one else heard she was okay.Im your biggest fan,I'll follow you until you love me,Pa-Parazzi. she sung quietly.If only real life could be like songs or fairytales,She sighed.Mabye then she could acctually get a boyfriend.Not that she wanted one yet naaah to early she was only 12.She shrugged and then she spotted Mel.MELLLEYYY! She screamed at the top of her tone deaf voice.Haai Duuude-Ette.Long time no seee.she beamed.

Her head was still on his shoulder, so she didn't meet his eyes. She didn't even react when he held her wrists in a tight grip and spoke to her about forgetting about Chris. She just mumbled Don't worry Marcus, I'm just fine... and then closed her eyes, tired. Her hand still in his, she relaxed a bit and took a deep breath. Surely this was way better than sitting alone at least. She smiled slightly, thankful for her friend's comfort.

Melanie continued to hum the song under her breath, struggling to think of words still, a bit frustrated with herself for not being able to remember the lyrics.

Buuuut then she heard someone else making...a weird noise as they made their way down the hallway. Immediately Melanie's head snapped up figure out what in the world was making the ridiculous noise. As she realized what she was hearing was some sort of song, the second year muttered something to herself that sounded a lot like 'tone deaf walrus' before peering around the corner to see...Shana. Fighting back laughter Melanie made her way over to her best friend grinning at her as she yelled out her name. "Heey Shana!" she called over to her waving as she skipped over. "Whatcha' singin'?" she asked her curiously. Hmm hopefully she would simply tell her...not sing it. Oh please don't let her sing it.

Sighing at her words Marcus decided to drop the subject. He carefully watched Lizzie sitting beside him, half asleep, and he smiled a bit. His thoughts wandered to the end of last term when he'd started feeling this protective and loving around Lizzie. Tiny Liz, she'd been Chris' girlfriend as long as he'd been on this school (one year but still). He wasn't gonna use this new situation to win her heart, but he absolutely didn't want her to cry alone. That was why he stayed completely still on the stone floor. After a while he quietly wondered I'm glad I found you Liz, wouldn't be to comfortable on this floor all alone y'know he winked.

Shana smiled as her besst friiend everrrr approached her.Nothing,Just this muggle song I heard over the summer is all. she beamed.She hoped Mel didn't want her to sing cause that would be sooooooooooo embarresing for herself.She smiled.Have you seen that muggle film..Whats it called now ? Alvin and the chipmunks ? she smiled and then began singing the song over in her head hoping it didnt accidently slip out of her mouth.Wont you take me to. Fuunky Tooooooown.She smiled at Mel and tied her hair up.

"Yep" Vanessa nodded sadly, she missed her common room, and she probably wouldn't see it again, considering that it was her final year. "From what I've heard...." Vannie nodded, it one of the towers. Lovely. Nice and high. "at least we won't get flooded there." Vanessa giggled, glad that she was out of the water, even though it hadn't be that high, it had still scared her a little.
"I need to owl my mum....get her to send me some of my clothes..." She nodded with a smile. She should probably tell her mum about the flooding too really.

"Yey....I really need to get good grades this year Miles...or I won't get on that healer program." Vanessa nodded, although she knew that if she just studied that she would get those grades, if she tried anyway.

Lawliet made his way swiftly down the first floor corridor, heading directly towards the Dueling Arena. He hadn't done this in a while and he was looking forward to it, especially with another Slytherin. As he kept walking down the corridor, he passed by a few people, not really paying attention to what was going on. Once he reached the portrait, he quietly spoke the password and walked through into the Dueling Arena.

"What song is it? I'm muggleborn you know" Melanie asked curiously, adding the last part for good measure, as she spun in a circle around Shana and she continued to hum along to the song.

Cursed song, getting stuck in peoples heads and such.

It was so catchy though...Still humming along to the lines, continuing to spin around by Shana, making her brunette hair fly up.

Melanie blinked cluelessly at her as she brought up some film called....what was that?.. Alvin in the chipmunks. Of course the title of the movie didn't sound familiar to her though. She was pretty young to have heard of it... "Nope." she replied promptly to Shana, giving her a small shake of the head.

As she noticed the familiar bobbing of her friends head though, Melanie ceased her spinning to get a good look at her, the attempt having the opposite effect. As she halted she fell rather dizzily to the ground. "Ouch." she said grudgingly, eyeing the floor as if it had done her a great wrong as well as the air around her. Gravity was and always will be her enemy.

Melanie glanced up at Shana, now leaning casually against a wall as if nothing had happened, giving her an inquiring look. "Do you know the words? It's been driving me mad all day." Melanie informed her begrudgigly, a look of slight frustration on her face.

Shana smiled.Umm Pa-Parazzi By this person called Lady GaGa. she smiled and began to spin around like Mel.Wooo Dizzy.As Mel fell to the fall shana forced off the erge to laugh and offered a hand to help her up.You alright ? she smiled.Nope,I dont think i've ever heard the tune either.Mabye I have Im not so good at remembering. she shrugged and winked at Mel.

Melanie stared at Shana for a few seconds, considering this. "Why would her parents name her that?" she asked curiously. Her parents must have been weeeeeirdos. But then again if it was Melanie she would have changed it to something else if she were the lady. The Lady Gaga. Bwaha, she pitied the woman, she really did. "Never heard of her." Melanie added, offering her friend a small smile. Melanie eyed her carefully as Shana began to spin like a top, not wanting her to fall down as well....especially not wanting to fall on top of her...

Ohhhhhh no, but Shana Miller didn't fall, she just managed to ever so gracefully quit spinning. Apparently gravity had a thing for her, not letting her fall on her face... However as Shana extended her hand for Melanie to take Melanie gladly reached her own hand out, trusting her immensely.

Melanie gave her a wary look as she said she didn't know the song or the tune, especially as she winked. She wasn't sure whether to believe her or not... "Are you sure...?" Melanie asked, giving Shana a 'look'. "Because I could have sworn you were bobbing your head."

Shana smiled.Ummm...Her names not really Lady Gaga I dont think. she shrugged.Umm Nope.Im pretty suure I doont know it..I bobb my head quiiite alot so you know..You ought to get used it to. she beamed.Shana sniggered as a evil thought popped into her head.And suddenly POP! And Shana let go of Mel's hand and watched her drop back to the floor.Sorry I couldn't resite myself. she smirked.

Melanie nodded, giving Shana a small smile. "That would make more sense..." she replied....though she couldn't help but wonder why she'd want to name herself Lady Gaga... Whatever though.

Melanie stared at her blankly. She didn't really recall Shana's head bobbing a lot buuuuut if she said so. "Okay then..." she trailed off uncertainly, eying Shana out of the corner of her eye as if trying to catch a lie on her face.

Ready to get off the hard floor, Melanie tugged on Shana's hand, trying to pull herself up and off the ground, but just as she was about up on her own two feet Shana dropped her hand and the second year girl toppled backward yet again landing painfully on the stone floor.

Ohhhhhhh, but that time she didn't fail to take someone along with her, grabbing a hold of the top of Shana's arm...hopefully throwing the other girl off balance as well. Who did gravity have a grudge against now?!

AHHHHHHHH! CRASH! BANG! WALLOP!

Shana fell smack bang on the floor riight on top of Her BFF Mel.Eveeel Smiiiiirk.Bwhaha.That'd teach Mel a lesson for pulling Shana Miller onto the floor.Although due to Shana not eating practically at all these past two years,it wouldn't make much of a weight then again Mel was thin aswell so it miight.She smirked and stuck her tounge out at Mel.Ha Ha.Very funny. she rolled her eyes and smiled sarcastically at Mel.She trod on her foot gently and got up and began tying her laces.

Melanie let out a soft 'Oof' as Shana fell over on top of her, doing the only thing that made sense to do...

...Maybe pushed some?

"Gerroffme!!" the second year yelped, and as she did so she quickly hopped neatly to her feet, smoothing her brunette hair down, though it wasn't to much use considering how unruly it could get...

Melanie stared at her, with a mixture of contempt, uncertainty and amusement as she poked her tongue out at her. She crossed her arms trying to resist the urge. Nooooo she was more mature than that! She was going to do it, No, no, no...that would be going down to her level oooor....whatever her dad said.

But Melanie couldn't help it, within a few second she'd poked her tongue out at the other girl, regardless of how immature she knew she was being, crossing her arms. "Acctually, that sorta hurt." Melanie replied sincerely in response to Shana's sarcasm, rubbing her side. That had sorta been her fault though. "Let's not do that again any time soon..." she trailed off shaking her head.

Shana rolled her eyes.Your sarcastic to meee.Soo your just gettting was you derserve for tripping me over. she clapped her hands and beamed.Shana frowned.Im not thaaat heavy.I havn't ate in at least 9 days..I cant have puut that much weight onto you.Shana sighed in repsonse to Mels little oof When Shana landed on her.

Melanie rolled her eyes, deciding not to reply to that comment. She didn't think she deserved it, not one bit...

Even if she really did.

However, Melanie's hazel eyes grew rounder and wider at what she said next, her voice taking on a serious tone. "What?!" she asked, her voice filled with shock. "Aren't you, like hungry? Are you sick?! When my brother's sick he doesn't have an appetite...How can you go that long without eating? that can't be healthy...Humans are- are like plants...they need food and water and...I think they need sunlight...only unlike plants humans...They don't have photosynthesis!! Meaning you have to eat things...like shove them in your mouth and chew and- and swallow..." she babbled on and on, demonstrating the last part, and biting her lip nervously as she finished. "Let's go to the Great Hall." she said. It wasn't really a suggestion, more of a command... Melanie grabbed her elbow and began tugging her friend toward the Great Hall.

She. Would. Eat.

Shana frowned when her best friend started tugging on her elbow towards the great hall or something.OI! Im not hungry! OI! OI! DONT YOU IGNORE ME! I DONT CARE WHAT YOU SAY! I am NOT eating! Yet anyway.Im not hungry! she protested.Shana Miller did NOT get forced to do anything by anyone,esspecially her friends.If She wanted to eat then she would eat if she didn't then she wouldnt! And that was that!I dont wanna go to the great hallll. she said flailing her arms around.HEEEELP! SOMEBODY HEEELP MEEEE! she screamed at the top of her voice,hoping hopefully someone would hear.

Melanie heard her alright.

The second year did exactly as Shana said not to and carefully ignored her...though she had to admit it was pretty hard considering all the SCREAMING she was doing. Melanie just hoped she wasn't going to catch the attention of a teacher or prefect or- or weeeeeell anyone at all. Melanie was doing the good responsible kind best friend thing to do and taking her friend down to the Great Hall whether she liked it or not, because in her opinion there was no way Shana couldn't be hungry after going NINE whole days without food.

So she tugged harder on her elbow as she tried to get her to the Great Hall, though it was proving very VERY difficult with all the screaming and struggling.

"C'MON! It's not so bad....you have to be hungry..." Melanie said quietly, trailing off, with a worried expression on her face. She couldn't imagine going that long without eating anything....

"Sides' I bet they have....other stuff, like unhealthy food...you like un-healty food right? I really wish you would stop that shouting, your really starting to hurt my ears, you know... One day, I'll be deaf and we'll know who to blame." she grumbled under her breath, continuing to pull Shana along to the Great Hall. UGH...she had the feeling this may take a while.

Lyra strolled to the first floor corridor, the place looked familiar wasn't she here on her first day? She closed her eyes a bit trying to remember it. 'wow i have a baaaad memory' she thought and shrugged her shoulders a bit. Looking around she noticed a few other students, walked up to the wall and leaned against it waiting for Grace.

Coming out of the Dueling Arena, Grace wondered if she'd seen here before. Surely she must have passed from this corridor... while going to DADA maybe? But she couldn't tell when. Not giving too many thoughts on the subject, she looked for Lyra as she saw some girls--no, Melanie!-- arguing over--hunger? What? 'Yes, I'm a pencil.' she thought and smiled to herself a bit and then smiled to Melanie. Ah, there Lyra was. Grace walked towards her and asked "Now, what do we do?"

"I'm impressed, Cela-girl. Jealous that you asked Anna to help you with this project instead of me," he teased. Well, it wasn't ALL teasing considering all the other things he was jealous of. And he wasn't even her boyfriend or anything, so that he was allowed to be jealous. SIGH. Life was easier without a Celandine, but it was a lot less colorful.

"Mmmm well I don't think that I'd have won a duel against you!" Celandine answered with a little giggle. She paused, waiting for it to sink in that she'd bested the HEAD GIRL in a duel. "Maybe you could help me in further research? You would be the perfect person to help."

"You're my favorite research partner," Copernicus agreed. "I'm pretty sure we revolutionized the raising of Abraxans this past year, and that was just year one of sharing our ideas and working together." He sort of wished he'd be around the next summer in order to work on some great project together all summer long.
