 You arrive in the dungeons, ready to serve your detention. You approach a desk situated in front of several doors and can hear strange noises coming from behind them. Suddenly, there is an ear-piercing scream and the staff member behind the desk smiles, warmly. Welcome to Detention!
Here is where students come to be punished. Please post your arrival in this thread and you will be assigned a detention hall. Once you have been assigned a detention hall, post your arrival in that detention hall thread and a staff member will be there to instruct you, momentarily.
Please keep in mind the following, special, rules for detention: Quote: Rule number one: Do NOT complain about being in detention. You are here for good reason and if you don't know why you are here, you obviously need to learn the rules and the proper way to behave at school. This is the perfect place to do that.
Rule number two: Please refrain from making ooc comments if at all possible.
Rule number three: Do not pester us to take you out of detention or complain when your detention is up and we haven't had a chance to take you out. Maybe you'll think twice next time. It is not our fault if you miss classes or Quidditch or can't post in the rest of the school!!
Rule number four: You must post in your assigned detention hall a couple times a day throughout the course of your detention to prove to us that you have actually shown up. (We understand there are circumstance where you may not be able to get online: the length of your detention is dependant on how many days you have actually posted. For example, if you are given two days of detention and you only post once a week, your detention will actually be for the two weeks it took you to post). A professor will give you instructions as to what you will be doing while here.
Rule number five: You must ONLY post in the detention hall assigned to you in this thread. If you are caught posting in detention halls you were not assigned to, your detention length will be increased.
Failure to abide by any of these rules may result in the professor extending your detention period. | |

Kazimeriz entered the detention check in area, sloshing and struggling to navigate through the rising waters. The mineral-rich smell of dank lake water filled his nostrils as he moved through it, the chilly water eating into his bones. His teeth chattered slightly as he worked his way back into the detention corridor. He wondered if he should just trust Truebridge. But what if he had missed a student? He continued past the water-logged check in area and into the cells. He had to check. He had to know.

Gritting his teeth, Ethan entered the check-in area, wading through the cold dank water. Where...? He looked around, the old man had come this way... and why? Was NOTHING he did good enough? Thoroughly irritated, Ethan waded through to check the cells. He looked up and dodged as a rat levitated past him, the little cat down his jacket letting out a mew of protest as he moved. Well, that proved that Krazimeriz was two things; somewhere down here and still crazy. He waded on.

Kazimeriz returned to the check in, pausing to lean against a pillar for a moment. He was winded and chilled, his teeth chattered hard enough he feared they might break. The water seemed higher here, but at least there hadn't been any students that he'd seen. Perhaps I should've trusted Truebridge at his word where student safety was an issue...
No time to think about that now. He wondered if the common rooms were clear. He tried to catch his breath, willing himself not to think about his aching joints, his hip... the cold.

Kazimeriz eyed the younger professor. He was still leaning against the pillar, working to calm his breath and regain some strength to journey on. But he certainly didn't want Truebridge to realize he was winded, or be seen as weak.
Ah, pride.
"I am... ensuring the safety of... my students. It would... not do... to have... left anyone behind." He spoke slowly, teeth chattering, trying not to show how labored his breath was. His blood boiled at the sight of Truebridge, which was in a queer way a blessing- at least it warmed him slightly.
"I suggest that you ... go.. to the Great H-hall. I must ch-check the Slytherin common room and you d-don't want to find yourself in over your head, Mr. Truebridge." He fixed Truebridge with a gaze only slightly colder than the rising lake water.

Kazimeriz raised an eyebrow as the man's pocket meowed. Then, someone --a girl-- began to scream. He looked down the corridor then back at Truebridge, alarmed and angry.
"It seems your search has failed at least one student, Truebridge. Not that I expected better from you." He spoke with disgust, then began to move down the hall toward the voice. It was terribly hard to wade without his cane! His hip ached, his joints ached, and the loathing in his veins for the other professor burned, but did nothing to relieve the pain of the icy waters.
