He hesitated and stayed near the wall, trying to guess what was going on. It looked like people were dancing, though how that related to defense was beyond him.

Clearly, observation and evaluation were never two of Lars's greatest skills.

Clearly Jake was distracted by Dani and didn't want to partner with her so she figured Professor Svensson was a safe bet. "Would you like to be my partner Professor?" she asked him meekly.

"It's Professor Lawson while we are in class Cedric. And yes Professor Svensson could do with a partner." He gestured at the Transfiguration Professor. "Just remember we are just practicing the Langlock curse at the moment."

Oh no. He was calling Jake over. She was about to tell him that was a bad idea, but then her tongue was stuck. Dang. She gave him a tight-lipped smile, refusing to expose her funny feeling tongue. She would not freak out. It would not happen. Suddenly she wished she knew how to use magic without speaking like she had seen some professors do. It was a strange sensation, not being able to control her tongue. She felt utterly defenseless, it was not nice. Not nice at all.

Marcus flicked his wand once more and lifted the spell of Dani. "So how did that feel? Not particularly comfortable is it?" he chuckled softly and put his wand away. "Your turn now."

...doing a few knee bends.

Then he rearranged his grip on the wand.

Okay. He could do this. "If you need a hug afterward, I'm okay with that."

Deep breath in, deep breath out. Plymouth closed his eyes, raised his wand and cast, "Langlock!"

Caroline tried not to glare.

And failed.

Touch me and I'll hurt you.

She stood completely still, waiting for the curse to be cast. Oh wasn't he a bad shot? She WOULDN'T jump in the path of a curse. That was just TOO MUCH to ask.

She didn't have to. He actually hit her.

"Ssstussfudddd?" she asked. Which meant, Satisfied? "Nuwwundit!!!" Now UNDO IT!!!

She would have to kill Lawson.

Dani shook her head and stuck out her tongue. She liked having it back. She wiggled her tongue back and forth a little before putting her wand back in the ready position. This was the best! "Langlock!" She said confidently and happily. There weren't many chances to curse Professors, especially ones that had a reputation for being full of themself. He was still her favorite though, after she had gotten over that whole abandonment thing anyway.

She tapped her foot a few times and studied the nails on her left hand, wanting to allow Anna the most time possible to feel the full effects of langlock, before looking back up at the girl and flicking her wand at her with another nonverbal. It probably was an unfair advantage the way she didn't even mutter spells anymore, but old dueling habits die hard.

"There you are, dear, I hope that wasn't too uncomfortable for you. All in the name of education, I daresay." She winked like there were no hard feelings between the two and then made a great show of setting her wand down on the floor in front of her. "I'm unarmed now, so, if you wish to take a turn and practice the spell... be my guest."

But only if Anna wished to end up as compost in the student garden practice. She didn't haaaaave to cast the spell on her fashionable, beautiful, humble Hebology professor if she didn't have to.... or did Bunz miss that instruction?

Oh, for the love of all things good and pink! Did she have to bring up the whole 'cat got your tongue' thing? As if this wasn't embarrassing enough, eh? Why did Professor Bunbury always have to win when it came to Anna? Merlin, even Cale had carved 'I Love Bunbunz' into his bedpost once last term! Then of course Colin MacKenzie just had to practically fall head-over-heels for Bunbury, too. As it both of those weren't enough, the professor had now, of course, beaten Anna at this little game of langlock.

She didn't reply to her cat and tongue question, for even if she'd wanted to, she couldn't. So instead, she settled for a momentary look of defeat. As soon as this spell was lifted, though, langlock plus Bunbury it was! Oh, lovely! Studying her nails...of course. Anna wanted to glare at the woman, but respect it was, and respect it would be. She glanced down towards the ground and tightened her grip on her wand. Now if only the spell were lifted...

When she finally found herself free from the spell, she quickly raised her wand and casted before the professor even had time to finish that whole 'There you are, dear,' sentence. "Langlock!" she called out, her wand pointed directly at the professor. Oh, please hit...please, please, please hit! "Thank you, Professor. I'd be honored to be your guest."

Lars' attention was jerked to a student standing practically right in front of him, and he flinched in surprise. "Partner... sure. Dueling partner, yes," Professor Svensson had finally realized that they were practicing the langlock spell. "Would you like to go first?" he offered. That would give him more time to recall what he knew about the curse.

Well, give it your best shot," he added, holding his hands out to prove how helpless he was at least trying to appear.

Jack felt the spell lift and immediately moved his tongue around, probably having the look of some strange sort of cow attempting to chew a big wad of grass as he did so. AHHH much better!

"Yeah, that was weird," Jack said with a chuckle, rubbing his jaw. "Much worse...and yeah, I know how to do it," he added with a nodd. He had learned the spell with the intentions of using it on his siblings once he became of age and COULD use it at home (and not at school where he would *gasp* get in trouble).

"Alright, here it comes," Jack said, pointing his wand at the Headmaster. Please don't take house points from me! he thought. With a flick of his wand he said "Langlock!" and held his breath, waiting to see if the spell would be successful.

Daniel raised his hand as he mutters the spell in his mind. "Professor, I wanted to try to do the spell, but I do not have a partner." He then hope it wasn't someone whom he had no good relations with.

At least Bunbunz could still breathe while her tongue was locked. And she needed to take several deep breaths just now, if her angry-nostril-flaring-arms-crossed-fake-smile-plastered-on face was any indication.

"Maaaahumamhum," Anastasia continued to fake smile and nod at the girl. Good thing her tongue was tied or she probably would've been fired for what she was trying to say just then. La. De. Da. The tongue-tied moment was done. Now they had practiced the spell. Could they move on to real dueling yet?

He followed after his curse with a little skippyhop to stand in front of Nurse Avalon. "A heal and a hug, coming up! Hehe!" Plymouth gave her a QUICK and dirty, butt-out hug. The spell hit and his tongue automatically stuck to the roof of his mouth. For the second time today and it was anymore pleasant than the first time it had happened. "Goo....jjjjj..." That meant good job. Marcus didn't bother to say anymore, what was the point? He gave Dani a thumbs up for her effort.

Oh, no!

She'd done it!

She'd now successfully won herself a ticket to the hospital ward!

She winced when she heard the professor's mumbles. She didn't even want to think about what she'd just said. Had Anna not been a seventh year, she could imagine herself easily winning detention for the entire duration of next school year for this. Maybe, if Professor Bunbury were still here thirteen or so years from now, she'd even throw Anna's future children into detention for this!

Just compliment her shoes, Anna...compliment her shoes! "Finite Incantatem!" Anna called out, lifting the spell. She didn't really know how to cast it non-verbally just yet. "Ohh, Professor Bunbury! What lovely shoes you have on! Are those Jimmy Choo's?!?!?" she asked. "You do look might nice in them, and they compliment your....eyes...quite well. What a fashion statement!"

Didn't anyone learn from Raiden's mistakes?

Perhaps it had been too long since he had dueled or watched a duel. Yes, that was a good excuse explanation as to why he had thought the students and professors were dancing. Nonetheless, Lars managed to take a defensive dueling stance and had opened his mouth to tell the student to go ahead and hex him before--

Er. Well, before the girl cast her curse and it hit him and his tongue was, well, stuck to the top of his mouth. The man grimaced and waited for his dueling partner to end the spell. She was going to end it, right? He really would rather save his focus for the dueling, not for finite incantatem.

Was it just Plymouth or was Nurse AVA LON REALLY excited too? Really, a simple hug back would have been more than enough, maybe a 'well done, Plymouth'. But the squealing/shouting/incoherent and impatient noises?

Aw shucks.

Errrr... "Questionable hygiene?" Plymouth raised his arm to smell his armpit. Hmm. Manly. Very manly. But good. Plymouth Morgan smelled good. He used Copernicus's smell good stuff on this particular day.

Since it wasn't him, Plymouth could only assume she was addressing herself or someone else? He didn't know what to say to that, really, so he just gazed at Nurse Avalon after he lowered his arm.

Finite FINALLY! Merlin's polka-dotted pants that Head Girl could move slower than molasses when she wanted to, eh?

Picking up her wand silently, Anastasia's blue eyes calmly and coolly met Anna's. "Yes. Nice wandwork, Miss Greingoth, and they are Jimmy Choo's." They had lovely little flames on them that just happened to match her current temperament too but she left it at that.

"So, are we to continue dueling or are you supposed to go write an essay on the effects of langlock now, hmm? Do you know?" Annie neither cared nor expected an answer from Anna; she was too busy craning her head around to find Marcus so she could lodge a complaint about allowing students to cast on them... even if she had agreed to it in advance.

Bunbury's only consolation at the moment, however, was the sight of a tongue-untied Avalon shouting at poor Plymouth Morgan. The redhead couldn't help but let a little 'hehe' escape from her mouth at the sight of the two. So she too had been a victim of one of his hugs. Ahhhhha. JUSTICE.

William crossed his arm, tapping his foot as he watched everyone partnering up, with professors even! He had no idea how long he'd been standing there, staring in blankness as he forgot he was in class. blushing furiously he slipped his wand back into its holster and edged over to the wall. Ok so he was suddenly feeling a bit nervous now as he sighed once more. Why not tattoo loner onto his forehead, or put it on with permanent marker?

Abby could not believe Plymouth had just given Miss Avalon a bear hug. It is so worth the pain of detention to watch this. I can die happy now. Miss Avalon has gotten her just dessert. Abby cracks a smile. "Bravo Plymouth, that's the best landlock hex I've ever seen."

Drat. It hadn't worked completely. Karma refrained from stomping her foot, as it seemed a little inappropriate at this point in time. Hmm.

Alright. She straightened up again, and loosened her shoulders. That had probably hindered her in the first place, her being tense. Shake it off. Now that she was done, she took her stance again.

Swish, flick, and, "Langlock!" she said, more forcefully.
