Aislynn went to an open area. She had her left foot slightly out, since she was right-handed. She looked down and kept her feet a shoulder apart. She didn't know exactly what to do with her hands, she had seen several different positions, but didn't know what was best for dueling. "Professor, where should we put our arms?" She put her wand hand arched over her hand. "I've seen it like this or..." she put her arm in front of her like she was going to punch someone, "...like this?" She felt like she was looking a bit ridiculous.

She moved away from Chris to have some room to move. Not that she was big, but her wand was 11 inches and she didn't want to poke anyone with it. She moved to a corner of the classroom and stood at the ready. It was weird trying to stand with her right foot first. She had been taught to lead with the foot opposite her wand arm. This stance didn't feel right to her and she felt like she was on the brink of tipping over.

she switched up her feet and tried it again. That felt natural to her, but she knew it wasn't right by British standards, but it was how she was taught.

Marcus smirked as he passed the kid who just fell on his butt and he paused for a moment. "A good way of getting hurt, is being distracted." He lent forward and spoke in a low voice. "I know it's hard when pretty girls are around but please try it could be the difference between life and death." He gave the kid a pat on the shoulder and moved over to the Gryffindor girl.

"Well of course your wand hand should be out and raised preferably with your wand in it. What you do with your other hand is entirely up to you. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable." He nodded and then moved back to the front of the class.

"Okay so now that you have practiced your stances let's move on." Marcus paused for a moment as he looked out over the students. "Right now I have watched a few of you in the dueling arena and I have found that a lot of you will cast a spell at your opponent without actually knowing what that spell is going to do. So for the next part of the lesson we are going to feel the effects of what some spells can do."

He turned to Caroline and gestured for her to come to the front. "Now to demonstrate, Miss Avalon is going to be casting a few hexes and whatnot at me, so that you can all see what they can do to a person." Marcus let out a long breath, he had to be insane to do this.

OH, man. Professor Lawson had noticed his sudden distraction. Oh well. He listened, still sort of blushing thanks to the previous situation, nodding to his words of advice. Good advice...life and death...no distractions. Sigh...He cleared his throat again, trying to make his mental state back to normal.

Demonstration...Yesh, please! Emiliano stood aside, ready to memorize and then practice. How good this class was turning...hehe.

Chris stepped out of his stance and relaxed for a second. But then he saw Em fall flat on his butt. He held back from laughing, but he noticed that glance Karma gave Emiliano. Aha. That's it Emiliano liked Karma! Oh so no wonder why he got distracted.

He then her Professor talk about a demonstration. Nice! At least they would be able to see what could happen soon.

Oh great, that's me.

Well no time like the present to humiliate yourself in front of a class full of students right?

Cari marched up to the front of the class and took her stance. Wow. It's been a LONG time. And there was a part of her that didn't think it was a particularly good idea to be hurling curses at Marcus... given... their history.

Well, this could only go two ways. Failure on her part... WHICH WAS UNACCEPTABLE. Or hoping Marcus didn't mind getting cursed by a girl.

Okay enough ruminating.

Cari aimed for the floor right ahead of Marcus' feet. "Reducto!" she cried. And without waiting, she cast another spell, "Langlock," she added for good measure.

She wasn't sure Marcus would be happy if she used a non-verbal spell, so she had to hope her distraction was enough.

Plymouth Morgan had his dueling stance down and perfected. He'd practiced in front of the mirror and he looked GOOD doing it, or so he thought. Plymouth gripped his wand (Yay he'd brought it to two consecutive classes!) in his right hand and scooted his right foot out.

His left hand was planted on his hip. Nurse AVA LON... was sure... yeah, was she checking him out? Plymouth looked over his shoulder to see just what Nurse AVA LON was doing. Oh getting ready to kill Professor Lawson? Hehe. Merlin, DADA was violent.


Flick flick flick. Plymouth Morgan had stance down. It was just that whole violent dueling part that got him. He put his wand away and went to stand closer to Professor Lawson. He probably needed a hug after Nurse AVA LON got done with him.


"WELL DONE NURSE! Well done!" Plymouth clapped.

This would have to be the hardest thing he had ever done. He eyed Caroline warily as he re-holstered his wand so that he was in no way tempted to defend himself or retaliate.

Marcus stood waiting on tenterhooks for Caroline to cast. He heard her cast and the next thing he knew, he was on his butt on the floor and his tongue was now glued to his mouth. Man, she was faster than he thought.

He got to his feet slowly and looked at the students. "Mmmm...ummm...ahhhh..." Bit hard to describe the feeling of having your tongue glued to the roof of your mouth when you can't talk. So he opened his mouth to show the kids what had happened to his tongue. Impressive eh?

Herminny cringed as she watched Professor Lawson allow himself to be hit by nurse Avalon and cringed a little and closed her eyes. When she opened her eyes again she was pleasantly surprised to see that Healer Avalon did'nt use any horrible hexes because she really did'nt want to see that. In fact it was kind of funny to see the professors tounge stuck to the roof of his mouth so he could'nt speak. She chuckled a little as she waited to see what would happen next.

Daniel almost giggled as the Professor showed them that his tongue was glued to the top of his mouth. He then looked at Plymouth and smirked, he doesn't want to sound and look rude so he looked away quickly. He had heard him compliment the Nurse. The Nurse was the one who accused Daniel of making the story about Bunbury and Lawson few months ago he thought. How would he forgive that.

He just nodded and smiled to hide his dismay. It is a good thing he wasn't always needing the hospital.

What other surprise could be given but seeing Professor Lawson's tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth. EEp...he thanked inside his thoughts that it didn't go further than that, like having Professor Lawson flying into air then landing right on his back.

That could have hurt. Mhmmm...

Chris watched as Nurse Avalon fired the spells at Professor Lawson. Apparently Avalon was not to be messed with, he thought to himself. He nodded as Lawson showed the class his tongue, and he nodded excitedly at Avalon too. That was impressive spell work on her part.

Celandine watched Professor Lawson and Healer Avalon from the demonstarted dueling stance. After a moment she shifted so that her weight was on her back foot and her centre of balance was lower. Keeping her head at the same height, she slid her foot back and switched her stance. She continued changing stances, working through the five she was most comfortable with quite methodically and smoothly while she watched, switching her wand from hand to hand as she did so.

He finally remembered that DADA was sharing with Charms when it was time for class to start and then he had to find the Charms place. Lovely. Of course he was late! But he did arrive.

"I'm here, what did I miss?" the headmaster asked, slightly out of breath as he burst into the room. "Sorry I'm late."

"But you might have at least TRIED to defend yourself," Cari muttered to her esteemed colleague. "Or at least kept your wand out."

Is it bad that she didn't want to reverse the hex?

She kinda liked him better this way.

"Maybe I should leave you like this..." she whispered.

No no. Fun as that would be. But she did hesitate for a moment to let him squirm at the thought.

Go with it Cari. Just be natural. "Marcus told me too," she said guiltily. Oh brilliant Cari. He now KNOWS you had the time of your life cursing the Defense Against Dark Arts Professor.

"Finite Incantatem," she muttered, red faced, unsticking Marcus' tongue.

Well it was easy to cast spells at someone when their wands weren't drawn and they were letting you cast on them. She wanted to see a real duel. But this was fun too. Almost like when Bunz and Lupa were fighting. That was actually really exciting. But of course those two had not been in their right minds. She was twiddling her wand between her fingers as they went through all the preliminaries before they got to actually duel.

Paris giggled as the Headmaster burst into the room out of breath. If he wasn't making her blush with his speedos he was making her laughing with his antics. She really liked him he was the most approachable Headmaster she had seen.

He rolled his eyes at her. He should have known that she would take great pleasure in doing this. When she finally unstuck his tongue, he rolled it around his mouth for a moment and opened and closed his mouth a few times. "Thank you Caroline. Don't get too cocky though, I might just have to return the favour." Marcus chuckled at her and then turned at the sound of the Headmaster's voice.


"Oh so good of you to come Headmster and you haven't missed much yet. We're just demonstrating a few hexes and jinxes and what they do to a person when they have been cast."

Marcus turned to the class. "Okay the Headmaster has kindly agreed to join in the fun today. Now as you just seen by our lovely Healer she has performed the Langlock curse upon me. We are now going to practice that for a few minutes. Find a partner to practice on. Myself, the Headmster and Miss Avalon are willing to let you practice on us. Just remember that we will be returning the favor so that you get to know what it feels like."

Great they were starting, she smiled. Yeah right she wanted to partner with the nurse or Professor Lawson. She liked her nose right where it was. Which was on her face.

She looked around for someone to partner with. She didn't want to pick William, she could already overpower him without her wand. She might really hurt him with her wand. She spotted Chris and she hurried over to him. "Want to be my partner?" she asked him with a smile.

"Hehe.... hehehehehe ...."

... "Hehe."


Plymouth was as red as the T-shirt he wore. Dueling had really never been so .... fun. Coughcoughcough. Funny how Plymouth always felt a little "sick" in the presence of current company. He gravitated towards Nurse AVA LON... She could langlock him. Plymouth didn't mind.

Constantine pushed open the door to the DADA classroom and walked in. He had been hailed in to help out with the lesson and he was more than willing too. Dueling was partially his forte. With his hands, yes. With a wand...mehhh, he did okay. Definitely why he was a groundskeeper.

"Alright, I'm here," he said, pulling his wand out and sighing.

Chris smiled brightly. "Heck yeah, Paris." he pulled out his wand, and whispered to her as he bowed toward his partner. "Like I would take my chances against Avalon, Lawson or the Headmaster." he laughed. He didnt want to end up in St. Mungo's. After bowing to her he took the steps back like Lawson had instructed and made his stance. Right foot ahead of his left and his wand arm outstretched.

She was his girlfriend and was unsure how hard to fight. He smiled nervously.

Herminny looked around for a partner, she noticed that Chris Potter was quickly taken,oh well. She then sptotted Celadine, eh what ever she thought as she walked over to Celadine and asked, "Whould you partner with me?".

Nothing in the world could have kept Anastasia Bunbury away from a lesson on dueling. For one, she loved to watch it. It was practically a sport to her. And for another, Marcus had asked her to attend. So perhaps she would get to curse a student or two or ten.

Slipping into the classroom as quietly as possible (considering the shoes she was wearing), Annie leaned against the back wall of the classroom. She twirled her wand in one hand innocently enough and eyed the groundskeeper who had just strolled in ahead of her. Oh delightful. He had TARGET written allllll overrrr himmmm.

Revenge for the Water Lilies. It was coming.

"Sure Herminny." Cela answered cheerfully, straightening up and smiling at the younger girl. She reholstered her wand and looked up as the Groundskeeper and the Headmaster came in.

"I wonder if professor Kazimeriz and professor Truebridge are coming?" Cela wondered out loud.

"As you can see class both Mr Masterton and Prrofessor Bunbury have joined us as well. So don't be shy, pick yourselves a partner to pratcice the Langlock curse and only the Langlock curse for the moment." Marcus eyed the others in the room and gave them a grateful look.

"I promise we won't hurt you" he announced to the class. Not much anyway.
