Cordova placed the rope around Williams wrist and together, they proceeded back to their original spots. "I think it's best that we introduce oursleves before we go about throwing spells in each other directions," he said not looking at the younger boy but shuffling through his robes to find his wand. Cordova was extremely talented at using his wand though he didn't appear that way. He liked to keep to himself and has always been that way.

"Ready?" he questioned with a raised eyebrow and a slight twist of happiness within his voice. His wand was ready, armed and set. All he needed now was his cue.

And her head jerked up...wherever Kaika had been, she didn't even notice that they needed to partner up.

"Hey, Abby, I can partner up with you" she said, noticing that she didn't have one either.

"Wai - " Plymouth started, but soon was on the floor, on top of Varius Tipps. Tied up and on top of Tipps was not how Plymouth saw himself at the beginning of DADA. He'd been doing so well - he'd gotten LOTS of points, too. Compliments. Male bonding with Lawson.


And now he got this.



"I think you should use your wand, Varius," Plymouth said, as he tried to push up to his knees. "If I learned anything last lesson it's that you NEED your wand."

He liked that the Professor thought him a good grindylow and kept it in mind for next years Halloween. However, back to the task in hand...

Varius was completely unphased by Plymouth toppling on top of him, instead he proceeded to start gnawing at the rope in hope that his razor sharp teeth, pls, would cut through his captor! No such luck.

Rolling Plymouth off him, and ignoring his suggestion about wand-use, he got up off the floor and started pulling again, dragging Plymouth across the ground. "AHHH," he screamed a hearty, manly scream of a bodybuilder who has just lifted his first one million ton weight, cause Plymouth was that heavy, right? "I WANT A DIVORCE!" he added just for extra measure.

William nodded, silently agreeing with him. Digging into his pocket with his left hand he nodded again to let Cordova know he was ready. He was still trying to figure out which spell to use, he knew of a few but he wasn't exactly sure of the movements. "Before we do this I have to warn you my wand movements are a bit shaky. So if I hurt you accidentally I'm sorry." He warned the older boy, casting a quick glance in the general direction of Professor Lawson.

Taking a breath he squared his shoulder, wand at the ready." Ok, I'm ready." he said, hs voice oddly calm and serene.

Abby smiles when she hears someone needs a partner. She wasn't too keen to try and remove handcuffs or untie Professor Lawson. One wrong move and their goes her grade. Abby walks over. "Thank you, you're a lifesaver. I don't think Professor Lawson is too keen to join in the fun."

Er, she didn't know how much a lifesaver she could be, but Kaika smiled either way.

"Well, I didn't have a partner either, so, that will make a lifesaver as well...I guess" because she could've ended up with someone she disliked. So, yeah, this is nice.

"So, we'll be using the muggle-ish thing, no?" those metal things didn't look inviting, though, "I can use my wand with either hand...so I wouldn't mind having one of those circle thing around my right wrist" this could easily be translated into, 'I'm equally disastrous with both hands'.

Daniel was busying himself looking for a partner but he gave up when he had found no one. He then raised his hand and said, "Professor, I too doesn't have a partner for the activity." he said. Everyone else does have their own partner to play with.

Chris sighed as Dem slipped the handcuff around his wrist. "Hopefully one of us will be able to get this undone." He laughed. "I love my cousin but I dont want to be stuck to you forever." he joked. He looked as she tried to unlock the cuffs no luck. He point his wand at the cuffs and said "Relashio!" The cuffs fell apart around his hand and he grinned brightly. "You have to use a spell you use on a Grindylow, like relashio." he winked. The cuffs were still on her wrist so he blasted them off her hand like he did his own. "Good thing we got those off looks like others arent having as much ease." He quickly repaired the cuffs just incase they wanted to try again.

"No, it's a good knot," Copernicus reassured Raiden, slipping his wrist around within the confines of the rope. It was tight enough that he wanted to get it off, though.

"The incantation is Diffindo. I'll demonstrate it on the rope by your hand, and then you can try it out on the rope here in the middle." Cope tapped the rope high up near Raiden's hand and then again in the very middle.

"Diffindo!" He flicked his wand at the rope, and it parted onto the table, leaving a woven bracelet on Raiden's wrist.

"It's Kaika isn't it?" Abby looks over at Professor Lawson. For some reason he wasn't too keen for Abby to use those things on him. She wonders why? "Do you mean the round metal things? They might be fun. I'm not sure I'd like to try a severing charm with the chains or rope. We can probably use the Alohomora charm to remove them." Abby came up with the brilliant idea to find out why Professor Lawson wasn't so keen on those things. How about a handcuffs for three? Not a good idea unless you want detention.

"I'm not worried," Cordova said with ease but at heart was hoping that nothing to bad would happen. Unfortunately they were tied together and just for extra precautions Cordova really wanted his notes. "Accio Notes," he pointed his wand towards his desk in the far corner of the room. They flew swiftly from darkness and with a flick of his wand, they flattened perfectly out on the table in front of them. "These papers are list of spells, descriptions, and notes concerning each creature and what would be effective in an emergency and what wouldn't. The Professor said that there are three kinds of binding material in the box at the front," he pointed to the front of the room with his wand and looked back at William. "Currently, as you can see," he indicated towards the rope. "We're attached by this rope that seems breakable but is also extremely sturdy," he examined out loud not directing his words to his partner anymore.

"Basically, for the rope, I think it'll be the easiest one to overcome! Diffindo should be efficient. But it won't work for the muggle hand cuffs and surely not the chain."

With that being said Cordova once again fixed his attention upon his partner and smiled assuringly that everything would be okay. "Let's begin, on three," he looked at the rope. "We should do it together at the exact same spot," he noted as he hadn't removed his glare from the rope. "Diffindo is the spell," he repeated kindly and began counting.

"One, two, three. Diffindo," he pronounced firmly and flicked his wand harshly.

occ: I'm going to be away here and there so bare with me and sorry for being so in and out on this. Usually I'm always here and ready!

"AHhHhHhhhhhhHHHHhhH!" Plymouth yelped (kind of screeched,actually) as he got pulled across the floor. This wasn't Defense Against the Dark Arts --- This was Torture Plymouth Hour. He had ROPE BURNS! Plymouth would have done jsut as well to be thrown in the lake to battle the real things.

"TIPPS. Use DIFFINDO. Di-FIN-DOH. Cut yourself loose, wild man. And then I'm going to need the nurse. Merlin." Plymouth managed to get up on his knees this time and he started searching Tipps's person for his wand. "Tell me that you brought it to class, V."

"Yes" she said, with a firm nod. That sounded like her name, so, she knew the answer to that question.

"Uh-huh, those should be easier to get off, right?" or so the girl thought, "Yeah, no severing charm for me either" who knows how that could turn out, "So..." she started by looking at the shiny metal first, "...my right wrist..." yes, she wouldn't mind using her left hand for her wand, "...right?" and she started to place it around her right wrist...

"Ummm...do you know how to---?" never mind, it closed on her wrist before she could even ask how to lock it. "So...do you think Professor Lawson changed his mind and wants to be handcuffed with a student?" it was only joking, she wouldn't like to have him next to her. Nope.

"Diffindo?" Varius stopped pulling his Ravenclaw 'other half'. "What the hell is a diffindo?" He couldn't remember learning anything about it in class and afterall, he was only a second year. "You do a diffin..."

But at that moment Plymouth had started raiding his pockets! "What are you doing!?" Varius complained, feeling as if his privacy was being stripped away. Well! He wasn't going to be the only one! So, in true-like Varius fashion, he shoved his hand in Plymouth's pocket, "SEE! Tis not so nice people looking through your stuff!"

Come to think of it, Varius couldn't remember what he did have in his pockets. Probably some carrots or something... nothing too significant, he was sure. Some stones, for certain.

Abby smiles. "Well, Hufflepuff's already in last place, so we can't go much lower. I think we'd better try them out on ourselves first. We can always get a second pair for Professor Lawson or maybe two pairs. I'd wouldn't mind company in detention. I'm pretty good with the Alohomora charm, so we should have these things off in no time." Abby puts the cuff on her left wrist and closes it.

"Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!" Plymouth was being manhandled! Or - whatever it was that Tipps was. "Okay. Okay. That tickles, Tipps." Plymouth gave a few involuntary hehe's before he caught Tipps's wrists. "V - you stay still. Play Statue. You be... Humpback Hilda or whatever that statue is named. And I'll cut us free."


Merlin help us all, Plymouth Morgan was going to use his wand - in DADA, no less!


"You got it? Ready... STATUE!" But, Plymouth held tight to his wrists - just in case.

Diffindo. That sounded familiar enough... where had he heard that before? His mind threatened to start wandering off and he immediately stopped trying to remember where he'd last heard that word. Probably in a book or something anyway. Eyes locked on the rope, Raiden nodded when Copernicus Kettleburn cast the charm and it came apart near his hand.

"Diffindo," he repeated softly, to get his mouth used to the word before attempting to cast it. "And you just... flick... okay." He nodded resolutely and held up his wand, carefully pointing it at the spot Copernicus Kettleburn had indicated. With a firm flick, he spoke the charm. "Diffindo!"

The rope split again, where he'd pointed, and Raiden grinned widely. It woooooorked. Yay! He looked at Copernicus Kettleburn happily.

"Waaait, if we do that on the part on our wrists, it won't... hurt us, will it? Does it just cut rope?"

"A statue? I can do that? I shall be... Barney the statue of... STATUES! The God. The owner. The creaTOR! mwahahahaha," and then he said it. Varius froze. Stayed completely still, only moving his eyes to watch Plymouth's movements as he assumed this was allowed as part of the game. He hoped Plymouth didn't end up losing Varius' fingers or something.

Noooo. Why mention the unmentionable?!

Kaika was not liking her house's place at the moment, but nothing she could do, except homework...and getting some Championship points.

Er, ANYWAY.

DADA. Right. An evil smirk showed on her face for a few seconds as she considered Lawson locked up somewhere. He did, after all, made Jake get into detention, no?

"No, I don't think this will be something to get in detention for...but I couldn't bear to lose points" no, no losing points. And then, another click. No way of backing out of this. Now, just getting out of the handcuffs.

"Oh, yes, I see how Alohomora could work" because it worked with keys to be open. "Well, go ahead if you want to" she encouraged, but held her wand in her other hand, just in case she had to use it.

William listened carefully, making sure to keep in mind all the notes he had taken. He had to admit his own notes were miniscule compared to his and he made a change in his itinerary to make better notes.

Upon hearing the word Diffindo William perked up a bit. He knew that spell and could perform it no problems. He didn't say anything as he listened to the more advanced student before him, secretly glad he had someone who knew what they were talking about.

Turning towards him he shot a glance at the rope between them and held his wand out, pointing it at the rope. When he began the spell William flicked his wand harshly and said "Diffindo!" in a confident voice, waiting and watching to see if it worked. He saw his spell hit the rope and kept his concentration on it, as if willing it to break without the spell.

OOC: That's okay!

"Yeah, I agree with you. I'm still holding on to some hope a miracle will happen, and will put those Ravenclaws in their place. Besides, I kind of like Lawson, and he was kind of panicked when I mentioned partnering with him. I wonder why?" Abby takes out her wand and points it at Kaika's handcuff at the spot where the key is suppose to go. "I think I have to do you, and you me. Here goes nothing. Alohomora!"

Hmmm. Interesting. She likes Lawson. Kaika still found him...well, a stranger that one had to be cautious about. Plus, he found that the idea of making one believe that their favorite Professor was somehow gone, was funny. And, clearly, Kaika didn't feel the same about that.

He panicked, huh? "Do you think there's something wrong with the handcuffs?" she said, it was more of a whisper, considering that she didn't want Lawson to hear that sentence.

Yet, she nodded. "Alright". And she watched as Abby flicked her wand...Hmmm...Nothing happened. Didn't she say that it would open up on 'Alohomora'. "Alohomora!" she exclaimed, if it didn't work, then maybe they'll have to do it at the same time on one of the locks, or try something else, like...a banishing charm...or...who knows, making the handcuffs bigger...or...whatever.

Abby looks dumbfounded when the handcuffs don't open up. "What's wrong? I've never had the Alohomora cham fail me, and I've used it on some serious locks." Abby looks around for Professor Lawson. Then she notices a fellow Hufflepuff trying to chew his way out of his ropes. "Let me try it one more time. Okay?" Abby looks at the locks again. Maybe we're suppose to do it together?"

Well, she wasn't entirely surprised that her spell didn't work. After all, it took her about three times for something to work. Thank goodness this was not Quidditch's case.

"Together...on the count of three to your lock, yes?" yes, alright. "One...Two...Three" she said, and the flicking of the wands began again, "Alohomora!" she said, focusing all she could on Abby's lock. Maybe this could work?
