Professor Lawson had spent the last hour setting up the classroom for the first lesson. All the desks had been removed except for his and only the chairs remained. He hung some lanterns from the ceiling, placed a few suits of armor into the corners of the room. A large box sat on his desk.

He moved around the room to make sure that everything seemed to be in place before he threw open the door to allow the students arrival and walked back and leaned against the edge of his desk, his arms folded and his feet crossed at the ankles.

"Please come in, put your bags to to the side, take out only your wands and have a seat."

Lucy walked into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom full of excitement. Finally the first DADA class of the term! She had been waiting the whole term (so far) for this day. "Good evening Professor Lawson." Lucy said taking a seat. She set her bag down at her feet and took her wand out. 'I wonder what we're learning today..'

Divad took off his bag, setting it on the floor next to his desk. He got his wand out from the left pocket using his left hand to do so. He set it on the desk in front of him. He then proceeded to look around at the suits of armour. 'How interesting.' Divad thought to himself.

He was going to especially love this class, though Professor Lawson did creep him out.

Patrick came in, giving the professor a brief nod as he passed by. Good, they needed their wands for this class, he thought as he slung his bag to the floor. He grabbed the handle from an inner pocket of his student's robe and took a seat. Waiting for class to begin, he idly listened to the others chatting silently in the room.

Quite excited to the first DADA lesson of the term with a NEW professor, Evangeline strolled into the room and smiled at the man. Oh my gosh. He had looked quite handsome at the staff table but ... gooosh. Oh. Fight. Focus.

Shaking her head, Evangeline did as she was told and retrieved her wand from where she always kept it - her right pocket. It wasnt like she still had a bag to put aside anyway. Boohoo. This flooding thing sucked. She shrugged at herself, knowing it was useless to sulk about it and stood on Clifford's side .. still looking at the Professor.

Cough.

Tiffany strolled into the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom, taking a seat. It was quite empty, not everyone had arrived yet. Taking out her equipment, she eyed the classroom. Nope. No one here she knew. She smiled at the Proffessor, hoping to make a good impression. After all, it was one of her favourite lessons.

Lyra was MORE THAN THANKFUL that KraziKazi was NOT teaching DADA anymore. That loony man was just that...LOONY! She walked in and instead of sitting down and getting out parchment and her quill and ink, she placed her bag to the side and reached into the leftside of the inside of her robes to pull out her wand. Thank goodness for the little pockets on the inside.

Jude entered with a smile on his face and looked around. He knew some faces, not too well but he knew them. With a smile at each of them, he listened and obeyed the professor. Taking out his wand, he held it gently in his right hand and wondered silently what they'd be doing today. Hopefully something fun.

Natasha walked into the DADA classroom and put her bag to the side like everyone else. As she walked over and took a seat, she pulled her wand out of her robes before glancing around the room.

Jack walked into the Defense room, grinning in delight at the prospect of having a teacher who was NOT Kazimeriz. True, he was now the potions professor, but the potions room was flooded, was it? Tee hee. Hopefully there wouldn't be any potions lessons for a WHILE.

He settled in his usual seat in the back, looking around the room and waiting patiently for the lesson to start. He was definitely anxious to see what this new professor had in store for them.

Sarah took a seat as close to the back as possible,after she had put her bag down on the floor with the others and taken her wand out from inside her right robe pocket.Being right handed it was the best place for her to get to it easily....you never know when you might need it!
She added a quiet "Hello Professor Lawson." for good measure.

And his whole ancient body. So Cam was reaaallly relieved that old man wasn't teaching this class anymore--Potions for him was fine--but ... still... who wanted to see Kazi with a wand in his hand? That was like... that was scary.

"Hiiii Professah," and because he didn't have any bags or basically anything at all because of the flood, just got out his wand from his side pocket and took a seat. Oh thank Merlin's booger that his wand wasn't drowned or keeled. His wand; it was basically the most important asset in his whole entire wizard life.

He soon took a seat after and waited for the class to begin.

"Hiiiiiii duuuude" Marcus replied with a grin.

Willow had heard that Professor Kazimeriz would no longer be teaching Defense Against The Dark Arts and that there was a new professor, but . . . the man standing in the classroom was definitely not what she had been expecting. This man, whatever his name was, was definitely an upgrade from Kazimeriz. Granted, Kazimeriz had been and outstanding professor, and Willow didn't know if the new guy would be good at the whole teaching business, but . . . um, yes.

Remembering that she was supposed to look for a seat, she followed the man's intructions, took seat in the front of the classroom -yes, the front- and took out her wand from the pocket that was inside the left side of her robes.

She had completely forgotten to greet the professor. Nevermind.

No greeting again and another Ravenclaw too. Marcus nodded, obviously he wasn't as imitating as the old man.

Marcus nodded at the boy and then waited as everyone took their seats and got comfortable.

"Welcome to your first DADA lesson of the year. I am Professor Lawson, as most of you seem to know already but unfortunately I only know a few of your names, so please bear with me."

He pushed off the desk and took a couple of steps forward. "Okay so I have watched each of you retrieve your wands. And very interesting places some of you keep your wand." He glanced at Clifford for a moment. "Now I am going to need a couple of volunteers."

Ana walked into the classroom and noticed the lack of desks. She placed her bag together with all the other bags and took her wand from the pocket "Hello Professor?" and sat down holding the wand on her hand, ready for anything..at least she hoped.

Seriously. It was the only subject, bar History of Magic that didn't get right on her nerves. Wandering into the room, and grinning happily at the professor, she gave him a quick "Haii professorr!" Then bounded across to an empty desk. That nice sixth year girl wasn't here yet. Ohwell. She'd survive. And on the thought, she drew her wand.

Duhduhduhhh, dun dun dun..

Oh and then waved her hand for volunteering. Duh..

Hmmm, volunteers in DADA usually ended up in some tough spots, but Kazi wasn't teaching it this time. Maybe it would be ok...maybe not. She would let Clifford and Anna volunteer.

She pulled her wand out of her bag. She had left her robes with her wand holster sewn in in the Great Hall.
