Daniel watched as the volunteers stand at the center and use their might to show the class the difference of the holsters. Ankle holster are a very far for a vigilant duelist. Shoulder holster is good but they not good enough. Hip holster is great. Daniel wrote to remind himself of what he is seeing. |
Cari stifled a snort of laughter as the dark haired boy crawled past her, and she shot Marcus a reproachful look, clearly meaning, was that really necessary? |

Patrick looked as his fellow Ravenclaw crawled along the ground and out the door. His eyes flicked back to the professor who was laughing as the boy left. This guy/teacher was a tough cookie for sure; he'd make sure to stay on his good side, if that were possible. He only wished he could have helped out Plymouth. I simple Accio might have helped. Might... Anyway, it wasn't his place to second guess teachers decision... and it was rather foolish to not bring one's wand to DADA. So he understood why, but the Jellylegs jinx was a bit too much. He looked back to the front of the class as the professor adjusted the Hufflepuff's holster. |
Copernicus watched the students at the front of the room attaching their holsters with great interest... after he finished grinning his head off at Cela being the best wand-drawer in the room. That seemed about right. He raised his hand. "Professor, is there such a thing as a holster that attaches to the upper thigh versus the hip? It seems like that might be a natural place to store a wand for quick drawing because that is where your hand would naturally fall when standing." He paused and smiled sheepishly. "And my name is Kettleburn, sir." |
Naomi listened to the professor ask for names. She raised her hand, "My name is Naomi... Naomi Cambridge." She said with a smile. |

Oh! Miranda frowned in confusion as the professor adjusted her holster. This was like the first time she had seen one in real life. It was like watching an animal on the tv and one in a zoo. Eh. "My name is Miranda BelCanto, sir" she said with a small smile and absentmindedly grabbed her wand again with her right hand. Oops. Miranda put the wand back in her holster and her wand hand was free again, and ready. |

Lawson turned and faced the class again. "Okay before I get our volunteers to draw their wands. On which side should Cam where his hip holster if his wand hand is his right?" |
Allie raised her hand. "Umm should it be on his left? So that he can easily reach across to it with his right hand?" she said, hoping that made sense. |
Naomi raised her hand. "I believe his right side professor." |
Cam watched the crawling boy and actually felt a bit sorry for him... maaaaaaybe. He looked back at the professor and nodded, then waited for the professor. Hmmmm. He looked around the room and listened to the people's answers. |
This Professor was SO COOL! Like.. beyond cool! What he did to Plymouth Morgan.. Well, no words described it really. Clifford had to raise a hand to his face to hide the gigglesnorts and tried to turn his attention back to the demonstration that was about to take place. He was rooting for Cam. WOO! |
Nate watched the different holsters writing down different notes about them. The volunteers seemed to be a little frightened.. a little or maybe was anxiety? Ankle holster are a very far for a vigilant duelist. Shoulder holster is good but they not good enough. Hip holster is great. Writing these notes down Nate looked around the classroom bordely. |
Krissy nodded eagerly and stepped in the direction that the professor pointed. Flexing her hand she prepared herself. Whenever she was about to Duel Krissy's heart started to pound. Though this was just a demonstration her heart beat like the first time she pulled a wand on her Cousin and best friend. |
"His left?" Divad answered, hoping that he had gotten the right answer. He didn't want to agitate Professor Lawson further by answering incorrectly. |
Em raised his hand. "Right hand, sir?" he wasn't sure of his answer, but it seemed easier for Cam to just slide down his right hand to his waist and reach for the wand on the same side. |
"It should be his left, professor." answered Jule. |
"I would say his right side, Professor," Copernicus raised his hand again. "That's where his wand hand would fall naturally, rather than having to reach across his body." |

She stood patiently for the demostration and wondered how easy it would be for her to reach her wand. |

Anna raised her hand and said, "The holster should be on the left, sir. It's much easier to reach over and pull the wand out, than it is to reach straight down and pull the wand out. You also leave yourself a bit more room to maneuver your wand around when it's done this way." |
"Because the movement seems more natural to me... But then again, it seems faster in a way." Divad found these questions hard, but he tried his best to answer them. |
Naomi raised her hand again. "Could it be than that it could be a single move to start a spell possibly?" |
Raiden raised his hand. "Sir, cross-drawing is more effective because you can slash when drawing and cast a spell on the draw, rather than having to pull up and then aim your wand." Just like he'd done earlier, by putting his wand in his left pocket rather than his right. |
Clifford raised his arm, deciding to take a wild guess. "If you've got long arms, it would be kinda awkward to draw it from the same side, right?" He had long arms, and he figured it would. "Plus, wands are kind of long, y'know? By drawing it across the body, you've more of an advantage... I think." |
