Krissy Moon 06-01-2009 12:08 AM

Krissy flushed when the professor asked her to the front of the class. "Yes sir" she said as she quickly stood and walked to the front of the room.

Miranda smiled wide as the professor answered her question. Atleast she had learned something from those movies, even though the story hadn't made much sense to her.
She froze as Lawson asked her to stand up at the front of the class. "Uuuh... yes, ok, sure, ofcourse..." Miranda nodded, clumsily standing up, started to look for her wand and realised she was holding it, walked up.

You might just find this lesson useful."

Letting a look of indignation cross his face, Jake gaped up at the man. "You said what it looks like... there's all kinds of-" he broke off, looking away. "I was only asking," he muttered, glancing down at his own wand. Then Lawson revealed to everyone about the little meeeeeeting later, and Jake shot one narrowed eyed glane at the Professor. It wasn't his fault he couldn't pay attention, right?

...

Right?

Okay, maybe it was.

LadyNerd 06-01-2009 12:12 AM

Okay! Lyra's ears perked up when someone spoke of a leg holster! A girl with long arms would need something like that, or even the wrist holster was cool but...that leg holster. That would be like...a muggle mystery movie. Muggles! They were just strange...and cool. She sat back and listened as she was not very active in this class.

highjinx 06-01-2009 12:13 AM

Uhhhh. Come up to the front of the class?

...

After realizing that some students were 2 times better than him and Cela about 10 times better than him, he was a bit afraaaaid to come up to the class. What if he got embarrassed or something?! He had a reputation to protect! Could he say no? Could he? But he really didn't want to look like a coward in front of the whole class. Heeeee had a REPUTATION to protect! But ohh, what could happen? It wasn't like they were going to do something like what he thought they were going to do. Yaahp. Haha--it wasn't like this professah doooood was going to make him do something right?

Right?

Right. It was just all of his thoughts. But then what would happen if he was forced to fight off flying rabid unicorns with only one hand and half a wand and nothing elseeee but sheeer strength and then the rabie-infected unicorns would bite him and then after they bit him, he would get transported to St. Mungo's and then become a permanent resident, and then would try to make some escape and then get away back to Hogwarts 3 years later and then put back in St. Mungo's because he got caught and then lived there for the rest of his LAIFFEEE?!?!?

...Right. All just thoughts. He walked up to front of the classroom and glanced at some of the students around the room.

mmesnape 06-01-2009 12:22 AM

Patrick had sat through the demonstration and was impressed by the use of holsters now. Note to self, he thought humorously, ask Dad for a holster.

He waited as the second batch of students went up front, wondering what would happen now.

Waterloo 06-01-2009 12:23 AM

A light flush colouring his cheeks, Clifford simply mumbled uder his breath at the Professor's teasing. Yeah, that's right Lawson was teasing him! For keeping his wand tucked in his trousers. Mean Professor. Hmpf.

But ooooh, what was gonna happen now? He'd called more students up to the front? Was this going to be another demonstration? EXCITING! "Go Cam!" The Head Boy covered up his ecouragement with a sly cough and grinned at the young Slytherin.

He got out a quill to pretend it was his wand.

Marcus walked around the room observing the students as his volunteers made their way up to the front. He paused by one of the many Ravenclaw students that were in the class and looked down at the boy. "Either you have used a very good transfiguration spell to change your wand into a quill or you have forgotten to bring your wand Mr...?"

Oooh correct. He liked being correct, it made him feel like he wasn't completely stupid. Smiling at the professor, he sat up straighter in his seat.

"Raiden Kururugi, sir. Third year."

And yay more demonstrations! He liked those too!

"Yes there is Miss Dubois, could you also please make your way to the front of the class."

Lettie was somewhat startled and jumped out of her seat, almost jogging to the front of the room with her cherry wand in hand.
She looked to the professor, they'd probably be testing out the holsters...the girl had never used one before, nor had she seen one before today. But there is a first time for everything.

"Morgan," Plymouth filled in the blank, "Plymouth Morgan. Sir." He put the quill down with a "hehe" and began to explain, "Well.. yes. I did forget it. I was making a house out of sticks and using a glue charm, you see, and I'm so sure I left it in my room. It happens. But, there's no need to worry, Sir. No one hexes me here."

dan arjay 06-01-2009 12:42 AM

Daniel looked at the examples given by the Professor and the ones being shown by the other students. He then diligently wrote the specifications on the parchment in front of him. After doing so, he had drawn the items on the same parchment. Giving specifics of the holsters that is needed.

He then heard of somebody saying about belt holsters. Daniel raised his hand and asked, ''Professor, I think belt holsters are not so effective especially if in-battle, for the wand will be arranged in a manner that will hindrance or limit the movement of the duelist." he said giving a little thought about that.

"Is that right Mr Morgan?" Marcus flicked his wand at the boy and cast a silent jelly legs jinx at him. "Now if you had your wand you may have been able to defend yourself. Now I suggest you go back to your room and get your wand." And no he wasn't going to lift the jinx from him. He could make his way up to the Ravenclaw tower with wobbly legs. "You've got fifteen minutes to get back here with your wand Mr Morgan or it's five points from Ravenclaw."

He walked back up to the front where his volunteers were waiting and reached into the box on the desk. "Okay so here we have an ankle holster." He handed it to the Gryffindor girl. "Please put that on for me. "This here is a hip holster." he held it up for the class to see before handing it over to the young Slytherin boy. "This is a back holster." This he handed to Lettie. "And finally a shoulder holster." he gave this one to the Hufflepuff. "Please put the holsters on and secure your wands. Then I will get you to draw your wands for me and we will once again see who is faster."

Krissy Moon 06-01-2009 12:55 AM

Turning the holster over in her hands, Krissy inspected it closely. Nice solid yet pliable form with buckles that looked as though it would keep the holster firmly attached to her ankle, even if the ankle somehow became detached from the rest of her body.
Bending over she made quick work of securing the thing to her ankle. Pointing and flexing her foot the thing felt like part of her. In her school skirts it was noticeable, but there was no trousers to slow her down. She would lack an element of surprise, but may have a speed advantage. Crouching once again she put her willow wand in place and waited further instruction.

highjinx 06-01-2009 12:57 AM

Well at least they didn't have to fight off flying rabid unicorns, right? This was more like a competition. Bleeh. Cam looked at Clifford for a mere 10 seconds or so when he cheered him on. Pressure. He was pressured by the Head Boy and he did NOT like pressure (well, most of the times). But now Cam considered Cliff to be one of his fans! Seee, he DID have some sort of a reputation. He and Cliff were 'tight or as they say it back in the ancient days in the muggle world. He gave him a look, clearly a look which said "I'll give ya my autograph later!" OOOH. Maybe Clifford would be the very first person he would give his autograph to, what an honor indeed.

Looking back at the professor, he nodded and put on the hip holster. Weeeeee. From his side pocket, he got his wand and then placed it inside the holster. Ohhhhh his competition were girls. That would mean it would be easy... right?

RIGHT?!

RedRabbit 06-01-2009 12:58 AM

*Gabben took notes in his note book with his mouth open. This was his favorite class and this new professor was awesome. He had never heard of a wand holster before.*

Lettie took the holster and secured it around her...clumsily to boot. It took a moment to get the holster in the right position and it pinched her a little as she tightened it.
She got her wand in place and made sure that everything was at a good angle so that reaching it would be fairly easy. Leticia looked to Lawson with a smile, nodding that she was ready...finally.

harrys_other_broom 06-01-2009 01:00 AM

Naomi watched intently as Professor Lawson handed out the holsters. Those are very interesting I must say. Naomi thought to herself.

Plymouth was pretty sure that his initial feelings that all DADA professors hated him were correct. It figured that this term would start exactly as the last. Plymouth said something that was apparently wrong, the DADA professor would hex him, and then take points away. At least it was Jelly Legs and not ear hair this time though. Maybe this slightly younger professor had a fraction of heart left. Maybe. Doubtful, but maybe.

"Sure, Professor. You can even hold your breath until I get back." Plymouth got up, promptly fell to the ground in a jelly-legged mess, and started crawling out of the room. He only had to crawl up seven stories and back again in fifteen minutes after all. Using mostly his arms, Plymouth dragged himself across the classroom and to the door. It was only five points, he guessed. He'd get that back in Herbology no sweat.

"Ooohh..." Miranda's mouth formed into an 'O' as she witnessed the jelly legs jinx being performed on the young student. One really had to be prepared in this class, which made her even more nervous at the thought of being infront of the class.

Her eyes followed the Professor as he started handing out different types of holsters. As Miranda was given the 'shoulder holster', her eyes became bigger as she stared at it. How are you supposed to put this on?
Turning it around a few times, Miranda put it on, hopefully the right way, trying to remember how that guy from the movie had done it (though it was under his jacket). Sheplaced her wand on the wand-holder-thingy and waited for further instructions, all the while glancing at the other students. This should be allright...

Marcus watched as the boy crawled out of the classroom and he couldn't help himself, he burst out into a loud raucous laugh. That was one kid he would have to watch. He had a feeling he was more of a class clown than anything else. he liked it when the kids could amuse him. Okay so back to the lesson at hand.

He nodded as each of his volunteers placed their holsters on. He stepped forward and tightened the Hufflepuff's up a little bit. Marcus turned to look at the Slytherin boy and he frowned slightly. "Which is your wand hand?" Gah...this was frustrating. "And please can you each tell more your names?"

Lord Divadicus 06-01-2009 01:18 AM

Divad looked around at other students placing their holsters on. "Professor, I have not gotten one."

Krissy Moon 06-01-2009 01:20 AM

Krissy nodded. "Oh aye sir. How silly of me. I am Kristyn Moon...Krissy for short." she replied in her lilting brogue.

Cam turned to the professor and placed up his right hand to show that it was indeed his dominant hand aka wand hand. "And I'm Cam, professah. Cam Karsten," he quietly said to the dooooood and checked his hip holster one more time to check if it was correct. Yup... Hopefully.
