"Tell me 'bout it! The lesson must be dangerous.... But I don't care! Bring it on!" Divad said excitedly. Divad got up, and went to the front. |
Diane noticed with some curiosity the older woman entering the class. She thought she saw her before... ah, yes, the nurse, wasn't she? She tended the girl with the injured wrist. She was rather young for a member of the staff. There was some other stuff that bothered Diane from the opening feast, but for the life of her, she couldn't remember right now. Stepping forwards, Diane took her position in the front of the class and stood just besides the nurse, in fact. |

Lucy watched as the intern nurse walked into the classroom and joined the volunteers. 'This will be interesting.' She thought smiling and leaning back in her seat. |
Oh crap. Clifford hadn't really been expecting Professor Lawson to choose HIM. Not with all the people that volunteered! And now Miss Caroline was in here! WHY!? What was Lawson going to do with them!? Was he allowed to take back his volunteering now? EEEK! Trying not to panic too much, Clifford took a breath and made his way to the front of the classroom. Oh gosh. |
Gripping his wand tightly, Raiden glanced at Kiri and the girl sitting next to her, who he recognised as the one who'd tackled Clifford in the Great Hall, before moving to the front of the class. Celandine was volunteering too! Good; he stood next to her and returned her little smile. This hadn't been very smart. What if they had to like... hex each other or something? He was next to Celandine, what if he had to HEX her?! He was suddenly very, very worried about this whole volunteering thing. |
Willow, who had been busy looking at the professor, realized far too late that the man had asked for volunteers. Ah, well. Willow wasn't one to offer herself as a volunteer, especially during Defense Against the Dark Arts, but had twenty people not done so already, she would have. Because Ahem. |
Oh no. Evangeline had been too distracted ogling at Professor Lawson to volunteer in time, but apparently Clifford hadn't! And now Nurse Caroline was here which meant something VERY dangerous was about to happen and they could get hurt! Oh no. Was Clifford about to die?! He couldnt! Not now they had survived a flood! Sniffle. |
Phew! Right now Nancy was quite glad Lawson hadn't chosen her to come to the front. The entrance of the Healer had caused a small look of panic and surprise to flash across her face. What did that mean? Were they going to do something dangerous where a healer would be needed to help the injured?! Eep! The look on Clifford's face, who was part of the chosen ones, resembled the one on her own face as he passed by her chair to walk up to the front. What would they have to do?! And why the heck was the Intern Healer doing there?! |
Overall, Roland wasn't too miffed about not being chosen. He was able to see from a bystander's point of view what it looked like. He could probably practise whatever it was in his spare time...as long as it wasn't too vicious. He wanted to be a part of the dark force defence league and seeing recognising trouble would be integral to joining. However, the sight of the healer caused him to be a little eager to see how bad this would get. |
William sighed a small sigh of relief as he wasn't asked to thee front. What had made him raise his hand in the first place was unknown to him so thankfully he wouldn't make a fool of himself. sitting up straight he paid attention to the front. |
"Okay now I want you to put your wands back to where you usually keep them. Once you have done that wait for me to say 'draw' and then I want you to take the wands back out again. But I want you to imagine that you are facing a dangerous opponent, so you need to be fast." he turned back to the class. "I want all of you to observe exactly where they put their wands and their drawing techniques and decide for yourselves which one is better." |
Divad put his wand away his wand, back into his left pocket of his uniform. He waited for Professor Lawson to say 'draw'. He was so ready for this. |

Eh? That was IT? Why did they need Miss Caroline in here for that? This was going to be easy peasy lemon squeezy! After giving his wand a little twirl between his fingers, Clifford put it back where he'd gotten it from not too long ago. Tucked carefully in the waistband at the back of his trousers. Now.. to wait for the word. |

Diane twirled her wand, the tip of which was pressed against her other hand, and stared towards her side. She didn't know what this wandwork was that needed the aid of a nurse, but it certainly had to be related to the box sitting in the professor's desk at her right. What could fix a box that was a risk to students? She looked at the nurse again, and because of the proximity, she was kind of compelled to offer her a smile and a nod of greetings. But she was observing her. She handn't brought with her any special prepparations. No antidotes or something to treat beast-induced illnesses. Allergies? Bites? Not following the previous reasoning... which only left physical injuries. Would the thing in the box hurt them, or would this be a prevention for human error accidents? ... Diane blinked at the professor's instructions, though. She stared at her wand in her hands and thought this over. If she had been making a potion, she would have it tucked behind her ear. But, she guessed, generally, it was on her belt. So she replaced it back in one of the belt holes, stood a good distance from other students, and waited. This looked very... wild west. |

"Uhm sir?" Raiden said softly. "I usually keep mine... in my robes, because my mum made a special thing on the sleeve for it but... but..." He bit his bottom lip. "With the whole... flood thing..." Awkwaaaaaaaaaaard. "Should I just put it... in my pocket or something?" |

Natasha watched the way the people up the front put away their wands. Most people's ways seemed pretty ordinary, but she chuckled lightly as she looked at the Head Boy. She was pretty curious about why the Nurse was there, but was sure she'd find out soon enough. |
Jule looked confused. If they were just going to draw their wands and the others had to decide which was best, then why was the healer here? This professor was confusing her. |
"Oh right, yeah just put it in your pocket now." Marcus waited for the young kid to do so and then he backed away from the students a couple of steps. "Draw!" |
Divad knew Jule's confusion, and winked in her direction. Divad drew his wand from his uniform using his left hand, it almost scared him how fast he drew it. 'How did I do that' he thought to himself. |

Abby watches intently to see where everyone puts their wand and who can draw the fastest. This is just like a muggle duel at High Noon. |
Upon hearing the instruction to draw, Celandine flicked her wrist and her wand was released almost instantly from the holster into her hand with very little movement required. In fact, had you not looked at her hand, you’d never even have noticed that she now had her wand at the ready. |
