Raiden raised his hand automatically. "I'll...volunteer, sir," he said softly. Then he realized... he had no idea what he'd just volunteered for. Oh not very smart. |
Rhea had a huge grin on her face as she skipped (almost) into DADA. Finally! She thought as she resumed her usual seat in the front. She waved and smiled at the Professor as she pulled her books from her school bag. Her quill and parchment were out next. She looked around at the others that were there.Everyone seemed as excited as she was. |
Roland entered the classroom. It was his favorite class. After growing up surrounded by animals and not being able to have a wand yet all his relatives owning one, the prospect of firing spectacular hexes and the stories from his uncle's adventures, defence against the dark arts was bound to have a massive appeal to him. He was especially delighted to see the middle of the room open. They were to be doing practical this lesson. "Hi professor" he said pleasantly nodding at his teacher. He drew his wand from the inside left-hand side pocket of his robes. He grabbed a handful of his robes and polished the mahogany wand slowly and carefully. Years ago he had seen a cousin polish a wand and set his hair on fire. He stood with his wand in his right hand ready for the task. At the sound of the request for a volunteer his hand rose smoothly into the air. He didn't like being one of those who bounced on their toes silently screaming 'ME SIR! ME SIR!'. He waited patiently yet excitedly. |
Well so far so good he thought, at least he wasn't being shouted at ... yet. Raising his hand he grinned.. "I'd like to volunteer professor." He said in a strong voice. No need to be scared yet he thought watching the professor who so far seemed to be much cooler than the last one. |
Raising her hand, Anna said, "I'd like to volunteer, Professor Lawson." She wasn't too sure what she was volunteering for, but in all honestly, it'd be nothing that would leave her dead or in the hospital wing, right? Right. Surely it was just a demonstration of some sort of spell or the such. Eek. Hopefully she even knew the spell! Ah, well. She supposed she'd find out soon enough. |

Lucy raised her hand. "Ill volunteer sir." She said. Lucy wasn't really the best at DADA, but she was still pretty good. |

Catch him volunteering. PSSHH!!!!! "Interesting indeed," he muttered, referring to where his own wand was kept. |
Christine, having pulled her wand out of the left sleeve of her robes raised her hand when the Professor asked for volunteers. I volunteer Professor she said |
Satine thought for a moment...usually she would be the first one jumping up to volunteer, but she wasn't too sure about doing this in DADA...I mean he might want to duel or something....but why not, suck it up Satine she thought, "I'll volunteer if you still need some peeps." |
Was was the Professor looking at him like that? He kept his wand in a perfectly normal place! Okay, it was a bit uncomfortable if he sat down with it there, but other than that.. PERFECT! "I'll volunteer, Professor," he said, feeling brave as he raised his arm. |
Interesting places? Nancy's couldn't exactly be that interesting, could it? She simply kept her wand in an inside-pocket of her school robes like most of the other students did. Definitely not very spectacular or anything. Quickly raising her hand she said cheefully, "I'd like to volunteer too, professor." Whatever it was, it surely was going to be more interesting than where she kept her wand. |
Lyra also pushed her hand up "i'll volunteer too" she said |
"All of these braves souls." Jule wishpered to herself. She didn't want to volunteer just yet. First see wanted to see what they were getting themselves into. |
With the general tumult she’d been facing lately, she’d had less sleep than she might have liked. And she was more scattered. And yes… okay, maybe she had almost forgotten that she promised to help Marcus out with his class. The point is that she hadn’t completely forgotten. So it was okay. So, practical classes? Okay, simple black dress. Low(er) heals. And she being so tired, she just couldn’t get warm, so her bright pink cardigan would just have to be a part of her ensemble, whether it matched or not. Class, Caroline... NOT a vintage fashion show... Frazzled as she was, she never found her reading glasses before making her way down to the first floor. But it was a practical class, so she didn’t need them, right? Right? And for crying out loud Caroline, you’re helping, not a student. Cari slipped into the class and hung back by the door, surveying the room. Whoa. No desks, guess I really DIDN’T need my glasses. Students seemed to be flocking to the class in droves, and it didn’t surprise her at all. Marcus was already a hugely popular teacher and this was his first class. She wondered how he did that. |
She decided to ask about the paintings after class, she picked up her wand with her right hand. |
Volunteer? Reese was about to raise her hand and tell the Professor she was willing to volunteer, but she didn't since it looked like a lot of people were already asking to volunteer. Maybe she'll volunteer next time. Now, she was just going to sit back and see what the Professor was going to have the volunteers do. |
Lyra was not about to raise her hand for volunteering. She was already popular enough and well, some of these other students needed more attention than she did. Really! She was fine. She placed her wand in her lap waiting on whatever the professor was going to do. She didn't know what to expect from this gentleman, she only hoped that it was better than Kwazimoto |

But now the professor was asking for volunteers. Miranda was not about to be subjected to something she did not know how to defend herself against, so she just watched. |
Good lord you would think he was handing out chocolate frogs. Did no one remembered Kazi and what he did to his volunteers? Paris hoped this didn't turn into a "let's see how many students I can scare to death class" she was still having nightmares over those demenators from last term. The thought sent a shiver up her spine. "Yesh," she said shaking her head to clear it of those thoughts. |
Hayley wanted to volunteer...she really did! But so many people had already volunteered, and she wasn't one who could handle rejection with grace and dignity. Looking around, hoping for some sign of what this class might bring, Hayley noticed Healer Avalon...What's the mean lady doing here! Oh...my...gosh! Hayley was suddenly glad that she hadn't volunteered! Whatever it was must've been dangerous, or the Healer wouldn't be here! Facing the front of the classroom again, she shook all thoughts out of her head and focused on making her mind be all empty and sponge-like so that she could learn and remember. |
Plymouth totally didn't have his wand. He had meant to bring it... he just hadn't remembered. Plymouth had been busy using it to glue some rocks to a stick house he was making. So, needless to say, Plymouth didn't volunteer. He'd learned to generally not trust DADA professors on a whole, so ... it was safer to just stay seated and watch and learn. He got out a quill to pretend it was his wand. |
Celandine saw there were a million volunteers but still, "I'll volunteer, sir." she raised her hand. |
Jule turned to see The healer here. 'Whoa! Why is she here? This can't be good.' |
