DADA Lesson 1 Professor Lawson had spent the last hour setting up the classroom for the first lesson. All the desks had been removed except for his and only the chairs remained. He hung some lanterns from the ceiling, placed a few suits of armor into the corners of the room. A large box sat on his desk. He moved around the room to make sure that everything seemed to be in place before he threw open the door to allow the students arrival and walked back and leaned against the edge of his desk, his arms folded and his feet crossed at the ankles. "Please come in, put your bags to to the side, take out only your wands and have a seat." ooc:Please RP exactly where your character retrieves their wand. Thank you. |
Demetria walked into the strange setting of the DADA classroom. "Hello professor." she smiled and set her bag against the wall, pulling out her wand in the process. Dem went over and took a seat in an empty chair, waiting for the class to begin. |
Miranda quickly made her way to the DADA lesson. This was going to be exciting and it was with a new professor! Walking through the door she noticed the Professor and then all the invisible desks...well there were no desks but lots of chairs. "Good day Professor Lawson!" Miranda greeted with a wave, walked to the right side of the room, sat down at the front of the classroom to see better and took out her wand. What indeed will happen today? |
Lyra walked into the......classroom? it didn't look like a classroom and she looked around with a curious expression on her face. She placed her bag at the side of the room and grabbed her wand. "Hello Professor Lawson" she greeted with a smile. |
Oh Merlin's pink hat was he late? Raiden wished for a watch that worked within Hogwarts as he hurried down the hall towards the classroom. Oh good, he wasn't late, the door was open! He slowed his pace and sauntered into the classroom, stopping just inside the door. There were... no desks... Smiling at the professor, Raiden inclined his head, pulled his bag off his shoulder, and pulled his wand from the side-pocket of said bag before putting it against the wall. Moving toward the front of the class, he found a chair and sat down. "Hello Professor," he said, eyes naturally surveying the classroom for threatening things. Professor Kazimeriz's classes were still... a fresh memory. |
Reese entered the classroom and looked at the Professor when he started telling them what to do with their bags and stuff. She nodded and walked over to the wall and sat her bag down. Then, She headed over to a vacant seat and before she sat down she pulled her wand out of her right robe pocket. "Hello Professor," she said as she finally took her seat. |
Celandine dumped her bag at the side of the room and headed to a desk, flicking her wrist to release her wand from the holster on the inner side of her left arm as she did so. "Hello Professor Lawson." |
Satine walked into the DADA classroom full of excitement... all of her lessons had been so entertaining and looking around at the desk empty class, she felt like this one was going to interactive as well...she smiled at the Professor, "Howzit Professor. It looks great in here!" and then headed to the edge to put her purple bag down...she reached into the special pouch on the edge her cloak that kept her wand safe but in easy reach and went out on the floor to join the other students..she had a seat towards the front and waiting for things to get started. |
Kiri entered the room and looked around curiously. No desks? They were going to have a practical lesson, then? Her Defence against the Dark Arts book was one of those currently irretrievable because of the water flooding the Dungeons, so any lesson where she wouldn't have to ask other students or teachers for books was a positive thing. She was a little wary of DADA practicals, though. It wasn't something she was especially good at. After greeting the professor, Kiri went off to the side of the classroom and deposited her bag on the ground, bending down to pull out her wand. She spotted Raiden on a chair a couple of metres away from her, so, equipped with only her wand as instructed, she walked over and sat down next to him, smiling and saying Hello quietly. |
Diane took her wand out from her belt. Not because she was much of a dueller, but because her wand usually got in her way. She sat with her wand at hand, though it puzzled her. Having a seat and taking out wands don't usually occur in that order. |

She glanced up and noticed the lanterns hung from the ceiling, then she glanced over to the side and took in the sight of suits of armor placed into the corners of the room. As she was told, Anna put her bookbag, along with her textbook, to the side. Her wand was already in her hands, so she didn't need to pull it out. |
WHAT AN EVIL MAN! Grumbling slightly as Jake heard the man's words, Jake went and dumped his bag at the side of the room, knowing he would spend a long time trying to find it again, then he narrowed his eyes before approaching Lawson. "Sir, you have my wand," he said bluntly. "I want... it... back... need it for the lesson, ain't it?" he said, trying to keep his voice down, looking pointedly at another wall. Not at Lawson. For the man was evil. |
Stopping at the entrance to the DADA classroom William shook ever so slightly, the memories of last term coming back as he peeked in, as if waiting for Kazi to shout at him to get in the room. When it didn't happen he frowned before stepping into the room, his soft blue eyes searching out the room. The tables were gone, replaced only with chairs. shrugging he walked over to the wall, placing his bag on the floor. Bending down, he put his stash of chocolate frogs in the bag before retrieving his wand, holding it carefully in his left hand before standing and walking over to a free chair, his eyes staring in shock at the professor. "Hello professor." He said politely, nodding his head in the old man's direction as he got comfortable on the chair, curious. |
Victoria walked into the classroom, she was excited she had heard alot of good things about this lesson. She found a desk, waited for her friends and the class to start. |
Copernicus entered the classroom and took a seat in the middle of the room. He wasn't hiding so much as comfortably ensconcing himself amid other students. At the word of the professor, he removed his wand from an inside pocket in the sleeve of his non-wand hand. Easy to remove for a duel... his tutor would be so proud. |
Nancy slowly strolled into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, the anticipation, excitement inside her making her blue eyes sparkle slightly. What was about to happen? Her eyebrows shot up upon taking in the interior of the classroom which only consisted of a great number of chairs, the teacher's desk, a couple of lanterns hanging from the ceiling and a few suits of armor. Okay... Giving Professor Lawson a friendly nod and a "Good day, professor" Nancy placed her bag against the nearest wall and now only with her wand to carry took a seat on a nearby chair, waiting for further students to arrive. |
Mariel walked towards the DADA classroom, messenger bag slug over her shoulder. Although it was not her very favorite class, she found she had much enjoyed it last year. Sure, Kazimeriz was awfully scary, but he knew his subject and was an outstanding teacher. The third year had been quite impressed with how much she had learned under his teaching. So it was with mixed apprehension and excitement that she approached the door of the classroom today, but she stopped in the doorway, somewhat surprised by what she saw. The classroom looked vastly different than it did a year ago. Gone were the gruesome pictures that hung around the room, instead replaced by suits of armor and laterns. But not only that, instead of Kazimeriz waiting for his students to assemble, he was also replaced by someone new - a teacher she remembered seeing at the Welcoming feast. Slightly bemused by these turn of events, Mariel slowly made her way out of the doorway and set her bag to the side of the room. After she found herself a seat at a deskless chair, the third year pulled the wand from her pocket and gave the professor a polite smile as she greeted him. "Hello, Professor." |
After having spoken briefly to Professor Lawson, Vanessa was kind of looking forward to his lesson. So as she walkled through the door she was wondering what the lesson would be like. "Good.....Hello Professor Lawson." The small hufflepuff spoke, whilst noticing that there were no desks. "Are you having a good day?" She asked politely as she moved to the side of the classroom, putting her bag there, and pulling her wand out of the side pocket. She then moved back, and sat on one of the chairs. |
Sarah entered the DADA classroom with apprehension. She got a good score on her finals last year, but Kazimeriz had still scared the bejesus out of her in the process. She was hoping the new teacher would be nicer, but after seeing how he was with Ricco at the feast Sarah wasn't holding her breath. Sarah took a seat as close to the back as possible, after she had put her bag down on the floor with the others and taken her wand out from inside her right robe pocket.Being right handed it was the best place for her to get to it easily....you never know when you might need it! She added a quiet "Hello Professor Lawson." for good measure. |
She put her wand on her desk, where was her friends? Was she the only first year in the lesson? |
Cam was excited for the first DADA lesson and curiously wondered what they were going to do. Fight off werewolves? Attack dragons? Learn the most complicated spell in the book? Err--maybe not but whatever, he needed to learn this stuff for uh, well, future stuff he was possibly going to do? Possibly. But he sure wished they weren't going to do something booooring as learning the safeties and all. Who cared about safety anyways?! This was DADA. And hopefully, there was no safety. There was only going to be chaos and danger and EVEN MOAAAARRR CHAOS. BWAHAHAHAHAHA... Oh. Right. He opened up the door and noticed an adult doood standing there in front of the room. Who the heck was he? Wait. So that creeeepy Kazi really did stop teaching DADA?! OMG OMG OMG. That was totally a relief. That old man had a backbone, not literally, but people could make feaaar of him from just those old eyes of his. And his old nose. And his old mouth. And his whole ancient body. So Cam was reaaallly relieved that old man wasn't teaching this class anymore--Potions for him was fine--but ... still... who wanted to see Kazi with a wand in his hand? That was like... that was scary. "Hiiii Professah," and because he didn't have any bags or basically anything at all because of the flood, just got out his wand from his side pocket and took a seat. Oh thank Merlin's booger that his wand wasn't drowned or keeled. His wand; it was basically the most important asset in his whole entire wizard life. He soon took a seat after and waited for the class to begin. |
"Professor Lawson, Sir," the Head Boy greeted with a nod as he entered the classroom ready for some Defense Against the Dark Arts. Oooh, those suits of armour were pretty creepy. He didn't have a rucksack anymore, so Clifford made his way straight to a seat, drawing his wand from where he kept it tucked in the back of the waistband of his trousers. |
Jule walked into DADA. She was excited and saw Vicky sitting by herself. She walked over and said, "Hey you. Mind if i join you?" |
Blink. Blink. Blink. Wow. Willow had heard that Professor Kazimeriz would no longer be teaching Defense Against The Dark Arts and that there was a new professor, but . . . the man standing in the classroom was definitely not what she had been expecting. Not that Willow had any kind of idea of WHAT she had been expecting, but still. This man, whatever his name was, was definitely an upgrade from Kazimeriz. Granted, Kazimeriz had been and outstanding professor, and Willow didn't know if the new guy would be good at the whole teaching business, but . . . um, yes. Remembering that she was supposed to look for a seat, she followed the man's intructions, took seat in the front of the classroom -yes, the front- and took out her wand from the pocket that was inside the left side of her robes. She had completely forgotten to greet the professor. Nevermind. |
Hayley walked into the the classroom, and noticed the desks were absent. Listening to Professor Lawson's instructions, she took a seat nearby Kiri and the boy she always seemed to be with. Sure, she wasn't gonna talk to them(well, she didn't wanna get in trouble!) but it would be nice to be near some people she knew during a class for once. Besides, these were older students who could maybe help her if she needed it! "Hello, Professor!" she said brightly. Settling herself in, Hayley pulled out her cherrywood wand(which she had named Steve) and sat her messengerbag on the the floor next to the front left leg of her chair. Okay she thought to herself, Let's get this show on the ROAD! |
