"Yes, Sir." She said and continued over to her spot in the room that she had chosen to practice in. Getting her feet firmly planted on the floor, Leticia reached behind herself, but couldn't find her wand. 'My goodness! Where is my...oh.' She had held it in her left hand while sifting through the other holsters.. Well, now that her little memory glitch was over with, she placed the cherry wand in it's holster behind her back and practiced reaching behind herself.

Boy, it was a good thing that she was flexible, it made reaching the wand much easier for her. Lettie tried a few different angles while attempting to reach the handle, finding out that the easiest for her was to simply reach over her shoulder, and draw the wand like it was an arrow. She had even adjusted the holster more to suit her better, raising the holster and securing the straps to her liking. 'I wonder...since my arm is already being brought down as I draw my wand, if I can cast as I am facing it to the front...hmm, kind of like slicing something with a sword.'
Never mind that, she needed to get used to the angle, which was becoming easier and easier to accomplish.

After about fifteen minutes of practicing, Lettie as both more confident, and had seemed to develop a habit of reaching backwards for no apparent reason at times. She smiled to herself, glad to have at least one possession now that hadn't been affected by the flood water.

Figuring it was time to start drawing her wand, Leticia faced the back wall of the room...just in case she accidentally cast anything. Being very secure with her yielding abilities now, Lettie reached over her shoulder, and quick as a flash she had her wand facing the front. 'Ooo, this is fun...'. Some sort of smirk came over her face as she practiced a few more times. It would be very easy to cast a spell vertically while bringing it over her shoulder, though maybe that wasn't a good idea at the moment.

"oh yes" Lyra said blushing slightly "of course, thanks for the tip, sir" She placed her wand in her wrist holder again and now only moved her wrist, the wand drew in her hand and she pointed it forwards. "wow much easier!" she said and practiced more trying to be faster each time.

After trying both the hip and wrist holster, she was at a stand still between them....she liked the wrist holster because she seemed to be faster with it, but there was still that issue of hiding it if you didn't have a cloak or long sleeve items on....but still she liked the hip holster because it was easily hidden...she decided that maybe she needed one of both and that way where her wand was would be a surprise to everyone...

"Professor, where would we find these holsters if we wanted to get one personalized and fitted especially for us?" she said as she raised her hand and continued practiced grabbing her wand out of her wrist holder concealed on her left wrist...she was getting pretty good at it....so she decided to try it with a body turn/spin as she did it...wow that would be pretty cool effect but not very wise she thought...

Divad was extremely happy now. We get to keep them! He loved the way the wrist holster fit, it was more comfortable and more stylish too. He especially loved the way his wand freely glided in and out of it.

Divad was getting better and better. Or so he thought. He would have to wait until Professor Lawson returned to know exactly how he was doing.

"Hey Jules! Did you hear we get to keep these." Divad said, flashing his wrist holster. "I told you Professor Lawson was cool, but creepy at the same time!"

Divad just beamed with excitement and joy.

Victoria kept trying out the holster, she could get her wand out quicker from the hip holster. It was cool that she could keep it, she will ask about the paintings soon.

Jule decided to get the hip holster. It felt more comfortable reaching across to her left side to get her wand. She began practicing and was drawing faster then she has ever done before.

"Hi Jules!" Divad said, trying to get her attention.

"hey Divad. Do you think I should get the hip holster?" she asked.

Grace didn't speak a word through the lesson, as usual. She liked observing. Demonstration was cool and she liked the hip one the most. Wrist was fast too but she thought she'd be more comfortable with hip holster.

What had the professor just said? 'All of you choose one holster and try it out.' Try-try it? Although she was burning inside to try a holster, she'd rather do it alone. Seeing many students do it without much trouble, she got up and went to the box. She took something which looked like a hip holster and she strapped it to her right. Hmm... This suited well. She placed her wand in it and went to a corner, just in case she was overexcited and did something awkward.

'Draw!'

At her first attempt, she flung her hand too wide and missed the holster. She checked where the holster was exactly, tried a bit slower to learn it. She then tried again and found the holster, but couldn't draw fast enough. On her fifth attempt however, she draw her wand in less than five seconds. That was very fine. She tried and tried again, until her hand ached. In her opinion, she became well enough.

"The wrist one is comfortable to me, but the hip holster is the classical choice. Hmm... if it's comfortable to you, I say go for it!" Divad said, winking at her.

"Hey Jules, I like the hip holster too!" she smiled at her friend as she draw her wand again.

"thanks." she said. Jule began swinging her hips side to side to see if it was comfortable enough for her. "this will do." she smiled.

Natka picked up one of the hip holsters and examined it carefully. It sort of reminded her of the holsters used in the sixteenth century by muskateers and such - she had loved watching those Muggles movies as a kid, and pretending hse had a sword to draw out as well. Of course, she had convinced her parents to get her a toy sword... but it just wasn't the same. Whereas this was a real holster, which could hide a real weapon, like her wand... she could just imagine herself whipping it out from the side of her hip if under attack.

It took her longer than she thought to adjust the holder, and when she first tried to whip out her wand in a stylish manner... well, let's just say that it ended in red sparks and a loud clattering sound as the wand ended up on the floor.

The second and third times she tried, at least her wand didn't fall, but it took her ages of fumbling before she could get it into her hand, ready for use. This really wasn't going that well.

Perhaps she should try the wrist holster instead?

This just proves how clumsy I am. I'll never get the hang of this! Natka thought in frustration as, ten minutes later, not only did she fail to retrieve her wand from her wrist holster at any respectable speed, but she didn't manage to get it out at all. It just sat there like a useless twig.

Feeling ready to give up, she raised her hand, hoping she could get some help.

"Professor, could you show me exactly how to get the wand out of the wrist holster, or maybe tell me what I'm doing wrong? I just don't seem to be able to do it at all!" she asked, feeling utterly depressed.

And so far, she'd been doing so well in classes...

"Natka. All you need to do, is flick your wrist like so." Divad tried to help her, showing his wrist holster and flicking his wrist in demonstration. "Taken, it will take some time to practice, but you'll get the hand of it."

Ruby watched some others and decided for a hip holster, she tried to draw from it but found her wand wanted to learn how to fly.......

She picked it up and tried again

clatter "oy" she muttered she picked it up a 2nd time and placed her hand up "Sir can i have some help please" she really needed it

Jule sighed and tried to figure out a way to take her wand out faster. She tried new movement techniques and are which one was better.

Anna stood, staring at her 'opponent' for a moment, then broke her stance and giggled lightly. She probably should practice this whole holster deal a few more times for good measure. After all, nobody ever became an expert on something after trying it a mere one time, now did they? Backing up a few steps, Anna slid her wand back into her new thigh holster. This new set-up would still take a bit of getting used to. It felt odd to have her wand somewhere else other than her pocket.

When she was ready to try again, Anna turned and made sure she was directly facing the suit of armor. It was much easier for her to practice drawing her wand while staring at a makeshift opponent. She eyed it for a few moments longer, imagining that it was really some terrible, up-to-no-good opponent she'd come across and needed to save herself and others from. Perhaps if she concentrated less on the actual holster, she could learn to properly draw her wand while giving most of her concentration to her opponent and her other surroundings.

Finally ready, Anna swiftly brought her right hand down to her left thigh, then pulled the wand from its holster. When it was out and ready for aim, she positioned it to where it was facing the suit of armor. Had she done it all quickly enough? Had she even done it properly in the first place? Those answers she didn't know, but maybe someone would be along shortly to clear things up.

"Jule, you're getting better! After this, you wanna head over to the dueling Arena to practice?" Divad asked, still beaming with happiness.

Oh... wow...

Talk about distracted.

Jake had been sitting for a while observing everyone else and their different methods. To be perfectly honest, Jake didn't even want to use a holster. They were wizards, not cowboys or policemen... Shooting a look of contempt over at the box of holsters, Jake approached it slowly, glancing inside. There was still some of each in there.

Why couldn't he just carry on as he was, holding his wand ready, like all the time. Or in a case of sneaky baaaaad real duelling, hide it up his sleeve. He didn't waaaaaaant to wear one. Pfft, he may as well take one or Lawson would be all 'mehnehmehhhhh' at him. "Professor," he called out, frowning as he pulled out a hip holster. "Do we have to wear them? Like, after the lesson, outside of here? Because... I don't think... I'd like it," he explained, turning the article over in his hands. How did this thing... start?

Which way was up? Was there an up?

Sarah glanced around at the sound of the door to witness the new school nurse entering the room.The Nurse? The Nurse is here?!?! What the heck is he going to have them do,try and injure each other?
She was starting to think that maybe Lawson wasn't as crazy as Kazi,after all her greeting when she entered was replied to warmly enough...but this made her think otherwise.Were all DADA teachers nuts?

At least she didn't volunteer for anything.Nope she was quite happy to stay in the safety of the masses.She wasn't going to go willingly and have herself injured,no siree.
Although it soon became aware that the volunteers were not going to be hexing each other,no they just had to draw their wands as quickly as they could.Well that seemed simple enough.When it came down to it,though,Sarah would not have been good at it.Although she kept her wand in her pocket for easy access it seemed that was not the best place to put it.A wand holster was.Interesting,I had no idea they existed!
As everyone else discussed who had been the quickest,Sarah nodded along with their answers.It had been the girl with the pink? holster.I must get me one of those.It was as she was thinking it that Professor Lawson asked them to go to the front and choose one from a box,and practice with it.Oh goody we can keep them too!

Walking slowly up to the front,Sarah peered down into the box to see what was left. "I want a wrist one..." she muttered to herself under her breath.Luckily there were some left,so she grabbed one and made her way back to her position.
Eyeing the contraption she realised that she didn't quite know how to put it on.I guess my arm goes through here....
Wait! Right arm or left? She listened as Lawson explained about that,then nodded as it made sense.Cross-drawing was quicker.So it had to go on her left arm.Right.No left...wait.Awww forget it.She slide her left arm into the straps and began pulling them tight until she was sure it was stable.Placing her wand inside it,Sarah made a few attempts at getting it back out.None of which were incredibly successful.
It took until her 5th attempt before she could remove it in what might be classed as a quick time.Well quicker than before anyway.
"Oh these are sooo cool!" she squealed,looking around at everyone else practicing with theirs.

Laura smiled up at the Professor. "Sure, Sir!" she said, standing up and making her way to the front of the classroom. Looking in the box full of holsters, Laura debated for a while between a purple shoulder one and a blue wrist holster. Finally deciding on the wrist one, she drew it out of the box.

Wow, Laura thought. It was so smooth, and so, so light! Not what she'd expected at all. Strapping it onto her left wrist proved to be a little difficult, but when it was done (which took a matter of minutes!) it felt so comfortable. Laura slipped her Oak Wand into it.

"Ok," she sighed. "Here goes nothing." Flick of the wrist. Nothing. Laura felt frustrated. Everything in the magical world had been ok for her up until now. So why wasn't this working?! Calm, just calm down and try again...

Her breathing returning to normal, Laura had another go. Flick of the wrist. Noth....WAIT! Her wand was actually in her hand! It was so unexpected, and felt so natural, that Laura hadn't even noticed! Smiling, and feeling, well, just a little pleased with herself, Laura looked up and around the room, seeing how everyone else was getting on, seeing if any of her friends where there, for she hadn't seen them when she had come into the classroom.

"sure..." she said. Jule wasn't sure if she was getting better for sure.

'Professor Lawson, is there a spell that you can use on your holster to make it invisible to others? I really like this thigh holster, but it's pretty obvious. If you could make it invisible...and your wand would be invisible when it was holstered, too. Well, I think that would be really groovy.' Jack asked, trying not to blush. He never spoke in class if he could help it, but that had all changed this year. This Prefect thing was extremely uncomfortable.

After practicing for a few minutes Krissy made her way over to Helios who was mumbling about how cool it all was. "To think I thought I'd never see yeh use this arm again after the way yeh went on with me healing potion and stitch job." Turning the prince's arm wrist up she traced her finger along the scar stopping at his pulse point. "If yeh flex this muscle here I think yeh shall find yeh have better control with wand release."Placing her own wand in her wrist holster she stepped back and flexed her wrist instinctively. The wand shot out quickly and into her small but firm grasp pointed directly at the boy's nose. Giggling Krissy lowered her wand she whispered. "This may actually give me advantage over yeh or Kayla in a duel." she shook her head knowing she was living in a dream world. Beat Kayla Winters? Riiiiight.

Laura turned to see her friend Jule at work with one of the hip-holsters. Maybe she would try one of them, or a thigh one. Laura pondered for a while with this though. There was certainly no chance of an, uh, 'incident' with the thigh holster, she wouldn't be seen dead in a dress or skirt. Unless she had too, but she would find a way around that rule!

Deciding to stick with the wrist holster, Laura turned. "Jule," she spoke softly. "Am I doing this right?" Flicking her wrist once more in a demonstration, Laura felt her wand in her hand. Surely Jule would know if she was doing alright; she seemed to be doing amazingly with her own.
