A few of her classmate's work in hand, Anna moved to the corner of the room to meet with the other volunteers the professor had chosen. After reading the task, which didn't seem too difficult at all, Anna addressed the group as a whole. "Well, this doesn't sound too terribly difficult. We do have quite a bit of parchment to look through, though," she said. She glanced down at the parchment she'd collected, which was a pretty big stack on its own. No telling how large the stacks of her fellow volunteers were.

"I have an idea to sort of help us get organized. Why don't we pair up and create several different lists amongst ourselves. Thirteen different lists as a matter of fact. That's one for each of the thirteen subjects offered here at Hogwarts. Each pair can take one of two subjects," she suggested. "After we've created those lists, we can do as the professor instructed and discuss whether or not we believe they are placed where they'd fit best. We can sort of work our way up to the creation of the master list. What do you think?"

"I think that's a great idea! I'll pair with someone who wants to work on Transfiguration and DADA." Satine agreed with a smile.

"That sounds good to me. The only problem I can see is some subjects are going to require more work than others. I doubt there will be many inventions, devises, etc to go with Divination and Arithmancy. I think Charms particularly may need more than two people to handle its work load. There are a lot of inventions that are charm related. We should maybe have three people for that subject."

"I'll just do whatever subjects are left over, Anna. You guys can choose first since I'm good at all of them anyway." Cela flopped down on the cushions, keeping one ear on the proceedings of the class and the other on Anna.

"Pairing up sounds like a good idea," Raiden murmured, sinking onto a cushion thing. He had a few papers in his hand that he'd managed to snatch from fellow students as he'd passed. "Uhm... can I work with Celandine? We could do...History of Magic and Charms, if you want..." He looked at Anna, then Celandine, who was so uncharacteristically uninterested it was frightening. "If she doesn't mind, that is, and you don't..."

"That sounds good. I'll take Defense Against the Dark Arts with Satine. I think we should wait until everyone has a subject before we double up too much. One more thing. Aren't we also suppose to come up with inventions, and stuff that weren't mentioned in class?" Abby moves her cushion closer to Satine. I think we'd better have one person for each subject who writes up the lists. We can come up with ideas between ourselves."

Satine smiled at Abby and then had a thought, "Do you think we should go ahead and list any important Wizards or Witches for each subject as well, since that's what they are going over now?"

"Thanks," Anna said, smiling at the young Ravenclaw who'd spoken up. "I'll work with you on Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts, then. I don't think we've properly met. I'm Anna Greingoth. What's your name?" she asked. She stacked her papers in the middle of the floor, then motioned for the others to do the same. "If we all stack our papers here, we can make all of them available to every group at once. That way we can make sure we've seen tham all."

"You're right, Abby. Would you mind finding two partners and taking care of Charms for us?" she asked. "Since you'll be in a group of three, do you mind adding Divination and Arithmancy to your list, as well, since there might not be as many items on those lists?" Abby seemed like a really intelligent girl. Anna had no doubt that she and two others could tackle those three subjects in no time at all.

"Well, looks like you two are paired up together," Anna said, smiling warmly at Raiden. "Abby mentioned something about needing three people to tackle the Charms list, since it might grow to be a bit long. Maybe, if you'd like, you two can get with her and take on the Charms list." She glanced at the others who still had yet to speak up. Maybe they could take on one of the subjects not yet taken.

OOC: Ahh, you guys posted, before I could see your replies. hee hee Just ignore Anna's suggestions, then.

"Oh, well, it seems like you all have found a partner, then," Anna said, listening to the chatter around her. "Let's see, we have...Satine and Abby doing Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts; Celandine and Raiden doing History of Magic and Charms; and...hmm...I'll do Astronomy and Flying/Quidditch." She scribbled a few things on a spare piece of parchment, then glanced back up at the group. "Would anyone like to tackle those two with me?" she asked. "Oh, and we'll need volunteers for the remaining subjects."

"Howzit! I'm Satine! It's great to meet you officially," she finished her introductions with a smile..."Here's what I've put together so far from the answers that I heard being mentioned in class and from my personal list"...she showed Anna the list so far:

Daniel listened as Anna was leading the class to the prosperity of the group work. He then watched as everybody had picked their subjects and started to work in pairs. "Anna is it possible if we can team up? Even though that my favorite subjects are Potions, Charms and DADA, little are my knowledge on the inventions in it." he said then looking at his list again.

Well, I can do Potions. he muttered below his breathe.

Fyo watched everyone with warm, misty eyes, before realizing that they had all paired up.

Hey, what about him?

"Since you seem to be handling everything around here - What am I supposed to do?" he asked, giving a shrug of his wide shoulders, and looking at Miss Nice Head Girl. "I'd love to work on Arithmancy."

Arithmancy - The love of his life.

"Hey, Daniel. Of course you and I can pair up," she said, with a smile. "I'm working with Astronomy and Flying/Quidditch, though. Is that alright with you?" Daniel would be a nice partner to work with. From Anna's experience, Daniel had always been a nice, friendly, hardworking guy. "If you'd rather work with some other subject, we have a few that haven't been taken yet, though."

"Hey there," Anna said, greeting a fellow Gryffindor who'd walked up and joined the group. "Fyo, right? I think that's what the professor called you. Anyway, I'm Anna. I don't think we've been properly introduced." She glanced down at the parchment she'd been writing on, trying to figure out which subjects were not yet taken. "We're all working together on this, but the subjects not yet taken are...Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Care of Magical Creatures, Divination, Herbology, Muggle Studies, and Potions. So, yeah, Arithmancy is free, so you and a partner can take that one. Which other subject would you like?"

Walking over to the corner Reid placed his things carefully on the ground before lowering himself onto a cushion. "I wouldn't mind taking Care of Magical Creatures." Reid said to the girl who had just said her name was Anna. It was one of his better subjects he supposed but he hadn't exactly liked it enough to put it on his list in the first place. Perhaps he should amend that, which would be easily done if he worked on that subject. "I'm Reid by the way." he said, introducing himself to the group at large.

Daniel smiled at Anna. "That would be alright. After all, I am finding it hard to think of something that can come from the subjects that I have picked. All I can think of are some potions and some charms." he said winking at Anna. He then smiled and thinks that Honestly, I am kindah out of my league right now.

As Rachel walked over to where they were supposed to be compiling a master list, she saw that everyone was already in pairs and working. "Erm Anna, I don't think anyone has taken Arithmancy yet," she told the Head Girl as she looked around for people that weren't already in pairs. Her eyes finally landed on an older boy, possibly a sixth or a seventh year since he definitely wasn't in her grade and walked over towards him.

"Hey Reid, I'm Rachel. It looks like everyone else is partnered up, so would you like to work with me?" she asked as soon as he finished introducing himself. Looking at the makeshift list that Anna had compiled, she saw that no one had indeed taken either of their preferred subjects and smiled as she turned back to the guy. I've never seen him before - wonder if he is new...

"Okay." Cela answered, immediately getting to work at putting together all the lists from their classmates. The sooner it was done the sooner she could relax on the pillow pile.

"Well... we need more things, I think." Cela told Raiden, "I added a few." She passed him her textbook, "There's a bunch more in here, some for the other subjects. Can you write the rest my hand is tired now." She flopped back in the pile of cushions and looked over at Reid, "There are a bunch for Care of Magical Creatures in my textbook, you can borrow it if you like, Reid."

Reid looked to his left and saw a pretty girl was talking to him. Rachel huh? She looked as if she could be a sixth year but she wasn't, so he was guessing she was probably in her fifth year here. "Nice to meet you," he said giving her a polite little smile. "I don't see why not." Reid said, having no preference for who he worked with. Probably because of the fact that he didn't know anyone. "Although if you want Arithmancy I think that Fyo kid just asked if he could do it..." Reid informed her, trailing off towards the end and clearing his throat slightly. Man was he tired. Sleeping in the Astronomy tower was so not fun.

Looking over to the girl he looked at her and tried to remember her name. He knew he'd met her before, having gone to her birthday party but he couldn't seem to recall. Ah there we go. "Thanks, Cela, I'd really appreciate that."

"All right then," Rachel smiled warmly at Reid and was just about to head for one of the cushions lying around when he spoke again. "Oh - bugger," she muttered, then eyed the list one more time to see what subjects she could take, since her top three were already taken. Maybe it's a good thing, my list was short enough as it was - I probably wouldn't have been much of a helper.

"Ok, so how about Potions? It's not my favourite, but there are quite a few inventions that could fit under that category," she said, turning back to smile at the taller boy. Potions, potions - yeah, potions was fine even though if she was honest with herself, the subject was a little dull... It didn't really branch out into anything other than the potions themselves. Ahh well...

Following the guy's gaze, she turned to see Cela offering him her textbook. She smiled and was just about to thank her when she froze mid-breath. What happened to Cela?! The girl Rachel was looking at was a physical copy of Celandine Toussaint, but she was nothing like the loveable Celandine she knew and loved. Hmm... After class, maybe I'll catch her in the common room later or something, Rachel thought to herself, her eyebrows knotted together as she looked worriedly at her unusually nonchalant friend.

Raiden took the list from Celandine and looked over it, nodding every so often. After a moment he added a few things to the History of Magic list, scratching his head as he tried to think of more to add.

"Celandine, wouldn't the armour and statues be Transfiguration instead? Because you're changing everything about it, rather than just adding something..." He tapped his bottom lip thoughtfully. "Would things like organisations and stuff like that go on the list? Even though they weren't really invented, they are something that we take for granted and stuff like that, and without them things would be drastically different..."

Awww more work.

"Yeah. But the transfiguration list is over there." She waved her hand in the general direction of Satine and Abby, "And it came into my head so I just wrote it down." She took the list back and made a few changes.

"Organisations like that? Good enough? I think we have plenty." Celandine made a face, knowing they probably should start on another list. "I'll do Divination." She volunteered a bit half-heartedly.

"There are some." She looked up and listened to the rest of the class answer stuff but didn't volunteer any answers. Who cared about dungbombs anyway? "So we still have Muggle Studies, Ancient Runes, Herbology and Potions unassigned? Herbology and Potions will be the easiest."

"It's not mine either, it can be kinda dull." he informed her, scrunching his nose up a little. "But there are some good inventions in it so I think we should definitely take Potions." Reid agreed with her and quickly notated the subjects they would be taking, before sorting through some of the lists to find things on Care of Magical Creatures and Potions. Once that was done he seperated them into two different piles. "So I'll do CoMC while you do Potions and I think once we've both put the information of the kids together we should then start on our own ideas for the subjects. If you want to that is."

Rachel blinked as the guy practically voiced her thoughts. Well, hopefully he's smart then I can use the phrase 'great minds think alike' if it happens again, she thought to herself with a small smile and nodded to the guy in agreement. "Ok, that sounds reasonable - let's get to work!" she said, enthusiastically as she grabbed the pile that he had made of their classmate's lists. He sure is tidy...

"But what if we don't agree with something that they wrote? I mean, some of the entries that people wrote just don't fit - if you know what I mean," she blurted out after reading through some of the parchments in her hand. It was a good thing she didn't recognise anyone's handwriting since the last thing she wanted was to humiliate or embarrass someone in front of the class.

"I think that if we know their answers are incorrect then we shouldn't include them, or maybe we should put a question mark next to it to show that although we don't necessarily agree with it we'll put it up there until we have maybe a majority ruling that it's incorrect." Reid said, hoping he made sense while going to work on the CoMC list.

Sighing Reid showed the list he had compiled to Rachel. Not sure how useful it would be as most people had seemingly given the same answers on the subject.

Daniel started in making his list so that he can double check it with Anna.

Daniel then scratched his chin. Hmmm, come to think of it, it has been his gesture when thinking. He then smiled at himself. What am I missing?

"Anna" Daniel called up "Here is what I came up with."
