"No, Cel," Copernicus put the rock away carefully and squatted next to her, his face all concerned. "Cel... watch your fingers, okay? You really shouldn't tease the niffler like that, and I'd hate for you to get chewed on."

"Hello Gambit" Tiffany laughed as he sniffed her "Don't worry, I haven't got any Gold on me!" she assured him. He was so cute! Strangely cuter than the other nifflers. "Your'e doing well!" Tiffany gasped at the number of things Gambit had found. That reminded her. Tiffany had to find more things if she wanted to do well in her favourite lesson. "Wheres my-" Tiffany was cut short as something tugged violently at the end of her robes. She looked down to see her Niffler holding what looked like a set of keys. "Wow" she mumbled, picking them up to have a closer look. there were about five large keys on a chain, and they all looked different. "I better give this to the Proffesor!" She said to Trixie.

"Cool." Dani smiled and tucked the key into her pocket. She wondered what it went to. Her niffler came back up. She had decided to call him Gregorio. "So Gregorio what have you got this time?" He dropped a few gold colored coins into her lap. The were really sparkly. "You like these don't you?" she asked him. She dropped the coins into her pouch and reached down to rub his nose. He wiggled away and dug himself another tunnel underground to find more shiny stuff.

"You're right...okay..." Melanie agreed wondering what she meant by 'going to see Merlin' (Wasn't he like a dead sorcerer or something?) but not bothering to ask. She tossed the coins their niffler had collected into the small pouch the professor had passed out, feeling rather proud of their niffler's findings. The Hufflepuff reached down to pat the creature on it's head fondly, wishing she had something to give it. She plopped down onto the ground, the coins jiggling around in her pouch as they moved around making. Melanie held the pipe in her hand, not sure what exactly to do with it at the moment. It didn't look so useful, just trash....she'd probably toss in a trash can after the lesson. Melanie was pretty sure the professor wouldn't want the pipe anymore than she did.

"Thanks," said Trixie. Gambit had found another 10 coins so she created an applause for him. Then she chuckled lightly at Tiffany's niffler. "Yeah you better Tiff...I wonder whose they are..." whispered Trixie. Then she thought it might infact be the professor's, if it was...uh oh! "By the way... you might wanna put your niffler back if we are gonna work together," said Trixie. Having two was probably cheating so they would get more gold. Trixie had never cheated in her life and never wanted to.

Tiffany looked around for Professor Morgan. She skipped over to her, and dangling the keys in the air she said "Hello professor. Look what my Niffler found!" She wanted to know what they were for. "Do you think someone might have dropped them?" It sounded stupid when she said it aloud. Not alot of people carried house keys in Hogwarts. "And.. um.. I've found a partner, so i guess you can have my Niffler back" She added quickly, pointing at her little friend. She would miss him.

"Ooh...yush!" Vanessa smiled, she had to go and see her kneazle! She had missed him. "But...I shall being visiting the nifflers." Around her studying off course. Smiling at Professor Morgan, she stroked the niffler once more, before glancing back at her. She really didn't want to give it back!

Vanessa smiled at her boyfriend, glad that they had made a good team, and got quite a few coins. "I know...we'll have to go and visit them" She nodded with a smile, glancing back at Professor Morgan. "I think so..."

Trixie rushed over to Tiffany and Professor Morgan. "Professor is it time to give back the Nifflers?" She was so absorbed in the lesson that she lost track of time. She hoped that they still had time. They were incredibly adorable! Care of Magical Creatures were one of her all time favourite lessons and she was enjoying it. She did not want it to end.

Tiffany laughed again, joining in the applause for Gambit. "Yeah, your'e right!" she gasped, looking around for Professor Morgan "I'll give him back" Tiffany smirked a little, before she added- "or her,"

"Or her," Trixie nodded. "Sorry for offending you if I did," she said patting its head. Trixie really did not want this lesson to end. It was swell so far and Tiffany was with her too. She had gathered so many shiny items in her pouch. Her little Gambit was still scooting about everywhere. Greedy thing, she thought whilst laughing.

Tiffany watched Gambit running around, dodging feet and and swooping around sharp corners easily. Then a sudden thought occured to her. "Why did you call him Gambit?" She asked thoughtfully. The name was strangely familiar.

"Oh I was bored one day and I walked into some Muggle shop and bought this random comic. It turned out to be the X Men series. Since then I have been hooked. I was 9 then so I have loved it for 2 years! It is one of the only Muggle aspects about me," said Trixie shyly. She remembered that day as if it were yesterday. She scooped up Gambit and held him close to her. She knew that it was almost time to give him back but she still wanted him to keep looking. Oh how she wished this lesson would not end!

Reese nodded towards Jack when he said they had 9 items. They were doing really well, actually, Saturn was doing really well. Jack and her weren't doing much, but just cheering Saturn on. So, yeah, Saturn was doing most of the work. "Saturn, your doing really well," she told the niffler, as it bounced around Jack's feet.

She watched as niffler ran off again. "Come on Saturn!" She cheered, watching the niffler dig in a little dirt patch. Finally! Saturn came running back to them and dropped two things at her and Jack's feet. She picked up the coin and the bobby pin and smiled. "Great job," she told the little niffler as she handed the items over to Jack, so he could put them in the bag.

"So... now we have 11 items," Reese told Jack, recounting in her head to make sure she did her math correctly. She turned back to Saturn, who once again was running around Jack's feet. "I think it likes you," she said, smiling at Jack.

"Okay, Saturn, let's go find some more shiny stuff," Reese told the niffler. Saturn stopped running around Jack's feet than scurried off again. It didn't take long until the niffler found a nice little grassy area to dig in. It digged for a few seconds, then it found somthing. Saturn came running back to her and Jack. When it reached them, it dropped 3 coins at their feet. She smiled as she picked up the coins and then petted Saturn. "Good job," she said.

"Just call me Simone." She smiled up at the boy. He was very gentlemanly calling her Miss and all, but it was much to formal for her. Now that she was holding on to their niffler, she nuzzled him a bit more before realizing, she was being a bit selfish with the little guy. "Would you like to pet him, or hold him even?" Simone asked, not sure what his reaction would be.




Simone giggled at Jake. He really wanted that earring back. "You know it wont close up in a matter of minutes. It would take at least a week, if not more then that." She thought for a moment before asking, "How long ago did you get that done anyways?" Earrings on guys...she liked it.






Noticing that Professor Morgan was watching Cela as well, she gave her a look of worry. She still wasnt sure what was making her act this way. Generally Cela was up and bouncing around. She was sure that Cela was usually in the midst of everything that was going on in class. There was something she wasnt thinking of...what could it be?

"That's...14," Jack said, counting them quickly as Saturn hopped and bounced around them, clearly ready for them to send him off once again. "Hey, did we determine if Saturn is a boy or a girl?" he asked Reese suddenly. "I don't think we have!"

Of course, he had no way of telling boy nifflers apart from girl ones, so he raised his hand. "Erm, Professor Morgan? I'm curious...is Saturn here a boy or a girl?" he asked. As he waited for her to answer, he scooped the items up into the bag and gave it a hearty shake, grinning and the clanging noise that issued from within.

"Ok Saturn, let's go! Go find something else!" he exclaimed. Saturn jumped and then quickly turned, running off and almost pushing another niffler out of the way. It began to dig in the middle of another grassy patch, and when it emerged, Jack saw, to his disappointment, that he only had one coin in his mouth. He had been doing so well too!

"Great job, thanks Saturn!" he said as he took the coin from the niffler and handed it to Reese. He shouldn't be TOO disappointed, after all, since he HAD brought back a coin...15 down, 5 more to go.

Gasp. They haven't even checked to see if Saturn was a boy or girl. Well, even if Reese did check, she couldn't tell a boy niffler from a girl niffler. She looked at Jack when he raised his hand and asked Professor Morgan if Saturn was a boy or a girl. She looked back at Saturn, who was now running off to find more treasure. She let out a little giggle when Saturn almost pushed another niffler out of the way. "Let's go Saturn!" She called out as she watched the little niffler sniff the ground.

She frowned when she saw Saturn running back with only one coin in it's mouth. Well, Saturn tried, right? She gave the niffler a little pat on the head and turned to Jack when he handed her the coin. She took the coin and slipped it in the bag and then closed the bag. "Okay, Saturn. You're doing a terrific job. Let's keep up the good work," she told the little niffler, cheering it on as it ran off to find more treasure.

Saturn ran around the area for a few moment until it stopped at another little dirt patch and started digging. Saturn stopped digging and started running back to her and Jack, carrying three coins in it's mouth. Reese cheered Saturn on as Saturn got closer and closer to them. "Great job, Saturn," she said as she took the coins from Saturn and slipped them in the bag.

"Ok, that's 18," Jack said with a smile. Two more and they would be all done. "Go on Saturn! Just a few more!" he said as Saturn bolted off.

The niffler took a little while longer than before, which was making Jack anxious. They only needed two more items, surely they weren't all GONE by now. There HAD to be more coins out there for Saturn to find. Finally, the niffler selected a grassy area near the root of a tree and started digging. Saturn retrieved the items and turned, running quickly and dropping the items on the ground.

Jack grinned and picked up the three items. They had 21! WOO! He dropped into the bag a coin, another coin, and...a girls hair tie.

How anti-climatic.

Saturn had obviously been attracted to the sparkley metal...thing on the one end of the elastic tie. It had been, at one point, pink, but the dirt had turned it almost brown. Well, at leat they had gotten the 20 required items...and an extra hair tie. Awesome!

"Good job Saturn!" Jack said, kneeling down and petting the niffler on the head. The niffler was hopping up and down, almost like it wanted to go get MORE stuff. But they didn't need anymore. They had all their objects. The niffler deserved a break.

They just needed two more items. TWO MORE! Reese stood up when Saturn went off to find more items. She hoped the little niffler would bring back two items instead of one.

Reese was getting a little jumpy as she watched Saturn search the area. Come on, Saturrrrrrn. She didn't know what was taking the little niffler so long. It wasn't like all the shiny stuff was gone, right? RIGHT?! She tapped her foot against the dirt as she watched Saturn closely. When the niffler started digging in a little grassy area, Reese's face brightened up. Saturn found something!

She was now jumping up and down as Saturn came running back to them. She watched as Jack took the stuff from Saturn and she clapped her hands when she saw it was more than two items. She tilted her head when she saw one of those items was a hairband. Silly Saturn. She got back down on her knees and petted Saturn just like Jack was doing. "You did a wonderful job," she told the little niffler, who looked like it wanted to go back and hunt for more treasure.

Abby sits on the ground covered in dirt. Her niffler is currently digging a whole big enough to plant a flutterby bush. "We're suppose to be hunting for galleons. That hole is big enough to hold a Gringotts bag full of galleons. I don't think Professor Morgan was dumb enough to rob the bank and hide her ill gotten gains in the patch where she's planning to teach us about nifflers." While the niffler continues to dig to his heart's content, Abby takes stock of her current stash. She has what the niffler has aready dug up surrounding her. It's not a very good cache. So far, Abby's niffler has only found about three galleons, but that's not the only things he has dug up. He has found two gold chains, four silver ones, a gold locket with diamonds on the face, and about a dozen assorted barrettes in silver and gold. The niffler also dug up several pieces of gold. While she sits, Abby tries to put them together. She thinks when she's finished they may turn out to be about a dozen gold goblets. This place must have been the Hogwarts landfill at one time. Although I think someone is still using it to dispose of his trash. My niffler has also found the remains of about ten Chocolate Frog boxes. I never realized they had such shiny interiors. Abby hears her niffler growling. She gets up and checks on him. The poor baby is trying to pull a silver bag out of the hole that is about five times his size. Abby bends down and picks the niffler and bag up. "It's okay. You know you can't handle everything. I'm very proud of you. We may have not found a lot of galleons, but you've done a great job of cleaning the area up." Abby rubs her niffler's back and places him back on the ground. The niffler goes off the burrow some more. Abby opens the bag and finds it full of assorted candies from Honeydukes. I think my niffler found someone's secret candy stash.

Tiffany listened, nodding. hmm... X Men she thought. It sounded familiar. Too familiar. Then she remembered "X Men! Oh, I've heard all about that from the kids in muggle school!" She explained, beaming. It was comforting to know that she wasn't the only one who had something to do with muggles (who, she had heard, were hated by some witches and wizards).

Tiffany decided to cut the conversation short as she noticed Professor Morgan looking their way. She pretended to be fiddling with the old badge her Niffler had caught, which she now noticed looked like a Prefect's badge. She looked down at her Niffler, now violently digging a hole right near Tiffany's feet, making an odd sniffing noise. She would miss her little friend.

The professor raised her head when she heard someone calling for her. "Huh, what do you know. More keys." She said, slightly amused. "Well they look a little old and tarnished. I think the someone that's lost them is probably long gone from Hogwarts. But good job Tiffany."
"Actually, it is. Go ahead and bring her up to me now Trixie and I'll call the rest in." She said, positioning herself near the center of the crowd.
Iliana smiled. Saturn was an adorable name. His real name had been Mowgli but not for long (he was still quite young). She thought she'd make Saturn permanent. "Saturn's a boy." She announced before giving him a curious look. "And I don't think I've had the chance of learning your name."

"Okay class, everyone bring your nifflers to me, one at a time. When your finished, return to the center of the paddock and count up what you've found."

Christine picked up her niffler and walked towards Professor Morgan. You would be a nice pet if I didn't own so many shiny objects she told the niffler as she put him. Here you go Professor Christine said handing the niffler over. Christine walked back to the center of the paddock and sat down. She took the bag that had all the item her niffler found and turned it over on the floor. Her niffler had found 11 gallons, a button, 2 bottle caps, a key ring, 3 gum rappers, 1 broach, a back of an earring, a shiny rock, and a fork. Christine smiled at all the things her niffler had found, and actually wondered how half of this stuff got here in the first place.

Jake shrugged a tad, as if to say 'it was worth a try', before he looked back up at her, petting the niffler. "I did it in the summer," he explained, touching his ear again. "Kinda borrowed my sister's earring, a new one... and..." he made a motion to show Simone that he had in fact just pushed it through. No ice, no pain reliever... nothing.

Glancing up, Jake listened to Professor Morgan and took the niffler from Simone, handing over the pouch to the girl. He wanted one last shot. "Can I have it back now?" he asked again, holding the niffler out. A niffler for an earring... pretty good deal, no?

Taking the bag from Lettie, Ott sits on the ground, and starts counting out the items their niffler Bandit had found.

"1,2,3...6....14...20...23, 24." after counting the coins out, he pulls out the little pieces of metal, counting those he finds about 5. Then he counts the gold chunks. Having 6 there, he picks it all up, and walks to the professor with Lettie.

"Professor, we have 24 coins, about 5 pieces of this scrap metal, and 6 chunks of these gold chunky things." he says gesturing to Lettie and himself.

Naomi walked up to the professor, "Here Professor, Iris and my niffler found 38 coins, 4 chains, a broken ring and a bit of metal. I hope it didn't find too many and take them away from other people." Naomi felt a little sad that it seemed as if their niffler found a lot more than anyone elses.
