Simone watched as the cute little guy scurried back too her group. She smiled as she saw him proudly saunter with two coins in his mouth. She giggled, and picked up the little niffler. "Look guys, hes found two coins." She placed them in the bag along with the pendant, and wondered if he could find anything else. "Go find something else, and quickly." Nifflers were fun. |

Eyeing the little niffler as it poked his head on the hole and once again came out with a few other gadgets, Willow's head cocked to one side with interest as Rachel examined the objects. Taking them gingerly in her hand before inserting them on the little pouch Professor Morgan had given them, Willow agreed once again with a nod. "I think so, too. Our pouch is full." And then she turned to look at the Niffler that was staring expectantly at the two of them. "Good job, little one," said Willow, using the same tone one would use to talk to another human being. Nevermind it was a creature - surely He or She would understand? Eh, whatever. |
Looking at Ash, she crossed her fingers with a hopeful look in her expression, "I hope we did well. Maybe even good enough to get some points for our houses!" ooc: I've got to go now, bye Ash! |

"Oh meh gosh!!! Kireh..." Jude flailed inwardly and happily as the niffler brought him a coin too. |
Satine and Kel's niffler paused when Satine said "Precious", so she assumed that could be it's choice....the niffler went back to burrowing and then finally seemed to have reached what it was looking for in the bottom of the hole...Precious stuck it's long black nose out of the hole almost beckoning them both over...Satine walked over to the edge of the hole and pet Precious' nose looking down into the hole...looking over her shoulder, "Well Kel, either Precious found something or it dug through to China or Australia or somewhere..." she laughed as she picked up Precious so she could see what the Niffler found...there in the dirt was what looked like a shiny goblet of somesort...it had some amazing details on it and had still had a shiny part on the handle...she rubbed Precious between the ears..."Well, Precious this looks like the best find...we may not have found tons of coins, but just look at all this eclectic shiny treasure you found!!!" she added the goblet to their pile of treasure and decided to head back towards the meeting place. |
"So now i guess we wait." she said. She saw most people had stopped digging. |
After several more trips back and forth, Elizabeth's niffler finally shoved his nose under her knee and dragged the silver locket she had been hiding out, then curled up on the grass with it, like it was a little silver security blanket or something. She smiled as she watched it sleep, hoping the little Gryffindor girl wouldn't be too upset she'd given her gift to a niffler. but then she scooped the last of her niffler's treasures into her pouch, making sure it was all safe. Once she had it all gathered up, she glanced inside, noting everything that was inside. About 25 coins, the gold necklace, the little silver box, a few little twisted pieces of metal, a silver ring, an old broken snitch, what looked like a pair of cufflinks, the crystal stopper to a potions vial. It appeared her niffler had found some place where all the lost or broken items from previous students had ended up, and she shrugged. Fastening the pouch up carefully, she stood up to go over to the professor to turn her niffler's findings in. |
How interesting...a hunt it was. Emiliano watched as Karma picked one girly nifffler. It seemed more affectionate of his partner than it was to him, problably a girl to girl chat thing... Fifteen coins were found by that tremendous and excellent creature. "May I hold it?" He asked Karma, as he held out his hand to reach it. "Yes Professor, could we come to the nursery and help you take care of them?" Emiliano asked, since he didn't do anything for CoMC project that last year. |

Stretching her back to get rid of the dull ache kneeling over had caused, she watched with satisfaction as Willow put the golden items in the pouch. "I don't think we won, but we did farely well with this little guy- or girl," she said and bent back over to pick up the black niffler. "Yeah, we're both proud of you," she said to him as she held him up to eye level, laughing as it wrinkled its long nose. "Do you think that's a smile or some sort of niffly pout?" she asked with a grin as she held him out so that Willow could see him too. He really is adorable... It wouldn't hurt to ask Professor Morgan if she could keep him, right? Or her? |

"I think it would be an interesting thing to do," she said. "Not even for points, but just because." Hmm. What would they name the little girl? She was cute. |
Iliana looked around again. Some students were finished, others had just begun. She knew that some of the chaos out there was preventing the younger or rather shier students from being successful. So she made another announcement. "Class, those of you that are finished, hold onto what you've found and bring your niffler to me. Let's give the others some room please." OOC: I am leaving this thread open for the students (my lovely 'other timezone' students) that have not yet had an opportunity to RP their charrie with a niffler. If you have already done so, please refrain from doing so during this time. I will be back in a few hours. Please hold off on posting until I return. And no more chatting just to chat or I will take points. |
Robert watched as his niffler was digging for Merlin only knew what. It seemed like he had been digging for far longer than necessary that was for sure. Maybe I got a defective one. He only likes dirt. Smirking he leaned against a tree with a sigh. His eyes caught sight of Liz and he sighed again as her niffler seemed to be doing it's job. Yes, definitely got a broken one. He pulled out his pocket watched and flipped it open. The glint of the gold catching his nifflers eyes and the next thing he knew he was being pounced on. "OI!!! Ruddy beast." He pushed the niffler back only to trip on a rock behind him and fall down, the niffler landing on top of him and digging in his pocket to get to the gold watch which Robert still had wrapped securely in his hands. "Gerr offf!!!" |

"...yep, just because." He slightly nodded and smiled. Then he heard the professor calling for the nifflers and the coins. Ahh...he wanted to get hold of it more time.... |
Divad guestered at Jule to hand him their niffler. |
It was possible that Cela's niffler had found coins, she however, had decided to sprawl out flat on the grass and stare up at the clouds. It was much more entertaining to look for treasure in the skies than a few galleons beneath the ground. It wasn't like she needed any money anyway. Except maybe to get more de-lusting potion. She jumped as the niffler nuzzled her hand and she turned to look at it, noting that it did indeed have a few galleons in it's little mouth. She gently extracted the galleons and pocketed them, taking off her locket and trailing it across the nifflers nose and watching it get all excited and chase after it. Cela liked nifflers, but meh. |
Jule handed the niffler to Divad. She was tired from the running and going in circles. |
Jude sighed and looked at Kiri. She seemed to be enjoying this little furball so, but it was time to give it back. "'Ey Kireh... Oi'mma give 'er de nifflah back noiw..." he said and gently stuck his hand out to try and grab the niffler. The niffler sniffed his hand and nuzzled it a little bit, seemingly proud of his work today. And he should have been, he served them well. Jude grabbed the little guy and scooped him up into a loving embrace for a little while, petting the guy's head before he started towards Professor Morgan. "Where d'ya wan' meh ta pu' 'im?" he asked upon approaching the professor. He held him out ever so slightly so she could take him if she wanted, but the niffler was still getting plenty of support to not be freaked out, just in case Jude had to take him somewhere else. |

Shrugging in response to Sarah's words, she said, "Yeah, maybe not. I don't get how some people were finding so much with their nifflers..." Or at least it seemed that way to Mariel. But their niffler did a good job, she thought. Looking up as Professor Morgan addressed the class, the third year gently picked up the exhausted niffler and carried him over to the professor as she instructed. Then she made her way back over to Sarah, still holding onto the pouch of treasure and standing slightly out of the way as more nifflers scurried past. |

Finally, the niffler dove back into the dirt, sending up a little puff of dirt as it dug. He turned back to Cela. "Are you ill? Why are you lying in the grass?" |

Nevermind that there were REAL nifflers digging about everywhere. HUM. "Did we find enough galleons?" She held up the three she'd taken from the niffler, tempted to toss them away and have done with it. |
Quote:
"I don't think there's such a thing as 'enough' galleons in a treasure hunt. We don't have the most, no. But I found a rock!" He wasn't even going to show it to her, because Cela quite clearly couldn't focus on anything except the clouds and occasionally the grass. |

As the niffler looked at her, then slowly crawled off Robert, she smiled again. "Good niffler. Now go find him some fun shiny stuff that he doesn't already have," she said, as the creature looked at her for a second, before running off to dig in the dirt again. Then she looked at Robert again with a grin. "See, it's not that hard. But you may want to keep your watch hidden again until after class, just to be careful," she said to him, before standing up and glancing toward Professor Morgan, her niffler still asleep. |
Robert saw a shadow fall over him and squinted his eyes from his place on the ground to find Liz over him, "Thanks...how about telling me something useful to get it off, eh?" He watched as she crouched down and tried to coax the niffler off. "That's not going to...oh..." he said as he crawled off of him and headed to dig another hole. Sitting up he kept his watch firmly in his pocket, "Thanks...I think he's slow or something. He must've been digging in that other hole for five minutes and not finding anything." He stood up and rubbed the back of his head where he had hit it on the ground. Glancing at his niffler who was still digging and not finding anything. "See..." he shook his head and looked at the professor then at Liz. "Thanks for your help." |
