"I think he's almost done." She said to Ott, opening up the bag and taking a peek inside, looking over all their gold bits. "Did a pretty good job though...I think we have over twenty-four coins and other stuff."

"Good name for him." he nods with a grin. "I think so too. I wonder what the other stuff is from though. I think someone else just found a pipe..."

He was sure their niffler was acting more hyper than the rest. It was like it was on some crazy sugar rush or something.

"Oooooh, what's this?"
As he leant down, the niffler looked up at him through small, beady eyes and spat an old screw in his hand. Eh. "That's not treasure!" Hmpf. But it WAS shiny.

Tired? Hah. "I dont think ours does.." Evangeline honestly said, though she wasn't even sure if Clifford had been talking to her. Anyway, no matter how hyper it looked, it had to get tired, right? "I bet they do. Looking for treasures must be tiring.."

Her train of thought came to an halt when the niffler came back, but this time there was no treasure he was carrying. "Oh no.." Evangeline started, eyeing the screw on Clifford's hand. "Do you think he got tired already?"

OOC: If you already have over 20 coins its probably fair to say that your niffler has found all he's going to find. Be realistic please. She deposited a SMALL bag of coins in the soil if you recall. Not all of Gringotts.

Kiri looked up when she heard the professor's voice. Just a few more minutes? She looked at the little pile of coins in her hand. Her and Jude's niffler had barely found more than seven or so. Judging from the joyous shouts and whoops of her classmates, that made it one of the less successful ones.
Not that it mattered much. The little creature was still running back and forth as busy as ever, although it did so in increasingly long intervals as there were fewer coins to be found, and it did so with so much apparent joy that Kiri was, strangely enough, a little proud of it all the same.

The last object it brought appeared to be a serrated piece of iron. Kiri removed it from the niffler's mouth carefully to avoid the pointy ends. "Stay, I think the fun is over for today," she told it. Amazingly enough, the niffler didn't run off again, but sat down close to her and Jude, sniffing the grass. Kiri patted its head gently, waiting for Professor Morgan to call the nifflers back.

Sure enough, it was coming out. "Willow look!" Rachel exclaimed as the niffler dropped THREE items into her hand and immediately went back down - maybe he found many shiny things down there. "This time it's one coin, a simply golden ring and... a lump - a golden lump," she said and held the items above her head for her partner to see. "Do you think that's pure gold?" she asked, the excitement evident in her voice.

Hmph. It seemed alomst impossible that some people had managed to find so many stuff in SO little time. "If they do, that would be cheating because Professor Morgan told us to follow one only." Yep, yep. Cheaters they were, if they were using more than one niffler.

Upon hearing excitment in Rachel's tone, Willow took her eyes off from the possible cheaters and look down at what had the prefect so excited. Ooohhh. THAT was better than coins. For sure. "Well, at least we managed to find three coins the golden ring and the lump." It was good enough, right? Not that it mattered anyway, seeing that the possible cheaters had a lot of golden stuff. A LOT of them. "Hmm," her eyes squinted as she examined the objects, "It LOOKS like pure gold." Her head tilted to one side. "But then, so does Leprachaun gold, and we all know that one dissapears. So I think it's hard to tell." The only way to know if it was some kind gold that resembled the Leprachaun one was by keeping it, but something told the sixth year that doing so would get her in trouble.

Turning around to look at Professor Morgan as the woman spoke, a little sigh came out from her slightly parted lips. "Apparently, it's almost over." The little game, that is.

With a final pat on the back, Anna released Sammy the Niffler back out into the paddock. She giggled softly as he scurried around, actively seeking out any shiny objects buried by the professor. "Gooo, Sammy!" she called out, clapping her hands and cheerling loudly.

"Oh, look," Anna said to both Shana and Brant, pointing at their niffler. "He's found something long and shiny! I think he might have a necklace!" Anna continued to watch as the niffler scurried around, picking up a few more objects before getting a mouthful and scurrying back over to the group. When he got there, he dropped a long, shiny, gold necklace and three coins only the ground. "Oh, it is a necklace!" she said, dropping all four into the pouch.

Shana smiled.Poor Sammy such a little thing doing so much work. All for them awww.She scurried after him.Maan he was faast.Go Sammy.Come on get those coins! "I think that's it now." Vanessa commented, as she niffler came back, and knelt down in front of them, dropping one more coin. "15" She nodded, with a smile, as she picked the little niffler up gently, and let him rest in her lap. "We are a good boy aren't we." She spoke softly, whilst stroking his back. Looking up, she looked at the other students, wondering how many coins they had got.

As the niffler came back she took the coins off him and grinned at Naomi, "thats 38 coins, 4 necklaces or chains, whatever you wanna call 'em, a broken ring and a bit of metal! not bad eh?" she said griining.

Clifford dropped the worthless screw in the pouch Evangeline was holding. Sure, it was no treasure but if he dropped it on the ground the niffler would likely just bring it back to them. Stoopid shiny things.

"He doesn't look tired," the seventh year stated, head tilted to one side as he watched the fluffy thing dart off again. Definitely not tired. "Maybe all the coins ran out already." Bah.

"Do we get to take care of these little ones, Professor?" Karma asked keenly, holding her niffler.

Anna called out, clapping and calling out for their niffler once again. As he'd done time and time before, the little creature scurried throughout the pastures, using his special niffler abilities to scout out any signs of treasure. Anna watched as he dodged several of his little friends in an attempt to get to some treasure before they did.

In not time, the little niffler was back at Anna's heels, and she scooped him up to find that he'd brought back several more coins, another ring, and a chunk of some sort of metal. Patting him on the back, Anna dropped all the shiny objects into the pouch. "Well, it's all full," she said, glancing over at Brant and Shana. She scooped the niffler up into her hands and pet it softly. "Good job, Sammy!"

"Good point - but if it was Leprachaun gold then don't you think it would have disappeared by now? It's only meant to last a few hours, I think, and Professor Morgan put these in yesterday or even the day before," she answered with a small shrug and turned to gaze intently at the little whole their niffler had created. Their niffler was definitely a bit smaller than the rest, so maybe there were some that were just a little bigger and so were able to extract more coins at once?

"Ooh, ooh, it's coming out again!" Rachel said, ignoring Willow's comment about this being almost over. Grinning, she held out her hand and saw the niffler drop a few more objects into her palm. She bought her hand close to her face to examine it properly and grinned as she saw that it had bought three items yet again. Two coins and a small bracelet, to be exact.

"Here - I think it will be our last batch," she said and straightened her back as she rose to Willow's height and handed the girl the golden items.

Not.

But ... they were out of coins already?! "Whaaa? No! That can't be! It just got distracted, that's all." She informed Clifford with a short, but firm, nod, looking at the niffler digging and jumping and rolling once more. "OOOH! I think he has something!"

As the Niffler came back again he dropped another 4 coins, silver this time.Turning to Mariel,Sarah smiled before picking them up. "I think the poor little guy has had enough," she giggled as she watched him sit down, panting.
Flicking them over in her hand she did the mental calculations. "Well I make that 17 coins.Probably won't be enough," she said, sadly, extending her hand for her friend to place them with the rest in the bag.Glancing back down at the Niffler,Sarah sighed. "Good try, though little guy.Thanks."

Lowering her head, and kicking the ground with her foot,Sarah stood waiting for the Professor to speak again and give them further instructions.

Miles blushed as he let go of Vannie's hand, gently. "Sowwy." He pouted, hoping for some sympathy as he stopped, and did as he was told. To stand and wait for the niffler to come to him. "Yes m'am." He smiled both at Prof. Morgan and Vannie. EEE! He was so excited at what the lil' niffler would find.

"N'awwww!" Well done dude." Miles liked to call animals 'dude', and he continued to ruffle the top of the niffler's head. He wanted to name it so badly! "You can tell he's a little tired. How cute!" - he was such a girl.

Satine watched as Kel followed behind their niffler....he was just sniffing and digging up a storm...Everytime he found something she put in their pouch...She stopped as the niffler began digging furiously at a lower spot on the grounds underneath to sticks that were crossed...She laughed and pointed it out to Kel, "Look it's almost like X marks the spot...." While the niffler dug, she sorted through their pouch...the niffler had found a bountiful of items...they had two rings, three earrings, a variety of screws and bolts and nuts, seventeen coins, ten coke tabs, four foil balls, and a random spoon that the niffler had been especially proud of....as a thought hit her she asked, "Kel, if we name it do you think it'll work even harder...you know like a connection or something......let's see what kind of names it likes...." she watched the nibbler dig dig away....it had burrowed down pretty far this time...."how bout Jewel?" the Niffler just kept digging...."ummmm...Precious?"

Lord Divadicus 05-29-2009 09:52 PM

"I think we did pretty good. Don't you?" Divad inquired.

Just distracted? With their hyper niffler that seemed pretty likely. Trust them to get the craziest one of the bunch. But Evangeline reckoned it had something!? EEE! It looked like it did!

"Another coin!" Clifford exclaimed, punching the air triumphantly. Oh yeaaah! One more coin for them. He hadn't noticed that everyone else seemed to have treble the amount of coins they had. He was EXCITED!
