She followed the niffler to a patch of earth, where it looked like it was recently dug.

Professor Morgan knelt down, stroking a niffler's back. "Class if you still haven't found a niffler, try being calm. People don't like it when someone's chasing after them and neither do magical creatures. They are SWEET by nature. They WILL come to you." She pet the niffler again as if proving her point.

"For those of you who already have your creature, get started finding that treasure. Time will be up before you know it."

OOC: Okay guys, calm your charries down please. What I need you to do now, is RP your niffler finding treasure and bringing it back to you. Its what they are made to do so this shouldn't be too hard. Have fun but behave please.

Beat who? Was she not paying attention? Eyeing Rachel with the corner of her eye, Willow realized that the prefect was busy shoting glares at the first years. And why wouldn't she? They obviously were not familiar with the concept of NOT talking during class.

Great. Groaning under her breath when Professor Morgan docked five points from Ravenclaw, Willow's eyes fized on the talking first years. Now it was her turn to glare.

With one look of disdain at the one who had lost points, she focused her attention on professor Morgan, who had just released the Nifflers. What were they supposed to do now? Catch one? She . . . she was NOT touching a niffler. Nope, she wasn't - but Rachel was. Right? Heh-

"Do you reckon we should go for that one?" Willow asked, pointing to a particularly little niffler that seemed to be about to start digging. "I mean, not for it - for the treasure it is going to find." Ack. They were losing time! So without waiting for Rachel's reply and expecting the girl to follow her, Willow made a beeline towards the said niffler.

Iris grinned at the niffler, "um... OK, but what am I supposed to do other than watch it?" Iris asked as she came and knelt down next to Naomi. Iris watched as the Niffler dived into the mud as if it were water.

"Yes, dig!" Divad yelled at the niffler. He wanted the five points badly.

"I prefer greedy over a pushover." Lettie said as the niffler came darting over to the two students and dropped a small bracelet on the ground. "Um...thanks." Lettie said as she black furball streaked towards the treasure again, digging hard against the soil. It was truly adorable...like a dog puppy tunneling through snow...or a mouse in paper. Right.

George looked up as the professor told off someone. He giggled as the kid muttered to himself. Not wanting to draw attention to himself, George shut his mouth quickly and just watched.

She had let them out of their cages and now Sarah looked down to see loads of the little furry things running around her feet. "I suppose we have to catch one?" She directed the question at Mariel,not sure whether she knew the answer or not.
She steadied herself and got her eye on one imparticular...then launched herself at the thing,landing with a thump on the ground.Oh great she'd missed.All she had to show for it was a fist full of dirt and dirty robes.Luckily another scooted past just as she looked sideways. "Gotcha!" she screamed.Scrambling to her feet she held the thing up triumphantly. "I got it!"

Stroking it gently to calm it down,Sarah began talking quietly to it. "Ok now little fella,please help us to find as much treasure as possible,and maybe Professor Morgan will let me give you something shiny to keep." Yes she was trying bribary.
Slowly bending down she released it from her grasp and watched as it went running off in the direction of a tree. "Wait for me!" she called,running after it.

The nifflers looked like a cross between a rat and a dog, with shiny black fur and a long snout. When the professor released them, they immediately darted out of their cages onto the field. Whether their sense of smell (or whatever sense it was that detected treasure) was really that acute or just instinct that propelled them away from their cages, Kiri didn't know, but they really were rather fast. They ran through the waiting students and past them.

A few reacted quickly and hurried after their nifflers. Kiri was a little nonplussed for a few moments, she just stood there, staring at the creatures who immediately began digging like mad, sending earth and grass flying in wide arcs. "Come on," Kiri said, tugging on Jude's robes. (She had no problems touching him, unlike with Raiden.)
"Let's follow one of them. Err... That one, with the white hair coming out of its ears." She pointed and started after it, across the field.

Simone was about to reply when suddenly the nifflers were let loose! She squeeled with...not fear...yet not excitment either...as the furry little creatures scurried towards them. Actually, more towards jake.

She gasped, placing her hand over mouth as two of the furry little things punced on him. She couldnt help but giggle at his face. "I think we are supposed to pick one and follow it." She said between giggles.

Then Professor Morgan was yelling at him. Obviously the nifflers wouldnt have jumped on him if he didnt have something on him. She hoped the Professer wouldnt be to hard on him for forgetting to give it to her.

"Oh look! 2 coins." she said and picked them up. "Let's try that spot over there." she pointed

Kel smiled as a niffler came over to him and Satine. He glanced at his partner, then at the creature? "Shall we?" he asked, smiling as he started walking off to an empty space, and watched as the niffler started digging. Did it know that there was treasure there or something?

Lily watched Ash and the niffler interact and smiled. However, after getting acquainted with Ash, the niffler quickly rushed off towards a shady area beneath a tree. It started to dig ferociously with its shovel-like paws in order to get to the treasure that lie beneath it. Was it jewelry? Coins? A memento of some sort?

Ash watched Lily try to get the niffler to trust her. Ash also watched the niffler sniff Lily's hand and turn away. Laughing Ash walked over to the niffler and said "Hey there little buddy, I wont hurt you I just wanna give you shiney things" Ash laughed silenty to her self as the niffler came up to her and sniffed her hand

"Eep! Don't yank my arm off Miles" Vanessa giggled, as he dragged her after a niffler. After a few steps, she stopped, mainly as the niffler was back above ground. "Hey buddy." She cooed, crouching down, and stroking it's back. "Looks...if we stay here he'll come back to us." She nodded, with a smile, as the niffler went off again to find them some more treasure.

Laura continued watching the Niffler. It had found her two coins, and had started moving again. Following it to another patch of earth, Laura got sprayed once again by mud. "Dig! Dig!" she urged.

Looking at poor Ricco, with his pet all alone. He wonders if he should invite him to join Lettie and him. "Ricco, would you like to join us?" he calls, hoping he says no...

"yes! oh thank Merlin, i thought i was going to be alone" Lyra said and looked at Grace smiling

"Im not sure." Naomi said taking another coin out of the niffler's mouth and putting it in her pocket. "They do this by their nature so probably we just watch it and collect the coins. The niffler found a shiny chain and happily turned it over to her.

Her niffler dug up two coins, one silver and one gold. They moved to a different patch of earth.

Anna glanced back and forth between Brant and Shana, ready and waiting for the signal to begin. She had to fight the urge to just take off running right at this very second. She was excited, and no, she was not afraid to admit. With a smile widening across her face, Anna set her eyes on the professor, still ready and waiting. She nodded when the professor warned them to be careful. Of course she didn't want any accidents. That was no fun. Nope, none at all.

As soon as the professor flicked her wand and the nifflers were free, Anna started to take off and chase after one. However, when she realized that may very well scare the poor little guys, she stopped herself and instead knelt to the ground. Should she call a niffler? I mean, did it come to people like dogs did? Hmmm...only one way to find out. "Hey, little guy," she said, slowly crawling on all fours towards a nearby niffler. "Come now. I'm not going to hurt you." Her hands outstretched, Anna edged closer and closer to the niffler. Finally, just when she thought it may run away, it slipped neatly into her hand. Smiling and standing, Anna hurried over to Brant and Shana. "Alright, I've got one. Now all we have to do is have it locate some shiny thing for us!"

Ricco noticed as his partner decided to ditch him so letting his Niffler have free reign over the patch he watched as it ran around before begining to dig. "What you got there boy.....or girl" He said not really knowing what his niffler was. Walking to the spot were his niffler dug he saw something shiny in the hole "MISS MISS" He shouted over to were the professor was "I think i have something"

"Dig! dig! We need to win those house points back..." she said and watched her niffler dig into the ground.

"Yes! Let's move over there." Divad said, excited about finding the two coins.

Karma's niffler ran back up to her, bringing her back 2 coins.

"Yay, good niffler," she said. "Go get some more!"

That little bugger was fast, and darted back down into the dirt again. She wanted to know what else was hidden in the ground besides the coins.

"Professor," Karma said, over the class. "What else is hidden down there?"
