Classroom Eleven An empty classroom on the ground floor. ooc: All SS Board Rules apply in this thread. |
Natasha just wanted somewhere quiet to be, and as her common room was no longer an option, and most of Hogwarts just seemed so busy, she ended up here. An empty classroom. Well, at least it was quiet. Natasha ran her hand through her hair, and leant against the wall, looking around thoughtfully. |
Kevin walked into the empty classroom cause he was scouting out for a place to hold a party and he looked around and thought that this would be the best place to hold a party and he would have to hold it in the next little while before time ran out |

"Parseltongues." His tone was clipped, as if he was reading it straight from a book. "Rare, but not completely unknown, ability to speak the language of snakes. Famed wizards known to have this ability included Salazar Slytherin, Lord Voldemort, and Harry Potter. Inborn ability, unable to be taught as far as I know." |
Christian is right. Copernicus is no friend of mines. He wouldn't act this way if he was. She can tell by his tone he thinks this is some kind of lure to get him alone in the classroom. He flatters himself to think she is the least bit interested in him romantically speaking. "Then you can't teach someone to speak parseltongue. He couldn't have learned it at Drumstrung. Is it true that being a parselmouth is a sign of being a dark wizard?" Abby gets up and walks around. Being around Copernicus Kettleburn always makes her feel uneasy. She doesn't know why she lets him get under her skin the way he does. |
"Nothing is truly a sign of being a Dark Wizard except using Dark Magic, right?" Cope watched her pace with his face blank. She was a twitchy one. "No one magical gift can tell what someone's intentions are, or will be. You aren't more or less likely to be bad just because you speak parseltongue, although I'm sure that having people treat you with bias and hatred doesn't help." |
Aislynn snickered at the conversation she was hearing. She's usually not one to eavesdrop, but the conversation was fascinating. Oh, parseltongues, she thought to herself, How common they really have become. You can hardly walk down the halls without someone claiming to be one. She went back to reading her book, hoping to be overlooked by her snickering gesture. |

"I don't want to treat him with bias or hatred. On the contrary I don't know how to handle the whole thing. I heard some kind of hissing sounds and then this snake appeared out of no where and slithered off. I wanted to ask him about it, but he ran off with a fellow Gryffindor. Then I wasn't sure what to do. I was looking for him when I ran into you. I shouldn't have bothered you. We aren't exactly friends, but I figured you know more about Parseltongue than I would." Abby stops and looks at Copernicus's face. It reminds her of the headmaster from Barrows. He looked at her the same way when he had decided she was guilty of something. "Talking to you was definitely a bad idea." |
"Nooo," Copernicus wasn't looking at her as if she was guilty at all... more like she was crazy. He hadn't said a word to her in recrimination, and she was acting all nervous and twitchy about it. Maybe she was taking some sort of odd medication? "It's just that I have no clue what you're talking about. You asked if I knew about parseltongue. Is that some code that should let me know who the "him" in your story refers to and why you should care if he's a parseltongue or not?" |
"The he is Christian Black. He's a sixth year transfer from Drumstrung. I met him in the Student Garden. We pruned Flutteby bushes together. I happen to like him, and he likes me which is more than I can say about you and me. Christian is in Gryffindor House, so I doubt you've met him. I didn't know Ravenclaws were such snobs and only associate with each other. I wanted some imformation on Parseltongues. I thank you for telling me what you know. I don't know if I should tell him anything. I don't want to pry into his private life if he doesn't want to share it with me. I don't get it. Does everything have to be about him? I honestly don't see what Celedine sees in Copernicus. At least Plymouth is warm and cuddly. I'm sorry I don't make everything as clear as you do. Some people actually understand what I say and mean." Abby wonders if all blokes are like Copernicus. No that can't be true. I honestly can't understand why all the girls in Ravenclaw are attracted to him. Must be a bird thing I just don't get. What can you expect. I'm just an inferior Hufflepuff. I should have talked to Professor Kazimeriz. He insults everyone, so I don't feel like such a freak. |
At some point in communicating with Abby Wright, Copernicus came to the realization that she was an unpleasant person. No matter how polite he was, no matter how complete his answers, no matter how helpful he was by being locked in this room with her, she would still find him at fault for her own failings. He hadn't forgotten to explain the details of the story... but he was at fault for not being a bloody Seer. It was really a very long day without crazy Hufflepuffs. Crazy rude Hufflepuffs. "You don't want to pry into his private life, and I don't want to pry into yours. If you don't mind, this is already significantly inappropriate considering our lack of familial or social bond. I'll keep your confidences, but I'd thank you not to share them with me again." He fiddled with the lock behind him on the door and slipped out of the room as soon as it was open. |
A lot of help he was. I don't know what's wrong with that guy. Is he always that cold and aloof? I try to be polite to him. I try to make polite conversation, and he always twist thing his own deluded way. It's like walking on egg shells with that guy. I give up. I sure hope we don't have to punk with those snoppy Ravenclaws. Abby walks out of the classroom totally disgusted with that rude boy. |
Water trickled in the empty classroom, wetting the floor around the tables and chairs. Then the water suddenly froze and the classroom looked like an indoor ice rink. |
As the temperature warmed, the ice began to melt and the water started to rise once again at top speed. It was cold, and it seemed angered by its having been frozen. |
As Arethusa said, the water was drained out, the injuries healed, and everything was restored to normal. |
