Linda said 'a-par-EE-see-um' like the others.Linda raised her hand and asked 'Professor,is there any way of locking the object so that this charm does not work?'

"A-par-EE-see-um." Chris siad the incantation aloud, and then wrote the pronounciation down in his notebook. Any questions? "Nope Professor its sounds clear to me." he finished with a smile.

Iris listened as the Professor sounded shocked at the recent happenings. poor man. she thought. "A-par-EE-see-um. A-par-EE-see-um. A-par-EE-see-um." She repeted the incantation several times to make sure she remembered it. she looked at Aaron to see how he was doing, After all, he'd said himself that "he was no good at charms"

Gossiper? Oh, Ian sure hoped that this boy wasn't mistaking the lesson as an excuse to figure out who was gossiping about the students and staff of Hogwarts.

"No, I do not know who the gossiper is, but if you would like to figure it out, I suggest you do some research on your own time. We are doing charms right now."

Ian waved off the minor digression and addressed the boy's question. "As for your other question, it all depends on the magical strength of both the cloak and the spell-caster. Generally, your average witch or wizard should be able to reveal your average invisibility cloak if they really put some umph into it, but your more high-quality cloaks are going to take a rather skilled and powerful witch or wizard in order to be revealed. Good question!"

"Yes, that was excellent!" Ian exclaimed, clapping for the girl. She seemed to have be quite unsure of herself, so Ian wanted to make sure to try to encourage her. There was no room for self-doubt in charms work, or else you might end up with exploding feathers instead of floating feathers.

"You know...I don't remember. I took the labels off and now I just can't remember. Why do you ask?" The kid sure was sneezing a lot. Ian just hoped he wasn't allergic.

"If you're asking if there is some form of true, impenetrable invisibility, the closest thing there is is the invisibility cloak from the story of the Three Brothers. However....that's long been out of circulation."

Ian noticed his pants slipping a little, so he grabbed them by the belt loops and hoisted 'em back up to where it was comfortable. Why did he always forget to wear his suspenders?

"It seems like you've all got the hang of the incantation, class, so let's get started on things! Before class, I went around and wrote some things on the wall. There's nothing special about what I wrote, but you may be surprised at the randomness of some of the words because ad libs are fun! What I want you to do is to-" he noticed the class starting to squirm, ready to jump up to the walls and start revealing all the strange things he had written, like the sentence about the tennis-playing octopus drinking milk on top of a goat. "Wait until I say go! So uhh....ah yes! I want you to find all of the hidden messages I wrote in this classroom. They're on the walls, on the floor, on the ceiling, on desks, etc. Oh, and then I rearranged the desks, so if you're curious to see what I wrote, you may or may not have to rearrange them. The sneaky little things sometimes wiggle themselves back.

"And remember. You simply point and say Aparecium! Ready? Three. Two. One. GO!"

And they're off! It was madness with one student heading to the walls first, hustling and bustling and pushing other students out of the way like it was a competition of some sort....which it definitely wasn't.

Chris walked over to a wall to get started he wondered to himself if he really wanted to know all the random things that went on in Mr. Ashby's head, but oh well, loked like he would find out soon. He arrived at a large expanse of wall and cleared his throat. He touched the tip of his wand to the center and said "Aparecium!" He stared as a sentance began to appear. He read aloud.

"While playing tennis, the Octopus drank a glass of milk."

He peeked over at AShby hiding a smile. And then said to himself. "Ooookkk........" And then looked for other things to appear.

"Erm...I'm allergic to Jade, the ink." Clark said as he sneezed three times in a row. "Um...seriously allergic." Achoo! He hoped it wasn't Jade...cos he would hate to have to go back down to the Hospital Wing.

He then stood up on his desk with his wand and repeated the spell a few times, looking for some of the messages. "Aparecium!" Achoo. "Aparecium!" Achoo, achoo. Sneeze. "Beware the frog and water at midnight." Flooding maybe? No idea.

Iris giggled at the Professors' overly happy approach to the whole lesson, what had he written on the walls? she thought, looking round, not wanting to be the first person to get up and was slightly relived when that Gryffindor Prefect got up first. Laughing at the discovery of his, she stood up and walked to a plain patch of wall as she took out her wand. "Apericium!" nothing, damn I said it wrong. "Aparecium!" Iris knew she got it right, but there was nothing hiding on that bit of wall. Slightly dishearted, she turned around and looked for somewhere else to try.

ZOMG! This sounded so cool! Invisible messages written all over the classroom? Professor Ashby was insane. But booooy, was he a genius! Clifford scrambled from his desk, knocking over his seat in the process. He whipped his wand out from its usual home tucked in his trousers.

"A - Aparecioom!" The Head Boy instructed his wand, kneeling down and pointing the tip of his wand on the floorby the Professor's desk.

Nothing happened. Maybe that meant there were no messages there?

"Apairciom!" Still nothing.

Satine thought this sounded great! She jumped up and looked straight up to the ceiling...if she had written hidden messages this is where she would've put hers...she flicked her wand and proudly said, " Aparecium! " As she looked at the roof she thought she saw something slightly and wondered if she had done something wrong, so she tried again, " Aparecium! " There finally something was scribbled up there but she couldn't make it out.

She raised her hand, which was probably hard to see with all the other students flicking around, so she said loudly, "Professor, I think I've found something on the ceiling!" she said triumphantly pointing upwards with a smile.

Fallon got up and walked over to a wall not that far from where she was standing. She pointed her wand and said, "Aparecium." Nothing happened. Maybe that means there is nothing there? She shrugged her shoulders and went back to the desk she was sitting at. Fallon said, "Aparecium." She saw some faint letters appear for only a second, but she knew there had to be something there.

Cam said the spell in his mind first without doing it. Aparseeyum? No that wasn't quite right and he looked at the others for a little bit of help. Aparseeyumyum. A-par-I-see-yum? He was still doing it inside his head and then the professor spoke already... speaking about...INVISIBLE words INVISIBLY hanging EVERYWHERE around the room...?! No. Way.

Way.

He didn't wanna keep saying it over and over again in his head, he wanted to try it nowwww because well, it seemed fun! Taking out his green-ish wand from his holster, he quickly looked for an interesting place around the classroom with... maybe even interesting words. Cam left his seat and wandered around the classroom and then wondered if that CERTAIN wall was an interesting place... no?

Give it a shot. Cam walked over there to the wall and said the spell. "Aparseeyum," he muttered and poked the wall with his wand. Hmm. Nothing. Maybe... the spell's roots really came from a Spanish word...? "Aparrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeseeeyum."

... nothing.

Iris looked over as Satine called the professor, and being the curious little Slytherin that she is, she walked over to near where Satine was looking up, and smiled at her. Iris looked up too and tried to make out what it said. "it.. Something else... gah... How on earth are we meant to read that handwriting?" she asked her self. Turning away she pointed her wand at one of the other walls "Aparecium!" she said. nothing. "Aparecium!" Some words slowly formed on the wall... There was a ladybug sat right here before... Iris giggled a bit, wondering if she had read it right.

Emiliano woke up from this sudden thought ocean, when Professor Ashby just said, hidden messages, all around the room...now time to go get them. Whee..!! He was going to have some fun uncovering hidden messages.

So, he took his wand out and chose a random place. Just beside the window, he enchanted, "Aparecium..." And this little message, weird message by the way...said:

Linda raised her hand,stood up,took out her wand and said 'Aparecium' pointing it at the wall.A sentence appeared on the wall slowly. 'A seeker drank coffee while playing quidditch' she read it aloud.She looked at professor ashby and smiled and asked'Professor,I've heard that while Hermione Granger tried to read Voldemort's diary using this spell,it did not work.How was it bewitched?'

Weee!!! How exciting!!
Apparently there were a huuuuuge number of invisible messages hidden in this room and they were supposed to find them. So, with her wand at the ready and a huge beam plastered across her face Nancy almost bounced off her chair. Now, where to start?!

Pointing her wand at the floor near one of th ewindows Nancy exclaimed a cheerful "Aparecium!" before letting her eyes scan the part of the floor she had just directed the charm at. But, what?! There was nothing there. Nothing. But...but...Nancy's face fell as she slowly lowered herself until she was actually sitting on the floor. But, she had done everything correctly, hadn't she? Maybe, there was just nothing there to be made visible. Hmpf...

Lyra jumped up and walked over to a part of the wall. She loved Professor Ashby, he was fun...and crazy and right up her alley. She found a spot to stand, pulling out her wand from the inside pocket of her robes, she pointed it to the wall, casting a silent Aparecium spell. Now it was time to watch the words appear as she...well...some spells came natural.

How could they know where to point their wands at if the messages were not visible? Did they just have to guess? Eh. It sounded like a loooot of time would be wasted. With a light shrug of her shoulders, Evangeline simply pointed her wand at some random spot on the wall. "Aparecium!" She firmly said and then ... well, waited. Hmmm. Nothing.

Go figure.

Shrugging at the wall, Evangeline looked down at the floor. Hehe. Messages written on the floor were funny. Surely there was something there. A bit more confident, Evangeline pointed her wand at the floor. "A-par-EE-see-um", she repeated once more and suddenly a message was written on the floor.

The Squid enjoys going to the opera.

Fallon tried again. "Aparecium." This time some words appeared and stayed visible. It said:

Purple hippogriffs

She looked at the words in confusion and figured the rest of the sentence must be on the other desks nearby. She said "Aparecium." as she walked over to the respective desks.

The one to the left said: enjoy playing with
The one to the right said: choclate frogs.

Fallon figured the desk must have been placed out of order. She put the first desk she tried on the left and the one that said "enjoy playing with" in the middle. The sentence the desks created was:

Purple hippogriffs enjoy playing with choclate frogs.

She looked in confusion at the words. Wow. Professor Ashby really must be off his rocker. She raised her hand and said, "Professor, I think I found a sentence on these three desks."

Okay, so this was cool. Really cool, actually. One question, though. How on Earth was a girl of five feet two inches supposed to read something written on the ceiling of all places? Maybe he'd done those words and sentences extra big or something? Hmm... She'd just skip that location for now. She'd tried a desk or a wall or a spot on the floor. Then maybe later, if she was doing really good with the charm, she'd attempt those messages way up above. For now, though, Anna headed over to a nearby desk, ready to get started and see if anything was secretly written on it.

She pointed her wand towards the seat of the desk and said, "Aparecium!" Not wasting a single moment, she moved the direction of her wand towards the desktop and did the same. "Aparecium!" She continued the same process, pointing her wand at different parts each time. By the time she was finished, she'd casted the spell on the seat, the desktop, all four legs, and even the underside of the desktop. She was pretty sure she even got a random spot on the floor, too. With that done, it was now time to check and see if any sentences or words could be seen...

Looking down at her desk, Laura got excited. "Aparecium!" she shouted, pointing her wand down.

Dangerous things mean silly -

Laura only caught the start of a sentace before it was gone. Wriggled off to another desk no doubt.

Iris looked over at Fallon and read the message on the desks. She tryed not to laugh, who would have thought of that? He really must be mental... Iris looked around at all the students and decided where to check next. the back of the door perhaps? nah.. The windows? meh... The floor... Iris pointed her wand at the floor and said, "Aparecium." Nothing happened, Iris sighed and looked around at the class. Everyone seemed to be enjoying theirselves and Iris just found it rather boring.

alex ran around to the closest wall then was saying the incantation over and over untill he got it right and then on a little part of the wall revealed some words.

Not that difficult at all! At least it was easier than the Apparating lesson had been. Twirling her wand in her hand as she decided which spot to attack with the spell, Daphne Hopton walked past several desks already suffering magical demands.

Pointing at a spot on the floor Daphne chanted the incantation. "Aparecium!" Then the chair next to it, and the top of the desk.

"Aparecium. Aparecium. Aparecium!"

If anything was written, surely it'd show up soon enough...

Copernicus raised his eyebrow at Hopton's seemingly random method of pointing her wand and incanting. Oddly, it was the most likely way to go about finding some words. He stepped to her side and pointed his wand at the wall above her head.

"Aparecium." No luck. He moved down the wall a ways, pointing at his knees. "Aparecium." Really no luck. How were his classmates so GOOD at finding things that were invisible?

Cela looked around and wrinkled her nose. Merrrrr.

No fun practicing easy charms.

So she just sat at her desk and flipped open an advanced charms textbook, reading that instead.
