I might even learn to like this soon, she thought to herself, although in the back of her mind she knew how unlikely this was. She might not mind doing such working outs in the future, but... like them? That could be going a bit too far. Looking around her and seeing most of the other students still engrossed in their work, Natka opened her textbook to read up on the Life Path Number in more detail. She had, of course, skimmed through the book during her holidays, as well as all her other textbooks, but she hadn't had time to read anything in much detail, and so she decided to do so now, in preparation for the upcoming discussion and analysis. |
Quote:
Having given the students ample time to perform their calculations, Professor Shackleton jotted down a note of house points earnings so far on a spare bit of parchment before continuing the lesson. "We are now ready to begin analyzing our Life Path Numbers. Remember that this number tells us the road you'll follow throughout your life, as well as your talents and abilities that will help you along that road. It is a major tool for navigating the road of life and tells what you can depend upon to find success in the world. "While others may share the same Life Path number, it is the combination of all your numbers that will help to clarify how to proceed down this path of life. By the end of the term, you will understand that combination. And so we'll begin our journey with interpreting the Life Path. Who would like to volunteer to have the class analyze their Life Path? I suggest that the person who volunteers be very comfortable having an entire classroom discussing their potential future, and both the good and bad that may go with that." |
Demetria's hand shot up. "I'll volunteer!" she said. This year she really wanted to be active in all of her classes. Please pick me! she thought to herself. She remembered Anna talking about how the Gryffies needed to be more active this term, and Dem wanted to make her and Chris proud. |
Discussing her potential future? That sounded kinda scary... yet fun at the same time. Tentatively, Mariel raised her hand. "I'll volunteer, Professor." |
Feeling a bit daring today, and also feeling pretty sure that someone else would volunteer, Kel raised his hand. "I'll volunteer," he offered. |
Noticing that three others had already volunteered, Jake shook his head to clear it so he could focus. "If you need another, Professor, I won't mind," he commented. |
Alana was begining to get quite interested in this subject. "I'll volunteer" she said raising her hand. She simply couldn't wait till the end of the term to know the full extent of her life's Path. |
Herminny tentatively raised her hand and said, "I'll volunteer", even though she really didn't want to she knew the deficit of her house was great and house points may come from volunteering and she was gonna do anything she could to get Gryffindor out of the deficit. |

Turning to Demetria, Macadrian requested, "Ms. Weasley, please post your calculations of your Life Path Number on the blackboard for all the class to see. Once you complete that, please read from your textbook the corresponding explanation for your Life Path Number, found in Chapter Six." |
Demetria jumped up from her seat with her Arithmancy textbook and walked over to the chalkboard. "Yes, ma'am." she began writing her calculations. 8=8 1+2=3 2+0+5+5=12; 1+2=3 8+3+3= 14; 1+4=5 As she finished up her work, she opened up her textbook and began reading the explanation for the number 5. "Number five says, 'You'll have many forks along your path and you'll welcome each change as a new opportunity with unknown results. Change is key and once you've learned this lesson, you'll move on to the next phase - championing freedom. You're progressive and super-resourceful, which make you equally good at many different trades. Career/vocation options include working with the public, advertising, publicity, or sales - any kind of work that calls for energizing power rather than routine. Travel is well-suited to you.'" She looked up from her book to Professer Shackleton. "Does this mean I would be good as a shopkeeper?" she asked. |
Quote:
Professor Shackleton contemplated her question, then gave her opinion, "I certainly think a career as a shopkeeper could be consistent with the description of working with the public, advertising, publicity and sales. I think there are also a number of other careers that would match that description as well." Professor Shackleton turned her attention to the class, "I'd like for anyone who wishes to partake in the discussion to try to interpret the book's description for Demetria and how it describes the road she'll take, her talents and abilities, and/or possible career options that match the book's list. Go ahead. Discuss!" |
Mariel listened intently to the Gryffindor girl's readings of her number as well as Professor Shackleton's opinion and imploration of the class discussion. Thinking for a moment, she raised her hand. "It sounds to me that she won't be happy stuck in one place. Maybe she'll move from job to job - not necessarily in an aimless way, but maybe in a more progressive way. Like always striving for bigger and better things. She won't be happy in an entry-level job, which will push her into always striving for something better after she learns all she can in that position and the ones after that." |
Kel frowned as he reread the paragraph from the book. Change is the key... Getting an idea, he raised his hand. "Is it saying that change will do her good? To keep doing different things...enjoy her freedom?" he looked at Shackleton curiously, wondering about the answer he'd just given. His number was the same as the Gryffie girl's...it was kinda weird how #5 talked about freedom, when this year, Kel had actually gained real freedom... |
Ruby listened and looked in her book and raised her hand and said "by the sounds of the career she might be suited to become and Auror as it says "any kind of work that calls for energizing power rather than routine. Travel is well-suited to you.'" she could do well in the ministy aswell?"" |
Brant wrote his answers down on his Parchment. But he seemed to have alot of trouble with it, everything seemed backwards to him and he didn't know why. Raising his hand he waited for the Professor to get to him for he badly needed some help. |
Natka read the description in the book carefully once again, before voicing her opinion. She found it rather challenging to interpret the book's explanation properly, but she did the best nevertheless, smiling at Demetria as she did so. "I think that the first part, which emphasises the importance of change, means that you'll have quite a colourful life. It could mean changing jobs, or living quarters, countries even, or it could mean chaning social circles and friends, I'm not sure about that. In any case, it seems to say that once you get used to making these changes and ambrace them of sorts, you'll be happy with this lifestyle. The fact that you're so resourceful probably means you'll have more than one type of job, or perhaps the same type of job just in a different place, which is probably the most likely thing that will be changing in your life, as I said before. So, your resourcefulness and creativity allow you to work well with people, and this sort of job is never boring, as whoever you might meet at your job will be different. And the fact that travel suits you only emphasises your tendency to change things in your life - this would refer to changing countries. Looks like creativity, resourcefullness and the ability to communicate well with people are included in your talents, and as for career options... shopkeeper perhaps, or a travel journalist/writer maybe? Anyway, it looks like you're up for an interesting life, Dem," Natka winked at her, still smiling, before turning to look at Professor Shackleton. |
Aaaaaaaaand his brain was now barbequed. Rubbing the side of his head to get of a monumental headache that had just prung up, Jake raised his hand and looked to Professor Macadrian. "Erm, Professor... could you please rephrase what we have to do?" he asked, neither embarrassed nor ashamed about being confused. It happened. |
Alana listened to Dem's explanation of her Life Number. "Hey Dem," Lana said. "Maybe you would be good as a curse breaker. I mean I'm sure they travel a lot and never do the same thing. It migt be a good idea" |
Demetria smiled at all the jobs being named. "I would definatly be happy with any of those. They all sound like fun." |
Jack was a bit confused so he raised his hand and asked " Professor, can you explain what we have to do again please?" |
Shaunee smiled as she listened to her classmates discussion back before Hogwarts maths was her favourite subject so she had really been looking forward to Arithmancy. But her shyness had over whelmed her, as usual. She glanced down at her parchment to check over her working. Shaunee Hale 29th August 2057 8=8 29=2+9=11=1+1=2 2057=2+5+7=14=1+4=5 8+2+5=15=1+5=6 So her life path number is 6, Shaunee opened her book to read what it had to say about her future. Shaunee hoped the Professor called on her as she wanted some deeper understanding of what the book had told her but she was too frightened to raise her hand. |
Sydney quickly followed Prof. Shackleton order & started calculating her Life Path Number. Quote:

Trixie was momentarily confused but then she got it. She quickly scribbled down her working for her master number, it read: 1st April 2057 4/1/2057 4=4 1=1 2+0+5+7= 7+7= 14= 1+4= 5 So 4+1+5= 10= 1+0= 1 Her number was one. She ruffled open her book and searched for the meaning of her number. She jotted it down. She wrote: You are very justice oriented and would do well in a career with justice of the peace or a lawyer. Although many cultures view six as sinful, it is the symbol for equilibrium and uniting of the six existences. You are very detailed and thirst for knowledge. You are also very stubborn. Your number is depicted as Justice, as you rule with what is right, rather than what is fair. You have a hard time practicing with what you preach. You are a natural born leader, even if those leadership talents haven't been developed yet. You have the power and self confidence to succeed in life, and your power grows daily. Besides power, you also have a great deal of creativity that enables you to innovate instead of fail. You are a visionary, seeing the big picture instead of all of the trivial little details. Trixie hoped that she had got the readings correct. She raised her hand and patiently waited for the teacher to attend to her. |
Kevin was still a bit confused he had done the work on his parchment but couldnt make head or tail of it |
Victoria was sitting at the back of the room trying to figure out the sum, she was also rubbish with maths. |
"Ooooh, hang on," Jake said, raising his hand again as he glanced down at the book. "I think I get it. Maybe Demetria... would be good in a wide range of jobs and paths. She can, maybe adapt? Yeah, adapt to do what she needs to do in life or whatever. Maybe a teacher would be good... I dunno. I'm finding it hard to think of a specific job there. Maybe working with people, as people are different everytime and you have to change ways of dealing with them and stuff." |
Grace listened as they were discussing Life Path of 5. She reread the book and thought on it. "--any kind of work that calls for energizing power rather than routine.--" Yeah, an Auror'd suit. "--publicity--" that too. But there were many jobs as well. Grace remained silent as the discussion went on. She was too shy to talk, and since all her theories had already been spoken, she just listened for this lesson and was angry with herself about staying passive all through the lesson. |
Herminny wondered why no one mentioned the obvious and said, "I think a good job for Demetria would be an auror cause you have a wide range of skills and you have to be resourcefull with those skills. Also I would imagine being in the position of an auror things are constantly changing everyday cause it's their job to protect the wizarding world and new threats from all over I would imagine pop up all the time so this intense career would be great for a person like Demetria of a number 5 life path." |
Professor Shackleton was pleased with the discussion. The students were off to a good start in interpreting the numbers, but she hoped the next part of the lesson would allow them to think more freely and outside the box. "Very good discussion. I'm going to give you all a choice - we can either use another volunteer as an example and the whole class can offer their opinions, or you can all begin to assess your own Life Path number individually. Which would you prefer? Either way, you'll all assess your own number, the question is whether or not you'd prefer another example before getting started on that." |
Raising his hand, pleased he hadn't messed up too much so far that lesson, Jake said, "Professor, as long as the others are okay, I'd like it if we could start to look at our own." But then, panicking, he hurriedly added, "But I'm not, like, demanding or anything." |
Demetria looked at her fellow classmates. Either one was fine with her. She had already discovered her life path number. Now all that was left was to figure out what job would be good for her. |
Victoria was still trying to figure out her life path number, she looked round to see if anyone else was struck. |
Lyra also raised her hand high in the air, "professor, i agree with that Hufflepuff over there" she said pointing at a second year male who answered the question first. "we should start looking up our own" |
Jule was confused. She did understand it a bit and tried new ways of figuring out her life path. |
Hearing that the majority of the class felt like it was time to research their own life path numbers, Satine looked down at her calculations: December 12, 2056 1+2=3 1+3=4 2+0+5+6=1+3=4 3+4+4=11 She opened her book and turned to the appropriate page to find some more guidance and find her number.... She waited for the assignment to be announced.. |
^ the current year in the rpg is 2068 :) Mariel listened intently to the opinions of her classmates and jotted down a few notes about Life Path number five in the hopes that it would further clarify her future interpretations. As the professor spoke, Mariel looked up and thought about her question. She was the next person to have volunteered and she really wanted to hear other people's interpretations about her own number. The interpretive part of the class seemed to be the most difficult. And although her opinion didn't seem to be the popular one, the third year raised her hand anyway. "Well, Professor," she started slowly, keenly aware of the many pairs of eyes on her. "To be honest, since I was the second person to volunteer and, if I'm correct in assuming, would've been the next example, I'd really like to hear everyone's interpretation on my number. Just to get a few more opinions than my own..." Shrugging lightly, she lowered her hand. "Or... whatever, I can do it on my own. Either way is cool with me." |
Brant opend his book and wrote down his date of birth. finding out that his number was 11. He looked below and read his answer to him self. 2/21/2057 2=2 2+1=3, 2+0+5+7=15, 1+5=6 answer 2+3+6= 11 Quote:

Cedric took a parchment an a quill and continue calculating his Life path number. 3/5/2056 3=3 5=5 2+0+5+6=13,1+3=4 3+5+4=12,1+2=3 Final Answer:3 Cedric then raised his hand like others did when they finished their calculations hoping that he get the right answer. |
Sarah kept quite throughout the lesson. She was not used to that much talking around in lessons. The time for work had arrived and she pulled out her parchment and quill. She looked at the people sitting around her, they all were starting to work on and she dipped her quill and wrote. 12/22/2057 1+2 = 3 2+2 = 4 2+0+5+7 = 14, 1+4 = 5 3+4+5 = 12 Sarah finished her with it and raised her hand just like Cedric, she smiled at him and then wondered whether she got it all right. |

Sydney quickly jotted down the details about her life path number and set the book aside. She raised her hand, "Prof. I'll like to assess my own Life Path Number. I've found the details about it, now all I need to do is interpret it" She started to read what she copied from the textbook about the number 8 Quote:

"I'd like toassess my own please,"Trixie said with a smile. Trixie had already solved her master life number. It was a 1. She reached for her quill and scribbled down what it meant, in neat handwriting. You are very justice oriented and would do well in a career with justice of the peace or a lawyer. Besides power, you also have a great deal of creativity that enables you to innovate instead of fail. You are a visionary, seeing the big picture instead of all of the trivial little details. She put her hand up and waited for the teacher to reach her. |
Laura heard the discusion but didn't join in. Maths had always been a strong subject of hers, but this was so utterly CONFUSING!! She glanced at her calculations. 17/11/2057 1+7=8 1+1=2 2+0+5+7=14, 1+4=5 5+2+8=15, 1+5=6 Laura wondered. She didn't have a clue if it was correct, let alone what it meant, so she raised her hand like the others around her. |
She wrote down her birthday and tried to figure that sums. 20/11/2057 2+0=2 1+1=2 2+0+5+7= 1+4=5 2+2+5=9 Hurrah, she has finally figured it out, so she put her hand up so the professor can check it. |
Ruby looked at her parchment and sighed and with her neat handwritting she wrote Quote:

22/2/2057 2+2=4 0+2=2 2+2+0+5=9 1+4=5 4+2+5= 11 Thomas looked at his answer he thought it was wrong badly but he raised his hand so the teacher can check it. |
Victoria writes neatly the text and waited for the professor to check it. NINE (9): Your path will lead you to understand the interconnectedness of all things. It's a path of universal love that learns compassion and tolerance. Once you've learned this lesson, you'll move on to the next phase - tolerance for all and the importance of caring for each other. You're a born healer and your healing may take the form of writing, composing, painting, or sculpting - reaching others by truly connecting to them. You'll be learning how to let go, to surrender the self for greater good. Career/vocation options include the arts, international business, education, and health - any line of work designed to help, heal, or humanize. |
Thomas wasn't sure about his answer but he started writing carefully the text. Much is expected of you with this Master Life Path. Your path will lead you to illuminate humankind inspirationallly. Sometimes you will work at the level of the 2 to bring toward you meaningful associations so that others will find you accessible. Once you've mastered your lessons, you'll move on to the next phase - becoming an inspirational leader. You're a born charismatic leader, magnetic and electric. You'll often find yourself in the spotlight, as the center of attention. Your mission is to be someone others look to for illumination and truth, and the truer you are to Universal principles, the happier and more successful you'll be on your path. Career/vocation options include any field where you can be the teacher, diplomat, or speaker or any field were you'll be in the spotlight and able to work with large groups. |
the professor had asked to check each and every one's individual path number. isabella got down to do her calculations December 12 2057 12=1+2=3 12=1+2=3 2057=2+0+5+7=14=1+4=5 therefore,3+3+5=11 "oh...i have a 11...but i dont think we have the numbers up till 11," she thought. "i hope i have done right and not done any stupid silly mistake," she hissed. maths always used to get on her nerves. though she did well in it but obviously not without hundreds of silly mistakes which led her to do a lot of practice. "no wait i think i read about doing something with numbers like 11,22"she said to herself and opened her book to the chapter on life path numbers. "um...i dont think i have understood this", she thought as she read "but why do we do that? why not add 1 plus 1 to get 2?" she thought. she thought of asking that question to her Professor and raised her hand. "um...excuse me professor," she called out |
Ana wrote her birthday and started the calculations. 14 April 2056 1+4 = 5 0+4 = 4 2+0+5+6 = 13 = 1+3 = 4 5+4+4 = 1+3 = 4 Yeah! done! Well done she hoped. Ana opened her book and read what it said about the Life Path number 4. Quote:
Ana smiled reading what the book said. |
It seemed to Professor Shackleton that majority of the students were eager to assess their own numbers, and that many already had started, so she confirmed the assignment, "Alright. Your own numbers it is! I'll come around and check your work as we go." And with that, she began strolling about the classroom, making her first stop at Mariel's desk. Quote:

Turning her attention back to Sydney, she explained, "I certainly think this means you could run your own business, though I'm not sure how well Gringotts suits this. The goblins run the show down there and while you could certainly move up in the ranks, you won't ever really be in charge. As for the Ministry, perhaps you're meant to hold a leadership position - head of a division or a department? That would certainly fit with this description." Quote:

Making her way across the room to Laura's desk, Macadrian surveyed her work and found no errors. "Nicely done. Go ahead and read what the textbook says about 6 Life Paths." Quote:

Professor Shackleton requested of the class, "Now that majority of you have calculated your Life Path and looked up what the textbook says about it, I'd like for you all to assess what you think it means. We never take the textbook at face value without applying to our own lives. So, does it apply? And if so, how? Do you think it is accurate or completely off the mark? Does it make you feel optimistic? Apprehensive? I want you to really delve into what this information could mean for you." Her eyes met with several students, then she encouraged, "Get to work." |
how could I forget my birthday...ugh! Quote:
"O no, I wrote the wrong date down....I guess I was thinking December is the twelve month...my birthday is on the 13th of December..." She crossed out the 12 and replaced it with a 13...."so then would it be okay?" She sure hoped so because that life path number explanation was just her to the letter....or number.... |
Cedric gave a small grinned to the professor then he take a look to his textbook. As he find the findings,He write it in the parchment. Quote:

She knows that she like to paint but has always wanted to be a healer. |
Okayyyyy, now... what was my Life Path number? Jake rifled through his parchment, not knowing how he managed to do this already. After he fould the sheet which had the crossed out stuff, he knew he was close. And there it was, in royal blue ink. The number 7. After a cursory glance at the calculations, Jake nodded and went for the textbook. Quote:
Quote:
"Weird," Jake murmured, reading the rest of it. He wasn't sure if he was seeing the similarity because he was looking for it... but... it did seem right. "This is like... right. I do... I tend to analyse everything... overly so, actually. And, I suppose, I do tend to help out and... well, I spend alot of time thinking and in the libr-" He suddenly stopped himself, realising he had been ramble-mumbling. Looking around furtively, Jake hoped he got the number right, or he'd feel a right idiot. |
Brant re-did his answers and this is what he got 2/21/2057 2=2 2+1=3, 2+0+5+7=14, 1+4=5 answer 2+3+5= 10, 1+0=1 [quote]ONE (1): Your path will take you down the road to independence, and you'll learn its benefits standing on your own two feet and becoming a strong individual. Once you've honed these traits, you move to the next level - leadership. You're a born leader and your path in life will present you with many opportunities to demonstrate your ability. Your strong pioneering spirit, courage, and determination will serve you well along this road. Career/vocation options include fields where you can use your quick mental agility, such as business, health, government, or even a bookstore.[/qoute] "Is this correct Professor?/ Brant said. |
Demetria looked back at the board, and then to her book. "This is very well suited for me. I'm very antsy and cannot stay in one place for a long time. I think being an Auror would be great." she told professor Shackleton. |
Laura smiled when Professor Shakelton anounced that her sums where correct. At least her maths skills had followed her into the wizarding world. Flicking through the text book and found the correct interpretation of her Life Path Number, 6; Quote:
"So, Professor, does this mean that I'm a very balenced person?" she asked. "It says that my vocation should be something that will enable me to help others, including medicine and teaching. I've always wanted to train as a healer or teacher, does this mean that I should? Is this, like, telling me that my ambitions are true to my life path?" |
Natka worked out her Life Path Number quickly, quite sure this time that she hadn't encountered any problems. Or at least, so she hoped. 5 / 5 / 2055 2 + 0 + 5 + 5 = 12 = 1 + 2 = 3 5 + 5 + 3 = 13 = 1 + 3 = 4 So, her Life Path Number was 4, then. Feeling inexplicably curious, Natka turned to the page which held the description of this number to read up on it in detail and see what it said about her life. Natka read this carefully once, and then again, trying to absorb all the information the paragraph was giving her and interpret it correctly. The moment she saw the mention of "accounting", she had the biggest urge to slam the book shut and declare that it was all a big sham. But she forced herself not to do so, but to read on instead. After all, it did not mean that she would become and accountant - book-keeping was an option, too, and that sounded much more appealing. Natka just had to remember that this number had to be viewed alongside all the others for her to be able to see her Life clearly - well, sort of. "What this is telling me is... that as opposed to Dem, for instance, I don't like change. I value security and reliability - which is sort of true, I guess. I mean, I am a rather shy person, most of the time, I think..." Natka trailed off for a moment before continuing. "Systematic work - does that relate to the fact I work hard, academically speaking? And so, does it refer to the fact that I'm in Ravenclaw, or is that unrelated?" Natka asked Professor Shackleton, frowning slightly. "Building and organising - not sure about the building, I'm not entirely sure what it means in this context. But I do see myself as organised, most of the time. And I like the thought of book-keeping or teaching as a form of education - although, would something to do with writing, for instance work at the Daily Prophet, also be fitting for a Number Four, or not? I'd say this makes me... curious as to the way my life will turn out, whether or not it will be organised and based on loyalty and that sort of thing. It could be interesting," Natka summarized her interpretation of her Life Path Number to the professor, before, closing her textbook and looking up to see her teacher's opinion. |
Ah crap! Trixie had been reading out of the wrong book. It was another one she had been given! She raised her hand and then spoke. "Sorry Porfessor! I have writted down the correct one now," she said apologetically. She wrote: ONE (1): Your path will take you down the road to independence, and you'll learn its benefits standing on your own two feet and becoming a strong individual. Once you've honed these traits, you move to the next level - leadership. You're a born leader and your path in life will present you with many opportunities to demonstrate your ability. Your strong pioneering spirit, courage, and determination will serve you well along this road. Career/vocation options include fields where you can use your quick mental agility, such as business, health, government, or even a bookstore. "My Life Path Number was 1," she said. "Hmm...does this mean that in my future I shall be trying to solve my problems by myself. That my career will be that of something I shall stand tall and proud with and something that I get to lead?" she asked curiously. If it was...she liked the sound of that. |
Quote:
September 8, 2054 9/8/2054 9=9 8=8 2+0+5+4=11=1+1=2 9+8+2=19=10=1 1 Okay, number one... Mariel read to herself from the textbook. Your path will take you down the road to independence, and you'll learn its benefits standing on your own two feet and becoming a strong individual. Letting that digest for a moment, the third year began to deconstruct the information. Okay, independent, determination, quick mental agility - duh, I'm a Ravenclaw - those all sound like me... but what does that mean for my future? Mariel pinched the bridge of her nose with her thumb and forefinger while she tried to make sense of those words. She sometimes had a bit of difficulty with the interpretations - or so she thought in her perfectionism - but she was determined to come up with an accurate finding. However, the word independent somewhat bothered her. Yes, she very much acknowledged that the description fit her quite nicely, but in terms of career opportunity, the Quidditch-obsessed girl really wanted to be a professional Quidditch player after she was done with school. And she needed to be a team player to be successful at that, didn't she? It wasn't exactly a one-woman kind of profession. She frowned slightly as she pondered this. Of course, even if she play after school, the young Ravenclaw knew that it wouldn't last too long and would probably need a back-up plan. How long did athletes play professionally? Once they got to be a certain age, they had to stop anyway. Hmm, what else could she possibly do that involved independence, determination, and mental agility? Perhaps she could create and test new spells and potions? Yes, she enjoyed learning new things like that and how much more exciting would it be to be the one to invent them? That kind of thing would definitely require the traits attributed to the number one. Satisfied with her musings for the time being, Mariel sat back in her chair in anticipation of the next part of class. |

Cam focused on his Life Path Number now and opened up his textbook, flipping page after page to see where that section was. Aha! He carefully read the words and used his finger as a guide and then re-read it just in case. Grabbing his quill, he copied down what the textbook had said and then just stared at it. 3. 3. 3. It was the magic number, wasn't it? Quote:
"I think this would mean that I would get a long with people real well," which he did, "and that I might possibly get famous in the future because I would inspire others and a born communicator." Bahahaha, not going to happen. "It would also mean that my career job could possibly deal with something artistic like drawing ooooorr..." He couldn't continue, because well, he couldn't picture himself as an artist. He phailed at drawing and such. |
Frighteningly Accurate FTW. Merlin's pants he'd gotten so behind. Raiden blushed as he wrote out his numbers on his paper. 17 11 2054 1+7 =8 1+1 =2 1+1 =2 8+2+2=12=3 Oh he was a three. He flipped his pages in his textbook and found the right passage, scribbling it down quickly. Quote:
"Mine's actually... really... scarily accurate," he said softly. "It says I'm really positive and enthusiastic, which is true, I think. And it says that I can help others see joy in any situation, which I like a lot because I like making other people smile. And I like having lots of friends too, and this seems to point towards a person who'd have a lot of friends." He poked the paper where he'd written the word 'articulate'. "That one though... might not be very true. I'm not very good at expressing things, and I think I have a set word group that I use more often than other words that I could use..." He looked around the classroom for a second, wondering if he was actually supposed to be saying this aloud or if they were supposed to... write it all down... he settled for both. "I like mine," he added a moment later. "Even if it's not completely right... it's very positive and it makes me happy to think that someday I might fulfill every part of what's described by my life number." |
Shana quickly wrote the numbers on her paper and began to work them out. 27 6 2056 2+7 = 9 6 2+5+6 = 13 = 1+3 = 4 9+6+4= 19 1+9 = 10 1+0 = 1 She then got her textbook and looked for the right page. Quote:

Tiffany rubbed her eyes as she stared at the calculations on the board. It was so confusing! And the fact that she had been daydreaming really didn't help. Pulling a new piece of parchment and a quill out of her bag, she started scribbling down what she though she had to do. 17th October 2057 10/17/2057 1+0=1 1+7=8 2+0+5+7=14 1+4=5 1+8+5=14 1+4=5 Life Path Number= 5 So it was 5, What did that mean? Looking around, Tiffany noticed several students with their books out. Pulling the text book out of her now unusually light bag, she started reading. FIVE (5): You'll have many forks along your path and you'll welcome each change as a new opportunity with unknown results. Travel is well-suited to you. Wow, that does not sound like me Tiffany thought to herself. She wanted to work with animals. Maybe she could be a Care of Magical Creatures teacher? She loved Dragons! A Dragon Healer? Jumping at the sound of someone laughing, Tiffany realised she was daydreaming again. She really needed to stop that. Raising her hand nervously, she waited for the teacher to check her work. |
Quote:
There was one part of the passage that confused her,"once you've learned this lesson, you'll move on to the next phase". What did that mean? Shaunee raised her hand to see if the teacher could shed any light on it. What was the next phase? Did it mean the next phase of life or something completly different. |
Iris looked down at her parchment, double checking what she had written 12th February 2058 2058 = 2 + 0 + 5 + 8 = 15 1 + 5 = 6 1 + 2 = 3 2 + 0 = 2 Iris had gotten this much down, then got rather stuck... "gosh, now what, I can't remember what to do next." she thought. Iris began to get a little frustrated, she hated maths - never could figure it out. "Um, Professor." She said, raising her hand, "I don't understand what to do next." she said, hoping she would just come over to help. Iris then looked back to her work and tried to make heads or tails of it whilst waiting for the Professor Shackleton to come over. 12th February 2058 2058 = 2 + 0 + 5 + 8 = 15 -> 1 + 5 = 6 1 + 2 = 3 2 + 0 = 2 --- 6 + 3 + 2 = 11 -> 1 + 1 = 2 Iris smiled to herself, she had gotten through it herself, hopefully getting it right. "Now when the professor comes over, all I have to do is tell her that i think i figured it out, she'll check it and ta da! " she thought to herself. Iris then looked over to Aaron, who was sat a few seats away, and gave him a wide eyed smile that clearly said, "gosh this class is difficult." |
Jack looked at his piece of parchment and wondered if he had done it right: 10/02/2057 1+0=1 0+2=2 2+0+5+7=14 1+4=5 1+2+5=7 Hoping that he had done it right, he raised his hand and waited for the professor to check it. |

She stopped to think. "That means I could be anything from writter to research doctor, to scientific investigator to philosopher and everything in between. None of these matters and paths really end for one, which means I could be stuck in phase one for ever... Nothing I would like more than an eternal quest for wisdom, a philsopher maybe." She chuckled. "But I do wonder, do I have such little social skills?" There were various interpretations in other books but they all said the same: "Chances are you are a very charming and refined individual with great poise and a quick wit. Nonetheless, there is an exclusiveness about you. You probably aren't a very social person." The other textbook's description, she liked better. Possibly, it was truer for her that she "guard your connection to people carefully. It's easy for you to detect deception and recognize insincere people, and you avoid them." or that she is "intellectual, scientific, and studious, you don't accept a premise until you have dissected the subject and arrived at your own independent conclusion", it sounded a lot more flattering. |

"um...yes professor. i have 11 as my number and i looked up into the book and it says we have to look into 11/2. i wanted to know why do we take 2 and not add 1+1?" asked isabella Isabella flipped the page where the numbers and their meanings were discussed. she liked this whole concept of knowing who you are and who you will be by just reading the numbers and calculating them. but she didnt know whether all this can really be true. she got down to reading the description for 11/2: ELEVEN (11/2): Much is expected of you with this Master Life Path. Your path will lead you to illuminate humankind inspirationallly. Sometimes you will work at the level of the 2 to bring toward you meaningful associations so that others will find you accessible. Once you've mastered your lessons, you'll move on to the next phase - becoming an inpirational leader. "what does level 2 mean?" "maybe life path number two," she thought and flipped back the page to read about number 2 and then got back on reading number 11/2. well it did make sense, but how much of it was describing what she was? she thought "ok...lets see spotlight and center of attention?" she thought,"i dont know" she said to herself shaking her head. she gulped when she read the line "charismatic, magnetic and electric leader" "and ...what!...an inspirational leader" "bloody hell, what is that supposed to mean?am i going to be a saint!" it struck her she shook her head once again. "i dont know where is this leading to. ok fine lets look for something else and analyze," "ok career...teacher, speaker or diplomat..." "hm...i would like to work for magical law and enforcement...so does that mean it might be related to speaker or diplomat?" Bella's mum was in that department and she always would talk about the magical law and enforcement and hence it had captured Bella's attention. Bella hesitated for sometime but raised her hand "um excuse professor? what does inspirational leader mean?is it has got nothing to do with being a saint, right?" she asked. she knew she would be hearing some sniggering behind her back. "and will work at department of law and enforcement or in the ministry by any chance mean being a speaker or a diplomat?" she asked |

Lyra wrote down her own life path number March 9, 2057 3-9-2057 so. 3=3 9=9 2+0+5+7= 14 - 1+4=5 3+9+5= 17 - 1+7= 8 so she was a 8? Lyra quickly looked up in the text book. Your path will lead you to work out the difference between money and the real value of life. You must learn what to do with your natural power and authority, but this is not an easy path. Once you've learned this lesson, you'll move on to the next phase - being in charge. You're a born boss and your natural power and authority cause others to look to you when a decision needs to be made. The reward or you won't necessarily be financial but may come in terms of accomplishment and legacy. Career/vocation options include any field where you can be in charge and where you can utilize your superior skill of good judgment. Lyra looked at the book, she liked the idea of being the in charge , find out the difference between money and real value in life? maybe she was going to work at Gringrotts , or perhaps working at the Ministry or being a division head there? Lyra raised up her hand hoping the teacher could explain further. She also took a quick glance at Sydney's paper and saw she was a 8 too and smiled at her "master minds" she giggled. |
Kevin raised his hand and said "Professor i am trying to get my life points in order but i just can't seem to figure out how to do it" |
I can't do this. thought Becca but seconds later contradicted herself, having had a sudden jump in her memory. Quickly, Becca jotted her numbers down into her notebook. Maybe she did have the hang of math.: 4/20/2056 4=4 2+0=2 2+0+5+6=13 1+3=4 4+4+2= 10 1+0=1 Final Answer: 1 Well, now to find out what my Life Path is. Digging into her book she found it and began to read: ONE (1): Your path will take you down the road to independence, and you'll learn its benefits standing on your own two feet and becoming a strong individual. Becca thought that she had done it right but just to be sure, raised her hand and askedUm... Professor, did I do this correctly? I never really was a genius when it came to math... Oh wait! I think I got it! Nevermind, Professor. Now to access. Becca thought and began to write; Assesment- Does it apply to my life? Yes How? I tend to be the one to go to when problems arise in my family and I solve them quickly and logically. I also like being looked up to by others. ( And I like to read ) Is it accurate? So far it is. What could this information mean for me? I am not quite sure but I was thinking of becoming an auror or something of the sort when I am older and I believe that a strong pioneering spirit, courage, and determination could help me in that field of work. |

Cy was dying, dying of boredom as he sat in Arithmancy. He hated math in muggle school, and apparently this was like the Wizard version of it. BOOORRRIIINNNGG. The Hufflepuff took his queue to find his ‘life path number’, so he got out some parchment. He began to scribble down all his math, which turned out to be pretty easy. He did get rather distracted in-between steps though, writing off certain reminders. Quote:
His brown eyes ran over the page alarmingly fast, reading these words; EIGHT (8): Your path will lead you to work out the difference between money and the real value of life. Career/vocation options include any field where you can be in charge and where you can utilize your superior skill of good judgment. He laughed mischievously and jumped up from his seat abruptly, waving his parchment in the air. Cy suddenly didn't hate Arithmancy anymore... BASICALLY, all of this meant he was going to rule the world; as he had planned. The stars were lining up, it was obviously he was going to be the best of the best. As he was stood up, he pounded his chest roughly with his right fist. “I got numbah' eight!” The Aussie exclaimed, a wry grin across his face. “So Professah, you want my autograph now, or latah’?” He was going to rule the world one day, according to his number. So apparently, his autograph would be worth a lot one day. His cockiness might seen unsettling to some, but to Cy, it was real. |
Naomi looked at Professor Shackleton and then down to her paper. She began to scribble numbers down on her paper. 2+5=7 2+5+5=12 1+2=3 3+7+1=11 1+1=2 Life Path Number=2 "That looks right." Naomi said. "Ok now what does it mean?" Naomi flipped through her book and found the definition of her life path number. Quote:
"I don't see how this is like me at all." Naomi said disappointed. "Oh well" |

Ivy took a deep breath and looked around her, it seemed like most everyone had caught on to this subject without much of an issue. she looked back at her parchment and read: 5+7+(2+0+5+7)= 5+7+(2+5+7)= 5+7+(14) 5+7+(1+4) 5+7+5=14 1+4 5 "All right, " Ivy muttered, "I'm a five for my life path." She flipped in the text to the attributes of a 5 for a life path number and read: ...You'll have many forks along your path and you'll welcome each change as a new opportunity with unknown results. Change is key and once you've learned this lesson, you'll move on to the next phase - championing freedom. Career/vocation options include working with the public, advertising, publicity, or sales - any kind of work that calls for energizing power rather than routine. Travel is well-suited to you.... She raised her hand politely and said, "Professor I think that most of the traits for five are spot on, I have always loved to travel, but I cannot imagine myself ever working with the public or in sales, to be honest I feel that I am a bit too introverted for those things. This number does make me a touch nervous," Ivy admitted, "I do feel as though I have a great deal of potential to live up to based on what it says. Perhaps I should make an effort to be more outgoing?" |

But true it certainly was, at least the part where it said that she analysed everything. And she had always wanted to be in the detection and investigative services. Of course, she still wasn't sure about the metaphysical part, but this was only a generalisation. Raising her hand, she said aloud,"Professor, if our Date of birth corresponds so closely to our identity, why is it that people born on the same day are sometimes so different from one another? Sometimes, I've seen even paternal(non-identical) twins being quite different from one another. But they do have the same birth date. But, if the life paths are to be believed, everyone born on the same day as I should be somewhat similar to me in nature, shouldn't they?" |
Herminny was turning red as she read all the things of her number and how painfully off they were and felt to embarraced to even sayher number to the class so she wrote everything on her mind about ther number on her parchment and then folded it up and took out her wand and charmed the note to fly like a paper airplane into the teachers hands hoping she did'nt mind too much cause it was the only way she could think of to do the assignment the teacher asked under the current cricumstances Herminny Telerino Professor I am sending you my findingd on my life path number case I find my number quite embarassing and it does not reflect me st sll and I'm afraid if anyone here takes Arithmancy to heart and found out my number I would want to crawl into a hole and die. That said I'll start by stating my number is 7. That number basically states the the person is samrt and questions everything cause they want to know how everything works and are always skeptical and analyze everything and are reclusive and self obsessed. This is not me, in fact it's quite the opposite of me. I don't question everything, I have been Christian my whole life and I truly believe that God exists and is watching over me even though that can never be proven and I often take things at face value until I am proven otherwise. And about the reclisive factor, I really don't like to be alone, I love spending time with freinds. The last part is what infurriates me the most saying a person of 7 life path number is self obsessed, I actually often care about others to the point that if I see something unfair going on amd I do nothing about it I feel sick to my stomach. The careers good for 7 would be magical law enforcement and teaching because teaching allows a person to always be digging deeper and analyzing a subject for there personal satisfaction and magical law enforcement alows the person to dig deeper and discover the truth in a case. To be honest I would not mind either of these professions but I would go for them for a totally different reason doing the exact same thing except I would do it to help others and not cause I just must figure out the the problem cause thats my life. |

Melanie watched the other students calculate their numbers curiously before deciding she'd best get to work on her own. The second year tugged a sheet of parchment out of her bag as well as her favorite color changing pen. She'd never quite gotten used to quills, she just ended up dropping ink all over her paper. After she had everything set out she reluctantly got to work. Math never had been her strong point, but this should be simple enough. It was after all only addition. Quote:
So she leaned down and pulled the heavy book from her bag resting on the ground, letting out a little huff as she plopped it loudly down onto the wooden surface of her desk and then flipped it open. Luckily enough, she flipped to the correct page: Quote:
Making her decision Melanie spoke up. "Professor Shackleton." Melanie called out, raising her hand into the air. "I'm not sure I did the right math....I think I did something wrong." she informed her solemnly, frowning. |

Does the description apply to you? Not all of it, although some of it sounds like me. I think the other qualities will show through later in my life, as I am still a first year. How? It talks about change being a key thing in my life. That is very true for me, as i had to accept the fact that i was different from my muggle friends, and I had to start a whole new school, and learn different things. It also states that i could work with the public, and do advertising. I could say that is true because I have thought about becoming a Journalist. I also travel quite alot, My father and I have lived in many different countries, which explains the sentence- "Travel is well-suited to you." Accurate OR completely off the mark? I'd say in between. Most of it is accurate. How does it make you feel? Very optimistic. It reassures me that i can be successful one day. Tiffany put down her quill feeling quite proud of the work she had done today. Arithmancy was turning out to be quite a good lesson after all. She eyed the peacefull classroom. Maybe it was because nobody had fainted this time. |

After giving the students more than enough time to determine and analyze their Life Path numbers, Professor Shackleton addressed the class, "For those of you with questions about the meaning of your Life Paths, I'm going to refrain from answering them. The reality of the situation is that I could only give my best guess about what it means because it is about you and you know yourself better than I ever could. However, if you feel like you need another point of view to help you look at the information from another angle, you are more than welcome to stop by my office at any time and we can discuss." Professor Shackleton inspected the end of a lock of hair before continuing, "I think we've covered enough for this lesson, so we're going to stop here. Homework will be due in one week and your assignment," Macadrian paused to put the homework on the board before finishing, "is now posted. Thank you to Ms. Morgan for volunteering to be a part of our homework. Best of luck to you all. Oh, and nice work today. Many of you have earned some points for your houses, so keep up the good work." Quote:

Neatly writing down the homework, Jake quickly packed up his stuff and high-tailed it out of the classroom. He did NOT want to stay in the same room as his head of house for very long. Nope, not at all. |
Ivy copied the homework down in her immaculate script and gathered her belongings, stowing them in her bag. |
Iris quickly joted down the homework on a blank piece of parchment, her handwriting slowly becoming more and more illegiable, before putting everything away in her bag. |
Trixie scribbled down the homework then stuffed everything into her bag. She then baid the professor goodbye and left the classroom. |
