"Because it's second letter is also not 'L'," Varius tried... after raising his hand of course!

Cela raised her hand, still staring at the Auroch. "Uruz means Auroch. Uruz is the symbol of strength, determination and endurance. Like being as stubborn as a bull and all that."
"Yes, just like Fehu meant cattle." She said nodding

"Very good Master Kettleburn, take two points for Ravenclaw!" Being correct twice in a row was impressive in her classes. She turned to the rest of the class trying to do her best not to laugh at Tipps... She conjured an image out of thin air and continued.

"See how the Aurochs look like the rune?" and with the wand drew the rune in red. What are the other meanings of Uruz, one per student please..." She asked sweetly.

Crayola 06-27-2009 02:43 AM

Runes were good. Aurochs were plain scary. They didnt look alike AT ALL! Still, Evangeline raised her hand, glad that at least the pillow was warm. "Uruz can mean fertility for women, Miss."

Waterloo 06-27-2009 02:43 AM

... was Plymouth snuggling up to him? That was slightly.. freaky and - oh.. Plymouth's hair smelled kind of nice.

Odd..

Head tilting to one side, Clifford put his arm in the air.

"I think it means.. MANHOOD!"
Grinning, the Head Boy gave his raised arm a flex. Muscles! "And being all... RAWR!"

Like he totally was.

TeafortheSoul 06-27-2009 02:45 AM

"Endurance." Celandine repeated, hand raised.

Cassirin 06-27-2009 02:47 AM

Copernicus raised his hand as well. "Uruz can mean mental strength too, not just physical."

Mrs. Weasley 06-27-2009 02:49 AM

Abby raises her hand. "It also means danger."

Rosa Chispa Princessa 06-27-2009 02:53 AM

herminny raised her hand and said, "I believe Uruz means strength of mind or body".

Anna Banana 06-27-2009 02:59 AM

Raising her hand, Anna said, "Uruz can also mean speed." She didn't think anyone else had mentioned speed yet. Or, well, at least she didn't hope they had.

Plymouth raised his hand after Clifford's manly display of Uruz. "I think it means Clifford Carden, Professor... s. Head Boy.. errr Man." And because Plymouth could - and to make Professor V proud - he flexed behind Clifford.

This was the man section of class. Obviously.

Meh, Jake had been pretty quiet since Professor Morgan showed up. He glared at his toes, VOWING to keep those two... women seperate from each other. Professor Morgan was giving HIM attention, right? NOBODY else.

So he wished.

Meh well, got to answer at some point, right? He raised his hand. "Wicked awesome?" Jake suggested, tilting his head.

PadfootAndTheWolf 06-27-2009 04:52 AM

"Professor, isnt the ancient meaning for Uruz the force behind Creation?" he said raising his hand.

Lezleighd 06-27-2009 04:54 AM

"My grandma used to tell me that it had a variety of meanings, including power..." she said after raising her hand...she thought that was all her grandma had said...

Wenzlebug 06-27-2009 07:12 AM

Cedric raised his hand,"Professor,Does Uruz can be inferred as special abilities."He paused,"yah know like tenacity, that's special prof."

"Sort of Prefect Green, it's more femininity, than fertility... but they are connected." She nodded.

She giggled at the head boy. "Yes... very... RAWR..." she winked at him and moved to the next student.

She blinked, then laughed. "I'll take that to mean virility. Prefect Carden, it seems Master Morgan has a new role model. I hope you're up to the task."

"Hmmm Uruz IS wicked awesome... however it doesn't really mean wicked awesome..." she said looking at the boy's face. Did he not like her? Impossible... this was all in her head, all students liked her!

"Yes, Miss Carrington," then turned to the class and said "let's see what's missing... Health, courage, energy, action, good changes, growth and transformation. Alright class... Merkstave meanings. ONE PER STUDENT please,"

ooc: I will deduct a point for each additional meaning.

PadfootAndTheWolf 06-27-2009 05:08 PM

Chris Potter raised his hand. "Well Professor one merstave meaning for the rune Uruz would be having your strength used against you." he said cheerily. I love this class' He thought to himself. He loved to use his own rune set to give people readings all the time.

RachieRu 06-27-2009 05:14 PM

Vanessa thought for a moment before raising her hand. "Could it mean Ignorance?"

Mrs. Weasley 06-27-2009 05:22 PM

Abby raises her hand. "One of Uruz's merkstave meanings is obsession." Abby is amazed at how many merkstave meansings Uruz has.

Anna Banana 06-27-2009 05:26 PM

Raising her hand, Anna added, "One of the meanings for the Merkstave is 'dominated by others'." Yikes. That didn't sound too fun.

harrys_other_broom 06-27-2009 05:52 PM

Naomi raised her hand. "Could it also mean untamed potential?"

Rosa Chispa Princessa 06-27-2009 05:57 PM

Herminny raised her hand and said, "I believe one mershave meaning of uruz is to become completely overwhelmed because one is weak".

Cassirin 06-27-2009 06:02 PM

Copernicus raised his hand. "Professor, I believe a Merkstave meaning for Uruz is the failure to think clearly."

Waterloo 06-27-2009 06:21 PM

Plymouth was a strange one.. especially if like Professor Lupa said he's chosen CLIFFORD CARDEN to be his role model. Ah well, it was his problem. Hehe.

Once again, the Head Boy raised his hand. "What about sickness?"

Yusrieee 06-27-2009 06:25 PM

Sydney smiled and raised her hand, "Professor, One of Merkstave meaning for Uruz is Inconsistency." The class was turning out to be good so far.
