AR / CoMC - Lesson 2 : Uruz / Aurochs

Merlin's Back Yard! How was she going to conduct a class on the grounds, and near the paddock... the smell of animals was nauseating. It was rather funny... well maybe just ironic, that Alessia didn't like animals... considering.

She conjured pillows on the floor for each student to sit on. She hoped this was going to be a good class... though if an arachnid of any kind pops up, she would screaaaaam and blast it away!

She waited for everyone to come and sit.

PadfootAndTheWolf 06-26-2009 06:09 AM

Chris Potter walked down to the grounds for their second Ancient Runes class. He smiled at Professor Lupa and greeted her, "Great day, isn't it Professor?" and he took a seat on a nearby pillow.

Angie 06-26-2009 06:15 AM

Ancient Runes on the grounds.

On the GROUNDS.

Good Merlin, what has the world come to?

"Hello, Professor Lupa," Greeted Willow, taking seat in one of the pillows, and settling her messenger bag on her lap, "I trust you are doing alright?" Clearly not. She was having a lesson at the grounds, close to all the animals and dangerous creatures and insects.

Ew.

Cassirin 06-26-2009 06:15 AM

"Hello, Professor," Copernicus greeted the professor before seating himself on the ground. He wasn't really keen on sitting on the ground, but at least there was a pillow. Some small buffer between himself and the dirt.

Anna Banana 06-26-2009 06:19 AM

For the first time ever, Anna headed out onto the grounds of Hogwarts for Ancient Runes class. This should be fun! Not only would the students get to learn about runes, but they'd also get to sit outside and get some fresh air while doing do. Reaching the mock-classroom setting out near the paddocks, Anna smiled at her professor and stopped briefly just in front of her. "Good day, Professor Lupa. I hope you're doing well," she said. She then headed over to a nice, plush-looking pillow near the middle of the area. She cracked her textbook open and reread a little information about Fehu while she waited for the lesson to begin.

Yusrieee 06-26-2009 06:20 AM

Ancient Runes....
The last lesson didn't go well for Sydney but hoping to perform better this time, Sydney entered the class room & breathe deeply. "Hmm, here I am..again" She muttered, glancing around. "Good day, Professor Lupa." She said with a smile, dropped her bag on the ground & sat down. Sydney shuffled through her bag & took out her textbook, quill & parchments.

TeafortheSoul 06-26-2009 06:22 AM

See Celandine Toussaint had no problem with dirt but she didn't particularly want to get covered in it today. Dirt had its time and its place. So before she sat down she cast a few charms on herself so she wouldn't pick up dust and dirt or whatever.

"Hello Professor Lupa!"

Time to distract herself from angst and drama with the fun of learning. YAY.

Rosa Chispa Princessa 06-26-2009 06:42 AM

Herminny headed for Ancient Runes class out side and could instantly tell that nature was so not the professors forte. She wondered why was outside in the first place, the flodding had not reached the 5th floor had it, no it could'nt have, at least she hoped not. As she walked a lttle further into the classroom she noticed there were pillows for her and her classmates to sit on and chose a pillow and took her seat and waited for outdoor Ancient Runes class 2 to start.

Wenzlebug 06-26-2009 06:52 AM

Cedric rushed into their Ancient runes class. Then he noticed that there's
already other students. He also noticed that Professor Lupa was there also.He thought that they will goin to start class just a few minutes.

"Hello Professor Lupa."He says with a big smile.

Antarctica 06-26-2009 08:37 AM

Kiri was clothed in more layers than the average Siberian, but she was still cold. Care of Magical Creatures outside was bad enough already, but now it was Ancient Runes, too? She was carrying around a jar of Bluebell Flames, but she'd either not done the charm correctly, or it was really that cold, because it didn't help much.
Shivering slightly, she sat down on one of the pillows, slinging her arms around herself for warmth.

nimbus1991 06-26-2009 08:56 AM

Lucas walked into the grounds to attend the ancient runes class in the grounds and ON the grounds too. Well this surely is odd. He thought to himself as he made his way to the class. He could see the pillows placed there from quite a distance. He greeted Professor Lupa when he reaced there.

"Hello Professor." He said and went to sit down on one of the pillows.

Waterloo 06-26-2009 10:44 AM

Whoa. Now this was weird. Ancient Runes out on the grounds? What was with that? The Ancient Runes classroom hadn't flooded had it? Hmm. "Hey, Professor Lupa," Clifford greeted shyly. Yes, she still made him nervous. Who could blame him? "Are we going to be looking for runes today?" Was that why they were outside?

Daemon 06-26-2009 11:18 AM

OK, so having Ancient Runes where Care of Magical Creatures was supposed to be was proving to be a slightly weird experience. As Rachel stepped into the... er, classroom? - more like a gathering between students and a teacher with logs - exactly like CoMC, she couldn't help but blink a few times in attempt to get used to the bizarre sight before her.

"Hello, Professor," the fifth year greeted the professor with a smile as she continued to eye the class. It was just WRONG - like, her eyes wouldn't get used to it... Sort of like a misspelled word - wrong. Taking a seat, if you could call it that, Rachel automatically reached into her bag and pulled out -surprisingly- her copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Right... Sighing, she put it back in and took out her Ancient Runes book, closing up her bag and twiddling her thumbs absentmindedly as her attention was drawn to a rather odd-looking bird in the trees.

Felixir 06-26-2009 11:28 AM

This was not how things were supposed to be. Got that? It just didn't happen like this. Ancient Runes were NOT meant to be out here, and that was that.

But Jake ended up being forced persuaded to go... and he cast a wary eye at Professor Lupa before sitting down and hugging his knees.

Scary lady...

Hermione345 06-26-2009 11:53 AM

Linda hurried to the classroom.Wait a minute..it was not a classroom. It was outside. She was astonished.'Hello professor' she greeted the professor

Lezleighd 06-26-2009 01:50 PM

Normally Satine would be excited about having a class outside, but it was December and she had layered on a million and one layers to help her get through this. She knew there were plenty of spells that would help but she still never felt warm enough in the cold without layer upon layer...she didn't looking like snowman or anything but she did have about four layers of clothes on. She waited patiently for the class to began sitting on her purple pillow.

bone_baud10 06-26-2009 02:03 PM

Thomas walked towards the area that the class will be in. It was located outside of the school and it was freezing outside. "Good Mornin professor," said Thomas to the teacher. He picked a random pillow and sat on it.

Droo 06-26-2009 02:59 PM

As the children sat on the pillows, their bums were immediately warmed, as were the rest of their bodies.

"Miss Kovak," she said nodding to the girl, "don't look so grossed out. If I can have this class here, so can you." She said.

"Hello little Miss Toussaint..." but something was odd about the girl... not as cheery as usual. Alessia reached in her pocket and handed Cela what was there... her last peppermint frog. Sometimes students needed them more than she... and she wasn't talking about her breath!

As Rachel gazed up at the bird, she faintly heard the Professor greet the other students, and snapped her attention back at the woman the moment she realised that she was addressing her. Stop being so what? Rachel wondered, although her quick brain soon figured it out by the expression that Willow had on her face - it was similar to hers...

Oh my dear Merlin!! The fifth year's eyes widened in surprise as something - which she distinctly saw come out of the bird's rear end - land on Professor Lupa. Trying VERY hard to conceal her giggle, Rachel busied herself with writing 'Ancient Runes' very slowly on her parchment, allowing her fit of amusement to pass.

Ahh - it was gone. And so was the bird poop apparently... "Professor, the second rune is Urus," she said, trying not to look at the teacher too closely for fear of another fit of giggles.

Waterloo 06-26-2009 03:36 PM

Had he given away the class? He'd only taken a guess! How was he meant to kn - OOOH! "That's Uruz, right?" Clifford tried, hand held high in the ai as he wiggled his bottom further into the warm pillow.

As Jake sat down, the warmth in the cushion startled him, deciding to be insolent use his initiative, Jake pulled the cushion away and planted his butt on the cold floor.

But still, he raised his hand, for some strange reason. "It's thuuhhhhhhh... U... ooooohr-... ooh-ruuuzz... erm..." Jake trailed off, squinting one eye. "What they said."

MarcyMoo 06-26-2009 05:38 PM

Lucy stared at the rune and flipped through her textbook, trying to find the same rune. She found it and raised her hand. "Is it Uruz professor?" She asked unsure of her answer.

fredsgirl81293 06-26-2009 05:54 PM

Demetria raised her hand. "It's the Uruz, right?" Merlin, she hoped she was right.

Liisa 06-26-2009 06:10 PM

Making her way into the paddock, Professor Morgan was pulling behind her a large, mighty-looking creature. "Professor Lupa, are you ready for us?" She asked, closing the gate behind her.

Droo 06-26-2009 06:18 PM

"Yes... Uruz, you are all correct!" But her eyes fell on the large majestic and fairly scary creature. "Yes Professor Morgan... Please..." She turned to the students and said "This is your suprize. You are in a joint Runes and Creatures class." She jumped up and down and clapped.

MarcyMoo 06-26-2009 06:20 PM

Lucy turned to see Professor Morgan enter the classroom and waved at her. Then she saw what was behind Morgan and Lucy's green eyes widened. 'What.Is.THAT!' She stared at awe towards the magnificent looking creature. Lucy wanted to get out of her seat and go examine it, but she kept her butt firmly glued to her seat, not wanting to lose points for her house. She turned towards Professor Lupa and smiled. A combined class, that would be fun.

PadfootAndTheWolf 06-26-2009 06:23 PM

Chris turned when he saw Professor morgan. He smiled at her then saw the animal she was carrying behind her. "Wow, what is that?"

Mugglemad 06-26-2009 06:25 PM

Victoria stared at the creature, it was so beautiful. Wow a ancient runes and a care of magical creatures lesson together.

Golden Monkey 06-26-2009 06:26 PM

William, who had been too cozy to even answer the question looked up as the gate opened, his eyes widening as he saw professor Morgan enter with a creature. He had never seen anything like it before and his curiosity was peaked. Nodding his head in her direction, along with a smile he turned back to professor Lupa, a grin forming on his face as she mentioned a joint class. How cool was this?!? Sitting up straighter he paid more attention than before wondering what kind of class they'd be having.

Rosa Chispa Princessa 06-26-2009 06:27 PM

Herminny's eyes widened as she saw this huge creature being led out by Professor Morgan. A COMC and Ancient Runes class together, this was epic.

Anna Banana 06-26-2009 06:31 PM

Anna started to raise her hand and state that Uruz was the second rune of the Elder Futhark, but she stopped when she noticed Professor Morgan making her way into the paddock. Anna's eyes first widened, then narrowed in confusion, as she took in the sight of the large...very large...animal the professor was pulling. Whoa. That was seriously massive creature! Anna's eyes flickered from Professor Morgan to Professor Lupa, then back to the animal.

Well, one thing was for sure. This was going to be an interesting lesson indeed. It'd be fun to see how Uruz tied into this massive beast being towed in.

Lislchen 06-26-2009 06:31 PM

Nancy's head jerked around at the sound of Professor Morgan's familiar cheerful voice, and her blue eyes moved from what they had just been intently staring at - which was a small lonely brownish colored leaf which had somehow managed to still stay on a nearby tree - to be able to get a glance of what exactly it was Professor Morgan was pulling along behind her.

Well, in the end she got more than just a glance of the thing actually. It was huge. And looked quite creepy to be honest. And strong. And...eep! What the heck was that thing?! Blinking a few times in utter surprise Nancy automatically repeated what somebody else had already asked, "What is that?! Is it...uhm...dangerous?!" It certainly looked like it was.

Lezleighd 06-26-2009 06:32 PM

Satine was so excited about a joint class....mainly because she loved CoMC...and having that mixed with runes would make runes way more fun...she couldn't wait to see what the class held.

bone_baud10 06-26-2009 06:33 PM

Thomas was kind of shocked he had no idea that this is going to happen. He looked at the creature and it looked quite harmless.

Torchwood 06-26-2009 06:47 PM

Jack looked up as the animal was lead in. His first reaction was it was some sort of cow. What on earth did it have to do with Ancient Runes?

Liisa 06-26-2009 07:04 PM

The professor led the ginormous creature around the outer edge of the paddock, (ensuring a safe distance from the students) stopping just a few feet to the right of Professor Lupa. She smiled at the students' welcoming faces and patted the creature's furry back. "Hello class! Professor Lupa was kind enough to ask me to join you here today." She smiled, giving Less a playful wink. "Thank you Professor." She was elated to be able to conduct a joint class with her best friend. What could be more fun than that?

"Alright class, today we are going to teach you a bit about Aurochs. These very strong and powerful creatures have been around for many MANY years. First discovered in India some two million years ago, aurochs migrated into the Middle East and further into Asia, reaching Europe about 250,000 years ago. Can anyone guess why Muggles believe them to be extinct?"

Lezleighd 06-26-2009 07:09 PM

Satine thought for a moment about stories her dad and his family had told her and then it hit her, and she raised her hand, "Professor, didn't muggles hunt them into extinction?"

Golden Monkey 06-26-2009 07:11 PM

William eyed the creature in wonder. He had heard stories, mainly from his muggle friends of which he only had two so he decided to raise his hand. "Well Professor Morgan, they're kind of big and scary looking,. Many people would think them scary, when they're not in my opinion. They have thick hides which were mainly used as blankets to keep the muggles warm. They were considered a challenging quarry animal." he replied smiling.

PadfootAndTheWolf 06-26-2009 07:12 PM

"Professor dont the muggles believe they were hunted to extention?" he asked raising his hand

bone_baud10 06-26-2009 07:13 PM

Thomas raised his hand and said," Maybe the Muggles think that this creature is extinct because in the past the Aurochs looked different and today they get confused and think this is a cattle." He hoped that his answer was right.

Lislchen 06-26-2009 07:16 PM

Aurochs?! Well, it did not make it any less scary looking now that Nancy knew the creature's name. At least Professor Morgan kept the thing at a rather safe distance from them. So, Muggles thought them to be extinct? Lucky them. Somehow. "Uhm...perhaps the Muggles hunted those Aurochs for, well whatever reason, their fur maybe? And well now the few remaining of those creatures have fled to some place far from the Muggles' reach."

Anna Banana 06-26-2009 07:20 PM

Raising her hand, Anna said, "Long ago, back when aurochs roamed the Earth, hunting was limited to only those of a very important status. I guess...say...royal people, maybe? Anyway, muggles called gamekeepers kept fields for the aurochs to graze in, and at one point, these gamekeepers reported that there was only thirty-eight aurochs left," she said, shaking her head at the fact the animals had been hunted so often. "I guess it was pretty easy for them to keep an eye on only thirty-eight aurochs. Since there was such a small number of them left, the gamekeepers were able to easily figure out that the last of the aurochs died in the year 1627." Geez. That was long ago. Ancient, even.

Daemon 06-26-2009 07:23 PM

Merlin, is that an Auroch?! Wow.... It's HUGE!

Rachel's gaze remained on the animal as it entered the paddock, leaded in by Professor Morgan - the CoMC teacher. Well, looks like my subconsciousness was right... Grinning, she reached into her bag to pull out the CoMC textbook and quickly added the subject to the title too.

"Professor, muggles believe that the Aurochs were hunted to extinction as well as them having food shortage due to the introduction of their domesticated form which was so different that it is now considered a complete different species I think," the fifth year answered with her hand raised. This lesson was going to be fun - Care of Magical Creatures AND Ancient Runes? It was going to be a blast!

Herminny raised her hand and said, "I believe muggles believe they hunted Aurochs to extinction."

Linda raised her hand and said.'Even I think so,professor. As the early man became more civilised,I guess they started hunting for aurochs for food and their skin.I think they became extinct in britain, during the bronze age. They were independently domesticated in North America and India.I think,as they began to disappear, they believed that they were extinct

She smiled, giving Less a playful wink.

Copernicus shook his head at his classmates. Obviously the Muggles did not hunt them into extinction if there was an auroch right here in class. He raised his hand. "Professor, can we assume that the sheer mass of an Auroch makes them impossible to miss aside from magical means, so that once the captive population the Muggles knew of dwindled, they believed all of them had died off? Plus, Muggles have a habit of destroying native habitats, and they would have recognized they'd done that in this situation."

Waterloo 06-26-2009 07:55 PM

This was weird. Care of Magical Creatures AND Ancient Runes? HJeez he got confused enough trying to learn them seperately. This was going to be tough. Eh. Clifford would've pouted unhappily if that creature Professor Morgan pulled in hadn't been so FREAKIN' AWESOME!

Mad Eye Touz 06-26-2009 08:09 PM

Plymouth Morgan was about to wet himself. That... was a beast. That could eat his head as an appetizer!!!

HORROR.

But Plymouth knew the answer to this question so he threw a hand up, "B-because - Muggles are sometimes smarter than us. They just do the smart thing and BLOCK out the big scary stuff. Muggles have awesome oblivious capabilities. It's too... much... for muggles to see. So they don't see it. Bless them." And Plymouth was currently wishing he was one of them. He scooted his pillow over next to Clifford Head Boy Carden. You know, for manly moral support.

Mrs. Weasley 06-26-2009 08:17 PM

Abby raises her hand. "Muggle records show as the Auroch population declined, restriction were place who could kill them. By the 13th century, hunting them was restricted to the nobility and the royal households. In 1564 the records show only 38 known Aurochs. By 1627 the last know auroch a female died in the Jaktorow Forest in Poland. Wizards must have seen the decline in the Auroch population and decided to save them. By the 13th century muggles had restricted the Aurochs to Poland, Luthuania, Moldavia, Transylvania, and Eastern Prussia. I would imagine wizards set up Auroch reserves like they have done with dragons, and used the disillusionment charm to hide then from the muggle population. At the same time wizards must have restricted the amount of Auroch available to the muggles. The muggles continued to poach the Aurochs. The wizards saw the muggles were not going to allow the Auroch to live in peace, so they continued to make it appear the Auroch population was declining until the last Auroch in muggle possession died."

Leeness 06-26-2009 08:22 PM

Varius had raised his hand to answer that second letter question but retreated it when the Professor made it clear it wasn't L. He really needed to speak to her about her screwed up alphabet - what was her mother feeding her when she grew up stupid-alphabet-soup? HMMMM!?

Then the COMC professor brought out some beast thing. Very scary indeed, but it looked like the sort of thing Varius would enjoy to be on his table for christmas dinner. NOMNOMNOMNOM. "Eh," he said raising his hand, "Because Muggles are stupid like that?"

Droo 06-26-2009 09:23 PM

"Master Tipps!" She said glaring at the boy. "That is not the case! and Miss Wright, really, I am glad you have read books on them, but if the last auroch died in the 1600... then what is Thor..." Had Iliana introduced the Auroch? "This auroch, doing here centuries later? Anyone else care to venture more guesses?"

Cassirin 06-26-2009 09:36 PM

Well, really. Was his answer totally wrong? Huh.

Cope raised his hand again. "Maybe the Muggles believe they are extinct because we want them to."

Crayola 06-26-2009 09:38 PM

What was that thingy doing there? Evangeline frowned. That was a good question. It was there to feed on them, most likely. Honestly, that thing was just scary and Evangeline felt herself unconsciously pushing her pillow further away from it. "Hmmm. Maybe Muggles got it wrong? And they weren't hunted until they got extinct?" Evangeline attempted raising her hand. Yeah, and maybe there was some kind of Auroch's Resort in the Caribbean ... or whatever.

Waterloo 06-26-2009 09:39 PM

Poor Plymouth. He looked scared. Clifford glanced at the Ravenclaw and just about managed to refrain from giving him a reassuring pat on the back. Bless 'im.

"Is it cos all the auroch's hide from the muggle people?" He guessed, raising his hand in the air. He had no idea really. "Maybe they're scared of the muggles. Did muggles eat them?" Hmmm. The Head Boy eyed the beast hungrily. He looked ... meaty. Yum.

Raising her hand, Anna guessed, "Maybe this auroch is here centuries after the supposed 'last auroch death', because while aurochs are extinct from the non-wizarding world, they continue to exist in our magical world. Since our world is blind to the muggle-eye, they can no longer see the auroch." Meh. That was probably wrong, as it was just a wild guess, but it was the best wild guess she had.

Helios Sunrider 06-26-2009 11:05 PM

Helios huffed near the back of the class. He hated this seperatist talk. If he had his way, the magic folk wouldn't have to hide themselves or their beasts. In his kingdom, wizards were practically worshipped by the muggle population. In this boys mind, it was the muggles who should have to integrate.

The Auroch though reminded him of home. Odysseus men paid a terrible price for touching the sacred cattle.

Such delicate things, those muggles.

"I would assume Thor is a Auroch that was born and raised on a Auroch reserve that the wizarding community created to protect these beautiful animals. My reference to the last Auroch dying in the 1600's refers the the last know Auroch within the muggle community. It is quite obvious that the species still exists, but as far as the muggles are concerned the Auroch died out in the 1600's." Please feel free to find fault with this answer too Professor Lupa. Abby thinks to herself. Obviously the woman has not forgiven me for my outburst during our unfortunate detention.

Golden Monkey 06-27-2009 12:09 AM

William frowned before putting his hand up again, "Erm perhaps this Auroch is special? That is perhaps this one hid in an underground cavern where magic protected it from dying out completely? It hid until it was found and here we are now." he replied not really having a clue but figuring he'd may as well try.

harrys_other_broom 06-27-2009 12:25 AM

Naomi raised her hand, "Could Thor really be an Auroch. The muggles could believe that they are extincted because they have just never seen one or the believed that they had domesticated all of them. It could be the same example of the Tasmanian Tiger, which muggles believe to be extinct but isn't. Also couldn't the Auroch have magical powers that protect it from muggles so they can't see them?"

TeafortheSoul 06-27-2009 12:33 AM

Celandine nommed on her peppermint toad, giving Professor Lupa a small, appreciative smile.

ZOMG SHE WANTED TO TOUCH/RIDE/HUG THE AUROCH!

Cel just stared.

STARED.

Leeness 06-27-2009 12:54 AM

Raising his hand once more, "Well if it isn't because Muggles are stupid I would like to say that it is because wizards are hiding the aurochs from them... that is generally the reason behind muggles not knowing animals."

Mad Eye Touz 06-27-2009 01:09 AM

Plymouth snuggled up to Clifford. Then, he raised his hand again, "Well maybe ... Professor M you know what a sea monkey IS?" Sea monkeys were really something Plymouth could get behind. They didn't have mammoth teeth, no claws, no beaks. "Maybe these here beasties... have just been.... dormant for a while. Like, sea monkey eggs. And you hatched one! Congrats!"

How horrifying, why would you DO THAT??!!? were his real thoughts.

"Or maybe theyve been sitting in an glacier or something. You take a trip up north recently, Professor?"

Professor Morgan nodded in turn to each students' response. "That is exactly right Copernicus." She beamed at him. "Because of the many medicinal qualities of the powdered Auroch horns, including a cure for male pattern baldness, Muggle hunters were relentless in their capture and subsequent untimely death; often killing the creatures merely to harvest said horns. This caused the Auroch population to diminish at an astonishingly fast rate." She reached over, patting the enormous creature. That sad look she so often got when discussing such subjects met her face again, but only for a moment. "Thankfully the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures intervened. The Auroch population was hidden, causing the Muggles to believe them extinct." She explained. "I'm sure you can appreciate what a huge tasks it must have been to facilitate their relocation. Each of these creatures average in size of about 2,200 lbs."

Looking over at Alessia, Iliana asked, "So... does anyone want to take a guess as to why we'd introduce an Auroch in your Ancient Runes lesson."

PadfootAndTheWolf 06-27-2009 01:50 AM

Chris raised his hand "Professors, is it because the astrological sign for Uruz is Taurus and a Auroch is somewhat like a bull? Or because the animals represented by Uruz are Ox, bison, bulls, and cows?"

harrys_other_broom 06-27-2009 01:56 AM

Naomi raised her hand, "Because we are studying Uruz and uruz is the ruin of strength which is depicted as a bull or Auroch which is just a wild bull. Also, the auroch is associated with the letter Uruz."

TeafortheSoul 06-27-2009 01:56 AM

Cela raised her hand, still staring at the Auroch. "Uruz means Auroch. Uruz is the symbol of strength, determination and endurance. Like being as stubborn as a bull and all that."

Cassirin 06-27-2009 01:57 AM

Copernicus raised his hand again. Runes was one of his favorite subjects, and one he expected that he ought to excel at, which pushed him to work harder. "Professor, I think the shape of the Uruz reflects the auroch, especially because the auroch has long been held as a specific example of extraordinary strength."

"OOh... like..." Celandine put her fingers up like bull horns and tipped her head down, so her fingers formed Uruz in an upside down, sort of a 'U'. "Like a charging bull?"

"Yes," he responded with a serious nod. "The high part looks like those forward broad shoulders and it slopes down to the rear haunches. I can see it."

Leeness 06-27-2009 02:23 AM

"Because it's second letter is also not 'L'," Varius tried... after raising his hand of course!

"Very good Master Kettleburn, take two points for Ravenclaw!" Being correct twice in a row was impressive in her classes. She turned to the rest of the class trying to do her best not to laugh at Tipps... She conjured an image out of thin air and continued.

http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...ochsherd-1.jpg

"See how the Aurochs look like the rune?" and with the wand drew the rune in red. What are the other meanings of Uruz, one per student please..." She asked sweetly.

Crayola 06-27-2009 02:43 AM

Runes were good. Aurochs were plain scary. They didnt look alike AT ALL! Still, Evangeline raised her hand, glad that at least the pillow was warm. "Uruz can mean fertility for women, Miss."

Waterloo 06-27-2009 02:43 AM

... was Plymouth snuggling up to him? That was slightly.. freaky and - oh.. Plymouth's hair smelled kind of nice.

Odd..

Head tilting to one side, Clifford put his arm in the air.

"I think it means.. MANHOOD!"
Grinning, the Head Boy gave his raised arm a flex. Muscles! "And being all... RAWR!"

Like he totally was.

TeafortheSoul 06-27-2009 02:45 AM

"Endurance." Celandine repeated, hand raised.

Cassirin 06-27-2009 02:47 AM

Copernicus raised his hand as well. "Uruz can mean mental strength too, not just physical."

Mrs. Weasley 06-27-2009 02:49 AM

Abby raises her hand. "It also means danger."

Rosa Chispa Princessa 06-27-2009 02:53 AM

Anna Banana 06-27-2009 02:59 AM

Plymouth raised his hand after Clifford's manly display of Uruz. "I think it means Clifford Carden, Professor... s. Head Boy.. errr Man." And because Plymouth could - and to make Professor V proud - he flexed behind Clifford.

This was the man section of class. Obviously.

Meh, Jake had been pretty quiet since Professor Morgan showed up. He glared at his toes, VOWING to keep those two... women seperate from each other. Professor Morgan was giving HIM attention, right? NOBODY else.

So he wished.

Meh well, got to answer at some point, right? He raised his hand. "Wicked awesome?" Jake suggested, tilting his head.

PadfootAndTheWolf 06-27-2009 04:52 AM

Once again, the Head Boy raised his hand. "What about sickness?"

Yusrieee 06-27-2009 06:25 PM
