After grabbing ahold of a bag of runes, Anna glanced around for a place to sit...or, maybe even stand. There were no seats...odd..., so she'd just, sort of, move to stand to the side over by Cela. She glanced forward as a note of some sort fluttered in and landed in Professor Lupa's hands. A few moments later, the Cheering Charm had been casted on poor Clifford Carden, who'd just apparently, according to Aparecium, broken up with longtime girlfriend Evangeline Green. Or had Evangeline broken it off with him? She supposed all that was trivial, though, as what mattered was that both looked incredibly upset at the moment. Hopefully the Cheering Charm would work wonders. Or, better yet, hopefully the two would just reunite.

Demetria walked into the classroom and looked for a place to......stand? Hm.....no desks. Interesting." she went over and grabbed herself a bag of runes. As she looked around the class everyone seemed to be very down in the dumps. Must be the all the flooding. she thought to herself. "Hello, professor." Demetria smiled and accepted a peice of candy. "I'm very looking foward to todays lesson."

Theo's wall was very comfortable to lean against. He didn't want to stand like everyone else. Sitting on the floor was fine. He could do a drying charm if he got a wet bum.

"Today is survival class... does anyone know why I would want to you to know survival skills here at Hogwarts?" She asked starting her class.

Demetria raised her hand. "Well, professor, the fact that floods have been randomly happening throughout the school could possible be a reason." she smiled. "And knowledge of survival is always a good thing to know."

Lucy turned her attention to Professor Lupa as she began speaking. "Maybe because of all the flooding going on in the castle?" She said raising her hand in the air.

"I reckon in case we get lost in the forest," he said, raising his hand from the floor. "But how are you meant to teach us about survival, you are just the Runes Professor?"

Raising her hand, Anna said, "...because we need to be prepared in case a trying situation arises. Take, for example, the recent flooding of the school. We definitely need to know survival skills to take on this flood." The flood was just one of many mysterious things that could happen around the castle. Here in the magical world, a number of situations requiring survival skills have been known to happen. "Also, as history shows, some magical folks haven't always used their magical talents in good ways. We may also need to survive against those elements, as well."

HAPPY!

Clifford was as happy as a pig in mud. Lots and lots and LOOOOTS of mud. Rolling around in the muuuud. Yummy, yummy. Grinning ear to ear, Clifford bounced and thrust a hand in the air.

"BECAUSE surival is the KEY, ma'am!" Oh yesh, it was! "'SPECIALLY in these times of crisis. Dude, we have no kitchens!!! Survival! Making fires and cooking the old muggle fashioned way! YES!" Hehehe.

Well this was certainly an intresting question Herminny thought as she raised her hand to and answer saying, "So we are prepared and know how to handle whatever disaster comes our way.".

Cela gave Professor Lupa a smile and took the candy, getting up to hand it out to the class. While she was passing the candy around she raised her hand to answer.

"Obviously there is the flooding, and... well we could get trapped in a room or something like that. That would be pretty terrible. There are other things apart from risking drowning that come along with the flooding thing too, like creature attacks? I heard there are GRINDYLOW!" Cela had to take a biiiiiig breath at that, they frightened her .

"Then there's things like food and clothes being in short supply, getting wet and sick and overloading Healer Avalon in the hospital wing and... well Hogwarts isn't all that safe anyway even without the flooding. You could end up in an epic duel, you have to survive EXAMS, some people have to deal with bullies and sometimes you need help surviving against people hurting you, breaking your heart or making you sad. Also, like what if some of the biiig magical creatures or the scariest dark creatures that we see in classes escaped? I guess the reason that I think that we need to learn about survival is 'What if?'"

Cela finished handing out candy to everyone, making sure to give Clifford extra since he was like her chocolate frog buddy and all, then she returned to her spot on the floor.

"Very good, all of you, the floods are one reason, and yes the forest is another... any dangerous situation I want you to know how to survive using your runes." She smiled.

Well... Clifford seemed happier. Good. She sent a mass Cheering Charm around the class...

"Survive using our runes!? That sounds FANTABULOUS, Professor Luuupa!" Clifford gave another excited bounce and nudged little Theo who was beside him. "Doesn't that sound awesome? OOoooooh! Thanks CelaWela!" Still grinning like a lunatic, the Head Boy NOMMED on the candy. Sugar rush. WHEEE!

Jack was about to answer the professor's question, and how learning how to swim would be a VERY good surivival trait to know since the school was flooding, but she had already moved on. He saw her raise her wand and as she waved it, something warm seemed to wash over him, making him feel incredibly cozy and relaxed. Hmmmmmmmmmm that was nice. And it lightened his mood a lot too, even though he really hadn't been in a bad mood to begin with.

Without really paying attention to what he was doing, Jack raised his hand. "CAn runes teach you how to swim? Causeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I definitely don't know HOW to swim," he said with a giddy chuckle. "and that would REALLY help me survive these trying times. Although I suppose I could just avoid the water if I feared for my life--after all, I just LOVEEEEEEEEEE being ALIVEEEEEEEEEEE!" he exclaimed.

Natasha had been in a rather good mood, already, while she listened to the others around her. Ancient Runes might not have been her all time favorite class, or anything, but she didn't mind it. There weren't much classes she did mind, to be honest. But then when the Professor... Well, she didn't know, actually, but she did feel very light and giddy all of a sudden. She raised her hand, unsure why she did. "Runes can make you survive?" She asked happily, though the answer to that question was rather obvious, it was still cool. She didn't know that.

OOOOOOO...Satine loved candy...she took one and politely added, "Thanks, Professor...these look lovely..and strawberry is my favorite." she said with a smile. As she ate one of the candies, she suddenly felt lighter than air and as if all of cares had disappeared..it was how she had imagined being drunk...she was usually a happy person, but this was just taking her over the edge...

Then she hear herself begin to giggle uncontrollably...which scared her but made her happy at the same time...she tried as hard as she could to stop giggling, but she just felt so.....happy...almost too happy...but was there a such thing as too happy?

She looked around and asked the student next to her in between giggles, "Do you feel this happy today?" she hoped giggles were as contagious as laughter because there were lots of peeps in here that need some smiles on their faces...

She looked at the girl next to her as she started giggling, and Natasha started giggling with her, too. It was like something was just really, really funny, only she didn't know what. "Yeah, yeah I do!" She giggled once more before carrying on. "I feel all like happy, and giggly," another giggle. "And stuff." Natasha smiled at the girl. "You?" She asked, unwrapping the sweet she had been given, though it surely wouldn't help her giggling, or anything, but they were YUMMY!

Demetria began copying her notes listening carefully to everything everyone was saying when......"Omg water!?! I LOVE water! how could you not love water its just soooooo watery!" she giggled like a little fangirl. Dem was already in a good mood, the cheering charm just made her plain giddy.

"This pencil needs to be pink......and sparkly. Anyone have sparkles??" she asked. "Hm....maybe I should open up my runes. I do love runes. Haha that's why I'm in this class." she laughed. She opened up her bag of runes and looked through them. "Ooo I like this one. It has a cool shape." she smiled

Meh. So .. okay, she had lied when she had said she'd focus on class. It was just hard and she was scared to spot him looking at her should she look up. And besides, she wasn't in a good mood. Hmpf. No matter what Professor Lupa said, they could need to be happy but she wasn't feeling.

Unlike some people who apparently were sad. Hmpf. Clearly, he didnt miss her that much. Which only proved her right.

But waaaait? Why was she acting so moody? She wasn't moody! She was HAPPEH! Yes, life was good! The sky was even bluuuuuue! Looking back up, Evangeline shoot a biiiiig beam on Professor Lupa's direction, adding a little bounce just for good measure. When would the class REAAALLY start?!

Satine looked at the girl giggling with her..."O yes, this is just wonderful...I mean everything is just so great...and amazing...and soooo happy..." she looked at her bag of runes and continued, "I mean this bag of runes just makes me happy." she didn't understand how she could've possibly gotten even happier than she usually was but it was okay as long as everyone else was too.

"Professor, are you this happy today too?" she looked talked to the professor and then started giggling uncontrollably again.

Daniel was somewhat seemed uncomfortable when he heard the forbidden forest but then a waved of unexplainable joy engulfed him. He then started to laugh and giggled silently as possible but he couldn't contain him.

A cheering charm? he thought.

That charm, always have a different effect on him. Instead of just cheering him up. He would go all laughing for about five minutes.

And now it started. He laughed all the way...

Oh...? Survive using their runes? Now that was interesting idea. Anna glanced down at her bag of runes, thinking how amazing it was that the pieces inside could help her against a flood, a forest, or...really a wide variety of different circumstances. Her thoughts didn't remain on the idea of situations which would require her survival for too long, though. She suddenly felt miles and miles away from any type of bad situation. As a matter of fact, she suddenly felt miles and miles away from anything and everything containing even the tiniest shread of doom.

She softly sighed, then raised her arms into the air at shoulder level. She twirled around a few times, stopping only when she thought she was getting a little too dizzy. Now this was the life! She giggled at Jack Fritzera, who was suddenly very interested in swimming. She stopped giggling, though, when he mentioned why. Fritzera couldn't swim? Merlin! No wonder he'd run squealing from the dungeons when they'd only been covered in an inch of water. She smiled at him, then turned two circles around him, giggling for no apparent reason as she did so. Why on Earth was everything suddenly so...dandy?

Perfect! The kids were back to being happy. "No they won't teach you how to swim but they may protect you from Water" she answered to Jack and then turned to a girl and said, "Yes I'm very happy..." but she didn't need the cheering charm.

"Alright..." she said slamming the door shut and the sound of it sealing was deafening. "Very well students, we shall start with flooding. Please keep in mind, *I* am flooding this room, I have total control and you are not in any real danger. Understood?"

She cast a silent aguamenti charm and water began to rise in the class room. You could tell this was clean water... not the dirty water that had been flooding the school. "Alright kids. Pick ONE RUNE to use to help with your survival, and tell me why you chose it. There are many correct answers. Let's go before we drown." She said and clapped her hands twice.

"Uruz?" Fyo said, hand shooting up in the air as the water began to rise. "Because it represents strength - of mind, purpose, more - and relative speed, and both of them are needed for survival - especially when the situation you need to get out of is one like this."

Satine listened to the next instructions trying to focus through her giggles....but the thought of flooding sobered her up quickly...she had already been stuck in a room with a flood once so she wanted to choose an Ancient Rune that would save her fast...she opened her bag and started pulling out her runes. She thought about it and then raised her hand, "Professor, I would def use the Nauthiz rune because...well...it stands for survival and patience... endurance...persistence...and to face your fears..." she said with a smile as she held up the rune.
