Jessica was inspecting the castle as she had done at the beginning of every new schoolyear, seeing the rooms and places she deeply missed during holidays. Now she found herself walking aimlessly on the third floor corridor. Since it was close by, Jess decided to enter the Trophy Room.

Her footsteps could be barely heard, but there was no one else inside. The girl just wandered along the room, looking at the trophies and cups won by former students. Her heart was leaping whenever they were earned by a Hufflepuff.

Daphne quickly made her way to the Trophy room. Her investigation of the castle led her to this room as the perfect secret hiding place. At her ankles, her cat Angelica followed her mistress. Daphne sat down against a large, wooden trophy case and put her bag down. She was feeling nervous, really practising magic for the first time. Her right wrist was bound tightly with white bandages. She slowly rolled her wrist. The movements were getting easier, but it was still difficult and limited.

Holding her wand, she narrowed her eyes, incredibly motivated. "Lumos," she said firmly. The tip of her wand lit up, making the whole room brighter. The white light bounced off the shiny trophies. "Pretty cool, Angelica," she said, proud of herself. But that was an easy spell, she needed to do something more challenging, something requiring more precise wand movements. She dug around her bag until she pulled out a shiny, red apple.

Setting it down on the floor, she stepped away from it. "Wingardium Leviosa!" she said sternly, swishing and flicking her wand. Her movements were stunted by her injury, but the apple slowly hovered above the ground. As she continued to flick her wand, it rose. Daphne was very excited, her spells might not be as powerful, but she could still do magic. Unfortunately she lost her concentration and the apple smashed into the stone floor. Her cat, Angelica leapt at the opportunity devour the remains.

Karma had been wandering her own ways through the halls of Hogwarts, when something shingy caught her eye.

She needed to get checked out for ADD ASAP.

Taking a turn, her eyes full upon the trophies, but in the midst of it all, was a girl and her cat. The girl was turned away so she couldn't see her, but recognized the back of the girl's head as Daphne.

"Cute cat," she said, smiling, walking around. "How are you Daphne?"

Daphne had taken a break from her spellwork. She was now rubbing her wrist, which was feeling a little sore. She looked at her watch, it was time to take her potion. As she went to get the small vial out of her bag, someone's voice broke the silence of the room. She jumped around and screamed, completely taken off guard by this person.

Luckily it was a girl she knew, but for some reason couldn't remember her name. It was on the tip of her tongue, but even since the summer, her memory hadn't been quite the same. "Oh... it's you!" she said, slightly out of breath from the fright. "Yeah, she's cute, a little fat though," she said with a side glance at the cat, currently munching on an apple which fell during her levitation practice.

Walking up to the girl, she tried really hard to recall her name. She remembered meeting her, and even hanging out. But the name just wasn't there. She decided not to mention it, since the girl clearly recognised Daphne from behind, even after cutting and colouring her hair. It was quite a skill! "I'm surprised you even recognised me! My hair's shorter... and red!" she said proudly, quite happy with her appearance. "So how've you been, how's the term going?" she asked, eager to take a break. Her wrist needed to rest. She rubbed the bandaged appendage , but focused on the other girl.

Karma looked down as the girl was speaking, smiling slightly. She had her hands behind her back, with her wand in one hand.

"Interesting place to be practicing spells," she said. "And there are things about people I recall very easily than others do."

She turned to face the girl again, searching her face. What she found, was that the girl standing in front of her was searching for her name. It was that look of, I know who you are but I don't remember your name kinda thing. Yeah. That was it.

"It's Karma."

Daphne shrugged. "I like it, it's quiet and private. Not many people make it down here. And I need as much practice as possible," she sighed, not wanting to elaborate further at the moment. She turned around and looked at a very large trophy, so old and dust she couldn't even read the name. "I didn't think there were that many awards at this place. Darned if I know anyone who's gotten one of these!" she laughed, the sound echoing around the room.

Angelica hopped onto one of the trophy cases, nearly giving Daphne a heart attack. What is something got knocked over? What if she broke something? Luckily the feline, sensing the Ravenclaw's anxiety, hopped down. "Don't you DARE do that again!" she sneered to the cat, who slinked away behind some trophies. "Last thing I need is to get in trouble," she rolled her eyes, slowly sitting on the ground.

"What's karma?" she asked, confused at the girl's statement. She looked perplexed for a moment, then it hit her... "Karma!" she said excitedly, then immediately calmed down. "I know your name, silly," she laughed, patting the girl on the shoulder with her bandaged hand.

Returning to her bag, she pulled out another apple and set it on the ground. "Wingardium Leviosa!" she said nonchalantly, daintily swishing and flicking her wand. The apple rose steadily to her eye level, and then she controlled it enough to set it down on the top of one of the high shelves in a trophy case. "I'm working on my wrist strength," she acknowledged, holding up her bandaged arm. "It's a long story," she said, cutting off Karma's inevitable inquiry about it. "Let's just say I need to really avoid Doxies."

Maddox was in a hurry. He had to get this home work done as soon as possible. He decided that thr trophy room door was the best door to use for his charms homework, especially since not many people came here.


He pulled the lock out of his pocket so quickly that he accidentally dropped it on his foot. "OUCH Shoot!" He hopped around for a moment on one foot while grasping the other with his hand. Once the throbbing stopped he leaned over and picked up the lock.


He placed the lock on the door and locked it. He took a deep breath, and closed his eyes, concentrating on the spell he was about to produce. Once he knew he was ready he opened his eyes, he did the proper wand motions and quietly, but energeticly said, "Alohomora!"


He smiled as the lock clicked open. Though he wanted to make sure that had infact done it properly, he decided to try one more time before taking the lock back to the professor. Maddox then locked the lock again.

He closed his eyes and concentrated on the spell he was about to cast. Once he was ready, he opened his eyes, did the proper wand movements, and whispered, "Alohomora!" He smirked as the lock opened again.


He grabbed the lock from the door and turned to walk down the corridor. Locking and unlocking the lock as he went.

Paris was running down the corridor from Jake and she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. And she turned a corner and ran smack into someone so hard so ricocheted off them and landed on her butt. "Ouch!" she said as she looked up whoever she had ran into. "Oh I'm sorry." She said to the boy. She had seen him in class before,

Maddox was trying to get back to his dorm, when someone smacked right into him as he was approaching the corner. He, of course, was still standing. He was like a brick wall, no one could knock him over, unless they were bigger then him. He looked down, noting the pretty slytherin girl and said, "Thats quite alright. Here let me help you." He smiled and held out his hand to help her up.

She felt like she had ran into a stone wall, her teeth were still chattering as she rubbed her forehead. She sure hoped he was playing Quidditch. He would smash her to bits on a broom. She turned to look up at him. Wow, she thought to herself. He was gorgeous. She blushed as she took his hand and pulled herself up. "Oh um thank you." She said trying to hide the red tint to her brown cheeks. "I'm sorry about that. I was running for a crazy Hufflepuff." She explained as she pulled her eyes away from his face. "I'm Paris Greenwood," She told him. Since she had almost imprinted her face on his stomach. He might as well know her name after that.

Tobi carried his books and what not from his little tete-a-tete with Celandine, in his bag, it was hurting his shoulder, but then most things did after his last argument with the staircase. He was still clutching her baffling drawing in his hand, trying to make sense of it, so it wasn't entirely surprising that he made a wrong turn and wound up in the trophy room.

But the silver lining there was, Paris was in there, and while the little third year was NOT someone Tobi wanted to get on the bad side of, Tobi hadn't dueled with anyone yet, and time was running out, and Paris had the badge on.

I've lived a good life... Sorry Paris. Tobi tried to be stealthy, Tried to sneak up behind her. Tried NOT to trip over his own feet as usual.

"Whoa!" But they are some really big feet, so what did you expect? "Impedimenta!" he cried as he fell forward. It was the only jinx he could think of.

Paris whirled around when she heard someone shouting. it was Tobi, he was trying to hex her! "Protego!" She shouted. Her shield charm burst out of her wand and repelled the hex. She let out a peal of giggles as she went over to help Tobi stand. "That might have worked if you hadn't tripped." She said stooping down to help him up.

"I wonder if I get points for trying?" Tobi mumbled, dusting himself off. "Thanks, Paris."

Okay so Tobi wasn't a natural born dueler. He could make a creme brulé that could bring tears to your eyes. We all have our little talents.

She giggled at him. He was funny, and he did try. "No problem Tobi." She said as he almost pulled her to the ground as she tried to pull him up. "Maybe if you stand still and try hexing someone you can have better results." She told him with a smirk. His clumsiness was rather cute and endearing.

Maddox was going to speak back when, Tobi, the gryffie that was in his group for HoM, tripped all over the place. He was about to help the kid up when Paris did, so he just stood there with a grin on his face. He wasnt expecting a gathering after doing his homework. He needed to get back to the common room so that he could finish it up. But he could wait a moment or two.


"Hello again Tobi. Nice too meet you Paris." She still ahd a bit of the flush on her cheeks from earlier, but he was used to that. He generally had that effect on girls. "Is everyone alright?" He grinned

"You're probably right," Tobi agreed. If it involved his feet things usually went badly for him. That included instances where could possibly put his foot in his mouth, which was any instance where Aggie was involved.

Tobi hadn't noticed Maddox earlier. Observance wasn't one of his strong suits. He had so few. "Oh hi!" Tobi shrugged and waved all in the same motion, Maddox was one of the few people who was about the same height as he was, for that reason alone, Tobi liked him on principle, it made him feel normal sized. "Heck, this is normal for me. I'm not 'not okay' until I've broken something that I can't get the Nurse to fix or replace."

So if Maddox was here and Paris was here, were they in mid conversation? Mid homework? Mid plot to tame Peeves? "Did my clumsy attempt to jinx Paris interrupt something important?" he asked.

She pulled herself together. Who was he to make her blush like that. Get a grip Greenwood, he should be kissing your sparkly pink toes. She pulled herself up to her short height and looked up at him her blushing cheeks gone. "And who might you be?" She asked taking command of the situation. "Oh I think just his pride is hurt." She said smirking at Tobi.

She smiled at him. He was so sweet. "Well I usually am right, but its always nice to hear." She told him. She put her hands on her hips as she looked at him.

Maddox chuckled at tobi and replied, "Well I'm glad your not hurt then." Then suddenly, he could see the wheels in Tobi's head start to move at a lightining pace. He raised his left eyebrow and replied to the odd question, "Ahh, no. I was just finishing up my charms homework when this young slytherin here slammed into me." He grinned and said, "No harm done."







Maddox raised his left eyebrow at the sudden onset of amnesia from the slytherin girl. He had already introduced himself when she slammed into him. Apparently she hurt her head when Tobi fell over. Which is odd since she didnt fall over. He shook the confusing thought off and said, "I'm Maddox...remember?" He gave her smug grin, and tried not to laugh.

"Oh well I was running from another Hufflepuff." She explained. It seems she was doing a lot of running these days.

He was throwing her off her game and it was making her nervous. Guys weren't supposed to have that effect on her. She was Paris Greenwood. The toast of the socialite scene. Well it was good that he was conceding to request and giving her his name again. "Oh yes Maddox of course. Forgive me memory," She smiled as she touched his arm. Good thing she was wearing her favorite green jersey dress and looked pretty otherwise she would feel like a real idiot. Pfft, he wasn't all that anyways....except for those tight muscles under his shirt that she just happened to slam into. Stop it! I am the best looking person here right now. She pulled her eyes away from his chest to look back at his face. "So um..what has you wandering the halls at this hour?" She asked leaning close to him.

Oh lovely. Another little girl that was going to think she could flirt with him. He was 17 for goodness sake's! Did she really think he was going to flirt with someone 4 years younger then him? Maddox kept a smile on his face, trying to be polite. "You are forgiven. Just don't forget it again." He winked at her. Thats pretty much all she would get from him. A wink and a smile. Anything else would be considered jailbate and he wasn't having it. "I was just finishing up my charms homework. I actually need to get back to my dorm so I can write up my paper." He smiled.

She looked at him as he winked at her again. Was he trying to work his charms on her? Hmm, she could withstand that little trick. She stood up taller, um well as tall as she could with her 4 ft 6 in self. She wasn't the real height for a 14 year but if you told her that you would be nursing a busted lip. "No I won't be forgetting that again." She laughed. There she was in command of this little encounter again. "Oh well by all means. Don't let me keep you from your studies." She said. She would have liked to stay and talk to him more but he must have felt like he was hanging out with little kid or something, and he was just trying to get rid of her. "Didn't mean to hold you up or anything." She said stooping down to gather up her things.

Maddox gave her a smug grin. She was actually very short compared to his tall stature of 6'3". "Thanks love." He grinned and slung his bag across his back and started to walk down the hall. Before turning down the stairs he turned back and said, "See you around Paris." He turned back around, grinning as he went, leaveing the cute 3rd year behind.

Everything had spilled out of her bag. She bent down to retrieve her lip gloss, chocolate frogs, cherry bombs and her ink bottles. She didn't bother to watch him walk to wherever he was going before Paris slammed into him. She stuffed everything back into her bag before she stood up and headed off in the other direction toward the stairs to head down to the Slytherin common room. She waved back at him over her shoulder as his good bye.

Chrisitne has been walking around the castle looking for a place where there weren't that many people. She opened the door and saw the trophy room was empty. She walked in, with the book she just took out from the library tucked under her arm, and closed the door. She went and sat by one of the trophy shelves on the floor. She took the book about werewolves and started reading. She had no idea what real werewolves were like. She had only heard of them in muggle movies, and they looked nothing like how Kyle had looked the night before.
