Agie raised her hand 'I've seen muggle do this. The magicalitions. No wait the magicalitions or whatever they are called. The shoot it as a dart bored for fun. And even through a ring which makes it light up in flames. The arrow could go a long way. So it would be good if you needed to maybe protect youself. "

Walking up to the desk, Liz takes a pair of glasses, and walking back to her spot, she sees a light blue color around her.

Protective spell? Hah. That was for wimps. Hmpf. Clifford was big.. and he was brave.. Yup, yup. He didn't need no protective spell! On second thoughts, knowing his spellwork he'd somehow manage to shoot the arrow out the wrong end of his wand and wound himself.

Hmmm. Protective spell it was. OOOH! And protective goggles too. FUNKEH!

Grabbing a pair, he hastily put them on and nudged the person nearest him. Ah, it was that little Ravenclaw kid that had attacked him in Flourish & Blotts one time. Mellie? "Don't I look cooool?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows and bouncing in his awesome blue sphere.

Lasca smiled as she grabbed a pair of glasses. Looking around she noticed that all the students were in glowing blue bubbles. She giggled slightly and then took her place on the line. This class should be interesting.

William beamed happily, glad to know he was at least getting points for his house as he walked up and took some glasses. Placing them on his face he blinked as his eyes got used to the weird sensation and shrugged. It was then he realized he was glowing. Looking down at his hands, then body he grinned widely as a blue glow surrounded him. "Cool." he whispered, walking over to where his stuff was, his wand out at the ready.

Sean walked up to the professor's desk and took the glasses. He headed over to where everyone was supposed to shoot the arrows. Sean wasn't too sure about this and didn't really want to be the first to give it a shot.

Sean watched everyone come over and join him. He glad he wasn't the only one waited for further direction before shooting an arrow. He adjusted his glasses nervously.

Daphne wiggled her fingers in the air. Hmph. Maybe her idea wasn't so brilliant after all. Displeased, she blushed furiously, even as a blue orb enveloped her. Her hazel eyes fell on her upturned palms, making her believe that blue wasn't her color. Waiting in line for her turn to choose a pair of protective glasses, Daphne glanced over her shoulder at her Prefects. At least they seemed to be doing well.

Picking up the less bulky looking pair, Miss Hopton made a little disgusted noise, holding the glasses away from her. This was so unattractive. Putting them on with some struggle (what with trying to keep her headband in place and her ponytail completely perfect), Daphne turned around and walked back towards the left wall, stepping behind the line Professor Pierce had drawn.

Her wand was out where it belonged on her left hand, and she twirled it excitedly between her short fingers. She would do well. She would do well.

Firing arrows seemed awesome and he grabbed the protective glasses from her desk. Nothing seemed to really happen but he soon realized that a blue sphere went around him. OOOH. He was soooo like a super-hero now, a super-hero that glowed blue all over him. It seemed as though he was invincible and that the blue-spherish shape around him was a shield. And his wand was his sword. Cam was like a kid Hercules! "This is coooooool."

He started doing karateh movements until the professor spoke again.

The moment the professor claimed they were going to start was the moment Melina started to switch her weight from one foot to the other in obvious anxiety. This was not going to be good. Oh no, oh no, oh no. Protective spells or not something could go wrong and she'd get an arrow stuck on her head. Gulp. Or someone else would.

Biting her lip, she made her way towards the googles only to feel some kind of nudge. Squeaking, she jumped and looked to the spot where she had felt the nudge in search of the arrow which apparently wasn't there. Instead, it was something human. Looking up, her eyes went wide at the sight of a certain boy. Uh oh. She was doomed. He was going to get revenge on her for that whole book accident, wasn't he? Ha-haha-hahaha... Oh dear.

"Er - er - er-," She stuttered, staring at him. "S-Sure?," She agreed tentatively, her hand searching for a pair of googles absent-mindedly while her eyes kept stuck to his face.

Wooo Hooray for protection spells and points! More specifically protection spells... Melanie was thrilled that she wasn't about to get shot with an arrow. Instead she was learning to shoot them. That she didn't really even trust herself with.

She listened carefully to the teachers instructions and wrote down the incantation in her notebook as quickly as possible, saying it to herself as she did it.

Her face fell slightly as the professor said that they would not be practicing the spell today. Bummer. Melanie started up to the front of the classroom to get her goggles, but then she stopped in her tracks. Why was she surrounded by a blue glowy thing? Melanie snapped her fingers, realizing finally just what it was. The protection shield. Did that mean someone was gonna shoot arrows at them?! Call her crazy, but Melanie wasn't overly fond of that idea.

Melanie quickly got over it and marched up to the desk with the rest of the students, and picked up a pair of goggles. then she quickly took her place in the line. She giggled as she watched some of the students get all excited over the goggles and sphere. They all looked kinda weird, including probably herself...

Although she was happy for those that had gotten points, Anna frowned when she heard that she wasn't amongst them. Oh, well. Hopefully she'd have better luck next time. Shrugging, Anna headed forward and grabbed a pair of protective glasses off the professor's desk. She slipped them on and headed towards the line the professor had charmed to appear on the floor. She watched as the professor demonstrated the spell and then charmed some some sort of blur sphere around each and every student. Oh, well now this was pretty cool. Between the arrows in this class and the charms professor locking himself into a tank of water, sixth year was turning out to be really cool.

Alex walked around her desk and leaned against the front of it as she cast the protective spell over herself, "The incantation is Shrowan and the wand motion is a short of a jabbing point at where you want to shoot the arrow. Like so." She jabbed her wand at the target closest to the back wall, her arrow piercing the dead center of the bulls-eye.

"Go ahead, you try."

Chris watched as she did the spell. Ok it was his turn now. "Shrowan!" he flung the arrow out of his wand tip and it hit the ring just a level out of the bull's eye!

Elizabeth quickly moved from her new spot near one of the walls to get a pair of glasses from the professor. She had made a mental note of the protection spell and wand movement Professor Pierce had mentioned, and when she put the glasses on, she grinned as she saw the blue auras around everyone that indicated the spell was active. This was going to be an interesting class.

And then they were instructed on the actual spell they were learning, and her grin grew larger. She was going to get to try it? Too bad some people weren't here to see her now, or they might get scared by what she could be capable of. Narrowing her eyes, she examined the target for a few seconds, before casting. "Shrowan!," she said as she jabbed her wand toward the exact center of the target. The resulting arrow wavered a little, but hit the outside edge of the bullseye. She was so going to have to tell Jonathan about this next time she was home.

Evangeline, who had been silently worrying that someone - herself, actually - would get hurt in this class, let out a small sigh of relief when Professor Pride put a protective spell on them. WEEEEEEE!! Shiiiiiiiiiiny! Now more excited about the lesson, she made her way to where the googles where and tried to pick some who wouldn't look tooooo horrible on her, before putting them on. YAY! Now she wouldnt get arrows in her eyes.

Always a good thing to know when you were going to play with arrows.

After she checked if the googles were securely on, she returned to the left well, stepping behind the line Professor Pierce had drawn. This was gonna be fun, fun, fun!

Daphne felt a lot more secure now that she knew what protective measures were in place. She happily stood up and grabbed a pair of glasses. "Ugly," she scrunched her nose. She was glad no one had a camera around to capture her wearing those. The large frames completely overwhelmed her small features.

All of a sudden everything appeared to be a bright blue, but she soon realised this was some sort of personal shield. "Cool!" she exclaimed as she stretched her arms out and watched the bubble expand around her extremity.

'So it's like a sword? Or a fighting match? Nice...' Freya raised her wand and pointed the tip to the target in front of her. 'Shrowan!' She thought in her commanding tone and made the same jabbing motion with her wand. To her surprise, there was no recoil as an arrow flew out of the end and was even more delighted when the arrow hit the target's bullseye, though it was to the far left side. 'Neat...this might come in handy.' Freya raised her wand again in order to make more attempts, having not been completely satisfied with her first shot. She would keep going until it was perfect.

With a small smirk, Clifford snickered quietly at Mellie's obvious ... nervousness? There really was no doubt about it, the girl looked like she was about to poop herself. Not literally of course.. well, he hoped not. GROSS!

Taking a step away from her just in case, Clifford watched as Professor Pierce demonstrated and got her arrow dead center of the target. "Sweeet. Nice aim, Professor."

Shrowan?

There was no way this was going to work. Hmmm.

Toes at the guide line, Clifford jabbed his wand at the target and said the incantation, "Shrooo-wan!" Nothing. Great.

WOOOOT. This sounded a little too exciting. Now Terry just had to make sure he didn't let that get in the way of getting hit by a bajillion arrows or something. Gazing down at blue glow around him, he waved his hand about for a couple minutes. WEEEEEEEEEE.

Err, no. Back to the lesson. Grabbing a pair of goggles, Terry painstakingly carefully stuck them over him eyes. His hands roved the back of his hair endlessly. Now would NOT be the best time for evil strands of hair to be sticking out at odd angles or what not. How embarassing would that be?

Nearly satisfied, he finally tore his hands away from his head, clamping them firmly to the side. He needed to focus here.

Pulling his wand out, he flushed as he realised he'd completely forgotten what the professor had just said. 'Shuh-ro-...wan?' He squeezed his eyes shut as an arrow flew out, half-heartedly whacking against the edge of the bull's eye before flopping limply to the ground. ...ahhh, he didn't need a second guess to know that totally had NOT worked.

Wow, Professor Pierce had perfect aim, getting dead center of a bullseye is quite difficult. Amanda was ready to try this, she just hoped the arrow went in the target. "Shrowan!" She said clearly and jabbed her wand at the target, her arrow hitting in the bullseye although it was just slightly left of the center.

Yes!!! Kayla walked up to the line, making sure not to step over it and raised he wand toward the target. "Shrowan" she said confidently and gave her wand a jab to where she wanted the arrow to go. At first she thought nothing had happened until she realised that the arrow had actually missed the target altogether and was sticking out of the wall at the back of the room. Oops...definitely needed to work on her aim.

Adjusting her goggles with her right hand, Daphne used the other, the one with her wand, to raise it up in the air. "Professor," spoke the blond inquisitively. "Is there anything to this? By that I mean..." hesitated the third year, turning slightly pink. "Should there be a special intent behind our incantation?"

Like, wishing to pierce the head of a deeply hated enemy. For the meantime, she turned sideways to practice the jabbing motions with her wand.

Sean nervously looked back and forth as other students started shooting arrows. He wasn't sure when it would be his turn, or where to aim the arrow.

He finally decided on a target straight across from him. Sean takes out his wand, takes a deep breath.... "Shrowan" He calls out, making a stabbing motion with his wand.

An arrow comes out of his wand and soars about 5 inches and falls flat. Sean blushes deep red and takes a step back before trying again. "Shrowan" He says, with a similar wand movement as the first, but more refined. And the arrow flies out and makes contact with the target.

Anna nodded and then raised her wand towards the bulls eye targets. This shouldn't be too terribly hard. Anna jabbed her wand around in the air a few times, trying to get a feel for the wand movement before actually casting the spell. Satisfied with her progress, Anna pointed her wand towards the targets once again. After another quick jabbing motion, Anna called out, "Shrowan!" and watched her arrow sail through the room, landing just shy of the bulls eye target. Anna lowered her wand and frowned at the target. She should be able to get her aim on track shortly!

Stepping up closer to the wall, and feeling more secure as he slid against it he watched as she performed the spell and saw the arrow shoot out, effectively hitting the bulls-eye. "Amazing." he muttered, the blueness surrounding him fully. Now he was nervous; nervous of missing the thing completely and hitting someone even though he knew no one could get hurt.

What if he missed completely and hit the professor? Oh, that would not be good at all. He'd probably burst into hysterical tears and run from the room, hide under his bed and sniffle until the end of term. Yes, he definitely had to practice the jabbing motion first, then the incantation itself - without wand - before he even attempted to try it.

He watched as a few already attempted the spell but slid down the wall, his eyes intent on the wand in front of him. Full of concentration he jabbed his wand, imagining a arrow shooting out hitting its target. If only it were tha easy he mused as he continued practicing. "Professor, can you make the arrow larger than what it is?" He asked, slightly nervous of a massive arrow shooting out of his wand, bent on attacking everything.
