But when he picked up on her comment about his ego, she rolled her eyes. "Yep. Definitely an ego," she said with a grin. "And Nicholai never really pushed that any of the times I talked to him." Although Asteira's assumption he was going to try something with her during the incident in Flourish and Blotts was quite entertaining, when the two of them had only been trying not to crack up at the ridiculousness. "Your boots that interesting?," she then asked, as Maddox had turned his attention to his feet.

Maddox smiled, and thought about that for a moment. It was true, but he had to make sure that no one did break her heart even if that meant preventing a relationship from happening so it wouldnt. "Thats why I plan on preventing any kid from coming within ten feet of her. I dont want to be the one to tell Nico that his little sister is heartbroken because I didnt watch her well enough." He sighed and shook his head. He grinned at her last comment. "Well I tend to get into trouble a little to often." He smirked.

PFFFFFFFFT! Nico and no ego in a sentence was not cohesive at all. Unless of course they were saying 'Nico is a player and no one has an ego like his.' Mads snorted and said, "Well obviously you dont know him like you think you do. I've known Nico since we started Durmstrang our first year. His ego is the size of two universe's combined. He just knows how to hide it well." 'Especially when he wants something...' Mads thought but didnt say out loud. He didnt want to offend Elizabeth. Then she asked about his boots. He quickly looked up at her and smiled. "Nah, just the fact that the need to be polished..." He looked down at them and back to her with his left eyebrow raised, and a huge grin on his face.

"I assume you're restricting that to boys?," she teased, before adding, "In any case, that would be fascinating to watch. Especially since you'd probably end up looking like some sort of stalker or something." Then she grinned. And when he talked about trouble, she shrugged a little before smiling again. "I think it's statistically impossible for students here to completely avoid trouble. But too often? That definitely seems like it would be a problem."

At his snort in response to her comment about Nicholai, she raised an eyebrow before speaking. "I never said I knew him very well. And it's not my fault that when we had first met, we ended up talking more about our families, and what we wanted to do after getting out of school." But then she grinned. "But there was always that time when he felt it necessary to show off his abs when I asked what had happened to him that had gotten him into that detention last term." She laughed as he then responded to her question about his boots. "No way are you getting me to polish those. That is not in my job description," she joked back to him as he grinned.

Maddox squinted his eyes and pursed his lips. She was mocking him for trying to protect a girl that was practically a sister to him. He folded his arms across his chest and said, "Yes, boys. They will know full well who I am and why I am protecting Cela. I will not look like a stalker." He was a little angry but he knew she was right in a way. But he had to protect Cela. He didnt want her to feel the same pain he had in the past.

He grinned and said, "Well not as often as others, but I have lost points." He shruged and smirked.

Mads shook his head and chuckled. Nico was smooth, but not as smooth as him. "Nico likes to show of his scars. Damaged goods are more appealing then perfect ones are, at least thats what Nico thinks." 'And so do I.' He thought to himself, while smirking. "My scars arent as extinsive as his, but I gave him a few of his. He gave me one." Mads grinned a bit more. He chuckled at her reaction to what he was insinuating. "I would never suggest that. I was only joking. Besides, magically polishing them is so much easier." He pulled out his wand, and with a quick flick of his wrist, his combat boots were completely clean.

Lima wondered down the corridor, with her mind on other things. Namely a gorgeous Slytherin boy that she had got to know better in Hogsmeade. A Slytherin that she was trying to keep herself from liking; and she was losing the battle. But what did it matter really? I mean her and her ex were done anyway. What did it matter if she was trying to move on? And - she thought to herself, smirking - she was starting to feel happier than ever before now. She sighed loudly and continued to walk along almost aimlessly, not paying attention to anyone that she passed.

Jake was counting his step from the top of the castle, right the way to the bottom, whilst making sure he didn't trip or anything. A loud sighing sound caught his attention, as it came from close by, and Jake jumped in surprise, looking up as he bumped into someone.

"Lima," he grinned. This was the only person who Jake talked to using their nickname. The other one was just too darn long. Whiggly worm or something. Couldn't be saying that all the time.

Paris was walking up from the greenhouses after having potted her eggs. She looked up as she saw Jake. She waved at him. "Hey sweetie." She said with a smile on her face.

Lima noticed that the girl from the ice cream parlor was there. But she decided not to mention anything as she didn't want to call attention to that incident. Instead she just ignored her.

"Good to hear that," she said smiling. "Not much.. Just thinking about things." She didn't want to admit that she was thinking about a boy, though she couldnt' help blushing a bit. "What about you?"

She had to keep herself from cringing at the pitch his voice had hit as he called her name. She was going to have to learn a earplug charm or something. That was going to give her a headache. "How are you doing love?" She asked him as she gave him a big hug.

"Well," Jake took a deeeeeeeeep breath. "I was in Honeydukes, and i had a leeeeettle bit of toffee, and I was running from Cameron before he realised something. And theeeeeeen I couldn't slow down, because I was all hyper, and I ran in circles."

Jake looked up to check she was still listening. "And Cameron threw a chocolate frog in the air for me... for some reason... and it went in my face, and and and and and I got rid of it... then I didn't see the lampost..." Jake replayed the memory. "And I ran into it..."

It really was quite humourous, until Jake remembered. "I got blood all over my T-shirt," he said, a little downhearted.

Ha! Easy on the sugar?! After the wonders of the stuff he experienced?! No chance... "Easy on the... hahahahahaaaa..." Jake laughed. Oh, that was a good one. Classic. "Anyway..." he giggled, wiping away the tears of mirth. Yup, sugar wasn't quite gone yet. "It's a good job they got the hospital wing, you can get superficial injuries as much as you like... and you'll be fine! I just... need to learn not to go too far."

Hogwarts... Hogwarts... Hoggy-Warty Hogwarts.

"Ohh, it's great! I loved Quidditch... I tried out for the team, but it was my first time on a broom, so I don't know if I'll make it... we'll see..." Jake mused. "Do you like quidditch? I can't remember if I asked you befoooooore..."

Elizabeth's green eyes widened, and she bit her lip at the expression on Maddox's face after her teasing question. He seemed to have taken it differently than she had expected, and she mentally reminded herself that not all boys were like Robert or Ludo. Or even Jonathan. "Um, okay," she said softly, before a tiny grin slipped out. "But don't you think if they knew who you were and why you were protecting Cela, they might think you were going to stalk them? A little? Or hurt them?" She quickly closed her mouth then, as her eyes widened even more. She so hadn't meant to say that last part. But he really did look a bit angry right now. And a little scary, if she admitted it to herself.

But then he grinned again, and she took a deep breath to relax. Grinning, she said, "I have yet to lose any points." Even though she had been deathly afraid she had been about to at a few points during that conversation with Professor Truebridge. First when she admitted to the humming, even though he had played like he had forgotten, and then when he had accused her of not being willing to see him as a professor.

She laughed as he shook his head at her comment about Nicholai. "I didn't see any scars," she said with a smirk. "Just a really big bruise. But now you've got me kinda interested as to what I'm missing" Nicholai was supposed to like showing off his scars? Maybe she had been doing something wrong. Like she was abnormal or something. But for some reason, she was finding that entertaining, as opposed to her usual thoughts about it being upsetting. And then she laughed again as he felt it necessary to explain he had been joking about his boots. "Are you underestimating my intelligence?," she teased. "I knew you didn't actually expect me to do anything. But it's more fun to keep people on their toes" She watched as he pulled his wand out to polish his shoes, and then raised an eyebrow. "Impressive," she said dryly, half-serious and half-teasing. At least she knew he knew how to keep his things clean.

Then she laughed. "That happens to me too sometimes." Then he mentioned getting a sticker from the Charms teacher. It was adorable how he seemed to be happy about that. "Why did he give you a sticker?" she asked, both curious and slightly confused.

Lima raised her brow as the girl suddenly got in her face. "Well, I figured that you were busy talking to Jake, so I just decided to keep out of things." She shrugged. That was partially true. I mean, she did feel that way also. She wasn't going to mention the ice cream drama though; she didn't need the girl to start remembering that.

Jake quirked one eyebrow. He wasn't sure why, but someone had done the same to him when he'd said the same thing as Lima had. Bwaha...

Jake grinned, showing off his teeths. "I kinda keep having trouble remembering which end of my wand is the business end," he explained. "So the big man, the Sticker Merchant, he gave me a sticker and stuck it permanently on the end I'm supposed to hold."

Jake nodded so that his hair shook a little. "So, now I know. If I can see a pink and red frog on a yellow and blue lilypad in a green pond, then my wand is the right way round."

She nodded. "Yeah the hospital wing is great. I had a mishap with one of my experiments, and the nurse was really great. She even brushed me hair." Paris told him. She rather liked the nurse.

She giggled at Jake. "I love Quidditch. My aunt is a seeker for the Ghana national team and my grandfather owns a broom company, and he played for the Ghana national team when the won 3 back to back World Cups." She explained. "So Quidditch is kind of in my blood." She loved the game. Well she loved it as much as she did football. "Yeah I tried out too, but it wasn't my best work and I'm a bit upset by my performance, and I hope I make the team." She said.

He couldnt keep his wand straight? That was so... adorkable. She tried to keep from giggling, as that might seem rude. "Well, he is really kind then," she said in agreement to what he had told her earlier. "There is a sticker merchant?" She blinked, not following this part of the conversation.

"Well, that's good to know. 'cause we certainly wouldn't want you performing spells on yourself by mistake. Like what happened to Ron Weasley when his malfunctioning wand made himself burp up slugs." She snorted.

"Excuse me?" she said, starting to get annoyed with this girl's attitude. "I was just minding my business here. Now would you just do the same and stop this nonsense?" She was trying really really hard to control her temper.

Jake grinned at Paris. "I think Cameron tried out too," he pointed out. "Imagine IF I got on the team and so did you two... that'd be kinda... scary, actually..."

Nodding again, Jake turned back to Lima. "Yeah... mega kind... And Ashby is the sticker merchant, ya silly..." Jake grinned. "He's certainly nicer than... erm... some professors..." Jake commented, nearly slipping up. "Plus, he enjoys a good prank, so... yeah..."

Jake smiled when he thought of the Acid Pops incident, that smile disappearing slightly as he sensed the impending ~~doom~~ argument.

She already in the girl's face. "You are already forgotten." She told her as she turned her back on her to continue her conversation with Jake. She just remembered where she knew that girl from. That horrible little flirting display that had her and Ella cracking up. That did give her a tickle

She nodded at him. "Yeah Cameron is actually pretty good. He's a little speed demon though. He has to learn how to control his speed, but he would make a awesome chaser on the team." She told hold. "I'm sorry I missed your tryouts though. Hopefully I can see you play Gryffindor when the season starts." She smiled at him. She couldn't imagine Jake on a broom. That was dangerous.

Penny was looking for a quiet place to read. The common room was loud these days. So she walked till she found a place. She found a bench, sat down, pulled her book out of her bag, and started to read.
