You enter the room with your partner. Suddenly the lights go out and you feel something strange, like magic and hear slight popping noises. When the lights come back on, you can no longer see the exit, the desks are gone and it appears the classroom got bigger, but you cant really tell because your in the middle of a maze! Your hear Professor Pierce's voice from... somewhere.

"Upper years, you are in the middle of a moderately complicated maze, your partner is on the outside with a map which has two dots on it, each representing one of you. There are several exits to my maze, your goal is to find the one your partner is standing at. The catch is, you must communicate silently. For example, if you come to a fork, send up the word 'Left?' or 'Right?' and your partner will respond with sparks, green for 'yes' and red for 'no'. When you find your partner, when you do, you may leave. Begin."

OOC: This is your homework. Points are given for creative RPing and success with the spells. After getting out of the maze, PM me your user name, user number, house and character name. If you dont have a partner, pretend you do. Though it will be easier to RP if you have someone to RP with, so try and find one

Eager to get outta there, Evangeline practically ran down the path to the left and ran and ran and ran, oblivious to the sounds around her. She was gonna get freeeee! She just knew it!! With her blue eyes watering at the thought of dying there, Evangeline angrily kicked the maze, in the hopes of, maybe, make it fall. It was a silly hope, but yeah. You never knew. Of course, nothing happened, expect that her foot was a bit more sore now and Evangeline hiccuped pathetically.

Well, if this maze was trying to kill her, she wouldn't just give up, would she?! HECK NO! Wiping her silly tears away, Evangeline ran back for what seemed an eternity until she found the fork where she had turned left. She'd turn right now ... and hope it was the right way. Not stopping to catch her breath, she ran down the right path as fast as her legs would take her without being at risk of falling over again. Her knee was scratched already and she didn't want a scratch to match that in the other knee. Nuh huh.

Thank Merlin this wasn't leading to a dead again again, and Evangeline would've bounced up and down if she had the breath to do it when she saw another fork. Another fork and a light down one path that seemed to be coming from outside. EEEEE!!

Still, she decided to ask Shana again and dropping to the ground, laying there looking at the ceiling (she needed to rest! She wasn't used to all that running), she performed the risona spell once more. 'Right this time?'

Shana looked at the map OH NO! she had sent her the wrong way.She sat back down and started to cry.She was soo Stupid.She looked up and waved her wand.Firsitan! She cried. Then started to think Green.She hoped Evangeline was near the exit so she couldn't make anymore mistakes.She was still crying and by now her face was bright red the only thing she could do Was wait

But a real one. With four prongs. How the heck was she supposed to word this?

"Risona", she said after a moment of thinking about the phrasing.It ended up being 'Far left magenta, left marigold, right lavender, far right navy blue.' That made sense, right?

Abby and Ray walk into the Transfiguration classroom together. The light go out. When they come back on, Abby finds herself in a middle of a maze. Abby tries to yell, but the sound doesn't carry. She takes out her wand and holds it up over her head. Abby makes an upward swishing movement while she thinks to her self Risona. A blue ribbon is emitted from her wand which forms the words: "Ray, are you still here?"

Red sparks! Well, if green sparks meant go, then left sparks mean... no? And she had asked about going right, so that meant No Going Right. Oh, good. She had not wanted to go right anyway. The left fork looked oh, so much safer than the right path.

William decided to hop around on one foot for some odd reason, perhaps because he was hungry for food he didn't know. All ne knew was his stomach was rumbling loudly and he was growing tired. Looking down at his map he held his breath as the little dot that was his partner turned left. Letting out the breath he didn't realize he was holding he watched as it stopped at the last fork. Excellent! That meant only two more turns before the exit!

Grinning proudly now he watched for her ribbon grinning more as he saw it closer to his position. Realizing he should probably head to the exit so he could meet his partner at the end he set off, his little feet tramping on the floor as he rounded the corner and stopped at the exit. Now, to perform the spell without messing up this time he thought to himself as he raised his wand, seeing her asking for the left again. Nodding to himself he thought green as he jabbed his wand and shouted, "Firstian!" at the same time. Green sparks shot out of his wand,shooting up into the air high above anything else.

All he could do now was wait. When they took the left there would be one more right then home free. Too bad there wasn't a way to tell them that he mused silently to himself as he tapped his foot to a rhythm in his head.

He was tired, okay he could admit that. Standing still for over an hour or however long it was, his eye burning from that one spell was finally getting to him, and THAT was saying something! How his partner was faring was beyond him but he could imagine creepy vines and darkness surrounding her and there was nothing she could do but wait and pray.

Good thing there was only one more left than straight on home. Flexing his tired hand he looked up, noticing how close her ribbon was. With a whoop of glee one nodded excitedly, raising his wand and shouting "Firstian!" as clear as he could thinking the color green the whole time. As usual now green sparks shot out of his wand and he waited for her last ribbon, his hunger getting to him.

Tilting his head he swore he saw a delicious looking hot fudge sundae with whipped cream and a chocolate frog lying on top a foot away from him. Licking his lips he practically ran over to it and tried to take a bite before realizing it was the green disgusting leafy maze wall. Spitting out the clump he had taken out he shook his head "Ewwwww" he groaned, the taste horrific. Note to self: Don't eat green things he thought to himself as he trudged back to the exit and waited a spot of maze on his cheek.

Stomach grumbling, he wished he'd brought one of those chocolate frogs to class.

Kayla looked up and saw green sparks. Okay was that the answer to her question or was that telling her to go right? Hmm...she was getting tired and hungry herself. If the kid managed to get her out of this maze in the next five minutes she would buy him Honeydukes shop itself.

"Risona" she said swishing her wand upwards again. 'RGT' ugh that wasn't what she wanted, now she was too busy thinking about her stomach. She said the incantation again concentrating hard this time, "Risona" more ribbon flew out of her wand. 'CAM WILL YOU PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE!! RIGHT?'

The sound of his stomach was probably making him even more hungrier than before and he just couldn't stop it now. Every moment or so there would be some sort of monster eruption sound coming out of it. Where was some of those candy he'd been saving in his pocket? Just kill me already. He quietly stomped his foot on the floor to try ignoring the hungriness and the thought of candies and sweets and bacon everywhere! Maybe even flying fried chicken in the air could work too.

Oh yes, she was going to the right. So close to the finish line or so he thought. They were probably at least 2 or more away from going out of the maze and his stomach immediately made a disturbing sound again. Bleh! More ribbon word-thingies came up in the air and he tried to read them. Kayla needed the loo? OH, the loo. She probably needed the bathroom and wondered if she really needed to go. Then again she could have meant something else, who knows. But it meant that he needed to hurry up still. The parchment, OK... left.

"Firsitan!" Green came out of his wand.

Ruby stood watching the map and wondering how long before this nightmare was over, she saw that her partner was coming up to a fork with four prongs and Ruby started to look at which way she should go, she was still looking at the map and looking up into the air for the ribbon when she saw the message.....

Evangeline had a slight idea that Shana had been crying, but in fact, so had she and she knew she'd hate it if the little girl mentioned her slight red eyes. That was why she decided not to make any kind of commentary - not that she had the time to. Next thing she knew, Shana was squishing her, after all. "Pfft. I wouldn't have done it without you." She said thruthfully, awkwardly patting the girl's back. "I'd still be in there. So thank you."

With a whoop of glee one nodded excitedly, raising his wand and shouting "Firstian!" as clear as he could thinking the color green the whole time. As usual now green sparks shot out of his wand and he waited for her last ribbon, his hunger getting to him.

Tilting his head he swore he saw a delicious looking hot fudge sundae with whipped cream and a chocolate frog lying on top a foot away from him. Licking his lips he practically ran over to it and tried to take a bite before realizing it was the green disgusting leafy maze wall. Spitting out the clump he had taken out he shook his head "Ewwwww" he groaned, the taste horrific. Note to self: Don't eat green things he thought to himself as he trudged back to the exit and waited a spot of maze on his cheek.

Juniper could have leaped for joy when she saw sparks fly. In fact, she did leap for joy, kicking her heels back and doing a little happy dance when she landed. She could practically taste the fresh air that awaited her outside the maze. Not quite, but she knew she was prettttty close because her partner's sparks were not very far away.

The idea of freedom was enough to make Juniper skip down the left fork. Skip, skip, skip to my lou, skip skip skip to my lou... Juniper hummed as she skipped. Clearly, all that time stuck in the maze was going to her head. She did not even know what a 'lou' was or why someone would skip there. Why, she did not even have a lou! And yet she was evidently skipping to one. Weird.

This time, Juniper was paying enough attention to heed when a new fork approached, and she stopped in front of it. Please be the last one, please be the last one, she hoped. Then, she quickly concentrated on the word left and said, "Risona!"

LEFT?

Juniper hopped up and down. Not only had she mastered the spell, but she was nearly positive she was almost free of the maze. It was just too exciting for her to handle with both feet on the ground.

William gave a sour face as he waited, praying she hadn't gone the wrong way. He was HUNGRY! He needed food, and the green leafy maze just wouldn't cut it for him. Not that he didn't mind the greenness but he was a kid, he loved food. Watching as his partners dot stopped at the last fork in the maze he grinned. Excellent, there was only one more left then straight. He'd have to think of a color to tell her he thought, frowning. Oh he knew, blue!

Waiting until the sparks dissapeared he raised his wand again, thinking blue and bronze as he shouted "Firstian!" again, watching as the bronze and blue sparks shot out of his wand again. Sweet he was getting to be a pro at this!

Waiting at the finish line he looked expectantly for his partner, who no doubt wanted out of that maze right then and there. He hoped so anyway; perhaps she loved the dark recluse of the maze and wanted a nap before coming out. Well if that was the case, he'd leave, run up to the dorm room and grab some chocolate frogs than run back and hope she was awake.

Ok, not really. He wanted this finished now, when they were soooo close to finishing. And besides he still needed to explore.

But just after the green sparks came blue and bronze sparks. Juniper stopped short, practically falling over because she had been running so quickly. What on earth did blue and bronze sparks mean?

Oh! Maybe they meant that that had been the last fork. Juniper decided that this must be the reason, and she quickly continued her sprint out of the maze. But then she saw it. Another fork, with three possible pathways.

What on earth was this all about? Juniper stared at the fork, trying to decipher how she should ask her partner to go. She could write a really long message in the ribbon, and give a third color code. But... that would take a long time, and Juniper wanted to get out of the maze as quickly as possible. She remembered the blue and green sparks. Perhaps they had meant.. go straight at the next fork. Yes, that must be it. And if it was not it, then Juniper would find out soon enough.

Taking a deep breath, Juniper decided to take her chances on guessing what the blue and bronze meant. She walked slowly down the third fork, gaining speed and confidence until she was eventually running, running, to get out of the maze at last. She could smell the freedom, she could taste the space.

"We did iiiit!" Juniper practically tackled her first year partner, exhilarated by the freedom of being out of the maze. She completely forgot that they had never introduced themselves, and was just so proud of the first year boy. "You got me out of the maze!" Juniper beamed at him, no less than thrilled.

That would be awkward! No, instead he kept staring, praying she'd get out soon.

Then he saw a small spot at the end of the long stretch of maze. It looked like his partner, but honestly there were still so many students in there that perhaps it was a different student. Blinking his blue eyes and trying not to cry he watched as the small splotch got closer, beginning to run straight at him.

Next thing he knew he was almost trampled onto the floor, the only thing stopping him was his partner, who's name he still didn't know. Hugging her back, proud of himself for getting her out without incident he grinned, "You did great with the ribbons!" He exclaimed, his voice higher than normal. "Sorry if I got your confused at the last turn, I didn't know how else to get you to go straight." He replied frowning a bit.

"What's your name anyway?" He asked, putting his wand back into his pocket and looking at the older student.

"I did great?" Juniper blushed a little. "Thanks. That was really clever with the blue and bronze sparks at the end," she added with a grin. Following the younger boy's lead, she stowed her wand in her pocket, unable to stop grinning. She probably looked like an idiot with that foolish grin plastered on her face, but she could not help it.

"Oh, my name's Juniper. What's yours?" Juniper continued to beam at the boy. She would be absolutely fine if she never ever ever ever ever went into a maze ever again. "That made me a bit hungry, don't you agree?"

Oh, food. Glorious food. Perhaps she could drag him toward the great hall while they introduced themselves properly. That was a brilliant idea. Juniper began edging toward the door, hoping that the little boy would get the hint. Surely he would be hungry, too. Boys ate much more than girls did, in Juniper's experience, and he was a growing little boy. He needed his nutrition!

William grinned as Juniper grinned, knowing they probably looked foolish. Nodding his head eagerly he agreed, "Yes food, good idea!" He replied, edging towards the door with he. "I'm William Cullack by the way." He added as he walked towards the glorious, magnificent door which led to their true freedom. He didn't want to admit how hungry he was, especially how he had managed to steal a light snack of greens.

With a small skip to his step and a pat on his back he continued to grin widely as he made it to the door. "You'll have to lead the way, this place is so confusing for me." He stated blushing a bit.
