You enter the room with your partner. Suddenly the lights go out and you feel something strange, like magic and hear slight popping noises. When the lights come back on, you can no longer see the exit, the desks are gone and it appears the classroom got bigger, but you cant really tell because your in the middle of a maze! Your hear Professor Pierce's voice from... somewhere.

"Upper years, you are in the middle of a moderately complicated maze, your partner is on the outside with a map which has two dots on it, each representing one of you. There are several exits to my maze, your goal is to find the one your partner is standing at. The catch is, you must communicate silently. For example, if you come to a fork, send up the word 'Left?' or 'Right?' and your partner will respond with sparks, green for 'yes' and red for 'no'. When you find your partner, when you do, you may leave. Begin."

OOC: This is your homework. Points are given for creative RPing and success with the spells. After getting out of the maze, PM me your user name, user number, house and character name. If you dont have a partner, pretend you do. Though it will be easier to RP if you have someone to RP with, so try and find one

Hannah saw bright green letters overhead reading, "Straight?" Hmm. She looked down at the map. Nope. He needed to turn right here, actually. What colors go with red? she thought, pondering. "Firsitan!" she said aloud, making red and silver sparks appear. I hope he gets that that means no... she thought. Working with her brother was helpful since they knew each other so well; he totally got that it was her with her beautiful color combination sparks. We're so gonna own this.

Green sparks in the air, jolted her out of her thoughts. The color of the sparks meant that her guess had been right. And she indeed needed to go left. Taking a deep breath in, Vanessa continued along the path, away from the fork in the left direction, hoping, or maybe praying, that she would be getting near an exit, and she could finally get out.
She walked for about 3 to 4 minutes, finding it a little strange that she was walking for so long. She wasn't going deeper into the maze was she. But then she came to another fork. But she kind of recognised it, for there was a bunch of brances on the floor, where she'd fallen into the size of the maze. Had she been here already? Pointing her wand up in the air, she cast Risonda, silently twice. The first time the ribbons spelling right and the second time the ribbons spelling Haven't I been here before?

Heidi looked up and saw the ribbons. She tilted her head to the side and wondered why she would ask. She looked down at the map and realized she told Vanessa left, Heidi's left, which meant Vanessa was going the wrong way. "Oh my goodness," she said. "I told her the wrong way," she pointed her wand, thought Firstian, and then did it again. She looked down at the map, and saw that Vanessa was going to ask her again what direction she needed to go. We're almost there, just a little bit more she said under her breathe.

Blue and green. That means yes. He turned to find a very long, straight stretch that ended in a "T" with 2 ways to turn. He walked for 3 or 4 minutes before he got there. Hmm. She should find her way from there, Jake thought, his heart going double speed from the excitement of getting it right. Just to make sure, and to prove to himself he could do it, Jake pointed his wand towards the exit in from of him.

"Firsitan!" he recited, thinking purple. And out Purple sparks came, illuminating the exit. But-

WHAM!

"Oomph!" Jake had done it again, got carried away with the middle sound so that his spell had become stronger than him and blasted him backwards onto the floor. Momentarily stunned, Jake then came over in a total giggling fit, for no apparent reason.

Just laughing away...

Turning the corner to the right, he quickened his speed, exhilarated by the prospect of almost being done with this maze and there he saw her. A small girl from Hufflepuff checking the map and looking for his arrival from the maze.

"W-" he was about to speak, but then realized they ought to hold off on speaking until out of the Transfiguration classroom. Casting one more 'Risona' charm for good measure, he made the ribbon form the words:

'We did it!! Shall we depart into the corridor then?'

Twilight looked up and saw his ribbon. She blushed and smiled shyly and then she whispered "Firsitan" and thought green real hard. Her wand shot out emerald green sparks.

Still blushing she slowly turned her small body with her very long hair following and proceeded to lead him out of the room. She was relieved that they had actually made it in spite of the smudged map.

Don’t you know that you’re toxic." He again realized what that he was singing out loud again and flushed, hoping no one heard him.

Finally he saw...was that a rainbow? He raised his left eyebrow in confusion, guessing that he was correct. He took the left fork and continued on humming Toxic.

Finally he got to another wall, that had a right passage and a left passage. He thought for a moment, said "Risona," and sent up the word:

'Right?'

He patiently waited for Allie, hoping they would be done before he completely ruined his reputation as the bad boy by singing old pop songs by Briteny Spears.

She was trying to keep her mind on the task in hand and not on other things ahh she shook her head and then she was thinking about what was the quickest route to take but she couldn't find one, then she spotted the ribbon she looked at the map and then said "Firsitan" and thought about the colour aquamarine she sent the sparks up in the air and hoped that this would be over soon.

Tobi wasn’t moving. He wasn’t moving! Aggie shook the paper in frustration. “Ughhh! Move! Get Moving!” she even nudged Dot Tobi with her finger as if to push him along. In response, Dot Tobi started bouncing around and shaking as if he was throwing a hissy fit. Aggie could almost imagine him yelling at her to stop pushing him around. "Well, then move!" she told Dot Tobi. "If you're late for lunch now, it's all your fault for not moving."

A moment later he started moving again. “Finally,” she sighed watching him go back the way he had come. He came to another fork and Aggie looked up.

Lef.

For once, Tobi was right, even if his spelling was wrong. “Firsitan.” Green spark shot out of the end of her wand.

She looked down again. Now that she had the map the right way up, she was certain he’d get out of the maze soon. Hopefully by then, his anger (which she was certain he’d be) would have abated somewhat. If not, well, Aggie’d find out if she or he were the faster runner.

Shana felt really stupid and started hitting herself on the head her feet were killing,so she sat down and crossed her legs.She put her hands on her knee's and put her head on her hands.She sighed then looked up to the sky just in time to see the ribbon Evangeline.She gripped her wand and looked around the room for a while,She took another sigh and waved her wand in the air.Firsitan! She said quietly and started thinking Green.

He didn't know who she was, having only met er briefly before the lights went out but if she was anything like him she'd be freaking out soon if she didn't get out quickly.

Looking up as he watched her small dot hit another fork in the road he quickly calculated where to send her. There were now two exits close to her dot but one had three fork where the other had two. The one she was closest too had the two, which was good for her and him. "Firstian!" He said loudly, jabbing his wand in the air and thinking the color green again. Green sparks shot up in the air, but suddenly stop, black smoke erupting out of his wand and gathering around him. Sputtering and coughing he waved his arm to clear the smoke, black soot now on his clothes and hair before shaking his head.

Flinching as he cleaned his wand and again said, "Firstian!" in a louder voice green sparks once again shooting out of his wand high above the maze. Smoke still surrounded him but it wasn't as bad as before. Coughing once more into his hand he watched the sparks continue to sparkle out of his wand.

At least it hadn't exploded on him.

Hey look Aggie, two in a row without giving me a more festive colour!

Or maybe purple had been some secret code for, "I have to go to the loo, be back in ten," but she was still there so that wasn't it. No, there was no point in trying to figure out what the purple had been for, except possibly to help him achieve a whole new level of frustration (which it had done in spectacular measure); Tobi didn't understand girls when they communicated with words, much less with colours.

Tobi took the left turn and took off down the path with greater haste than before. Maybe it was because he was in a greater rush to get out and demand of Aggie just how he had ended up at a dead end.

In exactly 63 very quick paces, Tobi came to another T intersection.

Right? "Risona!" He pointed his wand skyward again.

R1GH7? the ribbon formed.

Well that's new...

Heidi looked down at the map, and sure enough there were three ways Vanessa could go. With her finger, Heidi traced each direction to see which one Vanessa should take. Heidi then noticed that if she took the one in the middle, that path would lead straight to her. Heidi raised her wand, said the spell and saw green sparks come out. She then did it again, and more green sparks came out, this time darker. She looked down at the map and saw Vanessa's dot moving down the center. Any minute now, she would come face to face with her.

Green sparks shot up in the air, but suddenly stop, black smoke erupting out of his wand and gathering around him. Sputtering and coughing he waved his arm to clear the smoke, black soot now on his clothes and hair before shaking his head.

Flinching as he cleaned his wand and again said, "Firstian!" in a louder voice green sparks once again shooting out of his wand high above the maze. Smoke still surrounded him but it wasn't as bad as before. Coughing once more into his hand he watched the sparks continue to sparkle out of his wand.

At least it hadn't exploded on him.

Oh no oh no oh no oh no. Juniper's eyes widened as she stared up into the air and saw green sparks accompanied by an enormous cloud of black smoke. This was bad. This was very bad. Juniper gripped her wand tightly and sprinted down the left fork. Her partner was in trouble, she was sure of it. Poor little boy... hopefully the smoke would not smother him or anything bad like that.

There. Another fork. Juniper raised her wand. "Risona," she whispered, concentrating hard on the word right? and closing her eyes to help herself concentrate. After what felt like hours but was probably only about two seconds, Juniper squinted above her head. There was ribbon there, all right, and a lot of it. But what on earth did it say?

Staring at it with a small frown on her face, Juniper tried to decipher what she had written. It sort of looked like "right"... in very, very sloppy handwriting. Juniper sighed. Perhaps it would have turned out more legible if she had left her eyes open while casting the spell. But only perhaps. Juniper moved her gaze away from the sloppy "right?" and waited for a response from her partner.

"Firsitan... green..." Jake muttered, pointing his wand up again, saying the name of the colour because he didn't want to muck it up when they were this close to the end.

WOOOOO!!!!! GREEN SPARKS!!!!!

She should find her way from there, Jake thought, his heart going double speed from the excitement of getting it right. Just to make sure, and to prove to himself he could do it, Jake pointed his wand towards the exit in from of him.

"Firsitan!" he recited, thinking purple. And out Purple sparks came, illuminating the exit. But-

WHAM!

"Oomph!" Jake had done it again, got carried away with the middle sound so that his spell had become stronger than him and blasted him backwards onto the floor. Momentarily stunned, Jake then came over in a total giggling fit, for no apparent reason.

Just laughing away...

Taking the second path, Liz follows it. After about 10 steps, she spots another path going to the left. She peeks out and sees purple sparks go up right in front of her!

"Yeah!" she cheers. She runs to the young Hufflepuff boy, and starts jumping up and down. "That was so fun! You did a great job. I was worried at first, but you managed to figure out the spell!"

Even if Evangeline had decided not long ago not to ask Shana whether or not the exit was still far too away, because it'd be a waste of her time, but now she found herself really wanting to know. From only seeing the high walls of the maze and only being to communicate through ribbons and sparks, Evangeline was feeling a bit claustrophobic.

She saw the green sparks Shana sent, indicating she should turn left, but she didn't move from where she was standing, repeating the Risona spell once more. This time, the ribbon read: 'Is the exit still long? I'm tired.'

Waving his arms around to try and see once the smoke started dissapearing he looked down and frowned. She was now very close to the exit, though the appeared to be a blank space on the map in front of it. Quirking an eyebrow he ran his hand over the map, trying to dislodge the annoying white splotch of something that didn't go away. Okay he thought frowning. Now he had to get her to go to the right, down the left again and straight to the right. There, if his eyesight was back to normal was another for, this one would lead to the end and the exit. His eyes burned from the smoke but he shook it off concentrating hard on his next move.

He looked up and finally saw the ribbon from his partner. At first he thought the one to the left of him was hers but now seeing it close to the edge he knew otherwise. He frowned, seeing the lopsided looking right? in the center of it. He smiled, at least they were on the same page he thought nodding. He stopped once he realized she had no clue he was nodding and stopped biting his lip. Now hopefully he could do the spell again without backfiring, quite frankly black smoke hurt.

Knowing what he had to do he raised his wand in the air and coughed once before shouting, "Firstian!" and thinking the color green once more. Yes right was the right way to go. Green sparks flew into the air high above him, his little face scrunched up in concentration. If his eyes didn't stop burning he'd have to go to the nurse and quite frankly he didn't want that.
