Twilight marched back into the firing room. Professor Pierce had given her more hope. She grabbed the goggles and followed the directions on the parchment again. SHe pointed her wand at the target and said determined: "Shrowan!"

To her amazement one arrow shot out of her wand and hit below the target. She was so happy she could have danced all over the room and sang. She would definitely come back and practice. She then remembered class and hurried off.

It wasn't that Cela was bored-- Okay, maybe she was a little bored-- but even so it wouldn't have been her first choice to come up here to entertain herself. The thing was, Cela wasn't entirely sure that the firing range would be available next term, so why not get in some practice while she could?

She marched into the room, determined to enjoy herself. Mmm. She shoulda brought candy. Cela put on the goggles and fixed her hair into pigtails with her pink ribbon. That done she figured that that protectiony spell would be a good thing. Not that anyone else was here or anything but there were sharp, pointy arrows about to be flung wildly around.

"Impiriano!" Celandine smiled to herself at the pretty blue aura and did a little spin on one foot before half-skipping to the centre of the room and pointing her wand dramatically at the target.

"Shrowan!" Celandine flicked her wrist and an arrow shot out. How cool was it that she could conjure arrows? Better not use it at a quidditch match though, since that was illegal and all. The arrow just missed the bullseye and Celandine decided to go again, "Shrowan!"

Practice makes perfect right?

Copernicus poked his head through the door and spotted Celandine. "Cel... hey. Can I come in here? Or will you... tie me up with ribbons and shoot me with an arrow?" He smiled wanly and hid as much of his body behind the door as possible.

Cela turned around, still brandishing her wand. She blinked a few times behind the safety goggles and slowly lowered her wand. She tugged on one of her hair ribbons self-consciously, "Of course you... I..." Cela placed her free hand on her hip and musingly scratched her chin with her wand, "And why would I want to do that?"

Cela chewed on her bottom lip for a moment, her mind swimming with a whole bunch of conflicting thoughts. Stargazing... tree-climbing... History of Magic class... not being friends...

She sniffed and turned back to the targets, shooting off an arrow unerringly at the bullseye of the centre target, "Shrowan!" The blue-aura shield still glowed around her and Cela wondered if it was zap proof. She swallowed and ventured in a tone that was slightly guarded and would have been deceptively nonchalant to most, "Did you come to practice your conjuring too?"

"Because I was a prat, of course," he straightened and came through the door. "But no. I should have guessed that Miss Celandine Toussaint would not attack me simply because I'm a prat. If that were the case, most of us would have been reduced to smoking dust long ago," he offered his hands out in front of him feebly, as if to show how disarmed he truly was.

"Actually, I did NOT come here to practice. I came to ask you to walk with me. Anywhere. Well, not outside, probably, because we don't have a lot of luck with trees, but inside. Will you?"

Cela listened to all of this and turned around slowly, flicking her wand, "Finite." Now blue-aura free, Cela slowly took the goggles off and untied the ribbons in her hair, letting it fall loose for a moment before fixing it into a messy bun with her wand shoved through the centre.

"I couldn't attack you regardess." Cela told him quietly before a mischievious twinkle appeared in her eyes, "Unless it were in a duel." She nodded to him and put the goggles away, making a slight face at his mention of trees. Clearly his idea of luck was not the same as hers.

"I will." She nodded and walked over to him somewhat hesitantly.

"But if we dueled, I'd beat you," he had to smile a bit in response to her expression. Little troublemaker, she was. "So..." Ah, the awkward bit. She had the irrepressible aura of a person who should have their hand held, but he couldn't do that. Couldn't offer his arm, because of the electricy-shocky thing.

He finally held the door. His father might be appalled at his lack of manners, but his father had never provided rules on what to do if you're cursed to be a sparkplug! "Be honest... you considered what I'd look like tied in pink ribbons just now, didn't you?"

Water Balloon Fight!


Professor Pierce has put tgether a little water balloon fight as homework for her class. There are barriers and other things to hid behind, several faucets on the walls and extra water balloons in the corners. Those who earned water balloons in class will be able to fill their balloons before the fight begins and will be allowed to throw them at other players as they run to grab and fill their own balloons. Professor Pierce will tell you when it is time for everyone to grab their balloons.

OOC:This will be run like the Quidditch game in the games forum of the site. Please read the rules below before posting in this thread.

Scoring/Points

A hit to a fellow house member: 1 point
A hit to another house: 2 points.

Rules

1. Never edit. Editting voids the post, making your play invalid and subsequent scores.
2. No double posting, someone ELSE must make your balloon hit, you cant make your own hit/miss etc.
3. You may post EITHER a move or a result in your post, never both.

How to Play

Moves

This game operates using 'moves' and 'results', so it's crucial that you understand what they are.

A move is an action by a player.

There's a twist to it though.

When you try to throw a balloon, there's no guarantee that it will hit. It could miss, be dodged or hit.

You must post your character throwing his/her balloon at someone specific (or a specific house) but NOT post that it hits, misses etc.

Examples of correct moves are:

1. Alex throws her balloon at Rave!
2. Alex throws her ballooon at a Slytherin student!

A result is the outcome of a move.

The results of the move are determined by the next person to post.

Possible results for the examples of moves above are:

1. Alex's balloon hits Rave and soaks her!
2. Rave dodges the balloon, wow close one!
3. Rave throws a balloon back, but gets hit with Alex's!
4. Danni throws herself in front of Rave and blocks the shot, getting soaked herself!
5. Danni throws the balloon but it misses and hits the floor instead.

Just to include some, examples of incorrect moves are:

1. Alex throws her balloon at Rave and soaks her!
2. Rave tosses a balloon Danni's was but it misses.
3. Danni thows her balloon at Alex who catches it.

These kinds of moves predict the future. They're not allowed.

So if you're posting a move, make sure you post your move without the result. If you are posting a result, post the balloon hitting, missing or something like that.

IMPORTANT:
1. When you throw a balloon make sure you post who (or what house) you are throwing at.

2. If you weren't in class, just join in anyway

"Alright everyone, grab a balloon!" Alex called after filling the balloons for the students who had earned them in class. "Go for it!"

OOC:
Students who did not earn balloons during class must post at least once going to grab and fill their balloons.

Students who DID earn balloons may begin throwing right away.

Anyone may post results at any time.

Tobi shrugged. He had one lonely water balloon, and you know what? He was a 7th year with the term oh so close to being over. He hurled the lonely water balloon at his professor with an evil grin. You only live, and die, once.

While Tobi was distracted, Cela threw her balloon at him.

Copernicus made a mad dash across the floor for a water balloon. Maybe he could get one before anyone was looking.

Ohhh, Anna had won two balloons in class, so she was all set to go as far as beginning her attacks. She only had two shots, though, so she better use them well. Anna darted into a dark corner, getting ready to stalk out another player and hit them head on with a water balloon. Ohhh, Celandine Toussaint. Spotting her hurling a balloon at Tobi, Anna raised her hand and sent one of her balloons flying through the air toward Ravenclaw's Cela.

Cela watched as Tobi's balloon hit his Head of House. Bad form Tobi! Cela would never toss a balloon at her head of house, would she?

Copernicus laughed in delight as Cela's balloon hit Tobi Avalon, soaking across the front of his shirt. His own balloon was almost full.

Oh man! Tobi was soaked as he ran to get a new balloon, at least Anna's ballon hit Cela too bad for Cela though.

Copernicus finally had a full balloon, which he lobbed gently at Anna. Hey... he wasn't about to hit another Ravenclaw!

Cela let out a shriek as Anna's balloon hit her.

Tobi's balloon had filled pretty quickly. thank goodness! he tried to tie it off...

SNAP!

but it wasn't working out too well.

Cela let out a little whoop as Copernicus hit Anna with his balloon, and she readied her own.

Anna threw back her head and giggled as Copernicus' balloon hit her square on. She turned around and glared evilly at him before running off into another direction. Hmm...who should her next victim be? Oh, yes, of course. An eye for an eye. She raised her hand and tossed her other balloon in Copernicus' direction. Ohh, this game was tons of fun! They'd be soaked soon, but it was all worth it!

"Too bad there aren't any Hufflepuffs in here!" Cope called to Cela, inching her way to keep an eye on her. He swung around to fill another balloon at the faucet.

FINALLY! Tobi got his balloon tied off and hurled it at Kettleburn.

Cela let out a war cry as she tossed her next balloon at the closest Gryffindor.

Qaz had one blue balloon from class. Surveying the targets, she took aim and threw with all her might at Anna Greingoth.
