| | The Firing Room The instructions on the door read as followed, Quote:
For homework you will have three shots at the target, the better the shots**, the more points! As a bonus, after your homework is done, I will leave the firing range open for the rest of term! Feel free to come in and practice the spell, or any other spells, on the targets.
Please remember to place the protective spell on yourself before you start firing arrows!
-Professor Pierce
Inside was a large room with a long table against one wall, and a bunch of targets on the oposite wall. On the table were safety glasses and parchments explaining how to cast the protection spell and proper safety in the Firing Room.
OOC: **= 'Better shots' means, like the previous homework, will be graded on creativity and success with the spell.
For this particular homework, it will be due in 4 days instead of the normal week. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Bramble "Bram" Wyatt Lennox Graduated | ThunderPUFF | Whoodley | MRD&LKD | Graphics Queen | Tristalen | Mrs. A | Hunny Bun Maddox smiled and walked into the fireing room. He could tell alot of people were already in here trying to get their homework done. He had a feeling he would have a slight advantage, but he was going to try his best to pretend that he wasnt as good as he really is. He grabbed a pair of the safety glasses and put them on. He was sure that they made him look even hotter then he already was...not. Maddox pulled out his wand and with a circular motion over himself said, "Impiriano." 'Safety first children.' He grinned as he thought to himself.
Mads took a deep breath, and closed his eyes. This was how he focused when he was performing practical task's like these. They were always fun for him. A challenge. Once he was ready, he pulled his wand right between his eyes. He wanted to get it directly into the center of the target. Once he was sure that he would be sucessful, he straightened his arm out infront of him and yelled, "Shrowan!" He watched as the arrow wizzed out of his wand with such a force, that once it hit the target, the arrow went half way through it, as well as directly through the bullseye. He shrugged and said to himself, "Hmm. Not bad."
For his second shot, he wanted to get...creative. He again closed his eyes, this time pondering what he could do. Then suddenly, the idea of one of his favorite dance moves flickered into his mind. He smirked and slowly opened his eyes. He took off his leather cloak to give himself more range of motion, and he didnt want to mess it up. He took a giant step to the left and got into position. Now he was doing a hand stand on one arm. He flipped to where his body was in an arch. As soon as he did so he yelled, "Shrowan!" As soon as the word was out of his mouth and the arrow was out of the tip of his wand he fell to the ground, with a smirk of course. He quickly stood up to see that, not only had he got it in the bullseye, but he had split the other arrow in half. He smirked and spoke out loud to himself, "Impressive, Darcy."
Mads then tried to think of something else that would be jsut as challenging. He closed his eyes again, it seriousy did help him think. Then after a moment he got an idea. He decided to make the target move, but still stay in the spot it was in. He sent a charm at the target that would make it move in a circular motion but still stay in its spot. Once it was moving, he took a deep breath, and watched as the target moved. It revolved twice, he took a deep breath and just as it was starting to revolve for the third time he yelled, "Shrowan!" He watched, in what seemed like slow motion, as the arrow flew across the long distance between himself and the target. As soon as it hit He laughed with delight. The arrow went in the middle again. It was a little off to the side of the first arrow that was split by the second arrow, but he still got it in the middle.
Maddox was thoroughly delighted with himself. He conqured another challenge. He grabbed his leather cloak from the ground, as well as his bag, and placed his wand back in its holster on his leg, and put the goggles back on the table. He smiled and walked out the door with a new confidence.

Via entered the firing range. They really have a great lesson in transfiguration and she's loving it. She looked at the room and saw at across her the targets, behind her is the long table where safety glasses are on and papers. Curious what the papers are Via read it and she found out it was an instruction. She read it again so she would get the spells right. She grabbed a safety glass for herself and put it on. She still needed to cast the protection spell on herself to avoid being hurt just incase she wouldn't be successful with her aims. Reading the paper again, it's Impiriano, she thought. "impiriano," Via said while moving her wand in a circular motion. Suddenly there's a glow and she felt a protective barrier had formed, a blue one.
Glancing at the paper again, she would have to do a jabbing movement for her aims while casting the Shrowan spell. She only had three aims and she needed to make all the aims hit the bulls eye. Composing herself for her first aim. Via raised her wand and aimed for the main target. "I can do this," she said. Other students were inside and she didn't want to be embarrassed. She waited for a moment till she was ready.
She jabbed her wand at the target and said "Shrowan," in her gentle yet louder than her normal voice. Via thought she would fail and she wouldn't be able to touch even just a part of the target but lucky her, she managed to hit the target. It wasn't a bulls eye though, but it was almost. She sighed, "that was close," she told herself. She would have to hit the target for this second aim.
AIming for her second one, she again jabbed her wand at her target, the bulls eye. "Shrowan," she again said. And then the arrow shoot out of her wand. Focusing on the bulls eye, the arrow hit the middle. I got it? she asked herself. She almost jumped but she had controlled herself. "Great job and now i needed this one to hit the target."
Now for her last try, i almost made it with the first try and made it with the second one,[/I][/B] she thought. The protective shield was still working. Pointing her wand at the target again, sighting the bulls eye, she focused her attention on hitting her target. "Shrowan," she said jabbing her wand at the target. There... it hit the bulls eye and there's no doubt about it. She made it again. Although she only had two out of three. "That's alright," she murmured and smiled, "i almost hit it at the first try."

Though Evangeline loved homework and the more theoretical the better, it was rather nice to have a practical homework once in a while. Especially in such subjects like Tranfiguration and Charms, where you really needed to practise the spell in order to .. well, learn it!
She got her wand out of her pocket and pointed it at herself. She needed the protection spell on her, after all. Hehe. "Impiriano." She said firmly, pointing her wand at herself, glad to see the blue aura appear around her. YAY! She was protected now. At least, the glowness appeared to be strong enough. After she had done that, the grabbed a pair of protective glasses and put them on.
Time to practise the other spell then. Oh goodness.
Standing a couple yards away from the target, Evangeline clutched firmly at her wand and remembered what the Professor had taught them in class. In class, where her attempt to shoot an arrow at the target infront of her hadn't .. well, go that well. "Shrowan!" She said with confidence at the same time she jabbed her wand at the target. An arrow shot from the tip of her wand and, rather slowly and wiggly, flew to ... ACK! To the wrong target. Bleh. At least, it had hit something. Hehe.
Even if it had fallen down after.
Okay. She still had two more attempts. This time, she fixed the target closely, even closing one eye to aim better and repeated the spell. "Shrowan!" She repeated, alongside with the jabbing gesture.
This time, she happily watched as the arrow went to hit to bullseye. Barely, yes. But it still hit it! WOOHOOO!!!
Alright then, one last try. And this, she'd hit it and it wouldn't fall down .. nor miss the wall by an inch. Nuh huh. "Shrowan!" Evangeline said for the third time as she jabbed her wand at the target. An arrow flew out of her wand and onto the target, staying a couple inches away of the target's edge. EEEEEEEEE!!! "Yesh!" She squealed with a tiny bounce, pocketing her wand again and moving out of the room now that her homework was done. Hehe.

Qaz entered and read the instructions. Okay, this should be too tough, but she’d much prefer a real bow to shooting arrows out of her wand. Nevertheless, it was another skill to be conquered. So, she grabbed a pair or protective glass, not the most attractive, but they should do the trick.
Now, the protective spell. This one was knew to her, so she had to concentrate. Wand in a circular motion…now that’s a bit awkward. Qaz went through the movement several times, until it felt natural. Once again with the wand and ‘Impiriano.’ Alrighty., a neat Ravie blue aura.
Time to attack the poor defenseless targets. Qaz stood in her shooting stance…sideways, looking down her wand arm at the target. A few dry runs for good measure……jab, jab, jab. Too much of this and I’ll have tennis elbow, she thought. ‘Better get to the real thing before I wear my arm out.'
Qaz took careful aim at the bullseye want…point…jab…’Shro-wan’ Arrow away…and hit the outer most ring on the top left. Drat. Maybe I jerked at the end of the jab.
Try number two. Stand steady. Aim down my arm…jab…’Shro-wan’ The arrow erupted from her wand once again, but it seemed to lack power and barely hit the bottom of the target.
Qaz was feeling a bit frustrated. She said under her breath, ‘Okay, you can do this. You are the bow. Just stand, aim and (jab) SHRO-wan!’ This time the arrow emerged with enough power and flew straighter than before, but it didn’t hit the bullseye. Upon closer inspection, it was a centimeter outside the bulleye. Not good enough for Qaz. In frustration, she grabbed her three arrows from the target, returned the protective glass and left, before she said or did something that she’d regret.

Ludo was actually doing well at this. His aim had become straighter and he hit the target with almost every shot. That was...until Liz had entered the room and the arrow he'd cast hit the wall behind the target.
He smiled at her in case she was watching, but didn't want to disturb her here. This didn't seem like the place to socialize.
He was feeling the need to wrap things up, so Ludo decided to take three final shots.
He cleared his mind and focused on the incantation, and took aim with his wand. "Shrowan!" he thought, and the arrow burst forth. To Ludo's delight it hit the bull's eye. Smiling, he made a small celebratroy motion.
He brought his wand back to firing stance. Second shot. "Shrowan." he thought, and once more the arrow flew from the wand tip. Perhaps he shouldn't have celebrated, for the wand missed the bull's eye and stuck in the outermost ring. "Ok, this proves you're not a marksman 100% of the time, Ludo." he thought.
One more shot; Ludo hoped he could end on a good note. He took a breath and emptied his mind completely. His eyes locked on the target....bull's eye...bull's eye. His wand point aligned correctly. "Shrowan!" he thought, forcefully. The arrow appeared...flew...CRACK!
Ludo's jaw dropped. The third arrow hummed as it came to rest. It had hit the bull's eye...and had gone through his first arrow to arrive there.
Eyes wide Ludo whispered to himself...."Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow...yesss!"
Incredible as it was, Ludo felt very tired. He'd had enough of arrows and targets for one day. He made his way to the door and lifted the shield charm protecting him and headed out into the corridor.

Abby walks into the firing room. It’s set up like a shooting gallery. There are several targets at the far end of the room, and a line has been painted on the floor near a table, which is against another wall. Abby imagines that’s where she’s supposed to stand. Abby walks over and picks up one of the parchments. Quote:
For homework you will have three shots at the target, the better the shots**, the more points! As a bonus, after your homework is done, I will leave the firing range open for the rest of term! Feel free to come in and practice the spell, or any other spells, on the targets.
Please remember to place the protective spell on yourself before you start firing arrows!
-Professor Pierce
Abby takes out her wand, clears her mind, moves it in a circular direction, and says Impiriano over and over in her mind. A tingly sensation starts in her fingers and toes. It travels all over her body. That should take care of the protective charm. Now I need to pick a target. Abby walks across the room and examines the targets. They all look about the same. Some seem to have more holes than others. She tries to make sure she finds one that hasn’t been used too much. I want Professor Pierce to be able to know the holes in the target are mine. Abby smiles. She finds a target that is pristine. This is the one I want.
Abby walks back behind the line. She puts on a pair of protective glasses. I guess around the sixth or seventh year we start practicing without protective glasses and spells. I mean you aren’t going to have these things if you find yourself in the middle of a fight. Abby takes out her wand, and points it at one of the targets. She practices her wand movement a couple of times. Abby then points her wand at the target she’s chosen, makes a jabbing movement, and says “Shrowan!’ An arrow flies out the tip of her wand. It hits the target right in the center of the bull’s eye. Abby lets out a cheer under her breath. One down, two more to go.
She assumes the position again. Abby performs a jabbing movement, but instead of saying the incantation out loud, she clears her mind, and says Shrowan over and over again in her mind. Another arrow shoots out of the tip of her wand. It flies across the room and hits the target on the outer part of the yellow bull’s eye. Darn that arrow didn’t hit the target dead center like the first one. I’d better say the incantation out loud for the last try. Apparently I need more practice with my silent charms. One more try, let’s see if I can make another bull’s eye. Abby points her wand dead center of the target. She makes another jabbing movement, and says “Shrowan!” loud and clear. A long arrow flies out of the tip of her wand. It flies across the room and hits the yellow area of the target. It isn’t a second bull’s eye, but the arrow is closer to the first one than her second attempt was.
Abby takes a picture of her three tries to turn into Professor Pierce. Then Abby takes the wand out of the target. They disappear in her hand. Now it’s ready for the next person to use. Abby walks back to the table, takes off her protective glasses and places them back in the basket. She removes the protective charm, gathers her stuff up, and leaves.

Anna stopped at the doorway to the Firing Room and read the instructions to herself, taking great care to make sure she had a clear understanding as to what she was supposed to do. It sounded simple enough, though. She was to come in, equip herself with the proper safety equipment, cast the protection spell around herself, and then work on firing an arrow from her wand. She'd done this before, and it hadn't seemed too difficult. Then again, that was during class, and Professor Pierce had been standing nearby giving the students clear directions. Anna was sure she could do it now, too. Anna nodded once, to no one in particular, and headed into the room.
The room was large, of course, with a long table against one wall and a number of targets lining the opposite wall. Anna slipped on a pair of safety glasses and then glanced over the parchment explaining the spell she'd use to protect herself. Hmm...move wand in a circular motion...Impiriana. "Alright, Cop," she said, turning towards her Ravenclaw friend and handing him a pair of goggles. "It says here to move our wands in a circular motion...and, erm, Impiriana is the incantation." Anna placed the parchment she'd been reading back onto the table, swished her wand in a circular motion, and then exclaimed, "Impiriana!" A blue sphere appeared around her, an indication that the spell had been successful.
Anna then approached the imaginary line she'd determined would be a good standing point to shoot her arrows. She lifted her wand and aimed it directly at a target close to the middle of the far wall. With a sharp jabbing motion, Anna called out, "Shrowan!" An arrow shot from her wand and sailed directly over the target she'd intended for it to go to. Oh, but of course. Sighing and rolling her eyes playfully at Copernicus, Anna raised her wand to try once again. "Shrowan!" she called out, moving her wand in a jabbing motion once again. An arrow shot from her wand and sailed right to the bulls-eye! She'd done it! Now, all she needed to do was hit that bulls-eye a few more times, and she'd be confident in her ability to perform the spell.

| Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee "This seems very ill advised," Copernicus thrust his goggles up his nose and pointed his wand at the target. Oh, wait. He'd forgotten the MOST important part. "Impiriana," he made a circle with his wand and watched the pulse of blue light. Now he felt much safer, and he was unlikely to accidentally shoot himself full in the face with the spell.
Still feeling flustered at the near accident, he thrust his wand in the direction of the target again. "Shrowan!" As in class, an arrow sprung from his wand and sped toward the bull's eye. Wow! What marksmanship! If only he'd ACTUALLY been aiming at that target!
He sighed and closed his eyes. Copernicus knew better than to shoot a spell all willy-nilly. His duelling coach would be ashamed. Drawing up his arm for balance, Copernicus aimed his wand arm at the RIGHT target. "Shrowan!" The arrow flew true this time.

Chris potter walked into the Firing room Professro Pierce had set up for the Transfiguration homework. He closed the door behind him and wlaked over to the table that had the instructions and the safety glasses. He put on the glasses and read over the instructions on how to perform the protective spell on himself. He pulled out his wand and moved it in a circular motion and said "Impiriana." he looked down to see the blues shield-like sphere covering him. "Good now im safe." he then walked over to the firing line and took aim at a target. "Ok 1,2,3." he took in a breath and said "Shrowan!" the arrow whistled out and thud. It it his the ring just outside of the bull's-eye.
He took aim again and said, "Shrowan!" this time more consentrated. He watched for a split second as the arrow flew through the air anf then bam! "Bull's-Eye!" he shouted excitedly.
For his third shot he wanted to do something memorable. He mustered all the concentration he could and took aim for literaly 5 mintues and then shouted "Shrowan!" the arrow zoomed faster than the other two and Crack! It had hit the dead center of the bull's-eye and had split the other arrow in half. "Professor pierce would have loved to see that." he smiled. he walked over to the table and followed the instructions to take off the spell and left his glasses and went on his way to lunch.

Anna glanced over at Copernicus and half-smiled at his "ill-advised" comment. He'd probably end up being a natural at this spell, though. Didn't he mention that he was involved in duelling lessons or something of that sort? If so, it's possible that he may have even known of "Shrowan" before it was even taught in class. It did seem to be sot-of a defensive spell, as well. Anna watched as Copernicus took aim and sent his first arrow sailing towards---the wrong target? Hmm. Darn, maybe he wasn't a natural. When he hit the bulls-eye on his second try, though, Anna knew he'd end up doing just fine. "Good job," she complimented. "Now if I can only get it to hit the correct spot once again..."
Anna lifted her wand and took aim once again, this tim concentrating on that bulls-eye with all her might. She readjusted her wand several times, thinking maybe she was either a little too far left, or a little too far right. When she was finally satisfied, she jabbed her wand forward and called out, "Shrowan!" The arrow shot from her wand and went right into the bulls-eye! "Whoa. Did I...did I...really hit it on the first try?" she asked, eyeing the spot on the target where her arrow had struck.

Camira rushed into the firing room. She couldn’t believe that she’d almost forgotten to do her homework. She quickly put her stuff down and grabbed some safety goggles from the table. Ugh. She couldn’t believe they had to wear these things. They were hideous.
Right. Time for the protection spell thingy. “Impiriana”, she said firmly, carefully making a circle with her wand. She grinned a bit as she saw the blue light. She could also feel the magic pulsing a bit around her. Good. Officially protected.
She stepped up to what looked about the right distance away from the target. Hmmm….it still seemed a bit far, but she didn’t want to make this too easy. She eyed the target for a couple of minutes, trying to get a clear picture of it in her mind. Finally, she thrust her wand in a sharp jab type motion, and uttered “Shrowan.” She watched the arrow come out of her wand and sail straight to the target. It didn’t hit the bullseye, but it hit the target at least. That was good enough for her.
It would be interesting to try with her eyes closed. Yes, she would try that next. She eyed the target longer this time, then closed her eyes and tried to picture it. She repeated this a few times until she could picture it almost exactly as it was with her eyes closed. Again, the same thrusting jab with her wand and “Shrowan”. She kept her eyes closed for a few seconds, giving it time to hit…or miss, depending on how good she’d been. Finally, with a type of anxious excitement, she opened them. Oh wow. A direct hit. She was a genius!
If she could do it with her eyes closed, she could definitely do it nonverbally. Yes, she would try that. She kept her eyes open this time, needing to put her full concentration on internal wording. She pointed her wand out in front of her, directly at the bullseye, and thought , ‘Shrowan. Shrowan. Shrowan’ quietly in her head. Then, she jabbed her wand and practically screamed ‘Shrowan’ in her head. She was pleased when the arrow shot out of her wand, but her face soon held horror instead of joy as her arrow seemed to take on a life of its own, shooting into walls, rebounding, and heading another direction. Oh God. What if it hit someone? “Oh my God, everyone look out please. Sorry about that.” It bounced around a bit more, slowly starting to waver until it fell lifelessly somewhere on the other side of the room. Not good. Not good at all. Perhaps she needed to stick to doing what the professor wanted.
She wanted three arrows in the target, so she decided to try one more time. This time, just normally. She pointed her wand, jabbed, and said “Shrowan”, much calmer than how she’d screamed it in her head. She watched as the arrow sailed through the air and hit the target, in the bullseye, but more to the left. She sighed, slightly disappointed. Why she could do it perfectly with her eyes closed and not with them open, she had no idea. Or maybe that one time had just been a fluke. Whatever. She could practice more later. For now, she was done. Time for food.

We'll just say that if I were in some real-life setting and not confined within a protected firing room in this school, I'm not sure I'd fare so well," she said. "Copernicus, didn't you say that you took some sort of duelling lessons? Wouldn't you be able to employ what you learned in your lessons to help you succeed with this spell?" As she talked, Anna aimed her wand once again, eyeing the wand tip's aim and trying to figure out if it would, indeed, hit the target. "Shrowan!" she called out, watching as an arrow shot from her wand once again. ...clearly, she'd been a little off in her aim.

He raised his wand and jabbed toward the bullseye. "Shrowan!" The arrow hit one of the middle circles. Not a killing shot, but certainly a maiming one. He was so ready for a break.

| YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Dominic finally made his way towards the firing room off of the Transfiguration Classroom. It really was not like him to forget to do his homework, nor even almost forget. But his excuse was that he had quite a bit on his mind lately and some of them including visions that he really wished to obscure. Right; firing. This ought to take his mind off of things, right? Pausing at the doorway, the fifth year read the instructions posted from them and then made his way across the large room where others were already firing spells to the long table against the wall. Picking up a pair of safety goggles, Dominic slipped them on so they rested on the bridge of his nose, not willing to think of how ridiculous he probably looked right now. Dominic Denton did not do glasses.
And now for the protection spell. "Savannah?" The fifth year turned to look around for the older, blue eyed Hufflepuff, hoping for clarification on this spell before he did something idiotic. He was decent in Transfiguration, but it was far from his best subject. "Says here," he held the parchment towards her, "we're supposed to point our wands at ourselves, moving them in a circular motion as we say the incantation of 'impiriana'." Dominic sighed quietly handing the parchment to her, as he drew a deep breath. Well, he was an OWL student and didn't that mean he should just try things to see if they worked? Hope for the best? How else was he supposed to pass those exams if he didn't . . . "Impiriana," Dom muttered clearly, while moving his wand in a circular motion, pointed at himself. And believe it or not, a blue orb type shape began to glow around him, meaning that the spell had been a success! Now onto the firing, but after Savannah was ready of course.

| Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight Grrrrrr!!!!! Stupid homework. It was his stupid little mind telling him it could wait, and then he'd noticed the date... stupid mind. Grrrrr...
Jake went over and shoved those goggle thingamies on, before trying to cast that spell and getting sorely frustrated when he didn't succeed th first 14 times. "Bloody-!" he exclaimed, giving it one last go.
Ok, it was up, working, and... yeah. Jake approached the line he was supposed to be firing from and tried to get rid of his frustration. "Shrowan," he said, aiming his wand.
The first arrow flew out of his wand and landed about 6 feet away. Jake breathed out of his nose reeeeeeeeeeeeealllyyyyy deeply, before aiming his wand and shouting "SHROWAN!!!!!" ARGH!!!!! Jake could have thrown down his wand in frustration... in fact... he would have, had he not been trying to keep hold of it [s]for deal life as the arrow shot out at a ferocious speed. Jake watched as it hit the utmost edge of the target, breaking a tad of and spinning up towards the ceiling, where it jammed. "Uhm... Okay..." Jake muttered. "One last chance."
Jake composed himself as he stood on the line and aimed his wand one final time for the homework. "Shrowan!" he cast, rying to imagine that this was a real situation and he had to hit the target.
Watching as the arrow zoomed through the air, Jake hoped for at least one hit, and there it was! It was nowhere near the bulls-eye, and it was the only one he'd managed to make hit the bulls-eye and without coming back off. "Okay..." he breathed, heading back to the table before removing the goggles and the protective spell, before exiting, a little less frustrated than before.

| Fortress of Brilliance ღ Mommy Quad Following her fellow Hufflepuff into the large room, Savannah gazed around, watching several other glowing students fire at targets. Looking forward again just in time to prevent herself from falling into the boy only slightly younger than her, an apologetic look crossed her features before she nodded to show she was focused and behind him - whichever he wanted to make sure of by addressing her. Grabbing a pair of safety goggles, Vannah slid them over her had and into place covering her eyes. "Sounds simple enough," Savannah commented, taking the parchment of instructions Dominic offered her and observed as he tried the protection spell first. As a blue light formed around Dom, the girl smiled brightly, setting the parchment back onto the table with one last glance. "Good job."
Taking one step to the side, and one back (which she was careful about,) Savannah drew her wand from the side pocket of her school bag, pointing it toward herself, she spoke clearly "Impiriano." while waving the wand in a circular motion. Positively beaming when the incantation worked and like the rest of the students in the room, she was surrounded by a blue orb. Now for arrow firing. "Want to go first?" Vannah asked, looking back to Dom and stepped closer to where she originally stood now that she was ready.

| YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers "Thank you," Dominic beamed back at the older Hufflepuff when she read over the parchment and took note of his protection spell. Once she did it herself, he sighed quietly when she suggested he go first. They had to hit the target thrice, right? Nothing too hard or complicated. After all - he played quidditch . . . he's caught a small golden ball with near invisible wings and micro fast speed before! Shooting at a target should be a cinch. But for some reason, the fifth year felt doubt in his stomach, especially being around someone more experienced magically. "I suppose so," he murmured, mentally trying to prepare himself for the firing spell. "Shrowan!"he exclaimed, jabbing his wand directly at target at the end of the firing range. Soaring through the air, the first arrow flew towards the target in almost perfect fashion, except for one minor detail. It fell just a few paces too short of the end goal and dropped to the ground. "Oops," his cheeks flushed a bit, shaking it off and decidedly trying once more. "Shrowan!" he called for the second time, this time putting just a tad more 'oomph' into his jab, as his golden eyes watched the arrow soar similarly to the first one. This one finally game to a halt once it reached the pad of its ending - the second ring from the middle. "Well better than the first one. Want to give it a try, Savannah?"

| Fortress of Brilliance ღ Mommy Quad Savannah nodded approvingly, not failing to notice Dominic looked abit flustered, maybe? She couldn't see why, he was doing well. His second try was brilliant, very close to the middle. Maybe this was another male pride thing, that not only would she never understand but she'd never want to understand. "Nice shot," nodding at the question, the seventh year lined herself up to be straight with the target on the otherside of the room. Gazing down at her feet for a minute, it almost reminded her of the baseball game she had played in over summer; having to make sure you were standing just right, except the difference was she wouldn't be hitting a ball.. instead of batting, she would be pitching! Good way to think of it.
Twirling her wand around in her palm, Savannah tightened her loose grip on it. "Shrowan!" Swiftly jabbing her wand straight ahead, as if her wand was a ball and she was going to throw it - which she made sure NOT to do, - the girl tilted her head to the side slightly, looking at the ending result of the arrow on the edge of the target. It had just barely missed the wall, fortunately. Relaxing abit may be of some help, Vannah mentally prodded herself. Letting Dom go up again, "Your turn."

| YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Well Dominic was a bit stunned when the seventh year hadn't blown him out of the waters with her skilled transfiguration work. Unless maybe this wasn't one of her strong subjects either? Regardless, he gave her a polite and encouraging nod, "Next time, you were close," he informed her casually, nodding again when she said it was his turn. Two shots done and they had three total to do for homework... One completely missed the wall and the second came close, but surely this third would be a bulls-eye, right?
Of course right.
One could hope, Dominic decided, as he carefully lined up his gaze perfectly with the middle of the target. There was no way he was going to miss this shot . . . it was like a 99% chance that he would make the shot, but naturally there was still that small 1% that said no. Yet Dominic couldn't help but try to stay with the positive as he gripped his wand loosely and jabbed the wand towards the target - straight ahead - as though poking the little stick right into the center of the bulls-eye. "Shrowan!" The fifth year exclaimed for the last time, as he waited for the result. Except he underestimated the center again and the arrow through straight towards his second arrow, landing itself in almost the exact same spot on the target board. Shrugging, he turned towards Vannah again, "Ah well, better luck next time. Guess archery just isn't my sport. Your turn. Two more chances..." he nodded, waiting for her to finish before he would head back to the common room to write up this report.

| Fortress of Brilliance ღ Mommy Quad "Right," Mumbled the seventeen year old, straightening up with a more relaxed grasp on her wand. Gazing directedly ahead to the target board, Savannah focused on getting it straight, jabbing not too lightly but not with too much pressure either, she was determined to make her goal of getting within the first three rings. Or if nothing else, within the designated colors! Being nervous wouldn't help any, Vannah knew. Taking a deep breath, she jabbed her wand towards the wall opposite her hoping for a better outcome this time. "Shrowan!" It hit a middle circle, definitely abit better than her first try. "One more," then she needed to complete Charms homework and stop by to see Pegasus.
Shifting only a little bit, Savannah stared at the target straight ahead of her. Not perfectly straight, but it was close enough. Raising her arm just a tiny bit, preparing to sort of flick the tip of her wand the otherway from where it faced towards her, the Hufflepuff waited a moment and then said very clearly, at an indoor level "Shrowan!" at the same time giving her wand a short, patient jab. The girl watched almost surprisedly when the arrow landed right outside of the center bulls-eye. It worked! "Hmm, I suppose we're done then." Savannah said, slipping her wand back into the pocket of her bag that hung at her side and then proceeded to take the protective eyewear off and put it away, too.

Lyra stepped into the firing room and walked over to a place in the room where she stood by herself. She wanted to make sure that she had little disruption. First thing was first, she wanted to make sure that she was well protected, just in case someone's arrow got out of hand. Impiriano!
She did the silent spell just because she was practicing to make sure that she could create the silent spells on her own. It was a hard thing to do, but practicing was always a good thing for one to make sure they got it right. She looked towards the target looked at exactly where she wanted the arrow to land. Shrowan!
She plunged her wand towards the bullseye as an arrow snapped out and landed just slightly to the side of where she wanted it to go. It was a mixture of concentration and determination that was going to get her arrow right where she wanted it. She raised her wand once again and jabbed it straight for the bulleyes. Shrowan!
Once again, an arrow flew out of the tip of her wand, but this time it landed straight in the bullseye, but slightly off centered. She had at least one more chance to get this right and if not, she would come back later to practice. Shrowan!
Finally the arrow landed exactly where she wanted it to be. She smiled, wanting to pat herself on the the back for a job well done but she needed to practice on her silent spells a little more. She picked up her things and exited the classroom and headed straight for the library.

Twilight came into the firing room. She wasn't in the best of moods. In class she hadn't been able t get the spell right. She was never going to get this right.
Thankfully it was empty so no one would see her when she made a fool of herself.
He got out her wand and swirled into the air pointing it towards the target and cried out "Shrowan!" Her wand shook and had flowers out of the tip instead that when she jerked up her wand in surprise it rained flowers all over the room.
She felt like crying. This was never going to work. Well she had better make her notes on her parchment. She sat down on the floor and put in her results.
She felt her eyes start to hurt.
Twilight got back up , she had to do this. Her grandfather always said all you needed to do was really want something and then keep trying until you got it done right. Then you kept doing it until you have perfected it. "Alohomora" she said. "Ooooops! Wrong spell" She could hear the lock in her bag locking itself up. "Shorwan" and her wand shot out three stars.
Now she could feel the tears filling her eyes up. 'This is terrible. She would never get this. She might as well pack up her bags and go home. Then she remembered in desperation that her Dad was out on International Ministry business and Grandfather wasn't home either. 'O I am just going to have to die of humiliation'
She then gave hr last attempt: "Shrowen!" Her wand shot out Chocolate frogs instead at the target. This was too much! She burst into tears and decided that she really needed to talk to her Professor, something was wrong.

Mariel walked into the firing room, excited to practice the spell yet anxious to be around so many novice magical archers. But she pushed aside that thought, confident that the protection spell that Professor Pierce taught them about would work sufficiently.
Glancing tentatively around at the other students, Mariel slowly made her way over to the table and picked up the parchment with the instructions on how to properly cast the protective spell. She had practiced it a few times before coming in this room as she had remembered the professor's instructions in class, but now that they'd be using arrows, she wanted to be sure she was doing it properly. Safety first!
Waving her wand in a circular motion around her, the Ravenclaw girl said, "Impiriano," and instantly a Ravenclaw blue aura appeared around her. She was certain it worked or else the aura would have faltered, so she grabbed a pair of safety glasses as well and put them on. Sure, she looked completely odd, but so did everyone else, so it was somewhat acceptable. Plus she was protected.
And now for the arrow-shooting spell. Mariel walked over and stood on the line facing the bulls-eyes. Making sure she was plenty far away from other students whose arrows might misfire - sure, she was protected, but she still didn't want any stray arrows flying at her to mess up her concentration - Mariel pointed her wand at the bulls-eye directly in front of her. This would be just like shooting quaffles in the goal. And that was totally fun and something she wasn't bad at either. Of course, the Ravenclaw girl would have to concentrate on the spell as well and not just think about quaffles or she was certain her spell would fail. On the other hand, she was able to perform the spell in class, there was no reason she couldn't do this spell now.
Imagining she was pounding that quaffle into the goal, Mariel forcefully jabbed her wand in the direction of the bulls-eye, and commanded, "Shrowan!" Apparently it was a little too forcefully, beacause although the arrow hit its intended mark, the force of the flying object caused the bullseye to fall from the wall along with the arrow still attached, yet broken from the impact.
Immediately donning a smug look as if to say she meant to do that, Mariel stepped over to the next available target. She would have picked up the original bulls-eye, but didn't want to step in range of anyone elses arrows, protective aura or not.
Okay, better lay off the Quidditch imagery. Taking a deep breath, Mariel again aimed her wand at the target. Jabbing it less forcefully this time, she commanded, "Shrowan!" Again the arrow hit its mark, at least the bulls-eye was still on the wall, though the arrow was slightly off-center.
Pleased with her progress, she nodded to herself as she took aim again. "Shrowan!" the Ravenclaw girl said for a third time as she jabbed her wand and watched the arrow hit direct center. Success! Grinning to herself, the thirteen year old put the safety glasses away and walked out of the room, wondering how long before the protective aura would go away.

Herminny walked into the firing room confident she could get this assignment done perfectly in no time. Herminny took out her wand and said, "impiriano", pointing the wand at herself for protection. Then Herminny gritted her teeth and picked up an arrow and said, "shrowan", the arrow headed right and completely missed the target, Herminny was mortified for she had come into the firing room thinking this would be easy and it certainly was not. Herminny picked up anther arrow and repated the incantation and this time the arrow hit the outer most side of the target and Herminny smiled thinking atleast I'm improving. Herminny took out another arrow and really concentrated on her want to make that arrow hit the target dead center and put all her power into it saying, "shrowan", she had done it she hit the target dead center. She jumped for joy, she was so happy she had hit the target right where she wanted to. She thought it would have been nice to hit the target dead on everytime but it would not have been such a rewarding experience that it had been working her way toward her goal.
