Grateful that Amanda was going to perform it slower,she nodded and watched very closely. It looked so easy,and yet she hadn't been able to get it. "Um...okay....I'll try it again." Getting back into position,Whit moved her wand in the right movements,as precise as she could get it. "Incarcerous." Just as she said it, the dummy was covered in ropes. "Yay! You seem to be a great teacher. Thanks." She was so proud of herself.

"Well thank you Whitney. I have picked up things from when I was tutored by former Slytherin Prefect Cassandra Trelawney. At least you don't have to be afraid of me." Amanda said with a slight chuckle. "Alright, since you've got down Incarcerous, I want you to demonstrate what I've taught you today on the dummies. For Expelliarmus, one of the dummies has a wand, so just work with that." She said, pocketing her wand and putting her hands behind her back. This was definately going to prove whether or not Whitney was able to follow her next lessons.

She smiled. "Yes it would be a shame to have a deal with a budget anyways," Paris said. She would die if her parents put her on a budget. Money burned a hole in her pocket and she never payed attention to how much she spent anyways. She was glad the girl wanted to help her duel that older boy who seemed to think that just because they were girls he had the upper hand. "Yes it does look like its going to be on like Donkey Kong." She as going to enjoy beating this boy and showing him that not all girls were sugar and spice. And Paris was anything but nice.

The evil grin spread across her face. "Because I am so good." She shot back at him. Her fingers drummed on the her wand that was in its holster strapped to her thigh. She used to keep it strapped at her side, but she wasn't fast pulling it out that way. She as faster with it being on her leg. "I suppose you should know who will be laying you flat on your back." She bowed to him. "Paris Greenwood." She offered as she walked over to a large open area away from everyone else. She looked at him. "Hit me with your best shot." She challenged.

Ossia had to laugh at Paris' response. "It was a figure of speech." she informed the girl. Not that her parents were made of money, she simply rarely used her own.


"Exaggerations do help the world go 'round."

She gave Tanjiro a flourishing bow, before following Paris to the open area. "And I am Ossia Nova."

((I just realized I've been rping with the name of my ministry char.....I usually use Lenae as my rp character. Sorrry....let's just...pretend I knew who I was this entire time. ><))

She nodded. "I know," She told the girl. She wasn't stupid, she was just playing along with the girl. She guessed that sort of humor was lost on Brits.

"So Tanjiro are you ready?" She asked. She maybe about to beat this boy, she didn't want to be rude about it.

Dominic entered the Dueling Arena slightly unsure of himself. Sure he knew that he had promised Winters a duel when they returned to school, but that seemed like forever ago - even if it was only two months ago. And frankly, the fact that Caleum Myers would no longer be anywhere near the D.A.D.A. classroom sort of deterred Dominic from coming here for as long as possible.

Nonetheless, a promise was a promise. Even for someone such as Dominic Denton.

Entering the arena, the fifth year strolled over towards the wall and leaned against it as he mentally reviewed some good jinxes and protective spells in his mind while twirling his wand between his fingers. Sure he might have been slightly nervous, but that wouldn't stop him from at least trying to do well . . .

Kayla entered the duelling arena with a slow saunter, she had thought Denton had chickened out in going up against her in a duel. But lucky her he hadn't and she had received his little note this morning telling her to meet him here...oh this was going to be fun!

She spotted him leaning against the wall and she chuckled softly to herself, he won't be looking to casual when she was finished with him but she had something to do first and she smiled mischeviously as she fingered the trick wand in her pocket. All she had to do now was to swap it with his.

"Hey Denton, aren't you just the eager little badger" she said leaning against the wall beside him.

*Gabben walked into the room and leaned on the wall watching the two prefects. This should be fun. He had been looking for Kayla but now he would wait. He wanted to see who would win this duel.*

It seemed like hardly moments later had passed before he heard the familiar voice of his fellow Prefect. Turning around to face her, Dom allowed a subtle smirk to appear on his lips as she spoke to him.

"Greetings Winters," he inclined his head, taking note of the audience that had entered behind her and seemed to be watching them. Strange, but interesting . . . "Eager as I ever am when it comes to seeing you. Ready?" He asked, taking a step away from the wall.

Maddox slowly walked into the dueling arena. He had a smug grin on his face. Camira had tol dhim to meet her here. She wanted to practice her dueling skills. He knew he would ahve to take it easy on her, with his knowledge of non-verbals and all. He was a very, very skilled dueler.


His first term here at Hogwarts, which was actually Cooper's, he and Nico had gotten to test themsleves against each other in a real duel. These practice duels were nothing compared to the epicness of that day. But he had no problem helping out Camira; Especially when all he had to do to distract her was take his shirt off. He chuckled at the thought, and waited patiently near the entrance.

Kayla raised an eyebrow at his smirk, funny how boys always thought they were going to win against a girl. "Always ready for a duel Denton" she replied with a small smile. She stepped away from the wall as well and accidentally on purpose she brushed against him and took his wand from his pocket and replaced it with the trick wand. "Oops sorry, seems I'm a little sluggish today...lucky for you eh?" She walked of giggling to herself and stood in the middle of the room, wand in hand.

Camira walked lazily into the dueling arena, pleased to see that Maddox was already there. Good. She hated to be kept waiting. She zoned into focus mode as she walked over to him. From what she'd heard from Nico, hes was very good. She doubted she could beat him, but she definitely planned on giving him a run for his money.

"Ready, Mr. Darcy", she asked smugly. Stupid of her really, but this was her defense mechanism when she was nervous.

Dominic eyed the blond girl suspiciously as though she thought she could be better than him. Though that was probably true, since he was rubbish at Defense. Only reason why he enjoyed it in the slightest was for Myers and now that his role model had abandoned him, then there was really no more joy left in the subject anymore.

Blinking at her suddenly brushing against him, he shuttered at her touch which obliviated him to her replacing his wand. "Sluggish? More like rude," he muttered back, gripping 'his' wand tightly and removing it from his pocket. Taking a polite bow - as even if was rudely bumped by her - then manners would still be obeyed, Dominic quickly swished the wand and exclaimed 'Expelliarmus'

Kayla stood waiting for Denton to make his way over to her as she ran her fingers up and down her wand. Her face remained impassive but inside she was laughing her guts out.

Oh he was a stickler for the rules, she bowed back to him trying to keep the smile off her face. Kayla eyed him carefully and decided to let him go first seeing how she knew what was going to happen when he cast his first spell.

Kayla heard him say the disarming spell and she almost combusted from trying to hold in her laughter. "Flowers Denton? What kind of attack is that?" she remained still, no point in attacking when she knew he couldn't defend himself...she wasn't that heartless.

Maddox grinned when he heard the smug tone in her voice. He turned a fraction of an inch and said, "Miss Yaxley." He bowed his head and continued, "So good of you to invite me. Yes I am ready. Are you?" He grinned, and walked a little further out into the dueling arena.


Mads slowly took of his leather cloak, to reveal the tank top he was wearing, along with his school uniform pants, and some black sneakers. His wand was strapped to his leg with a small leather harness. He grinned smuggly, grabbed his wand from its sheath, and folded his arms across his chest. "Ladies first."

Well at least Winters had the dignity to bow in return but for some reason Dominic had the inkling that he was being subjected to humility. Yet again . . . wouldn't be the first time this happened this term.

He frowned though as he saw what happened when his supposed disarming spell seemed to be ineffective and instead flowers emerged from his wand as though he'd cast orchideous. Weird. And yet she remained indifferent about his attack, almost amused by his uselessness. Until an idea struck him.

"Well isn't it obvious, Winters?" he said holding the flowers out to her. "The flowers are for you. I figured since your dear boyfriend left you behind, you might be a little lost . . ." he mused, fighting back the chuckle from his own tone.

She stood watching his face and it was all she could do to stop from throwing herself on the floor in fits of laughter. This was the most priceless thing she had ever seen, she wished she had a camera on her.

Kayla's smile instantly disappeared when he spoke to her and her eyes narrowed dangerously. That was downright low even for him. "Evanesco" she growled and watched as the flowers disappeared. "You will pay for that comment" her voice was dangerously low as she pointed her wand at him...oh no more Mr Nice Guy now. "Incacerous" she bellowed.

There was something about the way her eyes narrowed that Dominic knew that he had touched on a subject he shouldn't have. One that in a million years he never thought he would dare discuss, but somehow couldn't resist. Ugh - why only now did she seem interested in actually returning his attack?

"You . . . made my flowers disappear," he jutted his lower lip out and feigned disappointment in his eyes. And then she pointed her wand at him to which he countered with his own wand, muttered "Protego", which was useless as her ropes wound around him. Albeit his wand was still visible and pointed at her.

Kayla watched as the ropes wrapped around him and butterflies flew out of his wand when he tried to cast the shield charm. But she was far from satisfied, the time for fun and jokes were now over. How dare he say that to her!! Kayla was almost tempted to go and punch him in the face. Instead she walked over to him and glared at him. "Diffindo" she muttered and she threw his proper wand at him.

She walked back to her original position. "Now we duel for real and you had better hope you know your spells Denton, because if you so much as say another word about Nicholai, they'll be carrying you out of here" on a stretcher she added silently.

"Well what are you waiting for Denton, cast your first spell." Kayla was absolutely seething and life for Denton was just about to become unbearable at Hogwarts.

James couldn't suppress a grin when Barry was petrified. He did thought it was weird that he had dropped his wand before he was hit, suggesting that he had accepted the spell. Slightly confused, he walked towards Barry to perform the counter-curse.
"Finite Incantatem" he muttered, pointing his wand at Barry.

"Thanks James" he said and then he scooped up his wand. "Your good, now I`ll enter in our duel in the log book, ok? See you around" he added. Barry really needed more freinds.

Dominic blinked in horror as not only was he tied up in ropes, but additionally butterflies came from his wand at his muttering of the shield charm. This was so not fair and . . . this stick was sooo not his wand! But then before he could complain about it, Kayla freed him from the ropes and threw his real wand back at him.

"What were you playing at, Winters?" he glared back at her, all while wondering just how many 'fake' spells were placed on this wand. Switching his wand was just pure evil, really. Right - they duel for real; but what if he didn't want to after what she had just pulled? Sure he had rudely mentioned her former boyfriend, but she had switched his wand!

"Tarantallegra!" The tall Hufflepuff called, not willing to mess around with disarming spells this time around.

James nodded to Barry's thanks.
"Thank you too," he said, smiling. "You're good as well." He gave a small wave as Barry left to log in their duel.

Camira snorted a bit. "I am always ready." She followed him to the dueling arena, trying to force away the light fluttery feeling she felt in her stomach. Nothing to be afraid of. Maddox wouldn't really hurt her. Or mar her precious skin.

Camira grinned a bit as she saw his tank. God, he was muscled. You could practically see the muscles ripple as he- Gah. She needed to focus. She could play later. "A true gentleman. Why thank you", she teased, giving him a mini curtsy.

"Duro", she said quickly, pointing her wand. She was pretty sure that she was allowed to start. If not, oh well. At any rate, a stony Maddox would end things quickly, and more importantly, in her favor. Bwahaha.

"You better be." Maddox grinned at the appraising she was doing when he took of his cloak. He knew that would get her distracted. He smiled and said, "Your welcome." He could tell she was getting ready to send her spell.


He smirked a bit when she said the spell out loud. He definatly had the advantage here. As soon as she sent the spell he sent a non-verbal finite incantatem, which stopped the spell dead in its tracks. He grinned, florished his wand, and quickly sent a non-verbal stinging hex at her, before she could even blink.
