Anna shifted her weight over to her right leg and crossed her arms over her chest. Copernicus Kettleburn must take her to be an idiot. He obviously needed her to do something for him---"a favor," although Anna highly doubted the favor was "for the both of them." He should have just been man enough to spit it out and tell her what it was he needed. "Those type wagers can prove dangerous, you know, and I normally wouldn't participate in them. However, you seem...harmless, so I'm in." Glaring at him once for good measure, Anna stepped back a bit and prepared herself for the duel.

"Argh! Protego!" Anna called out, pointing her wand forcefully towards Copernicus. He didn't think he could get her that easily, did he? Especially not this early on... "You don't know how much I hate that little phrase, Kettleburn!" She made a face at him---an angry face---and then jumped forward just a bit. She wanted to make sure her spell would hit him---hard, too. Raising her wand, Anna shouted the incantation for the babbling curse, hoping to hit Copernicus and force him to not be able to utter another coherent word.

"Why?" she repeated, not really expecting an answer. "...because, well..." What was she supposed to tell him---the truth? ...that she hated the stupid "Thank you" phrase, because it usually meant that Ravenclaw did something really good and earned a ton of points? No---definitely not. That would make her appear weak, and she certainly didn't need that. "How did you do that?" she asked, glaring at him wide-eyed for just a split second. "Non-verbal, I mean."

"Protego," she lightly said, trying desperately to match Cope's non-verbal skills. Whispering was no match for non-verbal, though, and if anything, it made her shield weak. "Protego!" she yelled again, blocking Cope's second spell just in the nick of time. "You want to talk? Fine. I feel threatened. What are you up to, Kettleburn?" she asked. "Tarantallegra!"

For a brief---very brief---moment, Anna dropped her wand and stared at Copernicus, her face displaying a mixture of anger, hurt, and disappointment. "So I'm assuming I'm some sort of experiment? A guinea pig of sorts?" she asked, raising her wand again. "I didn't think you had it in you." Her words sounded harsh, almost wounded, now. She hardened her face into a blank mask and the ducked out of the way of the spell. She'd been too distracted to do anything else. "Rictumsempra!" she called out, echoing the spell he'd just attempted. "Intimidated by me? Your little guinea pig? Ha! Is this how you treat all your friends, or am I just the lucky one? Tell me, what do you have planned for me? ...Expelliarmus!" she angrily yelled, casting a second spell at him out of nothing but pure anger mixed with hurt.

As soon as Copernicus dropped his wand, Anna's own wand fell to the floor, as well. Within seconds, Anna was by Cope's side, asking him if he was alright. Why was she even worried? Had she turned soft all of the sudden? Ugh. She was a mess. She was hot and cold...cold and hot. Copernicus probably no longer thought she was an idiot---he probably thought she was a train wreck. Anna scooted away from Copernicus and went back over to her wand, where she grabbed it off the floor of the arena and shoved it into her robes. "Uhhh, yeah. A walk," she simply said.

Anna wrinkled up her face in concern and shot Cope an apologetic look. When she saw his attempted smile, she half-smiled at him in return. "I'm sorry, Cope. To say that I wear my emotions on my sleeve would be an understatement. I shouldn't have gotten so defensive with you. Thanks for the compliment, though. You will be okay, though...right?" she asked. Anna followed Copernicus to the door, still wondering what he'd had in store for her during that little duel. She didn't ask about it, though. She sort of felt bad for overreacting during their duel and hitting him so hard. Besides, if she was meant to know, Cope would tell her.

Amanda headed into the duelling arena with her wand drawn, she was looking to have a duel with anyone who was willing to duel her. She took aim at a practice dummy and moved her wand slightly. "Incarcerous" She muttered almost in a whisper and watched the ropes fly out of her wand and tie up the dummy.

Lucy entered the dueling arena, wand in hand. She waited for Herminny to arrive so their duel could begin. Lucy was so excited the was practially jumping out of her shoes.

Herminny walked into the arena a little hesitant thinking I'm battling a 4th year, this will certainly be intresting.

"Hey Herminny! Over here!" Lucy said, practically yelling, across the arena. She waved, motioning her to come over. When she did she said. "Just one thing before we start. Do you want me to go easy on you, and by that i mean spells you might know, or do you want me to use spells I know too." She said taking her spot across from Herminny.

Herminny walked over to Lucy and and said, "I know of more spells then you think, I have read lots of spell books at home and even tried many of them before I came to Hogwarts, I don't know every spell but I do know a lot of them so bring it on", Herminny said taking her place on the other side of the arena.

Lucy smiled at Herminny's enthusiasm for wanting to duel. It kind of reminded her of when she was in first year. She gripped her wand in her hand and sighed. "Furnunculus!" She said swishing her wand.

Uh,oh, Herminny thought, I don't want to break out in boils and screamed "protego" with all the confidence she could muster to sheild herself from the spell.

After she ad successfully blocked the spell from hitting her she said,"oh so you want to give me boils do you, then heres one for you, densaugeo", Herminny said pointing her wand toward Lucy.

'Oh no! Not my perfect teeth! I spent 2 years wearing those braces!' She mumbles a spell and a shield appears in front on her. The spell repeals off the shield and makes a beeline for Herminny. "Here one right back to you!" She yells smiling.

Dang Herminny thought as she was caught off guard and the spell hit her square on and her teeth grew to the size of that of walrus teeth, "ah, owwwwwe", Herminny exclaimed as her teeth grew to twicr there normal size and she thought Lucy is gonna get it now and she screamed "tarantallegra", pointing her wand square at Lucy.

Lucy was so busy laughing at the sight of Herminny's teeth growing twice as large she didnt her favorite curse used againist her. Her legs started dancing uncontrollably. "Think this is funny?" She asked looking at Herminny. "Well here let me help you laugh a little more. Rictusempa!" The spell shot of her wand and zoomed towards a prepared Herminny.

Herminny really was in no mood to laugh, her mouth hurt too much from her now enlarged teeth so she said with confidence "protego", to block the tickling charm from hitting her.

Once she succesfully blocked the tickling charm she said,"avis", pointing her wand toward Lucy, it was the only spell she could think of that would hit while Lucy was dancing uncontrolably.

Lucy needed to stop dancing so she could stop those birds from pecking her. She prayed it would work and mumbled a counter-curse and her legs stopped dancing. She quickly looked at the birds and yelled out. "Evanesco." She thought of one spell that might stop the duel. Just as she was about to say it, she decided to cast the charm non-verbally to catch Herminny of guard. A blindfold shoot out and flew towards Herminny. Again she used another spell non verbally. 'Petrificus Totalus.'

Herminny's body froze up completely and she thought this is uncool and unfair, I'm only a 1st year I've never learned non-verbal spells but there was nothing she could do about, she just stood there completely still.

Lucy walked over to Herminny. She pointed her wand towards Herminny's frozen body. "Finite Incantatem." She said. She held her hand out, to help her up.
