Natka smiled at Chris and Lizzie, and listened to their discussion about Quidditch. She vividly remembered her first time on a broom, but she couldn't honestly say she had found herself in the air. She definitely preferred to have her feet firmly on the ground.

"Oh, I just can't wait to get to the castle..." she said to nobody in particular, leaning over to peer out of the window.

She laughed with him. I know. It's my natural talent, I was born with it and will always have to carry it with me. Excellent she rolled her eyes again and giggled.

Giving Natka a smile as she heard the girl talking, Lizzie agreeingly said So do I Natka.

"These are great," Mariel told Sarah as she happily ate the lemon-flavored sweets. "You'll have to bring me more next time you're at home." But were they something exceptional, or was it just that she wasn't allowed to have them that made them so appealing? What other contraband could she get Sarah to bring to school? Surely Muggles had even more types of sweets.

Glancing over at Sarah, she noticed her sad expression. She almost didn't say anything in front of because she thought she might feel that way. Mariel resolved to find a way to meet up with Sarah over the holidays, but this time they'd have to make plans at school before they went home. That shouldn't be too hard. If she was going to be disobedient by playing Quidditch, surely sneaking out to visit a friend wouldn't be any worse.

Mariel looked tentatively in Nathaniel's direction as he laughed at her. "Have I ever seen the ocean?" she blurted out incredulously. "I live on a big island. What do you think?" Apparently this surfing thing had to do with that, but he was making her feel stupid for not knowing these Muggle terms, just like that crazy professor did when she didn't know what a shovel did. At least she wasn't the only one wondering as she noticed Lasca with the same quizzical expression. Although she was fairly certain Sarah would know.

At Lasca's question, Mariel spoke up. "You can either put your robes on over the clothes you're wearing - that's acceptable on the first day - or there's a bathroom a few compartments down - I think. You can change in there if you like." Looking up at Sarah, she nodded. "I don't think it will be much longer till we're there." She glanced out the window, before standing up to retrieve her own things.

Xander grinned when she mentioned having a couple boards. " gald to see I wasnt the only one to pack some sport gear, I think my mom feels i have a death wish or something." should have see the looks i was getting when I was shrinking down stuff to get it to fit. You know I heard in the winter they have some pretty heavy snow sometimes." He arched his brow and smirked. He couldnt help himself really he knew she wasn't to fond of the cold wetness that came along with snow but he still enjoyed snowboarding more than should be considered healthy.

Hearing the tone in Mariel's voice, Lasca bristled slightly. She too was a little insulted at his question. Of course, everyone knew what the ocean was. She couldn't stand when people did that. Just because some witches and wizards don't hang around with muggles as often as some, doesn't mean we are totally ignorant of everything muggles come in contact with. Brushing it off she scooped up Tundra and put him on the seat next to her.

She turned and fished her school robes out of her trunk. "I will return shortly. I am going to change now. Better to get it over with before the entire train gets the same idea." She gave a wink and a smile before disappearing down the hall. A short time later she returned in her new robes. They fit nicely. Currently she wore no distinguishing colors but that would change tomorrow.

Smiling at the thought she stashed her street cloths in her trunk and sat back down. Tundra, having finally exhausted himself curled up in her lap to take a nap.

"Kitty!!!" Zeke said excitedly. "I love cats." He smiled. "Boy or girl? What's its name?"

"I'm sorry about that," Zeke said, genuinely meaning it. "I hope everything works out where you can all see each other again."

She giggled when she saw his grin. "Well I can't be all girl all the time you know. I just love extreme sports. I can't help it. I want to be in the X-Games in the States when I turn 15." She told him. Well it was more like she was going to be in the games, she was going to be. What she wanted, she got and that was all there was to it. She looked at him when he mentioned snow. "Yes I know about the snow. I am not looking forward to that, well I am looking forward to some more of that hot chocolate of yours." she told him.

Jake told him that he might probably have to do it himself and that was when he was on the verge of giving up on the plan. Dominic was evil and it didn't take Cam long to realize that it might be harder for one 1st year to prank him. He finally managed to calm down from his unusual-ness he had shown a few seconds ago. Everything then became silent and his friend left the compartment probably to explore the train or something. He accidentally fell asleep.

He didn't snore but he did mutter some words about socks. And other kinds of clothes. Cam was immediately woken up by one of his pygmy puffs with their snaky-long tongue. Again with the licking! It was soo annoying. Yet the sudden "attack" from his pygmy puff made him stretch his arms which went straight towards Jake's head. What... I fell asleeeep? Geeez, I hope I didn't snore.

"Are we here already?!"

"Okay, sorry squrriels are cool." she said, still confused on how the squirrel subject came up.
Then finnally he started to make sense. She nodded as she listened to his explantion. Well that actually makes sense.
"So this guy is a prefect? And you got into trouble with him." she said, slowly. "And it was the same guy..who i hate by the way..who's shoulder I cried on? Which by the way, the only reason that happened was because he mentioned...my 'sidekick'.."
She paused for a moment, blinking back the tears that always came when she thought about Astrid not coming back.
"And I just found out she wasn't coming back to Hogwarts...and when I started crying on his shoulder...it was just because he was there..no t because I actually wanted too, or even realized what I was doing until after. It was a very" What was the word she was looking for? "Bad day for me."

Sage couldn't help but overhear this conversation as he passed by. Turning around and looking in the compartment window he found a dark hair boy and a girl arguing over something concerning squirrels.
The door being half open was welcome enough for him and it wasn't like he had anything better to do on this long train ride. Pushing the door open farther he popped his head in.
"Mind if I join you lot?"

Zeke looked over and saw the kid he'd met in Diagon Alley a while back. Cam, he thought his name was? He was asleep, mumbling something about articles of clothing... ? He woke up when a pygmy puff started licking him. "Hey, dude," Zeke said. "Not there yet, but not too much longer." he said. He remembered how the kid was worried about making friends at Hogwarts. He hoped he'd met some people.

Well this was gonna be easy on him. "Well you the waves.. I have a board and I ride them..." he said not knowing how else to phrase it without confusing them. "I ride the surface of the water. It's pretty cool. It takes a lot of practice though" he smiled at Mariel. "I really do NOT feel like putting robes on." he said with a sigh. "I'm going to go change clothes and get Vincent and I'll be back". He stood up and smiled. Walking to his compartment he saw Vincent looking at him. He grabbed a different pair of jeans,a new t-shirt,some other shoes, and his school robes and headed to the bathroom.

Camira almost laughed out loud at his display of Gryffindorish sincerity. So fun. And slightly endearing. "No worries. It'll be fine. So what are you going to be taking. Oh, and what year are you in." That would be helpful to know.

And all of a sudden some kid was muttering about...socks? Of all the things to talk about it one's sleep! And then he was awake and he looked adorably hilarious. Camira couldn't help it. She burst into hysterical laughter.
