"Wouldn't it be boring if life was predictable?," she asked airily, trying to disguise her quiet as just thoughtfulness.
Elizabeth grinned as Robert expressed the confusion over how she had described Bella. "Oh, she can be calm sometimes too. The trouble usually happens when she's left alone," she said. And then Mari caught on to the comment Robert had made to her about Kayla, and her eyes widened again. "No. Kayla didn't really bring your name up, that time," she blurted out without thinking, then looked at Robert again. "I wasn't putting all the blame on you. I thought we had established that already. And she had apparently gotten past my friendship with Mari already, so I don't see why we need to bring her into this, and make her feel bad." Then she fell silent, almost surprised that she had said all of that, and starting to worry. Having dropped off his trunk and said goodbye to Jacques and Kit (who'd seen him off to the platform) Ludo stepped up into the Hogwarts Express for the eleventh time in his life. He was particularly happy returning this year because there were no major exams, O.W.L.s being finished and N.E.W.T.s not til next term.
Ludo walked to the back of the train and searched compartments for familiar faces. He stopped outside of one as he caught a glace of a few familiars: Liz and Mari. He was surprised to see Liz here when he assumed she'd have been in the Prefect carriage.
He slid the compartment door open, but knocked on the wall with a grin. "Any room in here?"

Quidditch is the most popular game in the the wizarding world, but my friend Set would be better at telling you about it. As he's really into it, I'm more a stand on the sidelines and cheer kind of person. He should be here soon...
As for what I know about Hogwarts... it was founded centuries ago by for the most brilliant witches and wizards ever: Helga Hufflepuff, Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Each of the founders prized certain characteristics in their students, and therefore when we get to Hogwarts we'll be sorted into one fo the four houses. Hufflepuffs are loyal and just people who would do anything for their friends. Gryffindors are brave, daring and chivalrous. Ravenclaws are very intuitive and seek knowledge more than anything. And Slytherins are really ambitious people.
We can earn and lose ponits for our house at school, and at the end of the year the house with the most points gets the House Cup which I guess is like this really big trophy.
My mum says Hogwarts is the best place in the world to grow up. That you learn so much and meet people you're going to be in contact with for the rest of your life probably. There are supposed to be secret passageways and hidden rooms and the staircases move! All the teachers there are brilliant. I can't wait to get there!
Cadence turned to Leeroy and smiled at him. He didn't need to feel scared about going to Hogwarts. It was going to be the best time of his life. Quote:

The young Ravenclaw stifled a laugh at Lasca's reaction to Sarah's question. "That's a popular question," she said, remembering how everyone asked her that year and also remembering that she was guilty of asking Lasca that question herself when she first met her. The girl was probably asked that by everyone she met, as was Mariel the year before. "Don't worry," she said with an impish grin, "As soon as you're sorted that question will stop only to be replaced by 'how are you enjoying Hogwarts so far' immediately following the question 'is this your first year'." Mariel chuckled at the memory of nearly every older student she came across last year asking her those two questions at first meeting and now it will be Lasca's turn.
Giving Lasca a knowing look at her last statement, Mariel turned to Sarah and nodded. "I think she's definite Ravenclaw material. She'd better be anyway," she added in good humor. "I can tell she'll be one of those big points earners. We need her help to win the House Cup this year," she said with a grin. Quote:

My sister Becky never went to a real school, and she turned out quite weird. My brother was homeschooled for a few years but he's at Durmstrang now, and I refused to keep doing it after last year. So here I am, on my was to Hogwarts he said happily.

"You burned it?!" Sarah asked,shocked. "Well I suppose that is one way to forget about it!". Snorting with laughter she folded her legs under her and leant back on the seat.
Then the conversation turned to Quidditch.
"Ahh yes,I think WE won that last year...I distinctly remember the celebration in the common room," she said,leaning over to Mariel and winking at her.
"I'm sure you will get on the team again...and win games for the Ravvies.I'm not even going to try.I mean you remember my attempts in flying class last time..I was lucky I didn't kill myself,and others." Laughing again she took some jelly babies out of her pocket and began to eat them,before offering them around to the others.
"You guys want one? They're Jelly Babies...really nice.I thought I'd pack some of my own sweets for the journey," she smiled.
"So are you a good flyer Lasca? Practice at home?"
Sarah could tell by Lasca and Mariel's response to her house question that it had been asked before.
"Sorry Lasca,I guess that is something you have answered alot lately!"
Then she agreed and nodded as Mariel mentioned the other questions likely to be asked of her. "Yep that is pretty much all I got asked last year too.It'll wear off after a while," she smiled.
"I'm the only witch in my family,so there was no particular house I was expecting.Slytherin sounds nice,though,Kevin," she said nodding in his direction. "I guess another Ravvie means I'm surrounded by smart people! Don't show me up for the idiot I am too often will you?" she giggled.
Sarah watched as Mariel fed the owls and it reminded her of Screech.She hadn't bought the owl with her this year as he has flown into a window during the summer and hurt a wing.Any message sent would have to be via the school owls...hopefully they didn't bite!
Then the door went again and a face appeared.It was Gryffie Boy from the flying lesson last year.Sarah remembered him...and his first meeting with Mariel.
"Hi Nathaniel," she said,smiling at him as Mariel introduced them all.She had met him before but she wasn't sure he remembered her.
Boy is this compartment getting busy!, she thought,looking round at all the people.
"We have to start moving soon...I don't think the train will fit anymore people!" she giggled looking out the window at the platform.She was trying to see if her parents were still there to wave to,but they weren't.

I think it's going to be brilliant! I can't wait! My parents decided to raise me mostly as a muggle until now even though my mum's a witch, and they knew I was too. I went to muggle school and had muggle friends, and one time I went to a muggle summer camp! That was quite fun! So I'm really looking forward to going to a wizard school and learning about magic and everything. She glanced at Leeroy for a moment then turned back to Adrianna. I do believe Leeroy might be a bit overwhelmed. I had just finished telling him about things before I invited you in here. I'm afraid he hasn't had the opportunity to respond yet. I think he'll love it. I bet we all will!
And as to knowing a lot of people, I only just met them earlier, but I'm very good at making friends. My mum always says I'm such a Hufflepuff, so I imagine I'll be in that house. What house do you want to be in?

Sneeze still couldn't see where to sit, but then saw Trey. He glared at him. He hadn't seen him in a long time, but that was a good fact. Would he see him more this year? Sneeze hoped he would, he had millions of tricks up his sleeves. He looked around.
