Nathaniel saw Mariel talking to a group of people in the cabin across from him. He caught her eye gave her the thumbs up sign and smiled at her. He'd talk to her later. It seemed that she was busy with what she was doing.


Nate was still siting alone in his cabin wondering if someone would join him. He didn't have much of a social life last year.. he was hoping that would change this year.

"Points.." Mariel looked up at the ceiling with a thoughtful expression. Glancing back at Lasca, she attempted to explain. "Well, everyone has the opportunity to earn points and they are earned for whatever House that person belongs to. Points can be earned in class for answering questions correctly and for participation, and also for completing homework. Those are the usual ways anyway. You can also lose points for doing something bad. Whichever House has the most points at the end of term wins the House Cup. It can get pretty competitive."

Some movement outside their compartment caught her eye. Turning her head she noticed Nathaniel in the compartment across from theirs sitting alone. Returning his smile, she waved, then motioned for him to come over. Maybe he was looking for someone to sit with, or if he was committed to the other compartment he could at least stop by to say 'hi'. She had to stifle a laugh thinking they were just discussing House points and remembering when she met Nathaniel, they were arguing about the same subject.

Glancing over at Pandora as the owl hooted indignantly, Mariel hopped up from her seat and reached up into the overhead, digging around for her owl pellets. Finally locating them and tossing a couple to her owl, she turned to Lasca and said, "Ok for Apollo to have a few?"

Lasca was watching Tundra bound around the compartment when she moticed Mariel looking at someone across the way. She noticed the boy and gave a slightly nod of greeting and a small smile. She pulled a cat toy out of her pocket and was playing with Tundra when Mariel stood to attend to her owl Pandora.

"Of course. Apollo would be your new best friend." Just then Tundra made a dive for the toy and Lasca caught the tiny white kitten in mid air. Giggling, cast another look out the window, she began to bob her knee in agitation. "I am hoping this train gets moving. I am most anxious to get going." She knew she was being impatient but all the anticipation in the air was finally getting to her.

Kiki scanned the seats, looking for a person she could sit next to without fear of being attacked by them or getting sick.
"Well this is just great," she muttered to herself, and sighed. "If my being freakishly tall doesn't intimidate everyone, then my bad mood will." She tried to smile, hopeful that she would be able to find a seat next to a decent person.

Nate saw that Mariel had motioned for him to join her. He figured he'd leave his back pack in his compartment. He still hadn't changed into his school uniform. He slipped on his sneakers since he had taken them off to relax. His hair was a 'normal' color.. for now. It was his usually shaggy brown. He checked himself in the window before heading to talk to Mariel.

"Hey Mariel. How are you?" he asked her as he opened the compartment door and smiled.

"Great," Mariel said as she poked a few pellets into Apollo's cage. Turning to Lasca as she heard her speak of leaving, she nodded as she sat back down. "Me too. The sooner we get going, the sooner we get there. It should be soon though. It seems like everyone has boarded now," she added, noticing the corridors were much quieter than they had been.

Her attention was diverted when the compartment door was opened and she was glad to see that Nathaniel had decided to come over. "Hey, Gryffie boy," she greeted him with a grin, "I was just talking about you the other day." Then thinking it best to introduce him to her companions, said, as she gestured to each person in turn, "I think you know Sarah, but this is Lasca and Kevin, thet're both starting their first year."

"And this is Nathaniel," she told the younger students. "He's a second year like me, but in Gryffindor." Glancing up at Nathaniel from her seat, she said, "I'm good. You? Would you like to join us?" She still wasn't sure if he was alone looking for a seat or waiting for someone in his own compartment.

Nathaniel chuckled as his nickname of Griffie boy was brought up. "I'm doing well. Exhausted.. but well.". He sat down next to Mariel and looked at the first years. "Nice to meet you guys." he said with a smile. "How was everyones summer?" he asked with a raised eyebrow."Oh and Mariel.. I've brought my broom this year. Not that I'll be trying out for anything.. but just in case." he winked at her. "And I decided that my owl was lame so he's staying at home this year. I have a cat who's name is Vincent." he smiled and nodded his head towards his compartment.That cat was crrazy. "We adopted him for the Animal Shelter."

"Hi there Griffie boy. How was your summer?"Daniel hopes Nathaniel remembers him. He was a quiet young man that sometimes barge in to meet new people. "So how was your summer?"he asked loooking around for more people he knew.

Nate looked at the kid. He didn't know who this was. "Umm only Mariel can call me that."

Camira stood up and stretched in her empty compartment. She'd been thrilled to get one by herself. No annoying chatter and she got all that space to herself. But now, she was bored. She walked slowly to the door and opened it, kind of tired from the lack of activity she'd been indulging in. Yes, one could indulge in nothingness. She stepped out of her compartment, deciding to walk around a bit and peek into the other ones until she came across someone interesting. Though how likely that was, one never knew. She could only hope. Boredom was like slow torture and she was not willing to endure it any longer than necessary.

Marcus shook his head as he entered the compartment again and heard Hannah Leigh's question. Sorry, I'm just about to start my first year, tecnically, so I don't really know anyone yet.. Though I'm 13 I have been homeschooled for two years. Did you say you were in Ravenclaw? he asked curiously.

Giving Lizzie a thankful smile for not interrupting him in his writing, he now looked at the boy who sat next to her, and her, and said Sorry about that, I had to write an important letter.. I'm Marcus he said to the boy. Nice to meet Lizzie's... um.. boyfriend He grinned and sat down opposite to them, next to Hannah Leigh. So, are you in Gryffindor too? He hadn't been very aware of the conversation around him and tried to catch up on what had happened so far.

"Yes. It's my first year and I'm a little bit nervous." answered Damian, looking to the kitten which claw at the skirt of Winnie. "Leah what's the name of this cute kitty?" asked he tring to take the kitty and crawl it.

"A decentant of the Malfoy's. You are really proud of them. My family knew them. I'm a Drakow. We are the same as the Malfoys just in russish" he smiled ignoring her fiery look. *not again a Braggarts of pureblood*


Then he looked to Leah "Have you allready read in your new books?" he asked curious.

Kaio, who had completely zoned out during the comings of many more into the compartment that use to hold just one girl, was staring out the window. He had decided to stay a little secluded from the conversation. He didn't know any of them, but he'd managed to learn a few of their names from the surrounding conversations that he wasn't part of. There was Lizzie, the original holder of the compartment, and then Chris, her boyfriend, then Marcus, her other friend, and then Hannah, a ravenclaw third year. He pulled his wand from his pocket and twirled it around his fingers like a drumstick. It was an old past time. He would be spending almost a year away from home, and that meant no more drumming, no more Womble, and thankfully no more Toad.

Ruby turned to the boy who had just spoke and replyed calmer "of course i am proud, my mother and Grandfather have worked hard to bring the name to some level of normality around here after Lucius" she looked at him and asked "is Drakow your first name?"

"My firstname is Damian Alexeij but you can call me Damian. Oh yes my father told me about Lucius and what a shame he was", answered Damian.

Lizzie glanced at Marcus and Chris and hoped they'd get along.

Watching the boy who had been the first to enter the compartment after herself, Lizzie wondered why he was so quiet. Hi, I don't think I ever got your name.. she said friendly and added I'm Lizzie.

Kaio turned his head, when he heard someone speaking to him, recognising her as Lizzie. He gave her a friendly smile, "Nice to meet you Lizzie, I'm Kaio, Gryffie second year,"

Oh, hi Kaio. Lizzie said, and thoughtfully added I'm second year Gryffie as well, but I didn't see you around last year. Well it's nice to meet you

Ruby exented her hand and said "please to meet you Damian yes Lucius did bring shame to our family but Draco started to try and resolve out name but Scorpious my Grandfather and my mother Narcissa were the one's really" Ruby looked at him and asked "so you are the Russian version of the Malfoy's then?"

"I was homeschooled for a year. My stepmum, or the Toad as we like to call her, is a pureblood and focuses highly on blood status. My dad's a muggle, my orignal mum was a witch but she died. My dad married Toad a year later. She's trying to bring us all up like purebloods, me and my seven sisters. It's not really working though," he said with a grin, "She tried to homeschool me for a year, but she ended up taking so many puking pastels that she gave up and sent me to Hogwarts,"

Damian shaked her hand "Nico to meet you too. Yes the Russian version. We are pureblood and really powerfull in Russia. My grandparents opened an Hospital and orphanage. My whole family was in the ministry and my father worked in the death chamber." *Ruby isn't so bad as he thought*

Ruby listened and nodded "so what brings you to Hogwarts? if you don't mind me asking?" she realised that their two family's were very simular

"My mother died in Russia 2 years ago and my father couldn't endure the pain that he lost his love. So my Grandfather proposed him to start a new life. He had written with te english ministry and got a job here." said Damian sad.

"My mom was killed by a drunken muggle. I was so mad of him because I had so much friends there and he didn't ask my opinion. I start now to find new friends here".

That was Damians sad story of his life but he don't mind. He is a Drakow and a Drakow never abandon.

Ruby felt a sharp pain in the back of her throat and she felt for Damian she replied "i am sorry, that must have been terrible for you" she knew that a lot of pureblood's hated muggles and that was one of the reason's but she didn't think he hated all muggles like most would he might just hate the one who killed his mother, she asked "was it nice where you lived?"

"Yes it was terrible but I haven't abandon me. I'm a Drakow and we never give up. Al ot of people asked me if I hate now the muggle but no. I can't hate them. It was just one who had done a Mistake" said he.

"Oh Yes it was nice. We lived in Moskau in a rich quarter. The neighbors were friendly. I love Moskau even if it s really cold there" laughs he, "in winter everything is white of snow and when I look to the forest seeing the animals it's like I am in Heaven" told Damian excited.

Damian reallises that this chapter of his live had finsihed and this made him sad. "What about you. I tell so much about me that I forgot my manners" asked Damian Ruby.
