| | Talking to the Portraits
The first floor is full of portraits who would gladly lend an ear if you wish to tell of your woe. Most would be even more glad to talk your ear off about themselves... ooc: We do not have anyone to RP the portraits at this time so, feel free to make some up. |

Chris walked down the corridor to the wall of potraits and took out his lock for Charms homework, and a chain. he wrapped the chain tightly around his wrist and then thread it through the lock. He walked over to the painting of an elderly old warlock with a thivk white beard and locked it tightly to his frame. "So here goes the Charms Homework." he said laughed lightly as he clicked the lock into place. "what in Merlin's Beard are you doing?" said the old warlock in the painting.
"my Charms homework." Chris said to the old man. "You might want to be a little quieter if you dont want me to be stuck to you all day." he lsughed as he concentrated. "oh as tempting as that sounds i think im going to have to pass." the warlock said sarcastically.
Chris pulled out his wand and pointed it at the lock holding him to the painting. "Alohomora." he said hopfully. Nothing happened. "Oh just lovely." said the painting grumpily.
Chris shot him a dirty look. The warlock sat up starighter and put a smile on his face. He if he ever wanted to get rid of this kid he would have to try and help. "Come on son, I know you can do it. You look like a capable wizard for such tasks. Just focus."
"Ok thanks." he pointed his wand at the lock again and said "Alohomora." he closed his eyes and then he heard the heavy lock click and then fall to the floor. He did it! "Yes!" he jumped into the air. Chris looked at the painting the warlock was going an embarresing jig in which his puffy feathered hat was close to falling off. "Oh um sorry, about that well done, and good luck with your studies!" he waved to Chris.
"Thank you sir." Chris said and walked off back to the common room

Set walked up to a portriat of his favorite Hufflepuff. Cedric Diggory. "Hey, Cedric!" Set said. "What's up?" Cedric replyed. "Well," Set started. "..I'm kinda worried about getting on the Quidditch team!" "Why?" Cedric asked. "You said you were good, and others have said it too!" "I know, but the tryouts didn't go to well. I mean, I did fine, but I got hit with the bludgers a lot." Set said. "Well, did you talk to the Quiditch captain?" Cedric asked. "No, do you think its a good idea?" Set said. "Can't hurt!" Cedric said.
"Ok, I'll do it!" Set said, excting. He left for the common room.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Rayna C. Thorne Third Year | ♥My Very 1st Tag | ~Filofax:Forever~ | ~Evil Slythie~ | Chris' Caretaker♥ Freya had been walking throughout the entire castle, not knowing quite what to do or where she should go. Studying seemed useless to her all of a sudden, and for the first time in her life, reading was not one of her priorities. She strolled up one of the many staircases and glanced at all of the paintings that surrounded her. There were knights, old wizards playing a game of gobstones, a woman and her young child, and a portrait of a lonely looking witch, to name a few.
Who should Freya mention her troubles to? Surely they were just paintings? They surely would not know much about personal problems...but then again, she had been surprised before. Nevertheless, the tall girl made to walk up to the woman with her child, seeing as how they were almost level with the landing, and the woman might know something about 'issues'. "Hello." Freya said as she appraoched the painting, to which she was looked to with a gentle stare and smile. "How are you, lovely? You don't look so well off now do you?" The woman responded back in an eerily soft voice. "Look," Freya said in reply, "I know you're just a painting, but I wanted to ask for your opinion on-"But she couldn't finish her words. The moment she was near completing her sentence another character entered the woman's portrait. It was what appeared to be a middle aged man, with wild auburn hair and bright and cheerful brown eyes. "Did someone say 'opinion'? Why, I've got quite a few of those! What do you think about the punishments in Hogwarts? Too strict if you ask me! I say, 'Let kids be kids!' but does anyone ever listen to me? No, they do not!" "Allen, would you be quiet?!" The painted woman snapped back and attempted to push him out of her portrait with one hand, the other having been being used to hold her toddler. "She was asking me! Not you! Now go on, scram!" "Aww, come on now, Josephine, I can help...honest. I won't mess things up this time." He bowed slightly and caught his balance as Josephine attempted once more to shove him away. "Oh no! I remember the last one you botched, that's not happening again! Imagine, telling a twelve year old boy to color his hair using ink, what a joke you are!" She flipped her long red hair and gave, Allen a mean stare. "Go on, dear." Josephine said as she looked back to Freya, who had been watching with a loosened jaw the entire time. "Yes! Go on! We can help you. Ow ow OWOW!" The man screamed as Josephine smacked him on the head a few times with her umbrella, that until now had been acting as a shield for her and her baby from the painted sun. "I told you to get out! Why aren't you listening to me Allen? Why make things painful for yourself?" She continued to hit the man with the umbrella until he eventually cowered into the far left side of the painting. "Um, I think I'll come back later. Class is due to start soon anyway...so...." Freya said with a forced smile and turned to head back down the stairs. 'No wonder students rarely talk about the portraits...' From behind her, Freya could still hear a dull thudding sound as Josephine continued to hit the man with her umbrella. As Freya reached the lower landing she heard a scream. Apparently, the woman had thrown the umbrella at the man and now did not have a weapon. Her young child started to cry hysterically and Allen was able to be seen running from portrait to portrait until reaching his own, which included a fantastic scene of the mountains, several pigs, and a log cabin. He yawned lazily and slumped back into a comfortable looking chair on the cabin porch, and he fell asleep almost instantly with his mouth wide open. "Oh brother..." Freya said out loud as she exited, glad to have not spoken to any of them after all.

| ♪ Golden Badger ♥ clawdia & taylour ♥ Huffie Cappytain ♫ Oohhh the talking portraits!
Surely they would love some company!
Walking up to the wall, she looked for an empty space. Ofcourse she wouldn't stick her poster over a portrait. That would be horrible!
Miranda had to satisfy by sticking it in a nook, it was still visible though! Check! |
