Tobi's feet were swept out from under him before he could do or say much about Copernicus Kettleburn's speech. It might surprise both Kayla and Kettleburn to know that he wasn't feeling especially violent anymore. Perhaps it was a guy thing, perhaps it was the speech. Perhaps it the large amount of poo all over his robes, thanks to Kayla there was now even more of it. But whatever it was, Tobi felt much better now that he had vented his frustrations, and Kettleburn seemed to understand the gravity of his decisions.
Further, it heartened Tobi to know that Kettleburn had taken a blow to the jaw and still deemed Cela worth all the trouble.
Either way, Tobi believed Kayla when she said he'd get a sound hexing if he attempted to move so he stayed put.
"Perhaps there is hope for him after all," he drawled from the floor. "Kayla, just let me know when I'm allowed to move, okay?"
Kayla watched Tobi and she could tell that he was finally coming around and so she lowered her wand a fraction. She somehow thought he just had to get that punch in first. Kayla was really tempted to laugh, who would have though that Tobi Avalon had it in him to do something like that...look out Maddox Darcy.
"Nice of you to finally realise that" she commented wryly. "Can you behave yourself?" She quickly waved her wand and cleaned herself up before stowing her wand and she leaned down toward him, "That was one of the best punches I have ever seen" she whispered before straightening back up and holding out her hand to him.

Cope glanced at the much around him, dripping from his robes and hands, and then up at the two of them playing happy family again. "If I stand up, will someone hit me again? Because I'm staying down here." He was awfully confused. First they hated him, then they were admiring their ability to beat on people... Cela had really scary friends.
Kayla had to laugh as she took her wand back out of her robes, "Tobi, how did you manage to get through seven years at Hogwarts and not be able to perform a simple cleaning spell?" she waved her wand over Tobi, "Scourgify."
Her eyes immediately swept over his arms when he mentioned muscles and indeed she was impressed and she cleared her throat, "Well if they're anything to go by..."she nodded her head towards his arms..."the bread must be awesome."
Tobi felt a lot of heat rush suddenly to his face. "I, well, thanks?" he mumbled. Kayla was a bit weird. Scarier when she was trying to be nice than when she was trying to be scary. "For uh, cleaning me up, and yeah."

Tobi backed away when he heard Copernicus speaking again. He seemed to be having a moments quiet reflection before that. More's the better.
"I'm not going to hit you again." Tobi held his hands out as some kind of gesture, maybe not of truce, but as a ceasefire, "For one thing, I'm surprised Kayla let me live through the first hit. And I don't see a need for another. If it really was worth the trouble to you, and she better have been, or it'll be WORTH a detention to drown you, find a way to make it right with Cela. Including getting that hex off the pair of you."

Startled, Kayla looked down at Copernicus. "Well I never laid a hand on you, so perhaps that's up to Tobi to answer" she replied and then she turned to Tobi, "But I don't even think he is silly enough to do that again" she smirked, otherwise she would really have hurt him.
And apparently he wasn't that silly after all. "Tobi, is right we need to find a way to fix this. You know if you need me to be there when you tell Plymouth, I'm happy to oblige." She knew he wouldn't want her to be there but goodness she would pay to see that conversation. "Just make sure Cela is not around when you do it and let's not tell her about this little meeting either."

"Kazimeriz has instructed me to become her guardian. He wants me to ensure that no one else takes advantage of her in the way I have, which means I even have to warn Plymouth off of her. And you, Avalon. And Maddox and Garret. Everyone."

And because Kayla was a coward and didn't want to have to be the one to tell Nico.
"Woah...that's-that's harsh. But what if Celandine, wants to be with someone, I mean he can't stop her from being with someone she likes...that's not fair." Okay, she had a lot of respect for Professor Kazimeriz but this punishment was extremely unfair.
Did he hear that right? Did Kettleburn, how quickly he'd lost his first name basis, just say that he needed to be warned off Cela? "Kayla," he said very slowly, very calmly, deadly calm, one might say. "It might be wise if you place yourself between Kettleburn and me, because I think I might have to kill him, and that might make Cela sad."

Kayla stood stunned at this unexpected turn of events, they were all just being nice to each other a minute ago and now everything seemed to have imploded on itself. Personally Tobi, was being an idiot and Kayla had half a mind to stand back and see if Copernicus at the guts to hit him.
She sighed as Copernicus now took a stand and while she was finding this whole thing quite amusing as she looked between the two like watching a tennis match, she thought she better do something.
Kayla took her wand back out and pointed it at her throat, "Sonorous" she muttered. "QUIET THE BOTH OF YOU!!!" She flicked her left wrist and a another wand was in her hand. Kayla trained one wand on each of the two boys. "I swear if you don't both calm down I am going to do something I just might regret" she growled menacingly. "Eh...actually I probably won't regret it."
"Okay Copernicus, I will help you to look out for Celandine, that was my job anyway and Tobi here is going to help as well or he will be sorry if he doesn't. For the love of Merlin, Cela is the main priority here and she does not want to see any of her friends fighting amongst each other."
"Get OFF!" he shouted. The evil owl detatched herself and flew into the rafters hooting, maybe cackling, "I swear, seven years and she won't come near me and NOW she takes a liking to me?"
Kayla was looking at him expectantly. "Yeah alright, I'll help, you give me orders as if I wasn't going to in the first place," he grumbled, "I'll see if I can't bring Aggie on board too."
He wasn't sure she'd be entirely too thrilled about the idea of pulling Cela-guard duty, but she could be bought, he knew. Besides, if Tobi couldn't keep Barry away from Cela with intimidation, Aggie could stop him with Jelly Legs.
Tobi would have shaken hands with Kettl- Copernicus, but that would have been akin to grabbing a hold of a guy who had a nuclear joy buzzer - the zaps were getting worse each time and Tobi didn't want to find out what another felt like.
"So..." He held out his hand. "No more punching. Let's call a truce."

Tobi tried not to smile.
Cela did have a very good pout in her repertoire, but he was pretty sure she was at least a little bit aware of it. "Be strong dude," he advised, "it's for her own good."
"Yeah well I'll have to take your word for it on the pouting thing, it does absolutely nothing for me" Kayla smirked and rolled her eyes. Boys were such suckers for these things. "I know she's not going to like being watched, so let's try and not make it so obvious." Eh...this was a lot of effort for one overzealous teenage girl.
Camira walked into the owlery, a casual type of pace. Really, she should have been doing her homework, but since she was neglecting it, she might as well go all out and relax a bit. She spotted Xeno up top in a corner by himself and whistled lightly to get his attention. He ruffled his feathers in annoyance, but flew down anyway and petulantly stuck out his leg. Well, at least he wasn't biting anymore. She carefully attached her letter to his leg, making sure it was secure, before sticking out a treat for him.
"Take this to Nicholai Toussaint, Xeno, and as fast as possible." The owl hooted balefully at her, but quickly flew out the window, letter dangling in the wind.

Of course that would be depriving myself and that wouldn’t do at all, so I guess you’re in luck this time. Which bring me to, why on earth did you leave. And I suppose just as importantly, why did you fail to tell me. Really, it was quite embarrassing to be searching for you on the train until I was finally told you were not returning. But I’ll forgive you if you respond to this letter with haste. God, I’m so kind, aren’t I?
And how am I doing? So glad you asked. I had quite an interesting summer, the beginning of which I can not tell you in writing. Be intrigued. I did spend most of it in New Orleans with Will. Another interesting experience, but not one I care to repeat. Claustrophobia and loud noise at ungodly hours of the night aren’t my thing, as I’m sure you can imagine. This term is boring. Really, there isn’t any other word for it. I’m not exactly sure how I’m coping without you to entertain me. You’ll have to come to Hogsmeade one of these weekends so that I may keep my sanity. After all, I’m helping you keep yours. It’s only fair.
Kayla and I are okay, I think. I haven’t had much time to talk to her, unfortunately. Classes are keeping me busy, as well as studying for OWLs, and Maddox of course. We have to take comfort in each other to make up for your absence. Feel guilty yet? You should. I will be sure to remind Kayla of your feelings for her, but forgive me if I don’t phrase it exactly that way.
And now I must get back to my studies, I’m afraid. A relief for you perhaps, lest I send you a 20 page letter filled with senseless rambling. I expect a spectacular letter in response very soon, as promised.
Jesse entered the Owlery, his dark eyes reflecting in the sunlight, the large ball of fire high in the sky. His owl, Yugi Mutou, had been missing for days, weeks even, and Jess missed him. Yugi had been his first friend, they were inseperable. He walked over to the window, the cool breeze caressing his face, and ruffling his hair. "Where are you Yugi?" he said to no one in particular. He rested his head on his hands, a slightly disgruntled expression on his face. Hoot!
Jess raised his head at once, his eyes alert and hopeful. "Yugi?" he said quietly, poking his head out the window, and squinting his eyes. A black dot had appeared on the horizon, and there was a possibility that it was his long lost owl. And guess what, it was. Jesse grinned as the small, pint sized owl landed softly on his shoulder, a letter attatched to his foot. "Long time no see, little buddy," Jess said, as he stroked the owl's beak lovingly. He looked curiously at the letter before extracting it, and quickly read.

Jess looked at the letter for a second, his eyes skimming over the text once again. It made no sense! He sighed, and placed the letter in his pocket, and then leant against the wall, staring out into the landscape, Yugi on his shoulder.

Maddox slowly walked up the steps to the Owlery. Re-reading Nico's letter as he went. He planned to write his response once he got up there. THat way it gave himmore time to think of a response. He still was angry with Cela for not giving this to him until mid-term. He was sure Nico now thought as he himself had. That his best friend didnt really care. He quickly found a quiet space to write. He pulled out a piece of parchment, ink, and his quill and started scratching out the letter in his aweful handwritting.

Nico,
I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write you back. Actually, your sister just gave me your letter about two days ago. She has been a handful, but I think Kayla finally got through to her. Maybe. I am trying my best, but as you well know Cela is a master manipulator.
As for Evee and Cam, they have become great...friends of mine. I have also been watching out for Kayla. I've had to threaten a couple people already. As for that day in Diagon Alley, I saw you. I was actually present through the whole thing with Anna and all. I didnt want to interfere so I stayed hidden. Once you left though I went to look for you but couldn't find you.
I was angry with you for not telling me. I became even more angry when all the girls around me were getting letters from my best friend and I wasn't. Until I found out that Cela was holding out on me, and was the perosn handing out the letter's. She was angry with me for yelling at her about boys. But that has been handled, obviously, because now I am finally writting to you.
As for your Uncle, you know my feelings about that. At least you get to do some experimenting. I know how much you love making potions. I'm sure its a great relaxation tool for you while your Uncle is away, or just getting away from your training.
Hopefully by now the Dark Arts havent taken over you. You have fought to hard against it to convert to it, and I wouldn't want to see my best friend go down the same path that my father did. But lets not dwell on the past, shall we?
You better be running every day! I'm lifting weights everyother day and running every morning still. I have bulked up a bit. I have to say, I've been getting alot of attention since you've been gone. I enjoy it, but at the same time, I would rather be sharing in the attention with you instead of without you. At least I would have my best friend to talk to about all the insanity, instead of the girls that are helping to cause it. But I guess that is my own fault.
I have to say though, I'm starting to really like Camira. I'm not sure what to do there though. I dont want a relationship, but she is just....amazing. BLAH!!!!!!!!!!
OK enough of that! I have to go...do...something!

Maddox chuckled and grinned at the last bit of his letter as he re-read it one last time. He called Asmara down, as he rolled up the letter, tied it, and printed on the outside of the letter:

Once he was finished with that, he tied the letter to Asmara's outstretched leg and gave her a snack. "Take it to Nico, my love. And please be careful this time, I dont want to have to take you back to Professor Morgan." He watched as she coo'ed, and quickly flew off.
Maddox then put the rest of his parchment, quill, and ink back in his bag, and silently walked out of the owlery.

Jane walked up to the Owlery to borrow a school owl named Pip. She was careful to not slip and slide on the icy steps. She gave Pip some snacks and tied the letter from her pocket to Pip's legs.
She then patted his head and told him: To Lestat & Renee, Mountains of France.
Pip went soaring through the window. Jane walked back down to the castle.
Oh. That's gonna leave marks.
She thought as she tripped DOWN the stairs about 15 steps. She got up and brushed her elbow and knees a little, getting the snow off the wound. She made her way slowly into the castle, with bleeding limbs, which dried pretty fast.
Chris headed to the Owley. He had a letter in his pocket for his parents. Just asking how they were and stuff. When he got to the Owley he saw his owl Ricky. "Hey." He said petting the owl's neck. Then tied the letter to his leg. "Bring this to mum and dad alright?" He said and the owl had taken off.
But as he started heading toward the castle he saw saw Jane doing the same But she look like she was hurt. He went over to her to find that she was bleeding. Chris's eyes widen slightly, because he hated the site of blood. But he try to forget that...at least for now. "Hey Jane you need any help getting back to the castle?" He asked.

Livvy walked towards Owlery with a letter in her hand. As she did so though, she saw a girl trip down A LOT of stairs. Whoa. She walked towards the girl and helped her up. "Hey. You okay?" Livvy asked. She turned her head to see that Chris is came. "Hey Chris," she said, and examined the injureies of the girl, who's name turned out to be Jane.
Whit walked up the steps to the owlery,anxious to send off her letter. It'd been almost a year since she last saw Nico and couldn't believe it'd taken her that long to write to him. Hopefully he wont be too disappointed. She found one of the school owls,still wishing she had her own and attached a the following letter along with some brownies her mother had made for her. She didn't know if he liked brownies but what person didn't. She took the chance. Once the letter was attached to the owls leg,she sent it on it's way.

Oh do you remember how you wanted me to meet your sister? I did, a while ago actually, in the History of Magic class. She seemed to get a tad upset when I asked her if she was your sister though. I don’t see how she could ever be ashamed of it; I mean you are the brilliant Nicholai Toussaint, what’s there to be ashamed of? Unless she wasn’t ashamed. *shrugs* you know how your sister works, and that’s what matters. Um…I haven’t seen Kayla around much, it’s sad to say, but when I do it’s always great. Are you two doing okay? Or….better than okay is what I should be asking. I still can’t believe you left right after I got to Hogwarts.
