| | Room of Requirement
You're searching the castle for a mysterious room you have heard of called The Room of Requirement. You have searched every nick and cranny of the castle but still no room. You climb the stairs to the seventh floor and come across a stange tapestry showing Barnabas the Barmy trying to teach trolls to dance the ballet. You laugh at the silly tapestry until you side almost burst. Then you remember hearing the Room is located opposite such a tapestry. You turn around expecting to see a door, but find a blank wall instead. You start walking back and forth three times concentrating hard on what it is you need. Suddenly a door appears. You open it and discover you have found the Room of Requirement... |

As far as he knew, Helios was alone, but he still performed as if he knew that there was unseen audience. Drawing his wand, he raised the tip high, pausing briefly before bringing it down on the basket top. Another pause, then the lid popped open with a gentle, golden glow.
First came the fruit. Ripe oranges and apples, bunches of grapes, even a full watermelon. Next were the pies of various sizes and flavors. When planning a picnic, it helped to have a bottomless picnic basket. Freya had crept into the door just after Helios, but remained completely silent, like a shadow making it's way along a wall. She watched as the boy made a show seemingly for himself and numerous food items arrived from some sort of basket. If Freya knew anything about Helios, it was that this kid always had to make a good impression...even if he was alone.
Freya silently removed her wand from her inner cloak pocket and gave it a slight twitch. What seemed to be a very strong, but narrow, burst of air emitted and the next thing to happen was for the watermelon to split directly in half; it rolled so that the fleshy middle faced the ceiling and settled after a moment of rocking. "You know, I may not know much about picnics, but they can't be much fun if you are on your own." She remained in her spot next to the door, but had a slight smile on her face.

| "How true." The Greek prince lamented, his hair taking a golden orange glow in the torchlight. "There were supposed to be others..." Helios added as he dragged his wand over the watermelon halves, causing the seeds to drag themselves from their beds, and march off, single file, onto a empty plate.
Of course it'd probably help if he had sent invitations, but who would be bothered with such things? Surely, not him. Oh well, at least he had company.
Helios was about to reach back into the basket, but shut the lid instead. He could only wonder if she had found him by accident, or if rather that he was followed. "Is there something I can help you with?"
OOC: I suck. Fell asleep for a few hours.

Amanda headed into the RoR and saw a picnic in the room, raising her left eyebrow. Curious, what was that about? She wasn't in the mood for a mystery, but she'd still figure it out. She noticed a Hufflepuff boy and a fellow Slytherin girl there, but didn't want to interrupt anything unless she was spoken to.

| " 'ey! You there! Sit! Eat!" Never the nicest of people, hospitality should at least count for somethig, right? There was plenty of food for everyone, and anyone else who decided to show up.
Waving a hand in the direction of the basket, he indicated that she was welcome to help herself. "They call me Helios, she's Freya. Pay no mind to the godly monikers. We're just your average magic-folk." The boy couldn't help but grin before sinking his teeth into an apple.

Amanda said introducing herself before sitting down and helping herself to the food that was there, well this was nice. She grabbed a piece of watermelon and started eating it, it was quite good, it had been a while since she had a nice piece of watermelon.

| "Amanda." Helios repeated to himself to aid with memorization. Cultural differences made her name sound strange to his ears.
Taking a seat at the edge of the rug, the ornate fabric seeming to stretch out to accomodate him. Goblet in one hand, fistful of grapes in the other, the Hufflepuff boy squeezed the red fruit over the cup, nearly filling it with crimson juice. "Made a deal with the house elves. The secrets they will keep for a cook book."

| Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict Elizabeth had happened to be wandering the corridor when she saw a few people slip into the Room of Requirement, and, curiosity kicking in, she slipped inside shortly after the Slytherin girl. And once inside, she stopped short as she saw a picnic laid out, with only a few people there. "Um, okay . . .," she murmured, staying in her position near the door as she realized that, while the room was pretty weird, this wasn't something she would have expected to see in here.

Eyes on the door, Helios caught Liz (could he call her Liz?) slip inside the room. Taking a sip of his goblet full of wi-.. grape juice, the fingers on his other hand ensnared a bright red apple. "Welcome. Take a seat. Eat, drink, be merry. Blah blah blah." He couldn't help but laugh a little.
The young Greek warrior felt at home here. The room could be whatever you wanted. It also seemed that time flowed differently. An hour inside the room could be a minute outside. Of course he never tested the hypothesis...

Helios was about to reach back into the basket, but shut the lid instead. He could only wonder if she had found him by accident, or if rather that he was followed. "Is there something I can help you with?" Freya sighed slightly and strode over with her long legs, noticing that the door had opened again behind her. 'Yes, I remember the Amanda girl...' " From the passageway last term if I'm correct?" She said turning to the other Slytherin. 'Picked on Sapphire, if she's the one I'm remembering.'
Freya sat down on the rug with her legs in a sort of uncomfortable looking 'W' placement, then simply reached over and grabbed a small amount of red grapes; she never did like the green ones for some reason. "I don't know if you can help me-" Her eyes flicked towards the door again as it opend once more. "-but I have something for you." Freya pulled over her side bag and took out what looked like a vest made of chain mail, only the metal had a strange blue tint to it. She handed the armor over to Helios, "I've got gloves for you as well..." It took her a moment to retrieve the steel gloves, since they were much smaller than the first piece. "There you are. I hope you will find a way to enjoy them...but not too much. No additional mayhem in the school please." The metal 'chinged' softly as they were given to the new owner. "And please don't try to stab any of them into any tables...I'm awfully fond of my work. Maybe if you ask nicely I will send you some weapons over your summer break." 'While I'm kicked out of this place for good.'
She took another couple of grapes and popped them into her mouth, it must have been six years since Freya had last eaten them. As she enjoyed a moments silence a large stone fireplace forced its way out of the nearest wall and erupted in a blast of flames in the opening. 'That's better...'

The young Greek warrior felt at home here. The room could be whatever you wanted. It also seemed that time flowed differently. An hour inside the room could be a minute outside. Of course he never tested the hypothesis... Elizabeth's eyes widened as the Huffie greeted her, inviting her to join them, but then she shrugged. It didn't seem like any of the three would be too much of a danger to her, so she walked closer, finally taking a seat on the rug. "Hi," she said, smiling a little at how flippant he was being. Reaching over, she selected an orange, then started peeling it. "So what's the reason for this little gathering, or whatever?," she then asked, curious.

| "Ah..good question.."
Helios looked up from his goblet with a bemused look. "Would any answer I could give satisfy your curiosity?" The boy with the sky blue eyes punctuated his sentence with a chomp of his shiny red apple.
Deep down he knew that the room would provide whatever they needed. The students would just have to realize what that was. For now, a feast would do.

"Um, thank you, I guess," she said first, before catching his expression as he asked another question. Tilting her head as she watched him for a second, she took a bit to respond. "Only if it was convincing enough that I thought it was believable," she replied. If everyone was going to be cryptic, she would just have to give the same back.

| "If that is the case.." Helios said with a straight face, lowering his goblet to the rug gently. "I am luring students here with food to help convince them to join a secret society that I am forming unknown to this schools administration." It all came out in one breath, though he could be joking, he sounded serious. "Believable?" The young prince asked with a smile.

Paris didn't know where she was going but something had made her come up to the seventh floor. She had only been there one other time and at that time Anna had been chasing her all through the corridors trying to hex her. That had actually been really fun. So when a door appeared it shocked the hair color off Paris.
She opened the door and walking in. She saw Elizabeth and Amanda talking to a boy she had never meet before. She walked over to them to see what was going on. She might as well. "Hey guys." She smiled.

| "Presents? Is this late birthday or early Christmas?" Helios said without taking his eyes off his new vest, instantly enamored. "I wouldn't want a professor confiscating this fine piece of craftsmanship." Which was all the excuse he needed to put it on under his school robes right away. Scratch body armor off the Christmas list. But he still wants a flying pony. What?
Though he enjoyed the company, (and the food) something seemed to be bothering the boy with the solar mane. Something he wanted to ask about, but thought it to be morbid dinner conversation.

"Well, except for the luring people here with food, since I think most of us weren't entirely aware the food was going to be here when we first showed up, on the whole, yes. It's believeable because you seem to want me not to believe it."
She had finally finished peeling her orange, a tiny pile of the peel on the rug in front of her, and popped a section into her mouth, just as Paris came in and greeted them. "Hey," she said, once she had swallowed.

She relaxed a little more on the rug, having kept herself pretty tense since she had first arrived. "So." She said after a minute or two, and temporarily losing her focus as she stared at the fire, "What's on your mind, you seem troubled." Freya was no psychologist, but after being around so many people over her summer, she couldn't help herself.

The sky burned in the reflection of the fireplace displayed over his blue eyes as a single word fell dull from his lips. A somber note in emotionless monotone. "I hear a boy was killed in the library, and that the professors are beginning to lose their wits." Tearing himself away from the flames, Helios spoke after he regained his conviction, and was able to focus on his surroundings. "It is almost as if there is some great and terrible plot going on around us, and I have no clue what it all means.." You would think it would be enough to be able to relax in such a interesting room, away from the drama on the outside. Sadly, no, how could anyone relax when there were mysteries to be solved?

Freya found herself smiling a little bit, "Be thankful that you weren't in the room when it happened. I wasn't so lucky...second one on the scene, well, third if you count the victim." She ate a few more grapes, pausing for a moment, "It was so strange. It was like he just dropped dead right at the front desk." Freya straightened out the rug that was underneath her. "But I know what you mean about the professors, some of them have been acting a little strange." Stranger, actually. Freya had yet to meet a single professor who did not have their little quirks...it did make things fun though. "I'm glad I kept my wits when I was in that library, and not acting like a complete fool like several others. But I suppose that everyone acts a bit differently when confronted by such a thing...". She pulled out what looked like a silver plate and set it down on the floor beside her; not on the rug however. "I don't think it would be comforting for me to tell you that I don't know much about what is going on either. We're just going to have to wait and see it seems." There was a sound like a lighter and a small flame appeared, seemingly balancing on the silver plate. "What is your favorite animal, Helios? Just out of curiousity."

Helios didn't like being asked personal questions. There were a lot of things Helios didn't much care for, and being rude was one of them. So, he obliged to answer Freya. "Winged horse. Pegasus." Favorite animal wasn't something he put much thought into. The pegasus was his patronus, a mighty steed that could drag the sun across the sky.
The rug beneath them shivered, the various plates and trays quivering. The persian weave loved having its bumps straightend.
Helios paid no mind to the rug , instead keeping his eyes focused on the silver plate and the dancing flame.

Helios paid no mind to the rug , instead keeping his eyes focused on the silver plate and the dancing flame. Very carefully, Freya tapped the flame with her bare index finger. The fire followed it, almost as though it was molten glass. She brought her hand away and concentrated harder, it had worked before, it was sure to be just as successful now.
The fire began to morph into a number of strange shapes, eventually stopping when it took the form of a horse, an Andalusian to be precise. Freya reached down again and pulled at the sides, this time two strands followed her and opened up, revealing a wing on each side of the fiery beast, which now began to prance around on the silver plate.
Freya took out her wand and cast a simple charm on the perimeter of the plate, so that the animal wouldn't wander off of it and cause mayhem and destruction with no trouble at all. "Here you go." She held the silver platter out for Helios to take. "It's yours now, enjoy." The pegasus continued to prance then took off at what looked like a slow moving canter around the edge.

Elizabeth had been sort of tuning out the conversation Helios was having with the older Slytherin, slowly eating her orange, but her hand stopped as he finally spoke of the incident. "I was in Potions class when that happened. Peeves was wreaking havoc, and then the Patronus message came to alert the headmaster." She glanced around as she paused, thinking about the second part of what he had said.
"Professors are definitely acting weird," she continued. "And, only my opinion, of course, but that would seem to lend credibility to the idea of some sort of plot. Because if someone wanted to get inside Hogwarts, or even already is in the school, having the professors acting all loopy would help out a lot. Keep the attention off you." She sighed as she stopped speaking. Apparently she wasn't the only one curious about what was going on.

It's believeable because you seem to want me not to believe it."
She had finally finished peeling her orange, a tiny pile of the peel on the rug in front of her, and popped a section into her mouth, just as Paris came in and greeted them. "Hey," she said, once she had swallowed. She watched Elizabeth peel her orange. She had never seen someone peel a orange so perfectly. "Enjoying that?" She asked with a smirk. She had no idea what was going on in here but she saw food and she was hungry. "So um what is going on here?" she asked as she picked up a strawberry and nibbled on the end of it. Quote:

Tearing himself away from the flames, Helios spoke after he regained his conviction, and was able to focus on his surroundings. "It is almost as if there is some great and terrible plot going on around us, and I have no clue what it all means.." She looked at the boy who spoke. "Yes that's what I heard as well. And no one around here seem to think that something to be worried about. Everyone is just going on about their lives like nothing happened." She said feeling bad all over again that she had been mean to Set in the first place. Quote:

"I think that it has something to do with that mirror behind the portrait of the sleeping dragon." She said softly.
