As she looked over at the Grey Lady, she noticed her boyfriend had managed to come over, a bit flustered and... he WALKED into her?! Her eyes got huge and she opened her mouth in a perfect O shape.

"Um.." was all she could mutter. How could she explain this? "Oh, I am so sorry, Miss Grey Lady, I apologize on his behalf." She got off the bench and took Teage by the arm and looked at him. "Dear! What did I tell you? You aren't supposed to walk into ghosts." She thought she explained that to him. Lord knew her brother Vlad always kept her in mind of that.

Brushing off his shirt, she couldn't be mad at him. No, she offered him a smile and gestured to the table. "How is everything, love?"

"I read that about the ghosts in Hogwarts, A History," Copernicus sank back into his seat and watched the ghost drift overhead. "I wonder what they're doing here again. I remember reading about the Potion that brought several ghosts back to their bodies many many years ago. I don't think ghosts have been seen since then."

Karma folded her arms and listened to Copernicus speak. She did remember reading about that potion somewhere, but where exactly was it? Maybe it had been in one of those books she was reading when she was in Flourish and Blott's over summer.

"That potion would grant all of these ghosts to return to their bodies. But, what if they didn't want to? Maybe they came back because they wanted to be here. It wouldn't surprise me...."

"I'm not totally clear on how it worked, but I think they all took it voluntarily. These ancient ghosts of Hogwarts... I don't know where they were," he really wanted to try to put his hand through her. Not to be rude, but because he was curious by nature and wanted to know how it felt. "Have you ever met a ghost before this?"

William sat there calmly looking around in silent awe. He knew the school was huge but his cousin had been wrong about the Great Hall. It was beyond huge! And the ceiling, well he knew he wouldn't be able to stop looking up every ten seconds to see if anything would fall down on him. Leave it to him to forget his umbrella on a day like this. Glancing around he took some pumpkin juice and sipped it, wondering if he'd see anyone he knew from his summer excursions.

Placing is hands on the table he blinked as he took another glance around, noticing the different varying situations around him. Surely someone would be like him he assumed, praying he wasn't the only one in the school who loved random pieces of excitement. Shrugging to himself he sat there, waiting.

Voluntarily. Of course, that would make the most sense. If anything, morally it should be like that. She was very curious as to see what a ghost felt like, and remembered having walking through one before at her old school. The thought made her shiver once again.

"Well. At my other school, we did have them. But, they were always there. And now, the Hogwarts ones reappear. It just fascinates me as to why."

Wow. She was being nosey.

Leeroy had been scared of the idea of ghosts on the train but now that he had actually seen one he was frightened. He quietly leaned back into his chair and examined the ghost from a distance with wide eyes.

Tobi caught sight of Aggie, finally entering the hall, and sitting, not wrongly, at the Gryffindor Table, only he NEVER sat at the Gryffindor table, when so many of his friends were Ravenclaws, he hadn't sat there past the day he'd met Cale, Eddy, Tino and Sho.

It was no wonder he hadn't met Aggie until last year.

Now he was in a predicament, leave Val in the middle of a conversation, or leave Aggie to fend for herself among their own house?

"Oi! Aggie!" A comprimise maybe? "Over here!" he waved at her, hoping to catch her attention.

"You went to a school before Hogwarts? Where did you attend?" Copernicus watched the ghost still. This was fascinating, and he'd have to go spend copious amounts of time in the library to learn about ghosts. And about other schools. Anything to explain why he couldn't make friends.

"I only just started here last year," Karma said, watching Copernicus watch the ghost. "I came from Germany, because of my father and brother's job. My brother is now in the Ministry, a member of the Wizengamot. I never got to ask you though - where did you move from?"

True, the ghost was fascinating. And Copernicus seemed nervous. Was she doing something wrong?

Robert looked at Aura and smiled, "Couldn't agree more. But I guess that'll be seen in lessons." He watched as Aura's cat jumped onto Elizabeth's lap and laughed, "You're cat tries to escape and this one tries to come to you. Ironic, huh?" Hearing Aura speak again he turned toward her and shrugged, "With the way this term has started? I'd expect anything but boring."

Robert looked across Elizabeth to a boy who was on her other side when he coughed. He glanced at Elizabeth curiously and shrugged. Leaning back he looked at the boy with a friendly smile, "I'm Robert, nice to meet you."

Robert laughed as he watched Elizabeth pick at a piece of bread and listened to her speak, "True...if that were the case we'd all be in serious trouble." He scoffed as she teased him and shook his head, "I don't know everything...even less about muggle stuff." He smirked at her comment and laughed as he pushed his food around on his plate, "I suppose we will." He watched her for a moment as she continued to pick at her break he looked at her curiously, "Are...you alright?"

William glanced up, noticing a boy that looked rather down and out. Moving closer to him he smiled shyly and said, "Hi, I'm William, first year." he held his hand out in the way his mum had taught him and smiled, his blue eyes glinting happily. "Isn't this great hall ... great?" He asked excitedly.

"My father was a diplomat in France, so I attended Beauxbatons for the last four years," Copernicus gave her a slightly apologetic grin when he caught her looking at him while he was studying the ghost. "Do your father and brother work for the Ministry?"

"Ummm, excuse me. Could you pass the rolls, please?" Liz asks blushing.

"I don't think we've met...my name's Liz." Liz says with a small smile.

Beauxbatons. She had never been there, but she did have some knowlegde of it. The famous Fleur Delacour went there, who participated in the Triwizard Tournament with Harry Potter, which was held here.

She made a mental note to herself to find better things than to just read books in her spare time.

"My father wanted to be in the Ministry. But, he decided that it wasn't for him anymore. He retired, although he's not even that old. He works part time at the Daily Prophet though. But Kristofer made it into the Wizengamot here. He's very excited."

Elizabeth laughed as Robert teased her about Auralie's cat. "Bella doesn't try to escape from me. She tries to escape from being closed up in rooms,' she clarified, then smiled as he introduced himself to Ludo. "I'm sorry. Robert, this is Ludo. Ludo, Robert," she hurriedly introduced them. "Ludo's been a good friend since like last term."

She then watched as Robert pushed food around his plate, still idly eating little bits of her bread. "I think everyone else would be in serious trouble if we had seventh years acting like they were five. Because you wouldn't be able to control yourself," she said, semi-seriously, before looking at him as he talked about knowing little about Muggle things. "Well, I already told Ludo he could borrow Tale of Two Cities if he wanted, so just let me know if you want to learn anything."

She idly glanced at the staff table after she spoke, noticing that it appeared things were still happening up there, then brought her attention back as Robert spoke again. "I think classes are gonna be pretty interesting this term," she observed, before blinking as he asked her if she was alright. "Sure. I'm fine. Why?," she asked, a confused look creeping onto her face.

Yes! Rian about screamed the word out loud. She carefully controlled her face while letting Liz talk to Coperburn...or whatever his name was. She opened yet another chocolate frog and sucked on it while putting food onto her plate, remembering to steer clear of the rolls that were in her reach.

Copernicus passed the girls the tray of rolls without really looking at her. New girl alert! His ears turned red and he gave her a look out of the corner of his eye without turning his head. "Erm. It is my pleasure to meet you, Miss Liz. Please forgive me for not standing. My name is Copernicus."

He was so relieved that Karma, who was familiar to him by now, was speaking to him again. He relaxed slightly. "Your father works for the Daily Prophet? Is he a reporter?"

The Grey Lady had situated herself at the Ravenclaw Table and was quite amused with the conversation amongst the students. "Did you happen to notice Sir Nicholas? He's showing off at the Gryffindor Table," she said politely to anyone who would listen to her. "The Baron... remains ill-versed in manners." She leaned forward in order to get a better look at what was happening up at the Staff Table and part of her body disappeared into the table.

Leeroy looked up. "Oh hi. I'm Leeroy." He shook the boys hand. "It is. I've never heard of or seen anything so big before." He said in an awed voice. "The foods good too, but the ghosts are not so great."

Robert smiled as Elizabeth spoke of Bella, "Ahh...well it just so happens that every time she's confined she's with you so..technically I'm right," he teased. "Though it seemed she was content on the train," he said with a smirk. Hearing her introduce Ludo he nodded, "And I'm her friend as of...what a few days ago..maybe a week now?" Laughing he ate a few bites of his food as he looked around at the students, glad that things had somewhat settled down now at the table.

He turned and looked at Elizabeth again as she spoke and shook his head, "Ah...but I'm not a seventh year nor...well maybe only slightly crazy enough to tell one off." Laughing at her comment he nodded, "Yes, you can tell me all about musicals. I look forward to it." At her confused expression he shrugged, "I don't know you just seem sort of...preoccupied. I mean...you've been picking at that bread for a few minutes now and I don't think you've eaten any of it. It's all just piled up on that plate..." He looked at her curiously as he took a bite of stew and shrugged again as he swallowed, "Was just wondering what's on your mind."

Blushing even more, when she took the tray from him. "Thank you." she says softly.

"Nice to meet you, too, Copernicus." Liz replies. "That's alright, you don't need to, but thank you!" She finishes with a sweet smile playing on her lips.

Not standing! What a gentleman...! she thinks to herself.

Karma noticed his nervousness around the new girl, and hid her smirk as best as she could. She could tell that he was NOT a ladies man, but that he would be a very good friend to her. The sea of relief washed over his face when he turned back to Karma. That poor kid. He was good looking, so naturally he would attract attention.

"Yes, he does do reporting every now and then. He's kind of like, an investigative reporter. And it's so neat at times. He comes home and tells us stories about what he had to do to get the story right this time, and who did what, and everything else."

Karma turned suddenly when the Grey Lady sat down near her. Walking through one was bad, but even now she could feel the cold air coming off of the ghost, and she shifted slightly in her seat.

"The Bloody Baron always struck me as rude when I read about him. But, if you don't mind me asking, Miss Grey Lady, why did you come back? Not that you're not welcome, of course."

William grinned, then stopped. "Ghosts?" He inquired, looking around and stopping dead in his tracks as he saw a ghost at their table. "Um, wow never seen a ... ghost before." He said softly, as if hoping the ghost in question couldn't hear him. She looked familiar though, as if he had seen her in a book. "Are they dangerous?" He asked, leaning closer to Leeroy and eying the ghost. He took some potatoes and placed them on his plate, not really hungry. The train ride had drained him but seeing that ghost just unnerved him.

Mariska sat in silence for a time, finishing her meal and even beginning on some dessert while she simply...thought. Of course, she wasn't sitting that far away from Robert and Elizabeth and one would think that after he had..well, acted like he did he would have come to talk to her after sometime,but no. He was still with Elizabeth,and acting quite concerned for her in fact. This was confusing, and slightly irritating. Mari resolved to ignore it...for the time being anyway. It wasn't like they had made any promises so far...but still, a few meetings here and there had to count for something. She looked away from him for a moment, trying to decide if she should even let him know how irritated she was.
