Vannie smiled when Raiden hugged her, he was sooo cute. Pulling away slightly, she glanced back at the mirror, to see that someone had covered it. At least now she couldn't look at it again, maybe that was good?

"No.." She shook her head, frowning a little. She knew that it could never come true. "It's not about Miles...." She commented, skipping over the bit where he'd called her smart, funny and pretty. "It's his dad.....he was happy." She sighed, brushing back her hair from her face. "He'll never be happy. Not with me anyway. He wants stupid pureblood grandchildren...not halfblood ones." She added, going off on a little tangent. Raiden hadn't needed to know that really.

Confused. Ohhh confusion. You're not my friend.

Raiden looked at Vannie Corbette, eyes wide. "But... Vannie Corbette... if you're a witch, and Miles is a wizard... then aren't your babies gonna be witches and wizards too? How are they gonna be halfbloods?" He tried to sort it out. If someone had magical parents, didn't that make them magical too? Oh... wait... "Wait, does he mean that you're not a real witch?"

But... Vannie Corbette was DEFINITELY a real witch! Otherwise she wouldn't be here, would she? Regular muggles couldn't come here, or do magic...

"You're definitely a witch, Vannie Corbette, and I'm sure any babies you have are gonna be just as fun and great as you and Miles!" Raiden nodded. "And Miles' dad is just... well, he sounds a little mean, to be honest..."

"Yes...They will be Raiden...but not pureblood ones...like Miles is," Vannie sighed, wiping her eyes, and attempting to smile at Raiden. He didn't understand. He was too young to understand. How she wished that she was too young to understand. "It's because Im Halfbood Raiden, my father was muggleborn...I only have half wizarding blood," She added, trying to make him be able to understand, it was hard though. And she didn't get why it mattered. Everyone should be equal right?

"Aww Raiden," She giggled a little and ruffled his hair. "I think they'll be cute like Miles too," She smirked a little, Miles would not like to hear her say that. "Yes...I think he sounds a little mean too....I've never met him though."

Oooh. That made sense... he scratched his head as he tried to sort everything out. He'd grown up in hospitals, away from most wizarding prejudices... he'd never actually known what pureblood and halfblood and muggleborn actually MEANT to some people.

"So... you're half Muggle, and that's why Miles' daddy doesn't like you?" he said, looking up at her with a little frown. "Then, he doesn't... like Muggles? But they're people, just people without magic. So really, what's the big deal?"

He smiled when she ruffled his hair and laughed. Vannie Corbette was one of his very favourite people, he'd decided. It wouldn't matter to him if she had three arms and a uni-brow. She was nice, and she smiled, and she was friendly.

"It doesn't matter if you're half-muggle or whole muggle or all wizard," he said, nodding. "All that matters is who you are. I don't think you should let Miles' daddy upset you. You only get one life, right? You should smile and be happy as much as you can." He tapped his chin thoughtfully. "And besides... Miles likes you an awful lot. So really... does it matter what his daddy really thinks?"

"I don't know Raiden," Vanessa spoke sadly, whilst shaking her head. She hated how Mile's dad would never like her, but she didn't really like dwelling on the fact, Miles liked her and that was all that mattered right? "Miles' dad is just one of those people who wants to care for his family..I can understand that kind of."

"I'm not going to Raiden...Miles wouldn't like," She smiled a little, Raiden was always able to make her feel better. "No....I love Miles..and he loves me...Miles' father should just accept that...because it's not going to make any difference," She added with a smile. Nothing would change that.

Willie ran and ran with Jake, not even caring if the boy was limping or not. The girl was going to give them cooties! Icky, horrible cooties that're usually given when a boy makes contact with a girl.

EWWW.

Even the mere thought made Willie gag.

His legs grew tired from all the running and his lungs were burning so hard his eyes would tear up. Deciding to stop, Willie pulled the breaks on his legs and then looked back at Jake with a raised brow. "Ye 'lryyight?"

Massaging his sore throat and holding the place on his stomach where Jack had hit him, Jake followed Willie back to the place he'd visited those two times. But it was less crowded now, and he always felt comfortable in here.

Not sure if Willie was referring to him in general, the injuries or the 'cooties', Jake said, "My throat..." and coughed a little. Man that Jack kid had a tight grip.

Vaelle sniffed. Someone stank of coffee. She held her lace handkerchief over her nose dramatically and glared at the portrait of the dragon. The dragon snored slightly and a puff of smoke erupted from it's nostrils.

Willie looked at Jake with concerned eyes. He wasn't worried about the kid! Noooo, Willie doesn't worry about anyone! He was worried that the cooties would spread! SPREAD!

Well, that was somewhat of a lie, but he did NOT have feelings. No he did not!

"Look up, mate." He told Jake as he held his chin. But before the boy could reply, Willie had already tilted his head upwards. A gruesome red mark laid on his neck, which made Willie cringe. "Ehh... That ain't goin' any thoone'." He commented as he took away his hand.

He needed something to cover that up...

With a bright smile, Willie grabbed his own untied tie and wrapped it around Jake's neck, covering the hideous red mark. "Ain't no one gunna thee that, I tellth ya!" He smirked, patting his back. Ahhh, what would Willie do if he didn't go any every adventure when he was a kid? He'd probably be going to the Hospital Wing to get Jake fixed up.

Pffffffffffffffft.

Hearing a puff, Willie jumped on his feet and turned around to see a girl probably their age holding a hankie over her nose. "OIII. Ye bettah get away from dat dragon there. It'll bitechuuuuuuu or maybe even worthe!"

Vaelle looked sideways at the boy who had spoken presumably to her. He seemed to be about her age and was walking with another boy who seemed decidedly worse for wear.

"um, thanks for the warning... I think" she said through her handkerchief. She didn't need anyone to tell her to be careful of painted dragons, but she surreptitiously took a step away from the portrait anyway.

"Well, if he wants to care for his family, Vannie Corbette," Raiden said softly, looking up at her again, "then he should like you well enough. You're really a great person, so why shouldn't he want Miles to have you as his girlyfriend?"

Glancing at the mirror, he felt his heart do a little double step, a sign that he still needed to get himself under control. As he tried to remember the calm-down techniques his mum had taught him, his eyes strayed toward the portrait they'd come through to get in here; there were loud voices on the other side... and one of them sounded very familiar... That lisp, and odd accent...

With a nod, he continued, ignoring the loudness outside.

"You should just be you. And not mind what anyone else thinks, even if it's Miles' dad."

Willie blinked at her as she spoke to him through his handkerchief. Did she have a big thing hidden behind that thing? Was she so ashamed of it that she had to restort to hiding? Willie felt sorry for the girl and gave her a weak smile.

"Ye better thtep away a litt'e mooore." He told her looking back at Jake just to check up on him. "I'm Willie Crocker and thith ith Jake Upthtead."

Gritting his teeth and squeezing his eyes shut as Willie moved his head up, Jake tried not to make a sound. Was it bad? Bruised? Grossly disfigured? Did he still actually HAVE a neck?

Ahem.

Watching Willie and remembering the incident in their dormitory, Jake was a tad suspicious, but did his best to hide it. It was a pretty brilliant gesture in Jake's eyes for Willie to help him like this, even if he did look a great idiot. "Thank you," he said softly to the boy, before peering round at the new arrival on the scene. Eyeing the interaction, Jake was going to nod in show that he was, in fact, Jake Upstead, but decided that a small wave would do better.

Willie grinned at the girl and then looked back at Jake to see him wave a hello to her. "Thhoo, yeh we gottha go." He told her, saluting. "Theeth ya thoon, odd girl!" And with that, Willie grabbed onto Jake's arm and dragged him towards the fifth floor, wanting to head towards their common room.

They'd only just really got here, and then... they were leaving again? Then again, maybe they were only just trying to scurry away from that nasty scene earlier. Made sense.

"Erm..." Jake managed to get out. Willie was pulling him along again, which was fine with Jake. He wasn't one for leading the way at the moment, even with Willie the Tooth Fairy. "Ok... lead the way..." he said, basically just so he felt he had a say in the matter.

"Aww...Raiden," Vanessa smiled at him, feeling her cheeks redden. Great. Not only could Miles make her blush, but Raiden could too. It must have been a Slytherin thing or something. "I don't think Miles cares though...so...I don't need to worry." Vannie added with a beam. She wsa glad that Miles wasn't like his father. He would probably hate her if he was.

"Raiden...are you okay?" She asked, looking a little worried, as he glanced back at the mirror and then at the Portrait. Was there more people? Maybe they were going to come in again, and look at the mirror. Oh no. Not that mirror again, she'd look at it again.

"I think we should go out Raiden....then we won't look in the mirror again."

Lima smiled and found a nice place to sit on the floor, right under the portrait. She then took out her books and started to lay them out around her, getting ready for a long day of studying. She took notes and highlighted things in her books occasionally while humming a tune. She was working hard to get back the points that she had lost Hufflepuff.

Maddox was walking out from the sixth floor corridor when he saw her. DANG IT! Why did she have to be there right now? He shook it off and decided to walk right on past her, it's not like she would talk to him anyway. He personally didnt want her to talk to him. But knowing Lima, she would say something. He sighed and quickened his pace so she wouldnt notice him.

Lima continued to hum a tune, but that didn't keep her from hearing footsteps approaching. Fast ones at that. She looked up and saw Maddox walking quickly past her. She snorted under her breath. But she needed to talk to him. "Maddox!" she called out to him. "Can I have a word with you?" She had a feeling it would go bad, but she had to at least try.

His back was turned to her, when of course she had to call out to him. Maddox slowly turned with a grimace on his face, and walked towards her while simultaniously folding his arms across his chest, "Yes, Lima, What is it?" He asked a tad snippy. He wasnt going to be nice to her. In his eyes she didnt deserve it, but at the same time...NO! He tossed that thought away. She deserved it!

She ignored his tone and look as he turned to face her. She was used to it by now. So what did it matter? She just needed his help, she wasn't trying to be his friend or anything. "Can you do me a favor?" She smiled at him weakly, thinking that she never should have bothered as he would just refuse her.

Of course she wanted a favor. She always wanted something. If it was to stick her nose into his best friends business or whatever else! He paused and said, "Tell me the favor first then I will give you my answer." He was still snappy. He could hardly stand being in class with her, let alone her talking to him and asking him to do crap for her. Suddenly they were friends after she ripped his heart out? I think not.

She was surprised when he didn't refuse her flat out. Wow. That was progress right there. She got up and stood in front of him. "Can you help me find Cela? She has a letter that Nico wrote to me, but I can't get it since I dunno what she even looks like other than she's blonde." She sighed and waited for his reply.

Maddox sighed and covered his face with his hands. He understood how she felt about this one. He hadnt received his letter until mid term. It wouldnt hurt to help her would it? He took his hands off his face and said, "Fine. But this doesnt mean we are friends again Lima." He folded his arms across his chest again waiting for her response.

She was so happy when he agreed. "For cereals?!" she exclaimed giving him a hug. "You are the best, Maddox!" She was so excited, that she didn't even think that hugging him might be a bad idea.
