"I don't know," Vindictus answered and touched his chin. Strange, it was smooth but the reflection in the mirror showed facial hair like his father. In fact, the reflection looked a lot like his father but the movements of the older man mirrored his own. "Okay. That's enough for one day." He turned around and looked at the students and one professor. "I think we need to take a trip to the library and find out all we can about this Mirror of Erised," he announced to the group. It was a typical Ravenclaw answer.

She looked at him. Just like a know it all book wormy claw to want to go bury their heads in a book to try and learn something. "I think we should go stalk the ghosts. They know more than they are letting on." She said nodding her head. "Books only tell you so much. You have to have common sense to apply book smarts." She said.

"Then do you know how to stalk a ghost?" Vindictus asked the Slytherin girl who clearly thought she knew it all. "Besides, those who know how to read clearly understand that books provide a wealth of knowledge and aren't afraid to apply what they know in real-life situations."

Apparantly Professor Vindictus has seem some sort of reflection of himself, as he was not only discussing his hair, but he was also touching his chin, as well. Anna wondered if he'd seen himself as he appeared when he was in school or if he saw himself as he hoped to one day be. Either way, he seemed ready to leave now. "I was in the library earlier talking with Madame Kohan about the mirror and the ghosts. She didn't seem to know any more than we do about them, though," she explained. "Maybe we can search for something ourselves and come up with the information we need."

"How do you stalk a ghost, though?" Anna asked Paris. "They appear and disappear so randomly. I wonder where their hangout is? If we only knew..." Anna thought about the situation for a moment and then asked, "Do you think maybe we could go out into the corridors and call for them? Maybe they'll appear for us and finally answer our questions!"

She grinned at him. "Sir I could stalk a FBI agent and they would be none the wiser if I really wanted to." She was good at stalking people and finding out things. Its what made her a good prankster too. "Its helps that I'm the size of a 6 year old too." She added. "I didn't say knowledge didn't come from books, but sometimes people place more importance on books than real life experiences and common sense. In Africa we pass down knowledge through an oral history." She explained to him. Yes books were important of course they were, but books weren't the only way you learned something. "Care to apply some of that knowledge and hunt down Myrtle with us?" She asked him since he thought he was top dog and just knew everything possible.

She looked at Anna. "Well of course they can appear and disappear at random. The trick is not seem interested when they appear and then poof all of them appear and they start talking. Or you can just get a hold of Myrtle and she will tell you everything." She told her.

Vindictus rolled his eyes. "You students cease to amaze me," he said and headed for the door. "Restricted section should have some books that might enlighten us on the matter." He looked at Paris. "And no stalking the ghosts. This is their home, too, so let them do whatever it is they do in peace. Well, Peeves isn't that quiet and he isn't technically a ghost."

He looked over at Anna. "You could try that," he replied to her question and ran his hand through his short hair once more.

Anna playfully smiled at her professor's eye-rolling. "Wait, sir! Are you giving us permission to go into the Restricted Section? Or, if you're headed there yourself, would we be able to just go in with you?" Being able to search the Restricted Section would really, really be able to help them find something insightful. They may even be able to find all the answers they'd been looking for. Anna nodded when Professor Vindictus instructed them not to stalk the ghosts. His reasoning made sense. If the ghosts felt threatened, they might never decide to release any information. "Yes, sir," Anna replied.

She tried to picture him totally bald and with a but to keep from snapping at him when he rolled his eyes at her. "This is a off day for me. I can try and dazzle you tomorrow if you would like sir." She told him. He was just a pretty boy broom jockey who took himself and his hair gel way to seriously, she thought to herself.

She folded her arms across her chest as she looked at him. "Sure thing Professor." She said meaning anything but.

"Then let's go look in the Restricted Section!" Vindictus called out and made his way out of the room. He was on his way to the Library to search for answers.

Waking up from staring at the PINK shoes for long enough, Lyra heard the words LIBRARY and GHOSTS then of all things...restricted section. Her eyes became shifty as a sly smile crossed her lips. She was NOT about to miss out on anything so she followed the "crew" out of the room.

Ludo hadn't been able to look away from his enchanted reflection. Fortunately and to his utmost surprise...Liz had snuck up behind him...again.
"Liz! How did you find this place? Never mind. This is amazing! Look!"
His words flew freely and he positioned her in front of the mirror so she could see his own reflection.

Before he knew what had happened, Professor Vindictus had arrived and instructed students to move away so the "adults" could observe. For one, Ludo found this a bit unfair because adults had been in and out of the room since he'd gotten there. And secondly, he was almost 17 and he'd be an "adult" soon enough as well.
Nonetheless, he backed away.
Professor Vindictus talked with several people before announcing he'd be going to the Library. The idea was inviting, but Ludo wasn't sure he wanted to leave the mirror....

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow as Ludo finally noticed her, and asked how she had found the room. "I'm observant," she said dryly, before grinning. "I saw Professors Pierce and Bunbury leaving, so I got curious." But then he was physically moving her in front of him, trying to get her to look at the mirror. Tilting her head back, she looked up at him again, skeptically. "It's a mirror. Is your reflection that interesting? I mean, I'd hope you knew what you looked like," she said, still not really paying attention to the mirror itself.

And then they were backing up at Professor Vindictus' request, and she certainly wasn't going to do anything to make him angry. Not when he could jeopardize her position on the Quidditch team. But Vindictus hadn't really seemed to notice them, talking to Anna and a Slytherin before they left to go to the library. Part of her wanted to follow them, but she had a greater urge to find out what was going on with Ludo. Why he was so excited about this mirror.

Ludo watched as Professor Vindictus left. He felt the urge to follow and learn more about this mirror. But Liz hadn't even used it yet!
"Liz listen. It's not normal. This is waaay beyond any magic anyone at this school could use." He put an arm on her shoulder, scooting her towards the glass.

"Stand in front of it properly, and look!".

Forrester had taken time away from his planning and seeking to do....more seeking. Once again feeling like Indiana Jones, he crept through the door that happened to appear and found....more students!

He glowered at them, "Now, now, you should not be here. This is a priceless artifact that you children should not be playing with. I saw Professor Vindictus leaving with other students, and I suggest you do the same...before I start taking away House Points." He stood directly in front of the mirror, blocking anyone's possible view.

Elizabeth spun around in Ludo's grip as he tried once again to get her to look into the mirror, facing him so she didn't have to crane her neck so much to look at him. "Okay. So it's some really cool mirror. That has awesome magic," she said, before grinning. He was really trying to get her to look into it, which was making her curious about what he thought she was going to see. But she was having too much fun making it difficult for him. Trying to deftly change the subject, just to see what would happen, she then said, with another mischievous grin, "Did you hear about the Quidditch team?"

And then Professor Forrester had come in, like he was trying to sneak around. Which she had only noticed since she was turned away from the mirror at the time. But at his glowering, scary look, she spun arund again, seeing as he had stepped around them to block the mirror. Widening her eyes, she stepped back, smartly rapping against Ludo since she hadn't thought about him being there. "I wasn't playing with it," she said to the professor, starting to get a little terrified of him. "So, since we weren't doing anything, I think we'll just be going," she added slowly, trying to back toward the door even though she still had her friend behind her. She did not want to lose points for Ravenclaw.

Finally spinning around again, realizing she wasn't getting anywhere going backward, she grabbed Ludo's hand. "Come on. Let's leave the professor to whatever he wants to do," she said, dragging him toward the portrait doorway. Once she managed to get them there, she swung it open and whispered to Ludo. "Maybe we can come back later and you can show me whatever it is you were trying to show me." Then she dragged him out into the corridor, letting the portrait swing shut behind them.

Jake looked round. "Whaaaaat?!" Everyone had gone. He couldn't have been that lost in his thoughts, right?

Jake looked up towards the mirror, longing to see that man and kid again, but another familiar man was standing there. "EEP!" Jake exclaimed, jumping back and nearly falling over. "You startled me... I'm going to... go, now..."

Jake hurried from the room as fast as he could without running, trying to follow the crowd that had abandoned him with the Scary and Moste Eville Professor.

Walking in with Copernicus, Liz looks around, and finds the mirror. "There it is!" she says excitedly unnecessarily.

"Wow," Copernicus peered over her shoulder toward the mirror, although they couldn't look into it. Still, the mirror was beautiful, with filigreed scrollwork and gilded edges. He would have greatly enjoyed studying it more closely. "I would have thought there'd be more people wanting to look at it, but they seem to have cleared out. Have you looked in it?"

"No, I haven't yet." she says looking at the mirror and the detail around it. "I've only heard of it really."

"Yes, same," Copernicus crossed his arms and watched the professor pacing in front of the mirror. "I guess we're not welcome here? Although I don't know why they would leave it in a public place if we weren't to look at it and study it," he shrugged. "Perhaps we should go?"

"I suppose, we should." Liz says glancing back at the mirror again. "It's a shame, not being able to at least see, what it would show us. I'm kind of curious myself..."

"So... back to the common room? I think I've kept you captive long enough," he offered his arm again.

"Alright." Liz says with a grin, and takes his arm. "Not that I minded though."

"And maybe we can find someone to hex along the way," Copernicus suggested with a grin. "So why do you suppose they DO keep the Mirror stored out in plain sight like this?"

Smiling Liz replies "Perhaps to annoy us students, and make us investigate the castle some more."

"That could be fun!" She leaves the corridor with Copernicus with a smile on her face.
