"I'll be with you in a moment," he said, holding up a finger and trying to extricate himself from Lupa at the same time so that he was distracted from comments for a while.

Barry watched Lupa and when she was gone he said " She must have some hard time, but still don`t you see what I mean?" and he looked at his potion, it had thickened and now was ready. Barry then added "She`s different" Uh now he had nothing to do.

Abby walks back to her cauldron. "I'm sorry professor. I was just trying to get you away from Professor Lupa. She's not herself. I thought Professor Kazimeriz had taken her to the Hospital Wing, but she must have left. Professor Lupa thinks she's a student. I think it has something to do with the Mirror of Erised. She had a run in with Professor Shakleford over Professor Lupa taking an excessive amount of points from Hufflepuff,.... and I over stirred my potion. I think I stirred it about 17 times counterclockwise instead of twelve." Abby looks down at her potion. It's turned a weird shade a magenta.

"Okay, thank you Miss Wright. And the rest of class, please keep your comments to yourself and keep working on your potion," he said, in an uncharacteristically cranky voice. Normally he wouldn't have even bothered to ask them to tone down the banter. He looked around the class and tried to pick someone who wasn't showing signs of complaint to look after the class while he was away. Ah, a prefect. Perfect. "Miss Rider, please look after the class. Hopefully this won't take too long."

With that he left the classroom.


ooc: Normally I protest crazy behavior in class but since the professor has actually left the room it's okay to at like he isn't there now.

Plymouth craned his neck to watch the Professor leave completely. "Hmmm. That was odd! I hope poor Professor Lupa is okay." He shrugged and moseyed back to his work station. What... what were they doing? Plymouth didn't know so he started looking around at everyone else. "Guess it's fitting that I'm already confused."

Rachel eyed Professor Lupa as she left, and almost jumped a second time as she ran back in and stuck her tongue out at Barry. Raising her eyebrows, she sighed and turned to the Headmaster, wondering how he was feeling about this. His expression made her giggle slightly, and she fought to keep her smile in check as his eyes swept the classroom. Looking up at him as he said her name, she nodded as he told her to look after the class until he came up.
I can watch them as long as they listen to me... she thought worriedly, looking at her classmates. To her immense relief, she saw that most of the class was made up of Ravenclaws who were bound to listen to her more than the rest. It's a start, I suppose. She decided not to say anything and remain quiet; if someone did something bad, then she would interfere.

Checking her timer, she saw that the potion still needed 25 minutes to brew. Wait - did he mean keep the comments to ourselves for the whole time or just until he left the room? Does he seriously expect us to work in dead silence, or maybe just talk about other things? But how would he know anyway? she suddenly thought to herself, fretting. Making a face, she sank into her chair and looked around the room for some amusement to distract her from her insensible thoughts. As expected, the amusement she was looking for came in the form of a person.

"I think she will be. I have no idea what's gotten into her, but she made it seem like the Headmaster could fix whatever is wrong. Although I hope he does it without sacking Shackleton," she said, still wondering what Professor Shackleton did to make Professor Lupa that upset. "Do you need a hand?" she asked Plymouth, looking at him with a slight amused face as he glanced around at everybody's potion. Sure, everyone copies everyone during Potions but it had always bothered her to no end.

Not nice, but done. She should stop thinking about the silly birds and get this all thing done.

So, this will give her time to think about....what about? There was nothing going on at the moment...except maybe, the way the professors have been acting lately...especially Vindictus and that awful Herbology one, well, the professor was not awful, but she taught Herbology, sooooooo....

She started to doodle in her piece of parchment...it should be something Quidditch related, because it always was.

Barry saw Plymouth and decided to help him with his potion scince he had finished "Ok so your supposed to make the potion with the instructions on the board, first you boil the water" he said to him making sure the professer wasn`t back

Abby walks back to her cauldron and looks at her hour glass. Great, my potion boiled for five minutes longer than it should. You're just doing great today Abigal. Abby reduces the fire under her cauldron and adds the leech juice. She starts stirring in an unpredictable manner. Abby turns for a moment to see what Plymouth and the other Ravenclaw boy are talking about. That's all it took. Suddenly Abby potion starts erupting like a volcano spewing potion everywhere.

Jane was happily adding the leech juice. Squeezing a leech was therapeutic. It was spongy and the way it popped sounded very satisfying. She waited patiently for the leech to empty its juices or rather for the juice to finish trickling. She eyed Abby's violent madman cauldron which was hissing and spewing violently.

Mmmmmm....Professor....

She was just standing there, looking at the mess Abby's cauldron was creating with her mouth wide open. She accidentally dropped her leech into the cauldron and hers began to emit light blue fumes, rather furiously.

Oh, no..nooo..noooooo!!!!!!

Jane bit her lip and tried to get the leech out with the stirrer, she managed to rescue what's left of the melted leech and her potion slowly returned to the original colour...so she stuck her stirrer in there and made a 'J' , 3 stars and 1 decagon. Her potion was starting to thicken.

Success!!

Kayla watched as Professor Lupa caused slight chaos in the potions room and she merely shrugged. Some of the Professor's had been acting weird for months now and she was getting used to the interruptions, especially didn't bother her in this class. She watched as the Headmaster left the room and she returned back to the instructions.

Okay so first she'll need to juice the leeches, she grabbed a couple out of a jar and began to squeeze them. It was actually quite satisfying squeezing the leeches unfortunately she squeezed a particularly big fat one and the juice flew across the table and hit Copernicus in the face as he was sitting next to her. "Oh dear I am so sorry Cope" Kayla put her hand in front of her mouth to cover the laughter.

Lucy measured 500 mL of water carefully. Normally in Potions she would screw up the potion because she didn't measure an ingredient correctly. She looked back at the board. 'Bring water to a boil.' She poured the water into her cauldron. "Lacarnum Inflamarea." A flame lights up under the cauldron. While she waits for the water to start boiling she walks up to the front and retrieves two jobberknoll feathers and 2 leeches. 'Yuck' She returns to her seat and starts to separate the barbs from the shafts carefully. Every once and a while she checks the water. When the water is boiled she looks at the board and drops the to barbs into the water. 'Stir clockwise 12 times and then stir counter clockwise 7 times. Lucy stirred carefully. She started from where the 12 would be in the cauldron were a clock. Every time she would pass that line she would count. Then starting from the same position she stirred counter clockwise 7 times. She patiently waited a half hour and then, for the third time today, checked the board.
'Add leech juice by squeezing one leech into the cauldron and stir in an unpredictable fashion' Lucy sighed. She didn't want to squeeze a leech. But none the less she picked up a leech and squeezed it. She refused to look at the leech's juices. She set it down and pointed her wand at it. "Evanesco." The leech disappeared. Now how what does it mean by stir in unpredictable fashion? Lucy raised her hand and awaited for Professor Bontecou to come assist her.

Copernicus was in the process of trying to juice his own leeches when Kayla's juice hit him in the eye. Ugh. He blinked rapidly before his hand went to his face. "Uh..." Cope's voice came out muffled. "It's not a problem, Winters... Kayla. I should have had my goggles on."

She quickly stopped laughing and reached into her robes and pulled out a clean (unlike Morgan's from last lesson) handkerchief and slid off her stool and made her way over to Copernicus. "Here let me look at at it and whatever you don't rub your eye" Kayla said, standing beside Cope holding up the handkerchief.

Lucy put her hand down and just started stirring her potion in a unpredictable way. She glanced at the board. 'Add leech juice by squeezing one leech into the cauldron and stir in an unpredictable fashion' NOT AGAIN! Lucy sighed a picked up her remaining leech and squeezed it quickly. She stirred for 5 minutes. Every stir needed a little more force needed to it. Lucy took a deep breath and looked at her potion. It was a thick. IT WAS THICK!!! THICK! Lucy was so close to jumping up and down. She had finally made a potion correctly! But she refrained herself and just waited for one of the Professors to notice that it was ready.

Emiliano started his potions practice when all of the sudden Professor Lupa stepped into the room, crying. A whole whispering had taken over the classroom and made his concentration loose.

Ok...500ml of water to be measured, done...now to separate the barfs and shafts. One by one, he placed the barfs on the water and stirred, 1..2...to 12 times clockwise and 1...2..3...to 7 counterclockwise. Boil...let's get started. 30 minutes? What to do during then?? Maybe think about that reason why he should stay at Hogwarts and not move.

Copernicus obediently went still, offering his face to her to be wiped clean. "It stung a bit at first, but I don't feel anything now. Do you think they'll damage my eyes? I really need my eyes. They help with the seeing and stuff."

Kayla pulled her sleeve over her hand and tilted his chin up to the light and looked into his eye, "Oooh it looks nasty. I don't know Cope, we might have to take the eyeball out before it spreads any further." She stifled a giggle as she let go of his chin and used the 'Aguamenti' charm onto the handkerchief and then gently wiped at his eye. "There you go, you can thank me later for saving your eye" she handed him the handkerchief, conveniently forgetting that it was her fault in the first place. "And you can keep that."

"I'll be sure to replace it," Copernicus reassured her as he wiped his eyes gently with the cloth. "I do appreciate your assistance with this matter, Winters. You could have left me with leech juice on my face, but you were very decent."

Once his eyes were clear, he cracked one eyelid and looked at her. Blurry for now. "But it doesn't mean I'm willing to pick up for Toussaint. I'm sorry, but I just don't think that's fair to anyone." He reached blindly for his materials, hoping to finish squeezing the leech.

Kayla shrugged her shoulders, "You know contrary to what you and your brother think, I am a nice person. I guess I just like to intimidate people because I seem to get away with it and I tend to find it easier to argue with someone than being nice to them." Her grandmother's fault of course and what was with these Ravenclaws? Getting her to open up, that'll just have to stop.

She looked at Cope for a moment dumbfounded, "What are you - oh you've spoken to Plymouth." Kayla rolled her eyes and gave Morgan a fleeting glare before turning back to Cope. "Look you're brother has very twisted ideas but I can assure you Copernicus, as much as I think you're a nice guy and all. If Nicholai and I do happen to break up over this..."she choked a little on those words before gathering herself together and continuing..."I won't be looking for anyone to replace him." No she'll probably lock herself in the dormitory for the rest of the term.

"I have it on good authority from someone who knows that Nico Toussaint is a loyal man who is loves you. I'm pretty sure that means he wouldn't flip out just because Plymouth accidentally kisses girls all the time." He blinked rapidly, and his eyesight cleared up until he could put his hand on the leech. "I know you're a nice person. I never said anything to the contrary."

Kayla was just putting some water onto boil when what Cope said registered in her brain. She didn't have to ask who his source was and she sighed, Kayla knew that he loved her even though he had never actually said the words to her. She turned and looked at Copernicus, "You know I think I already know that, it's just that I have never looked at another guy twice since I've been with him. I know it was an accident...it just feels wrong to me." Kayla shrugged and gave the water a quick look to make sure it wasn't boiling yet, "It should be alright once I explain it to him, Merlin could you imagine what would happen if Plymouth did write to him like he said he was going to?"

Copernicus made a face as he focused on his cauldron. Stirring erratically, Cope never took his eyes off the liquid inside. Ugh, this was trouble. "Erm, about that. Plymouth sort of... already... owled Nico about the kissing thing. And to ask permission to date Cela."

Well, this was a mess. The situation, not his potion... which had turned out rather nicely. It began to thicken.

Alright. Done doodling. It was time to add the leech juice...but how many leeches? Because it said those could be either 1 or 2...Hmmm...let's go with one, because...because...it was the number that was repeated in the ingredients and the instructions.

And she did. Kaika squeezed one leech into the cauldron. It was sort of fun...what potion were they making again?

Either way...she stirred clockwise, just because she preferred it, did so a few times and....

...kept doing so, until the potion didn't seem as liquid as before, which meant that it was working...and only two minutes had gone by...
