Please note that this class is intended for fourth and fifth years only (unless you are a NEWT student and spoke with HM Bontecou about remedial lessons). Other classes will be held for Beginner (1st through 3rd years) and NEWT (6th and 7th years) levels.

He was getting much better at finding his classroom now. Professor Bontecou was actually early for class (might have been because he gave himself an hour to find his room). he unlocked the door and took his usual position, resting his bum against the edge of the desk, while waiting for the students to arrive.

Zeke looked over to see Plymouth practically crying to be the guinea pig. Wow. I'm very glad I'm not in this little competition, he thought. A desperate man is a dangerous man. And Plymouth is definitely a desperate man at this point. Although I can't blame him. I don't want ear hair either... For Plymouth's pride's sake, Zeke hoped the Professor would choose him to try out the potion. Men have got to stick together, you know. Girls can shave their legs or whatever. You canNOT shave ear hair (not that Zeke had any experience with that, but he'd imagine).

Abby smiles when the professor offers Plymouth a chance to try to potion. Lord knows he need to do something about his hairy problem.

"Oh. THANK YOU, Sir. Headman, Sir. Thank you." Plymouth showed an embarrassing amount of sincerity. Plymouth gave his own little bottle a shake... "I think, if it's alright with you, I'd like to try mine. And if it doesn't work, then I want to try everyone else's until it DOES work. Someone in here, you know, has to have it right."

Plymouth uncorked his vial in a dramatic sort of way and held it up. "I just pour it on?"

"Thank you," murmured Willow, as she took the vial and added it to her potion. Listening to Weird Boy's read the instructions, the fifth year proceed to do as indicated: Stir for five minutes, alternating between clockwise and countercockwise movements as she did so.

That part of the work done, Willow got hold of the peeled and crushed shrivelfig, and added it to the. . . thing brewing inside her cauldron. How many times had she stirred it? Five? Ten? Surely, five extra stirrings would not affect the potion much, would it? Weeelll. . .

Shrugging this off, for there was nothing she could do about it, the girl watched as the shrivelfig stewed. These were going to be some long thirty minutes.

As she waited, the rather short brunette watched as some overly-excited fellow Ravenclaw wanted to be one of the Guinea Pigs. And Willow could not blame him--it was very obvious judging by the hair sticking out of his ears that he was in serious need of the potion they were all supposed to prepare.

Abby laddles a sample of her potion into a bottle. She fills another bottle for Plymouth just in case his potion doesn't work. Abby labels her bottle to turn into Professor Bontecou.

Ray had finished his potion as he added what was missing from his potion as well as managing to put the pippermint and lemon spirit he had got out from his bag. He poured some in a small bottle. He labeled his bottle and was ready to turn it to the professor.

Smiling Liz thinks Papa sure helped me, be prepared for potions this year! happy that she finally got a potion done correctly, in the four years she'd been in school.

She ladles the potion into a tube, and puts a cork on it.

Looking up, she watches as the volunteers start trying the potions.

"Okay... okay. Everyone stand back," Plymouth motioned and took center stage. He liberally started to spread the potion onto his ears, into his ears, and around his ears.

It smelled like putrid vomit.

"Is it working?!" Plymouth asked, clearly excited and anxious and ready to be earhair free.

Professor Bontecou laughed. "Give it a few minutes, then wipe it off and see if anything happened. I've never tried this on cursed ear hair before. It might possibly make it grow faster or it might not work at all," he explained.

Abby raises her hand. Professor, if the there is a curse spell involved with the outrageous ear hair, shouldn't you remove the curse before you try a remedy to eliminate the hair?

"You could, though that's not necessarily necessary," he said. "It's difficult to say without knowing the exact spell used, but I'm fairly certain I know what it was and this should work." And hopefully Kazimeriz wouldn't mind. Hmmm...

Plymouth dabbed the stuff liberally IN his ears, ON his ears, and all over the ear hair. It was probably equivalent to the pouring he'd almost done before, but... whatever.

Plymouth paced and waited for something to happen. Something other than him starting to REALLY stink.

"Um... is it working?" he asked again, using his robes to wipe the stuff off. "Did it disintegrate?" He was waaaaaaaay too hopeful. Why wasn't anyone else trying it out? Chickens.

Kayla placed her hand over her mouth and nose trying to stop that god awful smell. Her eyes began to water and she swallowed roughly. "What did you put in that potion Plymouth?"

She turned away from her own table and retched. Oh god it reminded her of the pixie poop she had to clean last year during detention. "And no it's not working, the hair is still gro..." she retched again. "Plymouth, for the love of Merlin, please wipe that stuff off."

Abby gets a tissue out of her bag. The smell is so vile her eyes are watering. "It's difficult to tell if the hair is falling out. It's so matted up with the potion. Maybe you should try wiping some of it off and see if the hair comes with it."

"I think he forgot an essential oil, in the interest of smelling manly. Unfortunately, now his ear smells like rotting fish," he laughed and handed over a handkerchief to the boy.

Plymouth's mouth downturned into a huge frown. "OOooops. My bad guys." He sent a particularly sorry look towards Kayla, the poor Hufflepuff who looked like she might be sick on account of him. "I didn't want to smell GIRLY - and now I smell like - burnt... hair... and dragon vomit...." Even Plymouth was finding himself rancid.

Plymouth took the handkerchief and began wiping away huge tufts of curly, long, red earhair. "Oh... OH! IT WORKED! Everyone! LOOKIT!" Plymouth was ALL TOO EXCITED. He waved the handkerchief around like a flag of victory and did some Irish step dancing (very poorly).

"WaHooWahoo! Thank you, Professor!!"

Kayla looked over at Plymouth from her position of leaning over with her hands on her knees. "Well smelling girly would have been better than that" she choked.

She watched as he pulled the hair out of his ears and oh god the stuff that came out of those ears. Kayla couldn't hold it in any longer, she leaned over and threw up all over the floor. "Oh yeah good going Plymouth" she muttered as she stood up straight and wiped her mouth.

"Nah I'm fine now. I don't think there's anything left in my stomach to bring up and I certainly hope there is nothing left in Plymouth's ears" Kayla gave Abby a smile. "Thanks for cleaning up the mess by the way."

Oh no! Plymouth ceased all handkerchief waving when Kayla puked. It was kind of like a broom accident - he didn't want to watch, or look, or stare -- but Plymouth found himself doing all three. Lucky for him, his own ears smelled so bad he didn't have to smell her puke. Otherwise, he'd have probably joined her. Puking partners.

Plymouth eased over and offered his handkerchief. It wasn't exactly clean anymore, but maybe she needed it. "I'm sorry, Kayla."

Kayla looked at the handkerchief that Plymouth was holding with a mortified expression. "Is that what you used to wipe your ears with?" she asked placing her hand back over her mouth. Oh she thought she had brought everything up but her stomach was telling her otherwise as it churned once again. "Thanks but no thanks Plymouth" she tried to give him a smile to say that she appreciated the gesture but she wasn't confident in doing that at the moment.
